Christianity EtcRe: Justified—by Faith Or Works? by Joagbaje(m): 9:04am On Dec 03, 2011
I understand James perspective. He made a good point. Faith is dead without work. But the truth remains. A man is only justified by faith. Not by the works .that doesnt negate the place of the works
Christianity EtcRe: Justified—by Faith Or Works? by Joagbaje(m): 8:01am On Dec 03, 2011
The confusion on this is based on the differences between . James and Paul's revelation.

Romans 3:28
28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

James 2:24
24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

A man is justified by faith only. But faith has works, there are certain things which we require to do as our expression of faith. We can call them "works of faith" but it is not the these works that justifies but faith itself. So my point, faith has works, but the works are merely expression of faith.

We should rather dwell on Paul's revelation. James point to the fact that there are works of faith. But the only problem is that it is not the works that justifies. he alluded Abrahams justification to his work. That is not correct.

James 2:21
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?

Romans 4:2
2 If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about–but not before God.

A good example is our salvation and moral living. If you are saved , you live morally ,but it is not the moral living that brings salvation, it is only an expression of the God life in you. If a man lives morally without Christ ,he can't be saved , because it is not of works.

Ephesians 2:9
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Christianity EtcFasting : Your Personal Experience, What's The Longest Time You Have Fasted? by Joagbaje(op): 6:18am On Dec 03, 2011
Some Christians break their fasting by 3 pm or 6pm some even break it by 12noon!. While some others fast for a day ,some 3 days and one 7 days . Ive heard some fast for 40 days just like Moses,Elijah and Jesus. We hear others warn against long fasting.

I know some Christians love to fast but need some encouragement from those who have experienced fasting. I want us to relate our personal experiences here On what fasting has done to you, and how long your fast s lasted and the different results . This testimonies are to encourage the faith of others. We have read books on tastings but nothing can be more edifying than real life experience of others.

Personally I've not done a 40 day fast as some have but I desire to. I will like those who have done such to relate their experiences so that we can learn from them.

Either your fast is long or short ,pls share your testimony. Let's know how you did it and what benefit was it to you.

Christianity EtcWorking On Your Believing by Joagbaje(op): 11:09pm On Dec 02, 2011
Being surrounded with negative influences all around us. There are reasons to throw in the towel in a challenging situation. Seeing certain cases as impossible. But with God , nothing is impossible . What you see as impossible can become a possibility if you can believe .

Remember the man who brought his child to Jesus ,who seem to be under a curse of periodic attack. The father looked up to Jesus to see what jesus could do.

Mark 9:22
22 And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.

While he's hoping on Jesus ,Jesus was rather looking at the mans faith. What can you believe for?

Mark 9:23
23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

Many times we put responsibility on God in situation where he put responsibility on our believing . Sometimes we convince ourselves that we believe just because we are desperate , but being desperate is not necessary a sign of faith. Faith is to trust the word of God for what it says and puting it into action.

Sometimes we experience delays and himderepances when our faith is not strong enough. Instead if waiting on God, we should develop our faiths to be strong., strong enough to deal with the situation. If we can believe , It is possible

A BABY AT LAST
… After 14 years childlessness

After spending a tortuous 14 years in the valley of childlessness, the prayers of Mr. and Mrs. Marcel Adimma was finally answered this year when God blessed them with a bouncing baby boy.

Several years back, Beatrice Adimma, a receptionist at Ikoyi Club, Lagos, went for check-up, her doctor told her that she cannot have a baby until she submits for fibroid surgery. She refused to go for surgery.

Scan examination showed that Adimma had fibroid growing on top of her fallopian tube, which obstructed the normal functions of the tube. Medically, there is no way she would conceive except the fibroid is removed by operation.

However, the Adimmas worship at Perfect Christian Ministry, where a man of God and a miracle worker, Rev. Sign Fireman is the pastor. They joined the ministry last year. The man of God prophesied that the woman will become pregnant before six months and it happened exactly that way. Before the six months elapsed, she conceived.

Mrs. Adimma said: "God used Rev. Sign Fireman to deliver me. I believe the problem had spiritual undertones. I refused to go for fibroid operation, and did not have any surgery before I took in. The pastor just laid hands on me prayed for me and prophesied that I will be pregnant before six months.
"The very month I wanted to adopt a child from the motherless babies home was the very month God intervened. I told the pastor I wanted to adopt a child and he said I should not go for adoption. I will have my own child."

Before meeting Rev. Sign Fireman last year, Mrs. Adimma had been treating the fibroid with herbs. And she had also been to several churches in search of divine intervention.
She said, "a time came I lost hope. My mother-in-law and my husband kept encouraging me. Especially, after I consulted an expatriate doctor who said I should forget about getting pregnant because of the fibroid, I lost hope completely. I believed the report of the medical doctor. I thank God for the man he used, Rev. Sign Fireman, he kept encouraging me, giving me hope. He told me that if God does not do it, then he is not a man of God."

For Mr. Adimma, if his wife lost hope that they would have a baby, he did not. He said: "As we were looking for solution, I knew too well there was spiritual undertone to it. That was why I kept encouraging her and didn’t allow anybody to discuss it with me. Moreover, God had spoken long concerning the situation, that she will have a baby. Since 1996, I have been having the revelation that my wife had a baby. I believed what God was telling me through revelation, and that strengthened my faith. So, I remained focused, avoided distraction, because I know what God has spoken must surely come to pass.
"The problem with a lot of people is that they run out of patience. I never ran out of patience. When my wife ran out of patience, I kept encouraging her. I will ask her how old are you? Have you forgotten some of your mates are still single?

"When she wanted to adopt a child, I said no. I told her the Lord says you are not barren. We are still young, there are still many years ahead of us to have babies. I am not against adoption, but it should be seen as charity, not alternative to your own child. So, I told her to forget adoption, that God will do it.
"The delivery of the baby was another battle. The baby’s hands were tied with the umbilical cord to the neck. There was no way the baby would have come out through the birth canal that way, so she was delivered by caesarean section.

"After the delivery, we discovered that the baby’s hands were tied. They used a cord to tie the hands, and used another cord to tie the two hands to the neck. During the delivery, we were in contact with my pastor on phone. He kept encouraging me that the baby will come out anyhow, irrespective of what the devil is trying to do. Because we got the revelation through a visiting pastor during our convention.
"He said God has delivered me, but actually that he saw a baby that was tied in the womb. There, at the convention, he made me understand I will have a baby boy, but the baby will be tied. But that I will deliver the baby ‘anyhow’ irrespective of the battle.

"As the labour progressed, and the baby was not coming out, the pastor had to come to the hospital and prayed for me. He told me not to bother, that all he knows is that both mother and child will be alive. The plan of the devil was to take my life during the delivery.
"When the baby came out, my doctor called me and said this is your baby, look at how he was tied. It was an attack. The doctor did not intend to deliver me through caesarean section, it was me that suggested it because I was getting weak because of prolonged labour.

"The doctor was shocked when the baby come out, he said he had not seen such a thing before, a baby tied with the umbilical cord. He said there was no way I would have delivered through the normal way. Funny enough, all the scan I did, none showed the baby was tied. The doctor said he was shocked.
When contacted, Dr Francis Obi, Medical Director, His Mercy Hospital, Orile, Lagos, confirmed that the baby was tied. "The baby was tied with umbilical cord, a situation that can strangle a baby in the womb before delivery. Though we saw it physically, there is no doubt it could have spiritual undertones. I was shocked."
If you still doubt the man , Go and investigate this story. Name address hospital all supplied .

Christianity EtcRe: Your View On Chiftency Title: What Is The Bible Way? by Joagbaje(m): 7:32pm On Dec 02, 2011
God is not against chieftancy. Every government is ordained of God.

Romans 13:1
1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

A christian can be king of chief . But it depends on the definition of that office. You can Christianise your world. Give them condition for acceptance. It's not every office or title a christian can accept . "chief priest " for example are abomination. But a christian can function in an office of influence or authority with the mind of using it for righteousness. I know some local government chairmen who preach the gospel. But if the office or title will not give room fo the expression of zgod righteousness, fleee.

Christianity EtcRe: self-service,HOW DO CHRISTIANS STOP IT??? by Joagbaje(m): 7:15pm On Dec 02, 2011
Its a bad habit. The way to stop it is to make decision to stop. You have to apply the power of the word of God to saturate your entire being. (I'm talking about the individual who has a problem with it). Just like every works of the flesh . When you walk in the spirit which is Gods word, your passion begins to die to such lust.

Galatians 5:16
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Colossians 3:16
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom. . ,

Christianity EtcRe: TB Joshua Vs Dr Sign Fireman: Who's Faker? by Joagbaje(m): 7:33am On Dec 02, 2011
I had said It seem extreme to me . But the intention is not to encourage people to live hot Worldly lifestyle. We easily judge others by their actions but we judge ourselves by our motives and intentions . It will be nice for us to judge others by their intentions not just the action.

My point is that , we can condemn an action, but not the person. Someone may make a honest mistake with good intention for God.

It's like someone wants to reach out to big boys or youth Corpers, and they print a flier targeted at them. It's the intention we should see.
