Egbon, I was very uncomfortable when Eguavoen saw Alhassan Yusuf as a future project when we needed the best at that very moment. Now see how Shehu fared. I don’t know why some coaches rather choose to gamble.if you do not care about the reputation of your nation, at least think about your coaching career. Kog45: Sir,until some of us realized that when you are having issues in some departments of the game coach must open his mind for solution and that solution can come out from anywhere....our goalkeeping dept and midfield should be open for now and good player should come in,not telling us some player are finding it difficult to adapt to pitches or Africa football.
Sir,for now I don't really care about our players performances in their various clubs, just after we failed to qualify they are now in form...see that spirit in Osimehn and to an extent Ekong and Lookman against Ghana. |

Time will tell. Any lower league player have to be really outstanding there to deserve an invite. We are not a small football country. We have midfielders playing in the first-tier that any good coach should be able to utilize. As much as we criticize our current midfielders, we still see them perform at the club level. Tells you something. We need to get this coach situation right once and for all and stop gambling with underachieving foreign coaches. ChrisKels: Those two aren't Super Eagles materials for now, and I doubt Ejaria will ever be, considering his age |

I did not criticize exclusion, but inclusion. However as regards Nwobodo, does it mean the moment he signs for Cincinnati he becomes not good enough?. charlesemeka85: who are your best that is not in the list I dropped? Abi the one that just got signed by cincinati abi Texas fc or the one who just go released of his contract and on the verge of signing for a club in Belize? |

Then you may as well smuggle in Ejaria following the same logic. In the long run you are parading midfielders that are not among our best. Then we may as well extend more invitations to Shehu. That’s how you lower the bar in the long run. charlesemeka85: bashiru hv been active for reading with goals and assists this season
If nwakali can mk out afcon team then bashiru who hv performed better this ongoing season deserves a look in as well
Moreover he is not clubless at the moment |

Anybody believing in the SE under a coach like Peseiro never learn anything. daveP: I like what Chuks said Emery told him when he was about to come on
Just run.....
Simple and direct but shows the absolute faith a manager has in his midfielders to make the big difference and against opponents they are not even an underdog in.
Right now, only Iwobi and Ndidi are such midfielders.
It remains this dragging opponents out of position to make things click.
Chuks also said he watched two hours as instructed by the coach.
We definitely have a man management problem in this SE setup. A coach sees a pacy forward and has no such plans to use that to advantage?
All Chuks has yesternight were just two touches of the ball. Naaaaaahhhhhh!!!
We should not give any inept fellow this SE job again and expect Miracles.
A great manager can even replicate what Mou did with porto in 2004. Doesn't need much stars in his team.
Of course having the right personnel matters.
Staying with almost full concentration against Bayern is not an easy feat.
Finally!! An SE player is in the Semis of the UCL after many years of absence. |

The Eagles May fly high again. But Nigeria great again? Wait for your next president Koboko99: It's really painful knowing we are not going to the world cup, damn! It hurts!!!
But what is even more painful is the insults and name calling. See growns men throwing shades and insulting footballing for not getting the job done.
You think they don't want to go to the world cup?
You think they are not pained?
Do you understand what it is to have the fate of over 200 million people in your hands ana yet you fail them?
We lost to our biggest rivals on away goal rule.
Some people are even saying the thread should be shut down. Common guys!!
We need to do better as a people!
Now we need to go back to the drawing board and start planning for the future, identify the problems and start working to create solutions if not we will end up worse.
Strength is having each other's backs and supporting ourselves through the darkest hours.
Nigeria will be great again! The Eagle will fly again! |

I guess NFF has elections later in the year. That will be an excuse not to bring the expat coach that you want. Most likely Amuneke will continue with the team. I expect Eguavoen to return to his previous role. I just hope Amuneke will be giving a free hand to appoint his assistants. That’s the way forward for now. Hopefully, Pinnick loses out on the election and we get a forward thinking administrator who ALSO has interests in the grassroots. AndSunGorilla: Meanwhile the deed has been done. What next? I see us having lots of opportunities for friendlies before the WC as some of the WC participants might like to play against us to have a feel of Senegal, Cameroun and our big bredas (for now). Those games should be a chance to restart and get ready for the next ANC. 1) who will be the next coach, delay would be dangerous, I would personally prefer an expat, doesn't even need to be famous yet. But one who is ambitious with big balls. Or maybe we could try that Nigerian born guy who they say coaches or once coached in Turkey. 2) one thing for sure, Pinnick shouldn't be sacked because otherwise we get banned by FIFA 3) I would think Musa, Ighalo and even Balogun should retire but we shall see. We need to start thinking about the next four years. 4) we need a new goalkeeper coach, we need to scout for at least 2 other solid goalies and then let them battle it out with the current Folorunsho ( na God dey guard) that we have. |
