Yes. When I got my ECA from WES the DoB stated on it as seen on my transcript for my 1st degree was totally different from what I had filled in my WES application. I sent WES documents to prove my correct DOB. But after one month of waiting, I was told my school would have to send another transcript to them.
I was not ready for that stress. So, I went ahead to submit my application and wrote an LOE explaining the mistake. I also attached every document pre-university that showed my correct DoB (national ID card, birth certificate, baptismal card, WAEC certificate). There was no unusual delay in my application process and the GCMs notes I ordered didn't even mention it.

Hi Jhoci, it seems you had issue with discrepancies in the DOB on your documents while applying for PR. I'm currently in your shoes. The DOB on my transcript is '96, while every other documents bear '97, including WAEC, passport, and NYSC. Kindly ease put me through how you went about resolving this.

DOB is so important that Damian Eze born on 14 Feb 1992 is actually a different individual from Damian Eze born on 14 Feb 1993. I don't know if LOE resolves this type of issue.

I believe WES will indicate any dob discrepancy if you use them (from NL stories shared). A VO may completely miss it and not notice, on the other hand you may meet a VO who does.

You may want to search NL for "eca wes dob date birth" to read other age discrepancy gist.

Letter of explanation (LOE) is only useful when there's a gray area in your application where you may need to explain further for the immigration officer handling your case, to understand. If everything in your application is straight-forward then, there's absolutely no need for an LOE.

Can I make use of LOE for the discrepancy in DOB as the procedure for rectifying this in my transcript seems very long?

This could be a problem if the agent handling it sees it. It's safe to make your data to be in sync.

Have you evaluated your credentials with this transcript?
If not, I'll advise that you contact your school and get them to correct the DOB on your transcript.
If yes, I'll still advise you contact your school and correct the discrepancy on your transcript. Then contact the ECA body to correct the ECA report.

Know this: IRCC does not specifically request for transcripts but they have a copy of your ECA report, and your date of birth (from your transcript I think) is clearly written on your ECA report. You don't want to spend all these time and money getting into the pool and receiving an ITA, only for a discrepancy in your DOB to affect your chances.

I'm yet to start the process; thanks very much for your input. I'll do that.

Your ECA will reflect the DOB on your transcripts. BUT IRC will use the DOB on your In't passport to establish your real DOB should they want to clear any ambiguity

Use your current name for WES application.

However, when including the credentials you want to evaluate, use the name as it appears on your certificate/transcript (your maiden name)

Please I want to ask as this has been bothering me. The date of birth on my transcript is 1996, while every other documents, including my WAEC, NYSC, and international passport, bears 1997. Is it likely I face any problem with this? sad sad

The primary document used by IRC to estsblish DOB is any travelling document e.g your in't passport. So if the DOB in his passport is correct then you need not to fear

Gist (Pardon the grammar)[/i]

I have been a silent reader on this thread since somewhere in part 9, so I thought to share my experience.

I have always wanted to live abroad, I got used to UK lifestyle after my masters and I was hoping to stay back afterwards. But........
A few people told me about this Canada immigration but I didn’t take it serious until sometime around mid 2019, I decided it was time. Then I started to research and take action.

WES: This was seamless took about 4 weeks, I have Master’s degree from UK university.
IELTS: Wrote in July, and aced it in one trial (L8.5 R8 W7 S8)
PCC UK: Was also straight forward, and a little more expensive than Nigeria. Got it in about 2 weeks.
PCC Nigeria: It was also easy but dramatic, paid 10k for it.

Then I created an EE profile and four days later I got ITA with the next draw. Cut off was 454 and I was at 478. I proceeded to do my medicals and gather all my documents.

After about a month plus from getting ITA, I submitted my application.

At this time, I didn’t know much about VOs then on the thread, I started reading/hearing of Accra. Five (5) months into an application that is supposed to normally last 6months, still no update + COVID-19. Then I sent a few web forms to inquire about my VO, lo and behold.... It was ACCRA. Chai, I had mixed feelings oooo.


Applied for 1st GCMS note in July through someone in Canada, it came back after a month; eligibility and criminality passed which was not shown in my profile. MEP was the only thing that passed from the initial period of application. Officers assessments also showed everything was good.

SILENCE

Ordered for 2nd GCMS note in second week of November.

Fast forward to 1year+ AOR, I got first update which was that my medical was extended and two weeks later, Additional document was been reviewed according to my profile. I was hoping for a Christmas Miracle at this time but instead, I got a New Year gift; Email that my application is approved YAY!! But they added that I may not be allowed to travel now due to COVID-19. Anyway, I was asked to send in my passport photo and Int’l PP.
Same day I got email that my application had been approved was same day the 2nd GCMS note returned. But it didn’t matter because I had gotten a better NOTE (Lol) and I’ll add also that nothing was different from the 1st and 2nd GCMS notes or maybe I didn’t read it well because at this time, I didn’t care about the notes.

Counterfoil was issued on the 1st of February and all the remaining section on my profile were subsequently passed that same day. Security section passed with a date sometime in May 2020 (just wondering why it wasn’t update when it was actually passed).

I saw on this thread someone suggested that London VFS will be better since Accra is always slow. Though someone argued that because of Coronavirus surge in England, it wasn’t the best idea. I went ahead to contact VFS and they were prompt in replying. It gave me hope that at least they were still in operation/business. So, I trusted God and I went ahead to DHL to have my documents sent to London VFS.
It got to them in 2 days and they dispatched to IRCC same day they received it. Then I got counterfoil update in about two weeks after my documents reached IRCC. My PP was then sent back to VFS and I was notified. So, I had to arrange for pickup and I wrote a consent letter as well. It took about 6 days for PP to be returned to me because VFS designates 2 days for courier pick up to be done and also shipment fell around the weekend (turnaround time for my COPR and PP from London VFS+IRCC was 3weeks).

IT ENDED IN PRAISE!!! THANK YOU JESUS!

For all those still waiting......Hang in there, your miracle is coming, I believe God will not leave us alone in this journey, Amen. Thanks to all those who contribute to this thread.

As it seems the deadline for most schools has passed? Would writing GRE next month and applying to as many schools as possible be a good idea? And can funding be secured during summer and winter?

Please are statement of purpose and curriculum vitae required to be uploaded as documents for applying? The school I'm applying to does not include this among the lists of documents to be uploaded?

Have you thought about the possibility that high paying job comes with high risk of job loss? Are you saying such person should wait until they lose the high paying job before contemplating relocation ( why which time it may be too late to gather the needed resources)?

Does earning above that income threshold immune you from insecurity in the country? With 500k monthly, can any wise person do to rent apartment in a gated estate in Lekki?

Can his 3kids attend a decent school paying 200k per term?

Again, I ask, why do you think someone earning about half a million or more ( with the attendant lack of jo. security due to the unstable social/security, political and economic situation in Nigeria) should stay put in Nigeria?

a director on GL 15 earns above 500k. Perm sec is a step higher, and this evidently corresponds to a higher salary, asides the allowances. Why the hell would you compare a street sweeper with a perm sec? Chai!

Op, everyone will tell you different reason for migrating but i suggest that we try not to generalize. I decided to move then not because I want to be on the Forbes rich list but because I want a very good quality of life. Note that I had a job and pay was quite good but I was a government on my own as I had to provide everything so the quite good pay at the end of the day was not that good. I needed a better quality of life badly, I needed time more than money, I needed rest badly that I migrated.

Now, I wake up at about 7am, leave my home at 7:45AM to catch the 8:15 train to resume work at 9am. I leave work at 17:30 and I am back home latest 18:30. My children attend some of the best schools in England and I don't pay a penny on school fees. I spend quality time with my family everyday. I have dinner at 7pm. I don't have generator(s), no business with "UP NEPA". I don't pay security levy, I have time to think about things and ways that I can improve. My prayer points are more precise because my taxes provides those things that I use to pray for.

These things might seem very minor, but they are big deal to me. I don't want to be on Forbes list and not be able to take a walk or cycle with my children in the park. I just want a very good quality of life.

You're one of the few reasonable persons here. People do not relocate exclusively for finances or to be billionaires, but for a better life. However, kindly consider consider paying some of your children's school fees, however insignificant, so they don't end up in massive school debts after graduation.
