Henry240: It's because you lack the funds to keep them operational and the aviation fuel to fly them. yup!!! your right, planes can be upgraded and maintained while they are flying. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by jl115: 11:08pm On Dec 18, 2014 |
Henry240: We provided a source a few weeks back. The CAS confirmed them. This CAS flies combat sorties.
A soldier to the core. those 2 pilots of yours must be extremely exhausted! |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by jl115: 11:05pm On Dec 18, 2014 |
Henry240: It isn't what you need. You're too broke to even need.
It is only practical because you cannot afford aviation fuel. So you fly your Gripens less than 2 hours per month,
So you ground ground your entire Augusta A109 fleet.
So you store in the freezer half your Gripen fleet.
The only thing practical is how broke you are. The only thing also practical is how you only managed to raise only 9 pilots despite signing your Gripen contract 15 years ago.
The only thing practical is you fly museum pieces for MP duties.
You know what else is practical for the pathetic SAAF, 3 C-130's for 1.2 million KM area.
That's how practically pathetic you are. NAF can only afford to fly 2 2nd gen F-7s jets. |

Henry240: I just could not help laughing at all your posts today. There is no way to spin doctor anything.
Those numbers keep parading were raked up by your Presidential Air Fleet. Not the larger Airforce.
You have no aviation fuel boy, it has been confirmed again by this article.
Your MPA's are 55 years old, true and actual museum artifacts.
You sent 1 C-130 to Lagos, leaving a paltry 2 C-130's for a country with a 1.2 million kilometre area.
Somehow this clown thinks it's something to be so joyous over.
NAF deployed 2 C-130 and 2 G-222's to mali. NAF C-130 and a french military C-120 in mali
The SAAF should be competing with the Airforce of Malawi or somalia. The reason why all our C-130BZs are not all operational at once: thus we have more time to make them look like this:

Henry240: There is ample proof you have no more than 9 pilots.
You have only trained 18 Air crew members in 15 years.
You have 9 D models, it translates to 9 Gripen pilots and 9 navigators.
SAAF has only 9 pilots for their fleet of Gripen Jets.
FACT.
Run away from it Hide from it Deny it
It is there, and it sure ain't leaving. 14 operational planes and 12 in rotation, thus simple maths my intellectually impaired friend, 14 Planes = 14 Pilots and 18-14= 4 navigators. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by jl115: 10:35pm On Dec 18, 2014 |
Henry240: Wishful thinking. Your supposed review is literally gathering dust in your parliament. your Government should be more concerned with paying off the 40%, in loans, it still owns from a 1999 ego boosting spree that has left the SAAF with only 9 pilots, no aviation fuel and a severely weak Airforce.
3 C-130's to cover over 1.2million KM, you clowns need to snap off your hallucinations. Fact is Henry, its been approved!! |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by jl115: 10:34pm On Dec 18, 2014 |
Henry240: SAAF has 26 Gripens, you only have 14 planes because you cannot have no money, those planes fly 1 hour 40 minutes a month because you have no aviation fuel to fly them.
How you plan to fly your 26 Gripens with your 9 pilots is your problem, not mine. 2 pilots, 11 Planes..... your problem, not mine! |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by jl115: 10:18pm On Dec 18, 2014 |
Henry240: 9 pilots
9 navigators 26 planes.
Shame on you. 14 pilots 4 navigators NAF 11 planes ,2 pilots,Shame!!! |

Show us specs of the OPV you want to buy and show us the ghost companies that have responded to your cashless, penniless and Rand-less tenders.
Nigeria has also tendered for 10 stealth P18N from same manufacturers well known in China and Song Class submarine has been presented to us by the same manufacturer...
South Africans are here boasting about ghost OPVs, ghost manufacturers, ghost funding, ghost everything! . I have posted many many sources, and seeing you dont repost sources neither will i, consult google. and nn have made no tenders for 10 opv. The thing is experience is past down from generation to generation, those pilots that flew in the border war might not be pilots any more but they are flight insructors, air force advisors ect ect. |

Show me proof that all 8 SAAF pilots flew in Lion Effort.
In that crowd SAAF has 4 pilots confirmed to have flown.
The other 4 are bench warmers . Show me proof that only 4 pilots flew at lion Effort. |

overhypedsteve: the Kalahari is like a picnic park compared to what can be found in the N`eastern Nigeria especially the sahelian region. Here is what wikipedia have to say about your "desert" .North and east, approximately where the dry forests, savannahs and salt lakes prevail, the climate is sub-humid rather than semi-arid. South and west, where the vegetation is predominantly xeric savanna or even a semi-desert, the climate is "Kalaharian" semi-arid. The Kalaharian climate is subtropical (average annual temperature greater than or equal to 18 °C, with mean monthly temperature of the coldest month strictly below 18 °C), and is semi-arid with the dry season during the "cold" season, the coldest six months of the year. It is the southern tropical equivalent of the Sahelian climate. The altitude has been adduced as the explanation why the Kalaharian climate is not tropical; its altitude ranges from 600 to 1600 meters (and generally from 800 to 1200 meters), resulting in a cooler climate than that of the Sahel or Sahara. For example, winter frost is common from June to August, something rarely seen in the warmer Sahelian regions.[5] For the same reason, summer temperatures certainly can be very hot, but not in comparison to regions of low altitude in the Sahel or Sahara, where some stations record average temperatures of the warmest month around 38°C, whereas the average temperature of the warmest month in any region in the Kalahari never exceeds 29°C, though daily temperatures occasionally reach up to close to 45 °C I wish our troops had such a beautifuly cool place to fight. Maybe they could even snap some pictures while they are at it. Your Kalahari will be a nice vacation place for our " desert fox" Uhm..I Never said it was the hottest did I? I only corrected the post that stated we never fought in the desert, besides we can/are train our troops in the deserts(kalahari+Karoo) of the Northern cape, like to see how your soldiers and equipment fair in 40+C or -5C temperatures. Pic of AVERAGE temperatures for Upington NC. 106F=41C 25F=-4C P.S please post a source/pic of Average temperatures in the North Eastern regions of Nigeria.

agaugust: First problem is NNS Thunder and NNS Okpabana have 13km range 76mm gun with rapid fire mode anti-aircraft, so before Lynx can launch Mokopa 10km away, NNS Thunder has struck the helicopter dead 13km away.
Second problem is that South African military have NO SINGLE Mokopa in service . How accurate is that gun of yours at 13km trying to hit a moving target? |

agaugust: I did read my posts for sure, I read it so much that I even made it into photo screenshots for Nairaland to see.
SAAF had only 4 Jet aircraft in Lion Effort, for the 4 capable good pilots, the other 4 pilots belong to the drum beating trumpet blowing supporters club bench warmers.
So your pilots are NOT the same class, 4 good, 4 crap = 8 Gripen pilots.
Go see Lion Effort profile pages of SAAF pilots and see how many of your 8 pilots have real life combat exerience since the day they were born, the counting will embarrass SAAF . Citation to prove SAAF Gripen Pilots are not equal to each other.Do you even know how long it takes to become a 2 squadron pilot in SAAF? |
