Lajiniran:
I need help of gurus in the house.... Sometimes making key decisions about the next step you want to take in life need the input of some informed advisers even though the final decision is yours.

I am in my 30s, likewise my spouse. Married for 6 years with 3 kids. I work and ear very little, around 150k but my wife isn't.

All effort to get a gainful employment had yield no result. Always under employed, most times out of jobs or earning ridiculously little. She has a Bsc in Biochemistry (Science Laboratory Technology Option) while I have a Masters in History.

Now, here is where advise is needed. We are trying to decide on Canada Express Entry mode for the family. So that my wife and 3 children can go to Canada.

1. Is her Bsc Biochemistry SLT relevant over there? And which career path is best for her?

2. As a masters degree holder in History, what are the jobs that someone like me fits into?

3. We have no relatives in Canada, how will that impact our decision and migration process.

Thank you
Hi there. This is not the right thread to ask the question. Please refer to the Canadian Express Entry Thread. I will attemtp a general answer.

The system is points based and thrives on six important criteria:

1. Age, the system favours people under 30. You start losing points for each year from 30

2. Education, a combing a BSC and an additional certification or having a Masters is your best bet.

3. Language Score, a minimum of 8,7,7,7 in the Listening, Speaking, Writing and Reading modules of the IELTS test.

4. Skilled Work Experience of not less than 1year but 3 years is the most preferred.

5. Proof that you have money to survive. There is a specific sum for each family size.

6. Spouse advantage, a spouse can donate points by evaluating their education and taking IELTS.

So look at this criteria and see how you fit/use it to decide the spouse with the best chances.

Take the quiz here https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp to see how your points could look like

Hello All.
I'm looking for information about living in the Durham Region of Ontario. That is Pickering, Ajax, Oshawa, Whitby. Is there anyone on the forum who has experience living in these areas.

Information like where best to rent. Ease of access to Toronto (assuming I'm to work in Toronto and live in Durham).

Access to job opportunities, including various "survival" roles. I work in a regulated field and will take sometime to qualify in my profession.

I would be grateful to receive information about the advantages of starting out life in Canada in this region.

Note: the people who on this forum appear to live in these areas are not exactly active here.

Anyone can get refused for incomplete documentation or other issues here and there. However, PhD applicants seldom get refused because of the following:

These are some of the reasons. However, like I said, some PhD applicants can be refused based on home ties or improper documentation.

Which PhD programme were you admitted into?
Its for my friend actually. PhD in Law UOttawa.

This might sound like a rookie question.

How often do people with PHD admission get refused?

Are gift deeds acceptable? i.e. my dad giving me money and signing a deed of gift to show that he has given me the money?

Please I have a question for people that have requested remark from IELTS and their band score changed.

Does your TRF number change when they issue a new test report form?

I want to update my express entry profile and I don't want to wait till I get the trf because I don't know when that will be.

Thanks.
Nope

For those paying for their application. I used a Wema Bank Mastercard to make CAD payments recently (4th May) and the rate was 282 it could save you a few thousands of Naira.

Although I’m not an expert in these things, I’d say you really do not need to buy past questions. I wrote my first and only IELTS in February and got highest bands across. I used ieltsonlinetests.com to prepare for Listening and reading. Then ieltsliz.com for speaking and writing. My one cent anyway.

All the best.
Although this may be closed, please let me say that ieltsonlinetest website is not exactly a very safe site to use because the questions are more difficult than the actual test question and failing them repeatedly can kill your morale and in some cases, the answers are plain wrong.

Your best bet are the Cambridge books. In my time, I downloaded books 5 to 13 from various sites and used them exclusively for practice.

Is Rivers on Exclusive list?

You dey reason like small pikin, when WIKE lockdown Riiver state,

simple routeline require FG to contact Wike as per entre into his state

those pilot should be arrested asap

Don't do this bro. Read his post again. Rivers State cannot say pim on any matter relating to aviation. Wike is exaggerating his importance.

Look at the charges brought against the pilots! Again Wike is lucky. He is clearly exceeding his powers. No State in Nigeria can legislate over aviation.

The matter of interest is the flight manifest which the helicopter company refused to tender to wike till this point. Wike is right on this, federal might can do nothing, even the aviation minister knows this.
What is Wike right about exactly? Can he prevent the airport from operating or the helicopter from landing? What is the legal basis for his demand for the flight manifest? If it is for contact tracing in the context of COVID19 one can understand? And will refusal to handover the manifest warrant criminal charges to the point of remand in prison custody till May? Is that not disproportionate so as to amount to an abuse of state powers?

Again, his luck is that the people in Abuja are clowns. Try this with Obasanjo and see first.

MelesZenawi:
Wike has full rights.

Federal govt power ends in aviation while Wike is the Governor of Rivers state.

If we go by your logic of exclusive list and aviation the plane will remain in air and if it lands both the persenggers will remain in the airport. if they step foot outside the airport they are venturing into Wike Jurisdiction because he remains the Governor of Rivers State and land belongs to state government

These are nonsense 1999 constitution that is keeping this republic down
Since you agree that aviation is on the exclusive list, so it means you admit that they did no wrong up till the point that they landed in the airport. So, at what point did they violate any orders made by RSG? Merely stepping out of the airport cannot be an offence and their act of landing the helicopter was valid. So, what is the basis for their arrest?

Wike is lucky that we have an absentee President otherwise, he would know the true meaning of the so called "federal might" of the FG.

Please I need suggestions.

I left Nigeria in 2009 to country A and relocated in 2017 to country B where I currently reside.

While completing my EE application there is no request for Nigerian PCC as the only PCC requested is for country A and B. Although I have all three PCC's, should I ignore putting Nigeria PCC ?

TIA
It is likely because you have not resided in Nigeria for over 10 years, since you left in 2009. Personal history has a 10 year cutoff point.
