Christianity EtcRe: Who Do You Pay Your Tithe To? by Joagbaje(m): 11:13am On Apr 27, 2011
Godmother:
My girlfriend sometimes pays her tithe to a pastor of a church she attends. She actually attends two churches. I have tried warning her about this. My fear is that if this man is not a true man of God, then she is just 'dashing' him her money.

And he doesnt really have a church. Just a kind of saturday fellowship where 6 to 10 people meet at his house from morning to evening
You ought to have one pastor at a time. And you give your tithes and offering there. In the church where God  has planted you through the pastor you are submitted to. Every pastor is not you pastor.

1 Corinthians 4:15-16 (living)
15 For although you may have ten thousand others to teach you about Christ, remember that you have only me as your father. For I was the one who brought you to Christ when I preached the Gospel to you. 16 So I beg you to follow my example and do as I do.

But if you feel led to sow into the life of another person either he is a pastor or not , you are free to do so but not with the tithe.

mr oshob you have the idea of Christianity wrong. I'm still praying and looking for best opportunity to discuss certain issues. The church duty to the world is not charity.the church is not a charity organisation. What we owe the world is the gospel.

Mark 16:15
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Acts 10:42
42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.

Acts 1:8
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

The scriptures are too numerous but this is just to mention few.

Now the ideas of charity. Is our duty to one another in the body of christ but not our duty to the world or on the streets. We can do that when we have the chance but it is not our primary purpose. What we owe the world is the message of salvation. Jesus preach to the Jews in that light because they were all the seed of Abraham.

I agree love is the greatest revelation. We ought to walk in love among ourselves as Christians and help one another. That is in house. But externally what our primary duty to the world is to give them the gospel and bring them in.

We can share things with people but God expects us to share With the brethren in church first before going outside.

Galatians 6:10
10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

True the ultimate task of christianity is "Go ye into the world and make disciples of all nations" (Soul Winning).
Beautiful !

TELL THEM

But I still think criticizing pastors is way off the track especially if you have not had the opportunity of being a member and understanding the vision of such denominations.

Believe me, you are better off in life not believing in a fictional story of an imaginary diety in a fabricated white-man story. Of course the fanatics will scare you with hell-fire. Be a free thinker, love people, live your life as best as possible, religion limits, puts you in a coma, you will be living this life in a trans waiting for a white man to come in the sky on a white horse grin to save you which will never happen.
Do you honestly believe the bible as fiction?

Acts 16:25 MSG
Along about midnight, Paul and Silas were at prayer and singing a robust hymn to God. The other prisoners couldn’t believe their ears
().

2 Chronicles 20 gives the inspiring account of how the children of Judah were surrounded and outnumbered by three enemy nations. Then the king of Judah, Jehoshaphat, proclaimed a fast throughout the land, and while they prayed and fasted, the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel the Levite and he spoke forth the mind of God:

And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s” (2 Chronicles 20:15).

With those words of prophecy burning in his spirit, king Jehoshaphat consulted with the people and appointed singers unto the Lord, to march ahead of the troops, singing, “…Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth for ever” (2 Chronicles 20:21). As they sang and praised God, the power of God was activated, and their enemies were discomfited! They praised their way to victory! The fervency and vibrancy of their praise caused the angels of God to go into action and cause pandemonium in the enemy’s camp! The enemy soldiers turned their swords on each other, killing one another. By the time God’s people got to the scene the enemies were all dead! (2 Chronicles 20:22-24).

You discomfit the enemy and activate the power of God when you praise God from your spirit fervently and passionately, irrespective and independent of circumstances! Paul and Silas experienced this when they were imprisoned for doing the Lord’s will. Rather than gripe, complain or despair, they praised their way to victory! They stirred the power of God’s Spirit through praise and they were gloriously delivered (Acts 16:25-26).

I urge you to put this to work in your life always! Learn to praise your way to victory, irrespective of the seemingly hopeless situation you may be facing. The Bible says “In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you” (1 Thessalonians 5:18). As you offer words of praise to the Lord from your spirit and extol His majesty, irrespective of the adversity, you’re establishing your victory. So, in spite of that challenge or difficult situation, shout His praise; and your victory will be undenied.

Prayer
Dear Father I thank you for your love, kindness, mercy and grace towards me today and always! Thank you for being such a faithful Lord and deliverer. I exalt your holy Name for the victory that I have in you, and the glorious life that you’ve given me in Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Psalm 22:3
But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

Acts 16:25-26
And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed

Jesus didn't say so.

so does it mean if a sane man doesnt believe in Jesus,is he destined to perish?
I have a feeling you meant to say "an insane man" if that's what you mean. An insane man will not be destroyed if he never had opportunity to hear the gospel. But if he had heard the gospel and he rejected it before his insanity , he will be judged by what he heard. Im sure you are not insane, you can respond to the gospel now.

Enigma:
Now you are asking the point when you started it? Do you notice that I was not even part of the discussion until you started dragging Jesus' name in the mud as is customary with you? OK here are some points for you:

1. STOP dragging Jesus' name in the mud and worse with lies and Bible twisting and manipulation.
2. STOP comparing Jesus with MOGs --- the way you do it in particular is disgraceful and lacking integrity
3 Re 2 above, it is lacking integrity because you are trying to justify your empty and shameful boast that Oyaks and co are doing greater things than Jesus by lying against Jesus saying things like "he hid" or "he ran".
4 STOP treating and presenting Jesus, even in His time and ministry on earth, as just a man; if you don't understand the passage "he came in the flesh" ask for someone to explain it to you.
5 STOP belittling Jesus and placing Him at a level even lower than yourself and opaks Oyaks
6 In relation to the thread topic, no one is saying you and your MOGs should not have reaasonable security: the two major problems are (a) the hypocrisy of saying you have all these powers of miracles yet you need security (then lying about Jesus) to defend the insanity; (b) the cause and effect of the necessity for the security --- the MOG has become so exalted and full of himself or has been over exalted that his name and persona is more important than the message or even Christ.

Finally, did i say STOP telling lies against Jesus and STOP dragging His name in the mud? Maybe I didn't --- so STOP telling lies against Jesus and DTOP dragging His name in the mud!!!
Im sorry if such impression is suggested. But it's not true. I take the word for what he says. I honestly don't enjoy a thread like this. So don't think I'm having fun. Its those who mske a sport of attacking preachers and churches . Men who dont know the worth of a soul to God that are dragging the name of christ in mud. We ought to make post that will save sinners or posts that will build the body of christ and not all these evil speakings about churches and ministers who are labouring day and night interceding for people to get saved.

They must have escaped too obviously. Peters denial was proof

And I see you have not addressed Strong's explanation of "he escaped" instead you want to insist on conjuring "he ran" --- something that it would seem you are conjuring from your backside!
I don't want to waste my time on that. The bible was clear. A Greek work could have multiple meaning but when you study in context it will be clear. Why will you leave the clear english to complicate Greek . The experts have done a good job ,let's not try complicate it. You just looking for where to bury this thing.

Let me take your (c) definition in the Greek. Which says "to go forth from one's power, escape from it in safety"  it's still the same thing.  It suggests even as though they had laid hold on him and he broke off from them and escaped .

So what's your point . Now we are dwelling on petty an minor issue. A word could mean several things in English. But based on the context you get the mind of the writer.  The truth is communicated clearly . He slipped away, hid himself he escaped. What is your point really. And mind you this thing didn't occur only once  in Jesus life. The bible recorded such incidence in about 3 occasions

If you would NOW use the Hebrew and Greek bibles which you normally massacre to get money out of innocent people on the same verse, you would find a total different meaning.

The word used is translated to mean "concealment", to make secret (disappear), not to hide like a common criminal.

κρύπτω
kruptō
kroop'-to
A primary verb; to conceal (properly by covering): - keep secret, secret [-ly].

Jesus "concealed" Himself. Hiding is what oyaks does when he refuses to face anybody that can ask questions that will
embarrass him and show hjim for the fraudster he is. Jesus did not behave like that
What you talking? Why would he conceal himself? What was he afraid of? And that doesn't suggest disappearance. Don't try to manipulate it. Read other scriptures . Jesus will rather be laughing at you.
Christianity EtcRe: Pastors And Body Guards. by Joagbaje(m): 1:02am On Apr 27, 2011
Jesus didnt come as God . Even though he is God. He came as a man. Don't forget that. He was hungry ,he was angry, he trembled , he feared . He wept.  He was 100% man. He was tempted . He would not be qualified to be our example if he cheated. But he didn't cheat . He emptied himself (kenosis) to be a man.  That's what made him a bonafide representative of man. If he had come as a supernatural spirit , then that would be cheating.

Hebrews 4:15
15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

So, you guys should not create an idea of Jesus that he was not. He walked by faith and by the holyghost. Stop helping Jesus . That's what led many into error.

2 John 1:7
7 For many deceivers are entered into the world,
who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

Can I ask you a question?
pls, how come A man of God can raise the dead, cure the sick, bring about prosperity yet cannot guarantee his own safety?
The anointing upon a minister is for others. He is anointed to minister to others. The anointing is not for himself. There are different kinds of anointings. There is a general anointing for christian life. There is another anointing for ministry, and ministry is about people ,how to help them. A man can not live by this anointing because it's not for himself. It takes his own personal faith to deal with issues in his own life. That's why it is possible for a man to heal the blind eyes and yet he himself is using eyeglass ! . I have seen a minister collected eyeglasses from others and broke them and they got instant healing but he is still using eye glass!. Why , it was the anointing that healed the people . That anointing can't heal him. It takes His own faith has to get healed. Elisha was heavily anointed . He raised the dead, yet with the anointing in him ,he died of sickness. Even after death,a dead man that was thrown into his grave came alive on contact with Elisha bones. Power was still in his bones! Yet he couldn't heal himself . He died sick.

But security matter is just common sense. Your healing anointing won't protect you. Your faith will protect you. But you still take measures. I'm sure Jesus will lock his room door at night. We saw him ran to escape a mob. when he heard Herod was after him,He refused to walk in the Jewry. Was he not a healer and a dead raiser?  We don't walk in the spirit 24/7.  Why did Jesus run?

1 Peter 2:9
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light

Christianity is not a religion; it’s Christ alive in you; divinity at work in humanity. As Christians, we are called to show Christ alive to our world. The world knows that He died, but many are not sure where He went to; they need proof that He was truly raised from the dead. Our responsibility therefore is to present Him alive in our day.

This understanding informed the song we used in years gone by as theme song for our crusades. Back then we would go into villages and areas in the back side of civilization singing: “He’s alive, amen, He’s alive, Jesus is alive forever He’s alive amen!” It was such a great crusade song and it got people inquiring to know more about Jesus being alive. The import of that song could be an objective fact to many, but until it becomes a subjective reality to you, you haven’t started.

This is the reason every Christian has to be alive – live-wire – for were ministering one who was raised from the dead; were ministering the risen Christ. It's one thing to preach or announce that Jesus is alive; it’s another thing to show Him alive. Our responsibility is to show Him alive. Often times we say “Christ lives in me,” yes He does. But that doesn’t mean He’s expressed through you. So the question you must answer is whether He talks, walks or lives thought you. Is He alive in you?

Blessed be God, Christ is alive in me! He’s alive in every fibre of my being, every bone of my body, and every cell of my blood! He lives in me. So I’ll never be defeated. I’m a success for life, because He lives in me. This should be your thinking; you’re His living tabernacle; you carry Him everywhere you go! When you show up, He shows up. Believe it, for that’s Christianity; Christ taking up His abode in you and touching the world through you!

Confession
Christ is alive in me, in every fiber of my being, every bone of my body, every cell of my blood. He’s the living light of my life, and I shine forth with His glory today! My life is a manifestation of His glory as I live for Him daily. Hallelujah.

Christianity EtcWhat Have You Done With The Word? – Pastor Chris by Joagbaje(op): 6:51pm On Apr 26, 2011
Haggai 2:5 MSG
Put into action the word I covenanted with you when you left Egypt I’m living and breathing among you right now. Don’t be timid. Don’t hold back

There’s a new understanding the Spirit of God wants us to have as to the way He wants us to think and function in life. He wants us to know it’s our responsibility, not God’s, to see to it that His Word comes to pass in our lives! His Word has already been given, and it’s forever settled in heaven (Psalm 119:89). He said in Isaiah 55:11
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”

Thus, the infallibility and power of God’s Word is incontestable. The Word will work and produce results for anyone who acts on it. So your responsibility as a Christian is to work the Word and bring it to pass in your life! Someone may say, “I’ve been a Christian for twenty five years, but I can’t see what the Word of God has done for me!” The Word of God wasn’t meant to do anything for you; it was given to you to live by; to chart your course in life, you’re the one to do something with the Word! So what have you done with the Word? That’s the question you should answer!

For example, at the beginning of this year, the Lord gave you His Word – a theme for the year. What have you done with that word? You’re supposed to take it and run with it! You tell yourself “I’m going to be a burning and a shining light everywhere I go! The fire of God for the Gospel will burn in my bones; therefore I’ll not keep quiet but make His salvation known to the world! I’m going to light up my world and impact the lives of men and women with the power of God!”

If this becomes your consciousness you’ll be amazed at the extent and magnitude of your testimonies of victory and success at the end of the year! Some people who don’t understand this are still expecting the year to bring them something, not realizing they’re the ones to bring something into the year by acting on the Word. God’s Word always produces results when you act on it! If you sit and wait for the results to come, you’ll never get them.

Think for a moment about 1 Peter 2:24: “…by whose stripes ye were healed,” what have you done with this truth? For a Christian to cry to God for healing having come across this truth means he’s ignorant or trying to shelve his responsibility. You’re the caretaker of your body and you ought to decide what happens to it. If anything goes wrong with it, then heal it with the Word of God! Do something today with the Word that has already been given to you!

Confession
I’m what God says I am. The Word of God is working in me mightily and moving me forward. This I prove today by putting it to work in every area of my life and I see it produce in me what it talks about. Praise God!
