Please, accept the offer. Improve yourself while on the job, and look out for better opportunities.

I was in a similar situation in 2011 where I accepted a job of 30K but today earn over half a million Naira monthly. Just use the job as a training school provided it is an industry where you have interest.

There is no way that guy can improve himself with 35k. Plus 30k back in 2011 is not the same thing as 35k in 2019. I am very sure if they had offered you 3k as salary for a whole month back in 2011 u wouldn't have accepted.

Hello All.

I have been visiting this site as a guest for 2years, but today I had to sign up as a member. I do not intend to write so much, so permit me to go straight to the point.

I graduated in 2017 from one of the federal university in the South and finished my NYSC last year April. Ever since I have been hunting for jobs so to keep body and soul, I have written hundreds of job exams and attended several interviews but none has yielded any positive result yet.

Last month a friend of mine whose Uncle works in a Chinese Steel Production Company told me about an opening in the Marketing department of the company, he told me they were recruiting for the role of a Purchaser and a Sales Executive and advised that I should go submit my CV for consideration.

I did as advised and the following day I was called for a test. On getting there, I met three(3) other guys who also came for the same purpose. The Chinese HR guy came and administered the test and afterwards only two of us passed and were asked to come back the next day for the oral interview.

The next day I went for the interview and after being drilled and asked several questions I was offered the job. But my zeal and interest for the Job died the moment I was told the job conditions and pay.

Working hours are from 7am to 6pm daily, Monday to Saturday including public holidays. All these for a monthly pay of 35k

I was given the offer letter to take home to sign if I agree with the conditions and return it this coming Monday to resume work.

My fellow Nairalanders, would you advise that I take this job offer considering the conditions attached or reject it and continue job hunting hoping that one day favour would smile on me I am confused, please help a brother cry

Please help a brother push this to FP so I can get all the advice I need as much as possible. Thank you.

I don't know why u are even considering this offer...continue with your job search and throw away that job offer. This is slavery and u will be worse off eventually. So just continue with the job search.

Phones / Re: Sales Rep Discouraged Me From Ordering Phones From Overseas, Gave These Reasons by jjmk(m): 9:01am On Aug 02, 2019
IMASTEX:
Here is what I was told today at a phone vendor's place. As I inquired of a particular Nokia make, that hasn't been lunched in Nigeria. Nokia X71 (8.1 plus). "It was obvious the phone can only be ordered online from overseas" I told the vendor. Then she repied as follows:

Phone brands "Nokia" ordered from overseas via Jumia is without warranty. Secondly, It is not a Nigeria specification. Hence, There might be a challenge if there are need for repair. As the exact parts may not be readily available at the Nigeria Nokia Care Centre. Except the person send it back to the country it was ordered from whenever there is a need for repair.
Is the above claims true?
I was almost paying for the one she offered as against my desired spec.

1. What are the differences between global version & the chanise version in phones?

2. Does version have anything to do with the phone's quality?

3. I noticed a wide price gap at a Nokia brand outlet today as against the Jumia online price. Though, that of Jumia is an order from overseas. Does this have anything to do with quantity?

Please how true are the above submissions. I've been doing a little research on what brand & make of phone to purchase within a budget of 100k to 150k. Though, I was kind of considering Nokia & Huawei phones.

Mods you can help to escalate it. Really need to get clarifications.

She just told u as it is. 100% correct.

Politics / Re: (breaking News) US Imposes Visa Ban On Nigeria Politicians by jjmk(m): 10:31am On Jul 24, 2019
omoiyalayi:

US imposes visa ban on politicians who undermined Nigeria’s democracy

The US government has announced visa restriction on Nigerians who “sabotaged” the country’s democracy.

This was made known in a statement signed by Morgan Ortagus, spokesperson of the US department of state.

“The United States is a steadfast supporter of Nigerian democracy. We commend all those Nigerians who participated peacefully in the February and March 2019 elections and have worked to strengthen Nigerian democratic institutions and processes,” the statement read.

“As Nigeria marks the twentieth anniversary of a return to democratic rule this year, we remain committed to working together to continue to advance democracy and respect for human rights and achieve greater peace and prosperity for both our nations. We condemn those whose acts of violence, intimidation, or corruption harmed Nigerians or undermined the democratic process.

“In a January 24 statement, the U.S. government said that we would consider consequences – including visa restrictions – for individuals responsible for undermining the Nigerian democratic process or for organising election-related violence.  To that end, the Secretary of State is imposing visa restrictions on Nigerians believed to be responsible for, or complicit in, undermining democracy in Nigeria. These individuals have operated with impunity at the expense of the Nigerian people and undermined democratic principles and human rights.”

The department of state also emphasised that the actions announced are specific to certain individuals and not directed at the Nigerian people or the newly elected government.

The names of the affected persons were not disclosed.

According to the A-list Ghanaian actress, her countrymen are quick to condemn people who openly talk about sex but they are obsessed with it. Lydia Forson who stated that Ghanaians are overly obsessed with issues of sex, said;

“Ghanaians are OBSESSED with sex. They’ll act shocked, disgusted and quote scripture to anyone who talks openly about it."But there’s a reason why a story with a sexual reference will spread faster than one about raising money to build a school”.

WHY I STOPPED SAVING IN THE BANK.

Please read till the end.
I promise not to waste your time.

IMAGINATION IS OUR STRONGEST TOOL_ BASICALLY, THE ABILITY TO SEE ORDINARY THINGS IN NEW WAYS. THE FIRST THING I WILL LEAVE BEHIND ME IS FEAR. IT IS THE ENEMY OF GREATNESS, THE OPPOSITE OF FAITH. THE LONGER IT LIVES WITHIN ME, THE STRONGER IT LIVES WITHIN ME.

:A WISE MAN.

I use to keep my money in the bank. Oh, sorry, I meant to say that I’ve always been keeping my money in the bank until I decided to look into other options. What drove me to think this way was the crazy charges on my money every month? Imagine me having three bank accounts each of which I possess their ATM debit cards. Every month, nothing less than #200 is being charged from my money in each account; ranging from card maintenance to SMS charge and you know the rest…

I mean, these charges were outrageous that I started my own personal research as to where the best place to keep my money would be and not just keep but in fact grow, whether I touch it or not. Honestly speaking, it wasn’t an easy task going online for these kinds of stuffs especially since there are so many scammers out there. But the research was worth it and I was amazed to find out that there are some platforms, companies and financial institutions that have investment opportunities that I could keep my money and get interest after a period of time. (Time in this regards does not necessarily mean that you have to wait for a year_365days before collecting your interest). I also found out that some of these opportunities have at one point or the other been shared with me by family and friends at one point or the other and they are available to anyone out there.

Personally, I’ve closed down two of my bank accounts because after my calculations, I believe I needed my money too. I only operate one account now which I think I may need its card to make some quick online purchases or at POS points or perhaps do some offline transactions on phone and I’ve distributed my other small change #(lolz) across these opportunities (as I love to call them) across these platforms and financial institutions that I’m about to talk about.

The first one I’ll like to talk about is Stanbic IBTC Money Market Fund (SIMM). Don’t be scared because it still has something to do with these banks that I was talking about earlier to run away from.

SIMM is a very great opportunity organized by Stanbic IBTC bank to cater for investors with low risk appetite who don’t want exposure to the capital market but require liquidity and competitive returns available in fixed income markets.

Think of SIMM as your normal bank account but which you don’t need to walk into a banking hall to perform any of your transactions. The benefits of SIMM include the following:
• 12.79% per annum of interest (no local bank in Nigeria can give you that much)
• Competitive returns
• Daily interest earning. This means that your interest is accrued on a daily basis
• Diversification of investment portfolio
• Minimum investment of #5000
• An automated and stress free subscription process via Direct Debit Initiative (DDI) this means you can save your money on the go.
• 24 hours online access to your account.
• Flexibility and ease of liquidity and the minimum tenure for SIMM is 30 days. This means that you can decide to stop after 30 days. Also note that you can take out of your money for use at any point in time and can refund as much as you want with no hidden charges whatsoever. Also, your interest is calculated on a daily basis and is added to your money every day even when you’ve withdrawn a particular sum. Just that your interest of 12.79% per annum only accrues to the money in your account for that day.

But please bear in mind that you can start with any amount of your choice. Although if you wish to start with more than #20,000, you’ll need to walk to the bank to get some forms filled. But I started with #5,000 and I did it on my phone and I’m so happy with their customer care.

Feel free at any time of the day to reach them via their email… assetmanagement@stanbicibtc.com or reach Adedayo (from Stanbic IBTC) on 09068866275 via a phone call, SMS or a whatsapp message.

Let me explain it like this:
Let’s say I invest 5000 only, for the first month my interest would be: 12.79% per annum ÷ 12months = 1.07% of my invested 5000. Which means that I would have a total of #53.5 on my money at the end of the first month?
To calculate our interest per day: that would be 12.79% ÷ 365 days =0.035% of my invested 5k which means that by my calculations here, I stand to gain #1.75k on a daily basis on my 5k for the rest of its life in that account. (Provided I left it at #5000). Now thin about what I stand to gain if I have more money in that account.

I don’t think of this as a way to make money, rather, I think of it as an investment. So I can even decide not to touch my 5k for 20 years. Trust me its chicken change. But let’s calculate it first.
If I’m getting approximately #54 on my 5k per month… in a year I should be able to boast of #648 (#54 × 12months). And in 20 years I should have #12,960… another chicken change but I don’t advise anyone to keep just 5k, why not make it your bank where you keep your money and look for other opportunities with me as we look for opportunities, financial institution and the likes where we can make so much more.

I personally love SIMM cos it operates just like my former bank accounts but better because I get interest of 12.79% per annum on my money which is added on a daily basis. I now save my money from time to time on SIMM and I wake up every morning with a smile on my face. It is never too late to start.

If you have any question(s) concerning this, you can ask now as I’ll be talking about another opportunity soon enough.

I hope this write up has been of great help.

Can one compound his or her interest?

No you are the one who is doing the wishful thinking. Now look at this: APC has multiple contenders and if they all go to the poll, PDP will have the single largest voting block just as it happened in 2015. PDP will then decide who wins. Think again man.

Politics / Re: Saraki's 317 Votes, Quran 31:7 And Bible 31:7 By Abdulrazaq O Hamzat by jjmk(m): 4:34pm On Oct 12, 2018
bilms:
Quran 31:7 and Bible 31:7

During the just concluded PDP presidential election, Bukola Saraki scored 317 votes, behind Aminu Tambuwal and Atiku Abubakar.

Some people have taken this score to the Quran for explanation, believing that there is a message for the Senate President in Quran 31:7.

In Quran 31:7, Allah said " And when our verses are recited to him, he turns away arrogantly as if he had not heard them, as if there was in his ears deafness.

So give him tidings of a painful punishment" the verse concluded.

It is believed that, the painful punishment being refered to in this verse could also be extended to the fatal defeat the Senate President will suffer in 2019 general election.

This is so because, apart from the failure he would suffer in his national politics, a greater failure awaits him at the local level, in which for the first since taking over in 2003, he would be thoroughly beaten in Kwara State and his dynasty will most certainly collapse.

It was believed that the score of Bukola Saraki 317 and the message in Quran 31:7 is indirectly telling us what awaits the arrogant fellow, who walks away when being told that the people cannot be taken for granted like he has continued to do.

Even the bible is not so silent on the matter.

In bible 3:17, it says

"They fought against Midian, as the Lordcommanded Moses, and killed every man".

But that verse didn't stop there, it continued by explaining how it happened.
8. Among their victims were Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur and Reba—the five kings of Midian. They also killed Balaam son of Beor with the sword.

9 The Israelites captured the Midianite women and children and took all the Midianite herds, flocks and goods as plunder.

10 They burned all the towns where the Midianites had settled, as well as all their camps.

11 They took all the plunder and spoils, including the people and animals,

12 and brought the captives, spoils and plunder to Moses and Eleazar the priest and the Israelite assembly at their camp on the plains of Moab, by the Jordan across from Jericho.

Many believed that apart from the leader, all his lieutenants, aiding the exploitation of the state will also be dislodged completely, as Kwara will gain it's freedom from political servitude and mindless godfatherism.

Although, there is some elements of violence in the biblical narration, but what will take place in Kwara will be peaceful, through democratic means. All Kwarans are ready with their PVC.

May Allah spare us all beyond 2019.

Good Morning

Kwara Must Change
There is nothing like Bible 3:17 or Bible 31:7.
If I did this to your Quran I am very sure u would have come for my head.
Pls don't ridicule the Bible just to prove a point.

PDP conducted primaries for these positions u mentioned above in Kwara, Kano and Benue.. Difference is that parties have a right to substitute names. That is what was done here. APC never conducted primaries in Zamfara. They claim they did but the electoral laws says INEC must be present during the primaries. The Chairman
Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN)

Dear Sir

My attention has been brought to a statement credited to the Gbenga Olawepo - Hashim Presidential campaign organization dated September 28, 2018 and signed by its Director General, Rt. Hon. Terseer Tsumba which insinuates the following:

1. That a “certain Presidential aspirant is fronting for some powerful interests in the All Progressive Congress (APC) to destabilize the Alliance for New Nigeria”

Being the only other Presidential Aspirant apart from Mr. Hashim on our great party, it is important that I respond to these false & misleading allegations.

For the avoidance of doubt, I wish to inform you that I have never been a member of any political party prior to joining the Alliance for New Nigeria on the 22nd of February, 2018, nor have I ever supported or been associated with any political party, especially the All Progressive Congress (APC)

2. “This Presidential Aspirant pretending to be campaigning for the Office of President launched a series of attacks on the party in the build up to her congresses and National Convention”

As you are aware, there were several concerns that myself, Dr. Thomas Wilson Ikubese & Dr. (Mrs) Elishama Ideh had about the direction our party was going as we didn’t feel the principles of fair play and true democracy that had drawn us to ANN were being upheld.

We had communicated our concerns via email to the Interim Chairman, Dr. Jay Samuels and copied the Board of Trustees and we decided at the time, not to attend the previous National Convention scheduled for the 11th of August, 2018.

Please let it be known for the record that I never at any time, used a public statement to “attack the party”

3. “This is in order to foist a prematurely organized Presidential Primary election on the party with the intent of producing a desired outcome by the ruling APC”

As a non Executive member of the Alliance for New Nigeria, I am not privy to deliberations of the National Working Committee or Board of Trustees, therefore, I can not be responsible for decisions the party makes towards scheduling conventions or primary elections.

4. “This so called Presidential Aspirant also circulated disparaging remarks aimed at impugning the credibility of our principal in social media...”

Such statements are contrary to my personal values, one of which is to “care and show respect through my words and actions”.

I have consistently run a unifying campaign that promotes values of respect & decency, without any direct or indirect attack on any candidate and have maintained a cordial relationship with Mr. Olawepo - Hashim.

I presume that our party is committed to principles of Transparency, Integrity & Excellence (TIE) in the quest for free and fair primaries.

I would appreciate if you could kindly look into and address these issues.

My continued best wishes are to Mr. Olawepo- Hashim and my commitment remains to the Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN).

God bless you.
God bless the Alliance for New Nigeria and may God bless The Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Fela Durotoye

I don't trust Fela Durotoye. How can he boldly lie that he has never associated with the APC before? Was he not hobnobbing with the APC during the 2015 elections?
I have always said that Fela will not get my vote, he clearly lacks good judgement. Period.
