Yes it could be, but let him still work on it using the current exchange rate
Yuzee:
Hi guys,

It’s been a minute. So my friend was denied last Monday. The only reason they gave was because he failed to disclose his USA denial.

NB he disclosed this in first application but it was denied for financial reasons.

This second application he changed his sponsor, he ticked yes in the first question about being denied by Canada or any other country.
But forgot to explain for US, he only explained for the Canada denial(first application which was for financial reasons).

My question is… does this mean his finances look good now if the only reason for denial was that he didn’t disclose the us denial. He wants to reapply immediately and explain/apologize for failing to mention it.

No confirmation is done just once, what they can do is request from an updated statement from the applicant
Tobe1960:
Good morning, everyone, please is it possible for IRCC to call the bank to confirm if ones POF is still present in the account?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 9:19am On Oct 20, 2023
You need to research more about it. The first is a path to LPN, while the second is to RN

Some churches have a link with the local govt council while others don't, the certificate carries the local govt seal on it which is valid but in absence of this you will need from court or the local govt
emmyoddy:
Good evening everyone.
Please can an ordinary church wedding certificate with letter head, wedding pictures and other pictures, landed documents in our name serve as evidence of our marriage or I must do a court marriage before I apply for visa for both of us?
Thanks for your help

You can switch to nursing but you need to be convincing enough about it

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 10:41am On Oct 19, 2023
Every session is available on the portal
You need to separate the proof of means of funds from client information
surdik:
I have a question regarding the submission of supporting documents for my application. Should I scan all the documents together and upload them in a single file under the ‘additional documents’ section? Additionally, I couldn’t find any option to upload a passport photo. Is it not necessary because I will be providing one during the biometric process?

Thank you for your assistance.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 10:17am On Oct 19, 2023

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 12:24am On Oct 19, 2023
I won't advise you to use more than 1 sponsor
Idbell:
I want to use them as co-sponsor.
I will be the main sponsor, because am employed.
Am over 30.

ExcellenceAb:
Please, Sir. Can one exchange NGN to CAD at the Airport in Toronto? If its possible, what do you think the rate would be?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 9:54pm On Oct 18, 2023
Do you want to use 2 different sponsors? Hope you don't mind me asking about your age
Idbell:
Pls house what are the documents needed from a co-sponsor or support (cousin) from outside the country and another co-sponsor in Nigeria (blood brother)?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 9:52pm On Oct 18, 2023
Yes, you can present 2 different bank statements yours and that of your sponsor.
The asset shouldn't be that of your sponsor but yours, your initial application belongs to your supposed sponsor bearing your name, so it shouldn't be about your sponsor. You might want to work on that please
Daveconsult007:
In a scenario like this what do you suggest?

Can the applicant have a significant amount in his own account while the relative Co-sponsor.

Please, is it possible to present two bank statements?
The applicant and his Co-sponsor, a relative
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 6:56pm On Oct 18, 2023
The emphases is not your sponsor but you
Daveconsult007:
So the 50kCAD in his account is not good enough?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 4:20pm On Oct 18, 2023
From my estimated calculation 12M is insufficient. This is what you need to show that will cover your balance tuition fee and living expenses 14,253,840 NGN as POF, I will advise you to have more than that amount as miscellaneous is not among, adding miscellaneous will be up to 20M. You might want to work on that.
Note: This is only an estimated amount that cover your balance tuition fee, living expenses, and miscellaneous
peejay03:
Hello house,

I would like to know if 12million naira is sufficient for a 1 year course.

Tuition is 14,182cad. First semester tuition deposit of 6,200cad has been paid.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 4:07pm On Oct 18, 2023
There your problem lies, your sponsor's asset can not cover for you. it only demonstrate is financial stability. Please work on your own profile before attempting to reapply.
Daveconsult007:
The sponsor has 450k worth of asset. He provided it to demonstrate to the Visa Officer of his ability and capacity to sponsor the applicant
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 11:23am On Oct 18, 2023
Yes you can, but you are not left out in POF and assets should come from you
surdik:
Hello, i have paid my first semester fee, can i use my brother’s US bank statement as proof of funds and also as sponsor? please advise.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 11:22am On Oct 18, 2023
Good morning, I will advise she deposit it in bits while you gather your documents for submission
DabDab:
Good morning,

My husband got admission to st Lawrence college for fall 2024 and my sister wants to co sponsor him. Does she have to transfer a lump sum(20M) into his account or she should pay it in bits?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 11:17am On Oct 18, 2023
Good morning, I have some concern about the asset worth 450kcad, who owe the property?
Daveconsult007:
Greetings House ,

Gurus Please I need advice.

My friend got refused this morning and attached below is the message from the VO.

Here's some details.

My friend is being sponsored by his Canadian cousin who is a pharmacist, has 53kCAd in his account. He also attached property documents worth 450kcad and tax documents too.

My friend is studying a two-year(4semesters) PGD program, with a total 3 semester tuition costing around 22k( each semesteris 7k) 4th is CO-OP, no tuition, He has paid 7.7k CAD already.
.He also secured a 10kcad per session post-graduate scholarship award from his work place .

I'm a bit confused, is his relative based in canada not eligible to sponsor him?

Please how can someone who is 28 years demonstrate strong home Ties.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 8:03pm On Oct 17, 2023
Either you adopt her legally or you get consent from the parent with proof of your assistance to her
emmyoddy:
Please what are the requirements for traveling with my niece.
Her surname is different from mine.

Do I adopt her legally and change her name. She's already 12 and her documents are in her father's name but I'm yet to do her international passport.

Which name do I use for her passport.

People of God, make una help me out 🙏
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 7:19pm On Oct 17, 2023
There is nothing you can do for it to be open, you have to wait till they start Fall 2024 intake then you can apply. However, you can look out for other colleges in other provinces
DelCrux:
good evening gurus, have been trying to apply to conestoga college but the OCAS website is showing courses for 2024 spring are closed. Please what to do, your advices are duly appreciated
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 7:17pm On Oct 17, 2023
Your closing balance is sufficient enough, however, you need to work on other aspects such as asset and home ties. Returning to your job is a strong home tie among others
Kenny4real68:
Hi fellow Nairalanders,

PLEASE HELP ooo
I have an admission offer to study 1 year PGC in strategic management. My tuition fee is $18,263 cad. I have PAID my first semester tuition of $ 9,000 cad. As a banker, I intend to sponsor myself and my Acc statement has a closing balance of 22,500,000 naira which is equivalent of $40,000 cad( no lump sum). PLEASE IS THIS A GOOD POF Considering my second semester tuition of $9,263 cad and one year living expenses of $10,000 cad is covered, ( that’s visa officers still expect you to have reasonable money left in your account after your tuition and living expenses is shown)

It is best to use the black market rate this will give you an advantage if there is an increase in exchange. send an email for the group
Seunthewriter:
Please, an issue has been troubling my mind for a long time now.

When trying to provide the proof of funds, should I base it on the CBN rate or the black market rate?

Again, who has the link to the WhatsApp/Telegram group of prospective students at Fanshawe College?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 10:12am On Oct 17, 2023
Send me your email
ObodoNaija:
okay. I no longer have access to the email I used in opening this Nairaland account.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 10:22pm On Oct 16, 2023
22,000cad + 10,000cad + 4,000 miscellenious = 36,000cad should be enough
Note the above is an estimated amount
Emmanuelvictor:
Hello friends,

Please I would like to confirm how much will I need to have in my account as POF.
My tuition fee is 22000 cad and it's a 1 year master's program.

You should use a commercial bank, print a receipt and LOE to back it up you don't need the Microfinance bank statement of account
ChiomaMC:
Hello gurus in the house.
Please I work in a microfinance bank and that's the account my salary is paid. Can I use the account as my POF, or I should transfer the money to my commercial bank account. If I transfer the money to my commercial account, do I need to print the transfer receipts and do I need to show statement of account of my microfinance bank account as well or the transfer receipts is enough?. I'm confused on the best thing to do here.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 11:05am On Oct 16, 2023
If you have someone in Canada, USA or Europe who can help you with the payment, if not just go ahead with the options there before they withdrawn your admission
Iyke6505:
Please I need assistance. In my letter of admission from Conestoga college the payment options written there are Flywire, Convera and pay my tuition. These three payment channel uses black market rate which is way higher than official rate. This afternoon flywire rate is #820 as against official rate of #550 per CAD, please has anyone made payment to Conestoga college using Flutterwave, I heard they use official rate or any other payment channels different from these Flywire, Convera or pay my tuition. Thanks

You can proceed with any of the schools before you apply to the schools didn't you research them?
As long as there is a DLI and PGWP

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 10:36am On Oct 16, 2023
No, when you defer admission your space is reserve they will give you an instruction on what to do, some school will require you send an email to confirm your available to the deferred session
yansky:
Thank you for the response.

I have made full tuition payment. I want to know if the deferring isn’t successful, would I still have my current admission? Or would it be withdrawn?

For Conestoga College, you can only defer admission if make payment of your tuition fee at least the first semester
yansky:
Hi please I have a similar question. I tried to defer my admission with conestoga till may but they say deferring isn’t guaranteed. If I don’t get the deferred admission, will my current offer still stand since I had to withdraw to apply for a defer?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 12:30pm On Oct 13, 2023
