Many Nigerians are excited easily when they see a look of prosperity. Progress and prosperity aren’t the same. You may have progress but not prosperity. The buildings shown are progress made by businesses and individual. They could be in debt, or even not making returns on investment. Prosperity is a system that brings everyone from poverty to comfort. That even the poor people have sense of belonging. In this system, Poor people can afford food and good healthcare at least. I was in Lagos recently, the number of Range Rover SUVs is mind blowing. In the other hand, there are so many residents that suffer hardship, air pollution, heat, poor healthcare, traffic, noise pollution. Big ups to private investments across Nigeria. Whoever thinks Nigeria is makimg progress under Buhari is not matured to differentiate good governance and bad governance. Good governance starts with freedom of speech . does Nigerians have freedom of speech? Good governance means balanced leadership processes. With the marginalized group of people in government shows there's no good governamce. Good governance will translate to sharing national wealth strategically. With civil servants begging for 30,000 doesn't show that. Finally, for a nation to prove economical healthy doesn't take more than 6months. It shouldn't take all the time we are told things are changing. |

Anybody who thinks Osibanjo will be president someday may have got it wrong. By 2023, Nigeria must have advanced to younger generation in command and he will be too old for presidency. In 2023, Nigeria must have advanced to result driven politics and his idea will be local. By the way, his composure and mindset is way behind that which is expected of President. It could be another western president in 2023 but will not be Osibanjo. |

How can an agent of corruption say otherwise? Elumelu is one of the channels government waste the resources of Nigeria. He simply wants the focus on debt increase to be shifted. Because, as long as we continue to talk about debt increase, his financial homes can never be left out. They are the people who move these money from overseas to Nigeria. It is not the people who live in high-rise, fly planes and run diesel 24hrs and never go to market will determine when the economic crisis in Nigeria is over. It is the masses. In Ethiopia today, the people are the ones testifying to working of the Ethiopian economy. About borrowing, there is no way we can say economic crisis is over with the amount of money borrowed. It is coming out from recession to going into debt crisis. Has anybody asked what the collateral is, conditions for borrowing. Consider the day you missed servicing your loan with a bank. They will send a different team that have devil looks. But when you came to borrow, a beautiful lady with accent will lure you borrow and even give you coffee. Most of the tokumbo cars you buy in Nigeria were like this in the USA. but the difference is that they fixed it in US before they arrive to Nigeria. While some other are brought back as is to Nigeria before it is repaired. The reason for the repair is made in Nigeria is simply cost. Not just the cost to repair but the cost of clearing. It is cheaper to clear a damaged vehicle than clear a running vehicle. A typical example is buying a 2018 SUV that is damaged in USA at $4000. You decided to repair it in USA and get it back to good condition. When you bring it into Nigeria, custom will not believe the cost of the vehicle so they will charge you averagely. which makes it little more expensive. However, the advantage of fixing in US is very simple, part are bought brand new, tools for repair are available and the skill is there to make it look like brand new.
