i think they shud really make themselves available/presentable and even socialize more..
there are guyz out there that wud love to meet them but might be thinking they are engaged already, while they (the ladies) being a devoted christian, those guyz wudnt want to open up to them, with the mind that they wudnt want to double date..

meanwhile i m not saying they shud backslide, but i think they shud limit their church activities a bit.. they should also limit their holy holy routine.. (work-house-church-house-sleep).. they shud try and socialize a little, crack joke, and be opened... the moment their secret admirer sees them with just one guy playing with them openly, they will surely come out of their shell...

For individual brilliancy, I will give it to the 1993 squad but for complete team football I give it to the 2013 squad who average at least 2 goals a game..

Am I sports on??

very very...

1993 squad success could be attributed to the players individual brilliance..
but 2013 set, yes individual brilliance on one hand but the coaches/trainers impact cant be neglected...

gone are those days when we just watch football to know the end result..
this days, we have over 150million viewers who double up as coaches in there room grin grin watching football to analyse, compare and even rate overall performance.. now we concentrate on pass accuracy, interception, tackles won, shot on target, goal ratio, possession and even work rate.. tell if we care about all this 10years ago..

this days, result dont matter much, good football does...
an average nigeria want a team that play like barca, successful like madrid, tactically discipline like chelsea... bye-bye to the days of baby daddies with shaving stick playing age grade competition...

Manu Garba should opt for a 4-2-3-1 formation or a 4-5-1 formation..

right from the u-17, 4-2-3-1 has been manu preference. and that is the template he used to built this team.. i dont see him changing it now..

at most 4-1-3-2 if in need of goal

With the imminent return of Kelechi Iheanacho, the U-20 has a "second striker". Don't mistake him for one, but you will be forgiven for thinking a boy who has scored over 25 goals (including qualifiers and friendly matches) and made 10+ assists is a striker!

Question 1:
Interviewer: Define “boring” within the scope of your profession
Arsene Wenger: Boring is when a team decides to play 10 men behind the ball (Parking the bus), in order to frustrate the opponent and prevent them from scoring..
Jose Mourinho: Boring is 10 years without an EPL title

Question 2:
Interviewer: Define “success” within the scope of your profession
Arsene Wenger: success is the ability of a coach to maintain high standard (Top 4) with budget constraint
Jose Mourinho: success is the ability of a coach to fill his cabinet with trophies and medals either by hook or crook

Question 3:
Interviewer: how do you handle “the most difficult situation” (Injury, suspension, fatigue, complacency) in your team?
Arsene Wenger: I hold on to my philosophy come rain come shine
Jose Mourinho: I don’t toy with (handle) situations, I deal with it (play dirty)

like for Jose, Share for Prof... grin grin grin

i dont know if this shud be in joke or sport section, mod shud do the needful if necessary..

no i believe Nwobodo is more of a facilitator while Moses is more CR7 i honestly feel Moses should come off the bench as a super sub. we won't miss Nwobodo cuz we have Yahaya who is a little similar only difference is his enhanced eye for goal.

wait till yu see moses in action.. yes he is more of CR7 but the same aggressiveness and eye for goal with nwobodo.. meanwhile, only if moses make it.. not to also forget the fact the the strength of this team lies in the team work and not individual qualities which is just a plus.. i trust manu to take care of that..

you're not sure of Moses so you in fact do NOT have a replacement just yet.

and i do not think both of them play the same position, so Nwobodo will be sorely missed, hopefully, we'll get a replacement who will ensure his absence isn't felt

i guess genk is trying to toy with the gentleman agreement they had with the nff.. if simon were to be a south american player they wudnt wanna do that.. and yes they play d same position and almost same style of play.. only that moses is more exposed n experienced..

they both love to play frm d left side of attack... layoff, dribble and directness...

What do you think?

i think we should just wait till after the world cup (provided he make the final cut)...

however, i dont think Nacho prowess in front of goal shud take precedence over other attribute which i think he has "comparative advantage" over others in his age group... he has succesful dribbling accuracy rate than our own neymar (yahyah), pass completion rate better than nwakali and nwobodo combine, even idowu cant boast of better completion rate..

lets take a look at his goal scoring ability, is he more clinical than Awoniyi or Success..? if as a striker, can he play as a lone man striker like those 2?
against a team that park the bus, the job of a lone man striker is to hold up play to bring in other players, so can Nacho hold up play better than those 2?... so if you are looking at his composure in front of goal while neglecting other attribute of a complete striker, then you are misleading this young lad...

if i were to be his coach, i will put him in position where he has comparative advantage ahead of other players, which is free role in the attacking trio behind the striker..

checkuot Patrick Bamford on whoscore.com and see why he will never be a use as a lone man striker... he is just a striking resemblance of our own Nacho...

Under Coach Guardiola, Messi became a point man. Ibrahimovic, Pedro and Villa were made to feed Messi.

###

'It was a childhood dream and I was walking on air,' said Ibrahimovic. 'It started well but then Messi started to talk.

'He wanted to play in the middle, not on the wing, so the system changed from 4-3-3 to 4-5-1. I was sacrificed and no longer had the freedom on the pitch I need to succeed.

'So I asked for a meeting with Guardiola - for a discussion, not an argument. I said I was being used in the wrong way and that they shouldn't have bought me if they wanted another type of player.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2057549/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-blames-Lionel-Messi-Pep-Guardiola-Barcelona-flop.html

and that was when ETO, Dinho and Deco all left barca
after Abracadabra experiment failed, they had to go back to status quo..
i wouldn't want to derail this thread just for messi argument

I disagree. The greatest creative attacking midfielder in the history of the Super Eagles is Austin Jay Jay Okocha. However, I watched an interview where Jay-Jay said he wished he was played as a striker.

I believe Nacho is to make a choice, he will prefer to be a Messi than an Iniesta.

and that messi is an out n out striker??..

anyway, that is for anoda day.. i see more of messi in nacho though...

TheGoodJoe:

City scouts monitor him at the WYC but the question is, If you line up our flying eagles attacking talent, who is the best striker among them?

If it is Nacho and he is best as a striker than a midfielder then I think it is best for Nacho to lead the attack of the Flying Eagles. Well let us see what Coach Manu Garba and his crew decide.

and i am very sure, if it were to be left to Nacho making the decision, he will prefer the supporting role than leading the attack.. we will have to wait till the world cup though.. but believe me when i say, Nacho wont make the front 2 even if Manu decides to play 2 man attack...

most trending formation now is the 4-2-3-1 which manu played throughout the AYC... i dont see him changing it during the world cup proper.. i see Nacho flourishing in the same role patrick bamford plays for middlesbrough..

even if City plays Iheanacho as a defender, you'll say that's his best role as well.

Opinions of City fans will not be highly rated due to sentiments.....Kelechi is great at passimg and good at finishing.he's a better AM than Striker

TheGoodJoe:

I believe playing Nacho in any other role except as a striker will hinder his best quality which is finishing. Note, at Man City, Nacho trains everyday as a striker. Playing him in any other role will also hinder the impact of his training.

At the end, the most important prize is the World Youth Championship title. I believe Manu Garba will make the best choice for the team.

city preparing nacho to be a striker should be a plus agreed.. but at his age, he has the versatility.. AM, RWF, LWF, SS, and Point Man.. the next 2 years will be crucial for him though.. whichever role he flourish most at the world cup should take precedence whether city likes it or not..

remember jack wilshere at a point in time played almost every position upfront.. until when wenger finally converted him to cmf.. and if not for injury, he wud have been a force to reckon with in the world of CMF..

in Nacho's case, Manu Garba is in best position to outline the best role for him... City only want him where they think he is influential, forgetting about other comparative advantage he has in other area (meanwhile city is only after is goalscoring ability).. passing, layoff, dribbling which he can do better than most players in his peers..

another example is patrick bamford.. he started out as a striker, but he does not has the physical features except for his goal scoring ability.. but he has other a comparative advantage in other areas... dribbling, layoff and holding on to ball... aitor karanka is playing him as a playmaker with less restriction (playing from right side of the midfield), yet he still came out as highest goal score ahead of Tomlin and Leadbitter in a 4-2-3-1 formation.. one of his best match was in the FA cup against city, and you should see the way he dealt with kompany in that match..

City scout should endeavor to monitor him all through the world cup to see how misleading they have been all this while....
