tensazangetsu20: So in your mind, Nigeria is better than Azerbaijan. They have a per capita of 18000 USD and a much higher human development index than us. Same as Armenia. North Korea maybe but that's even plausible. North Korea maybe ke? That's prison; you dare not even move interstate within the country without government's approval. You, as a female, could get murdered or imprisoned for dressing in jeans. It's that bad. BTW, read about Azerbaijan-Armenian war. |

tensazangetsu20: Please which country is Nigeria better than in Asia and South America. I dey wait. Better we get light pass them, better school, better healthcare, better work. Road and general infrastructure. List I dey wait. Better migrate to North Korea where your use of the internet is regulated and you can get murdered for even saying this or Syria where you probably would have enlisted into the army and running about with grenades and RPGs. What about Azerbaijan and Armenia where mines would have blown you to pieces in broad daylight or Kazakhstan. I understand you and sincerely detest this country myself, but to be honest, as unbelievable as it sounds, you'll appreciate this place despite how shitty it is when you get to hear the experience of people in other places. Also, I pray your relocation works so we get to rest on this site. |

My brother Nigerian government doesn't have plans for his citizens. You will definitely end up working for him in his company after graduation. You have no excuse now and you can akso combine the two together. Na people like you dey talk say yahoo no good but like spending the money. Mtchewwww you be mumu. Continue school if your papa get company or if you get politician as uncle. The bitter truth? How's that truth? So there are no legal ways to make money besides fraud? And since kidnappers make as much as 100-200 millions per trip? we all should start kidnapping? Is your conscience completely dead? How would you feel working your company from nothing from th very scratch to a multimillion venture, only to end up losing it all to fraudsters who spend half of the proceeds on prostitutes and drinks? Or a loved one of yours loses all his/her funds and collapse right there in your presence. No wahala, you dey meet your Waterloo soon. |

IbileIfe: N800 monthly in 1988 as a young national Program Consultant for UNICEF in Nigeria. I was in my early 20s. Minimum wage was N250.
Real wages fell significantly in the l980s following a statutory wage freeze (1982-88), salary cuts in the public sector in 1985, and a constant nominal minimum wage that started in 1981. From 1986 to 1989, real wages fell almost 60 percent. You must be retired by now sir. |

Babastrong: I am not a salary eaner but employer. The least amount my employee in the lowest rank is receiving now is 45k/month. But As an employer i know that being an employee is a modern slavery no matter how much you're receiving monthly. Tell that to the expatriates working for oil companies or the team leads at Microsoft. The salaries of many people dwarfs your annual earnings by a mile. Be humble sir! |

Born2conquer: I hope someone will read this because it’s on page 10 already,
If my DADDY wasn’t a giver, we probably wouldn’t have gone through hardship.
My dad was a senior officer back then in the civil service and man worked for over 20years, he was giving his money out gannnn! To church, to community projects, and a lot of his siblings children lived us, we had nothing less than 10 kids living with us back then man had no savings because he was disbursing his salary.
He lost his job in 2007 and that was when his siblings came to pick up their kids and till date, those kids are doing fine and non of them even visit my dad again.
He lost his job and he was forgotten, church and Alfas first took the few changes he had left all in the name of praying for him before they all left!
Hardship CHOKE!!! we were living in an estate and we had to move into my mum’s 2 bedroom uncompleted project, lol, I left my private school to a public school..
Arghhhh! My dad was in one social club when he was balling but they all left when he lost his job.
A big shout out to my Mum for raising 4 kids singlehandedly without anybody knowing.
Glory be to God, things are better because we’ve finally built our house and we now 2 rides and we all are gainfully employed
Guess what? The leeches are coming back they finally remembered we exist again They came back? That's really shameful. I guess it's now easier to say no to them. |

Dextre: Unlike you, i know of nigerians doing relatively okay in Germany, wey dey go on vacations often( not a sign of wealth but at least they are good). You determine how you thrive in a place, not the country will determine for you. Nigeria is a good example of that Vacations aren't a big deal in Europe. You can travel to 3 different countries for vacay on less than 150 pounds, which evidently is affordable for a minimum wage earner. Visa isn't required for travel and air ticket is ridiculously cheap. |

Family › Re: Older Nigerian Men How Did You Survive Nigeria In Your 20s by JIREN01: 8:42am On Oct 23, 2021 |
tensazangetsu20: I used to abuse the older generation blaming them for completely destroying the country for the younger generation especially Nigerians in the 45 plus age bracket but I have been thinking and I feel that age range of Nigerians actually had it much worst than Nigerians of today.
Nigeria is still an absolute shithole today but at least the internet exist which is enabling young people to make a living online. Something that was impossible or unheard of like 10 years ago.
How did older men survive Nigeria when they were young. I mean let's say you graduated from unilag or unn with a mechanical engineering degree in 1984 when Buhari was head of state. They were no jobs, unemployment was still very rife. There was no internet for freelancing or stuff like that. Bujari destroyed the economy then and a demon IBB entered and became president as if that wasn't worst Abacha came in. By the time Abacha left, a 22 year old man from buhari tenure might have been 35 or close to 40 years. Lived through all this bad governance, poverty and hardship. It's so terrible when I think about it.
Older Nigerians how did you guys do it? I am really curious to hear your experiences. Nigeria was way better then than now. You can get a full-time role in a bank with a school cert back then. Even a masters degree doesn't guarantee you a contract staff role now. You have companies waiting for you outside your exam hall with official cars while writing your final paper. It was way better then than now. Dollar was even weaker than naira in the 70's and 80's. |

Not all investments can easily be liquidated. To be fair, it's better leaving one's money lying in the account than investing considering how volatile and toxic Nigerians and Nigeria is for business currently. Despite my research, I've lost a lot of money to several investments myself. |

Contact the province you would like to get PNP from and hope they like your profile. My Bro-in-law just got a letter of interest from Alberta with a CRS score of 437. So it's definitely doable. You should reach out to as many provinces as possible just note that you will have to live in that province for 2years which is definitely better than anywhere in Naija. Have you written IELTS or assessed your Pharmacy degree yet? and is this brother-in-law of yours a pharmacist? |
