Christianity EtcRe: Keep Your Wife Away From Pastors, Many Pastors Are Demons & Lovers Of Money by Joagbaje(m): 10:57pm On Apr 17, 2011
MrBible:
instead he was interested in the investments that my wife has. This pastor pretends his is Jesus when he is preaching, this is a pastor that taught us on Sundays that a mans enemy are members of his own household including in-laws and extended families.  These pastors are lovers of money and not Jesus.
These pastors will burn in the hottest oven in hell AMEN, AMEN, AMEN
What's this investment of your wife. And how is the pastor showing interest? Did he ask for his own share or what? You didn't explain anything but you're busy sentencing the man to Hell.

I'm talking about signing up others to follow pastor chris. Our primary use of Yookos is to raise people for intercession for the world. It's a prayer network. So we get people signed up and they can recieve SMS and YOOKS on what prayer topic for that day. And every body allover the world would be praying at thesame time. That's the spiritual part.  but it Is also open for every other person to use as a social network.

Enigma:
In relation to whether Jesus and apostles tithed you said

In relation to whether Jesus and the apostles made burnt offering sacrifice, you said

Do you see your own double standards?

EDIT: Meanwhile when Jesus was born you forget about the turtle doves that were offered?
The question was not about Jesus doing  burn offering but about churches doing  burnt offerings.Jesus fulfilled all righteousness as a Jew. God had foretold he was no longer satisfied with blood of bulls. After the blood of christ had been offered. There was no need for burnt offering. A burnt offering is a Sin offering. Jesus had fulfilled it.

Hebrews 10:12
12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
Christianity EtcTrue Humility Is Submitting To The Lordship Of The Word- Pastor Chris by Joagbaje(op): 5:22pm On Apr 16, 2011
Philippians 2:8-9
And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name ().

Humility is a quality of the recreated human spirit that attracts divine favour and promotion. It’s an inner ability – a – vital force – which enables you to respond with absolute submissiveness to the Lordship of Jesus Christ through the Word of God. It’s often expressed in action by the willingness to take on the responsibility of service to others, in loyalty to the Word.

The Lord Jesus lived a practical example of what true humility is. Firstly, He demonstrated His total submission to the will of God as it is written in Hebrews 10:7: “Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.” Secondly, in pursuance of this resolve, the Bible tells us in Philippians 2:6-9, that though He was equal with God, He didn’t count His equality with God anything to latch on to. Rather, He made Himself of no reputation and took upon Him the form of a servant and became obedient unto death. Thus, for this reason God exalted Him and gave Him a name which is above every name.

As believers in Christ, the Scriptures enjoin us to humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God that we might be exalted in due time (1 Peter 5:6). We’re to have the mind of Christ and emulate His humility. True humility for us is to be submissive to the Lordship of the Word of God. So you’ve got to know the Word and let the Word guide your thoughts, your words, and all you do. That’s the way to be submissive to Jesus, for He is the Living Word. And just as Jesus was exalted for doing the Father’s will, you too will be promoted from glory to glory.

Prayer
Dear Father, I thank you for blessing me with your Word and for the glorious life you’ve given me in Christ! I’m glad to have Jesus as Lord of my life; to be controlled and ruled by His Word! Thus, I’m moving upward and forward and prospering in everything I do, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

1 Peter 5:5-6
Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

James 4:10
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

It is scriptural to sow in the life of your minister.

Galatians 6:6-10
6 Let him that is taught in the word communicate (Give) unto him that teacheth in all good things.
7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. 10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Did Jesus or the disciples offer any? The blood of Jesus became the perfect sacrifice. Jesus fulfilled them.
The observation of the sabbath preceeded the law also.

Christianity EtcOur Preparation In Prayer – Pastor Chris by Joagbaje(op): 5:58pm On Apr 15, 2011
Acts 4:31
And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness

In our drive for soul winning, something important we must take into consideration is our preparation in prayer. Our preparation in prayer is crucial to the success of any soul-winning endeavour you might want to undertake, be it one-on-one evangelism, church services, or even crusades. As you prayerfully prepare for such outings, you make grace available for your hearers to receive the Gospel and profit by it.

Once, years ago, two blind women went for a crusade. While at the crusade, they listened, not understanding English or the language of interpretation. All they knew was that the crusade was a meeting where Jesus was being preached and healings were taking place. The interesting thing was they both received their sight that night. How did faith come to them? It was by the Spirit; the Holy Spirit granted them understanding of what was being said though they naturally didn’t understand the spoken languages.

It’s like what happened on the day of Pentecost; the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples present at the Upper Room and they all spoke with other tongues. They made so much noise that a multitude gathered to see what was going on. As Peter and the other disciples spoke in other tongues, the Bible says.
“…every man heard them speak in his own language” (Acts 2:6).
The multitude was confused because they knew the disciples were all Galileans, yet they spoke in their mother tongues. This was a miracle indeed because God gave the onlookers understanding of what the disciples said in other tongues.

Our preparation in prayer causes miracles like these to happen! Perhaps you’ve invited someone to church who isn’t born again and you want him to receive salvation; here’s where your preparation in prayer comes in. Your prayer releases the ministry of the Spirit such that, no matter what the preacher is talking about, even if it isn’t about salvation, that invitee would receive understanding about salvation because the Holy Spirit is a master communicator. He can bring the message of the Gospel to everyone at their level.

Prayer
Dear Father, I thank you for giving me the opportunity to preach the Gospel and be a blessing to my world. I pray for everyone who will hear your message through me, that grace will be granted them to understand and receive it with faith, in Jesus’ Name.

grin OK since you have taken up the task (I still await the Greybeard etc), what about the New Testament.

Who canonised the New Testament and when?   grin
The compilation of the old testament and canonisation was attributed to Ezra the scribe. He divided it into 2 major division "The law" and "the prophets" that's why Jesus use that phrase often to make references to scriptures.

Nehemiah 8:5-7
5 And Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people; (for he was above all the peoplewink and when he opened it, all the people stood up: 6 And Ezra blessed the Lord, the great God. And all the people answered, Amen, Amen, with lifting up their hands: and they bowed their heads, and worshipped the LORD with their faces to the ground. 7 Also Jeshua, and Bani, and Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodijah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites, caused the people to understand the law: and the people stood in their place.

There is a more clearer scripture in Nehemiah I'm still trying to find.

What do you make of a scripture like this.

Mark 16:17-18
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

@Mr J
I am going to get very personal now : YOU CANNOT BE A CHRISTIAN - YOU ARE A FRAUDULENT B*ST*RD.

you have published pictures of a man here in that state, why ? To prove you can perform miracles ?

If those pictures are genuine (which is in doubt) do you think the man will be happy to see a picture of himself like that ? To think that you pastor a church is nothing short of incredible and the whole pentecostal movement in Nigeria should be ashamed that someone like you can be anywhere near a church!!

If your miracles are genuine and I am just riduculing me you should not go to such lengths (let your actions prove your miracles) - this is the lowest/most despicable thing I have seen. How can you live with yourself after doing this ? I suggest you take these pictures down now.

The irony of what you have just done is that the pictures dont prove anything - been half dead and getting better does not prove you are able to raise DEAD people.

You should hang your head in shame if you took that first picture!
Get personal well well. The devil in you is angry at a testimony. For your information , I have his permission . He is not ashame . Do you know he would died?  He is greatfult to God. It's people like you that wanted to kill  Lazarus after they heard the testimony.

WHERE DID YOU GET THE FIRST PICTURE FROM ? If you took that picture yourself - it means you saw a man in that state and your first act was to take pictures ! To do what ?? To prove your powers ??
Of course I took the picture with my iPhone . Actually it was a short video. Just incase police and people like you.

dare2think:
What exactly did you do to this man ?

If you helped him to the Hospital, I REALLY COMMEND YOU.
Was he dead? and did you raise him from the dead
What is this man's story,, I'm genuinely interested.
It was in another thread. I drove pass his body lying by road side.( I later learnt he has been there for 4 days) I had thought he was dead. I reversed and came down . I obseved he was breathing . I got people to carry him in to my car to the hospital. I finally got someone who recognised him to go and call his family members. While the doctors and nurses attended to him. But When the family came they in the bid to shift blame from themselves began to blame him. That he had mental problem. " he dey crase , na so e dey run commot for house" etc. On hearing this, the doctor refused to admit him. But it took intercession in prayer before God touched their heart. He was finally admitted , they bandaged his body and tied him with ropes on a bed.  I didnt give up on his case because I had heard God well.

I later learn that he was a brilliant boy in school and they did juju on him etc. Following day Or so, i prayed for him and rebuked the demon of insanity. I also led him to christ. And few days after,  I heard that he was the one leading prayers in the hospital ward. He was healed.
