brain54:What the heck are you saying So being wealthy is not a value to you Remember that the lady in question is a Lawyer, a member of Edo State House of Assembly and the grandchild of High Chief Gabriel Igbinedion. If all those ain't high values, I wonder what else is. When ladies marry men who possess same values as Natasha, we hail and applaud them for ''being hypergamous " but if a man does same, some people with poor sense of judgement would call him golddigger! |
The guy did the right thing by rejecting the proposal! Marriage proposals in our culture should be done by the man when he is financially and mentally ready for marriage. The f00lish girl proposed to the man as if she would contribute a kobo in the marriage ceremony and in shouldering the family's financial responsibilities Selfish f00ls that call themselves women! Mtchhheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! |
Nothing wrong with a 65yo man marrying a 20yo girl. My only concern is that this might just be a scam |
GravityDefier:That's what it is... money ritual! Soludo is busy chasing native doctors around while the real ritual killers are operating at head bridge market right under his nose |
Senseless post! Government has to start arresting all those employed ladies who still expect men to carry their responsibilities as if men are paid higher wages than women in their work places. To address the imbalance you talked about, it's either government stop giving jobs to women so that only men work and provide for their families or arrest all employed ladies who refuse to marry because they are searching for some few richer men than their male colleagues who are at the same level with them. |
IMPARTIAL:The lecturer doesn't have any fault in that incident as far as I'm concerned. Moulding character of students is part of his job as a lecturer and that is why university degrees are awarded to those found worthy in CHARACTER and learning. Him trying to confiscate her phone was a disciplinary step towards correcting her for the manner she talked to him. The girl should have simply handed the phone to him and thereafter go and apologize profusely to him and get her phone back. |
The man is a gentleman and that was what gave the $tupid girl the audacity to attack him. Had he been one of the hot-headed lecturers that students fear on campus, she wouldn't have had the guts to do what she did. |
viodemus:Stop typing rubbish! Nobody planted anything to sabotage anybody! Rather it is our greedy, evil and unscrupulous fellow Igbos who are killing us and other Nigerians with fake drugs! I have been making posts on this forum since God-knows-when calling attention to this menace because I'm in the system and I have seen a lot of evils being perpetuated by these merchants of death called drug dealers! Thank God NAFDAC seemed to have heard my concerns and decided to act this time. Bravo NAFDAC! Bravo Prof Adeyeye! |
Kalatium:Thank you for this piece! Igbos must begin to speak up against such evils as drug counterfeiting and the likes being perpetuated by fellow Igbos! It is shameful that a people that see themselves as wise, and claim to be among the most educated tribes in Nigeria would sit back and watch while our people perish in the hands of fellow Igbos trading on fake drugs! |
FreeStuffsNG:Honestly with her current drive, she might end up breaking Dora's record as NAFDAC DG. Kudos to NAFDAC and prof Adeyeye |
NAFDAC and the FG must not allow themselves to be tricked into reopening those death arena called drug markets! Those markets must be permanently closed down and replaced with the coordinated wholesale centers (CWCs) as spelt out in the national drug distribution guidelines (NDDGs). Nigeria should have grown past the current chaotic open market system by now! I heard Peter Obi telling the criminals operating in the market that he'll tell FG to open the market and I was like; does this man even understand the damages these guys cause to our healthcare system? Many Nigerians have met their untimely deaths due to fake drugs coming from the drug markets! I just want to believe that Peter Obi was just making political statement when he addressed those guys and would not make any further moves towards cajoling government to reopen the place. Instead of talking about reopening the death zone, Peter Obi and others should rather help facilitate the completion of the Oba drug market as a CWC in the southeast where all the regulatory agencies would be on ground to monitor activities going on there. |
That girl was wrong however one looks at the incident. The lecturer demonstrated being a gentleman by even say "excuse me", some would have shouted at her for blocking the way while engaging in such frivolous activity in the school environment. I hope appropriate sanction is meted out to the girl as I heard that her dad is also a lecturer in the same university and may intervene on her behalf. |
iCauseTrouble:There's nothing like "beated", it's either you say "beat up" or simply "beat" |
franchasofficia:I learnt that those who studied Arabic tend to have good handwritings |
I just hope 2baba meets her expectations else the marriage would still crash in a short while. For that lady to still be single despite her rich background, it is likely she ain't a wife material and she is probably marrying tuface just to improve her popularity for the sake of achieving success in her political career. Therefore, failure to achieve political success may cause the marriage to crash. |
I just fear for her life Hope those barbarians wouldn't go after her life ![]() |
NAFDAC should use the opportunity of the current enforcement activity to fully implement the national drug distribution guidelines in the country! The success recorded in relocation of the sabon gari drug market in Kano should be replicated in the southern region and other northern parts of the country. Nigeria has grown past the era of chaotic drug distribution! Let's build coordinated wholesale centers where all the regulatory bodies and security agencies would be on ground to checkmate drug distribution and ensure that our drug markets meet international regulatory standards. Doing this would help improve our healthcare system, inspire confidence in other countries to patronize our pharmaceuticals and thereby helping to grow our economy. |
GreatAchiever1:Don't mind them. The truth is that any man that wants to bear children should go for younger girls even if he has to shoulder her responsibilities. After all, even if you marry the older ladies, she'll still nag and remind you all the time that it is your responsibility to provide for her even when she's gainfully employed. |
Akalia:The problem is not from men but from women! The West really used women education and empowerment campaigns as a powerful tool in controlling population in Africa. This is because they knew that women's fertility would have declined greatly by the time they are done with schools and wasting time to choose a spouse. Most ladies don't marry these days until they're in their thirties and that is why many couples are struggling with fertility today. This wasn't the case when girls got married early! If a woman hadn't been pregnant at all before until her thirties, conception becomes a problem at that time. |
Kudos to NAFDAC on this! However, they should prevail on the government to expedite action towards completing the coordinated wholesale center (CWC) in Orba. This is to bring to effect the national drug distribution guidelines -- a noble initiative of government that seems to have been stalled by the criminals currently benefitting from the chaotic open drug market system. They should also come to Ogbete market in Enugu! Lots of fake drugs in that market! |
tishbite43:You know you're lying! Igbos not only glorify but worship devious characters provided he has enough money. |
Kudos to NAFDAC on this! However, they should beam their searchlight to the southeast region! Alot of fake and adulterated drugs are currently in circulation there! |
Oloki:And so what? Do ladies consider a guy's investment and emotional well-being when they want to break up ![]() You lots always try to guiltrip a guy when he wants to break up as if ladies don't break up and dump guys in devastating manners. Op, tell the damn girl and move on with your life! |
I like the fact that Trump is sanctioning all the ungrateful nations that depend heavily on aids from the USA yet turn around to bite the fingers that feed them. Countries like Nigeria, South Africa etc have depended so heavily on the USA in the areas of healthcare, security, education etc but these same poor countries are always quick to go against the US in international politics. Trump's sanctions have indeed shown that America remains the boss to these poor countries and so should be accorded all the loyalty due for a benefactor! God bless America! |
TruthU87:You have started chest beating again ![]() |
The easiest route to kill people in Nigeria without facing prosecution is to open a patent medicine store! You'll be permitted to kill people subtly without having to face the law. That's the sh1thole we call a nation for you! |
essentialone:I don't care if the majority of the people that would be killed are Igbos! Drastic measures just have to be taken to sanitize the drug markets in Nigeria! Those who genuinely want to do the business should do the right thing and follow the law. No short cuts! My Igbo people should know that there are standards for drug business. They must be made to abide by these standards because drug business is not like every other trades they engage in. If the death penalty is what it'll take for them to start adhering strictly to standards and avoid fake drugs sales, SO BE IT. |
I'm 100% in support! It is long overdue |
stasius:You're sure they're not doctors because you don't know that the majority of the so called doctors being churned out by most states' and private universities, especially in the southeast, are quacks One could not interpret simple laboratory tests results the other day! Make proper diagnosis of people's sicknesses they can't!A lot is going wrong in the system because there's little to no regulatory frameworks to put things in checks! It's quite unfortunate |
I see all the loan shark companies as criminal establishments where the operators take advantage of the poverty in the country and desperation on the parts of poor Nigerians to fraudulently enrich themselves. The exorbitant charges they take over a short period and the fact that they hide these charges until one has taken the loans give them out as scammers! Therefore, I won't blame anyone who fails in meeting their repayment obligations. It is a scammer vs scammer thing! |
The truth is that Prof Pate is working very hard to put the Nigerian health sector on the right footing. Buhari almost killed everything that was left of the sector during his 8years of purposeless rulership. He halted employment into our hospitals and also failed to invest in equipment procurement for critical procedures! Thank God for giving us prof Pate and I pray that God Almighty would grant him success as he works towards repositioning our health sector for the well-being of all. Nigeria has everything it takes to become a healthcare hub not only for the African continent but the world at large. We can beat the likes of India and China if we pay adequate attention to harnessing all the potentials which our health sector holds. Kudos to Prof Pate! |
No o! They shouldn't educate or empower the male child! Let's focus attention only on girl-child education while the boy child is left to suffer, later we turn around and tell the boy child how it is his responsibility to provide for his wife and children and absolve the empowered girl-child of any financial responsibilities to her family. The double standard is nauseating to say the least! |
