Currently, K.Nwakali is the best in La Liga 2 for accurate passes per game.

He is one of the few that has the hunger. What is limiting most of our players is that it doesn’t seem they challenge themselves to be better than yesterday.

Nwakali is a case in point. He is trying to prove a point to his past employer and now we are seeing the beast in him. Really, he should aim for the top and continue to challenge himself.

This is one thing Stephen Keshi understood about our players which is one reason he didn’t believe in picking players solely on the quality of the league they played. He wanted hungry players in the mix.

I think we need to consider top players irrespective of the league they play. No player should think their position is assured by virtue of being a player of certain club. Our pool of players in midfield is not scanty as we think. We need to open it up more to push the links of Bonke and Onyeka to keep fighting or be left behind.

If Nwakali is doing exceptionally well and way above this poor quality level. Come January a La Liga team will come in for him or even a Bundisliga, Seria A , maybe even Championship team .

If he is not, he will remain there no amount of padding and Super delusional hype will get him out. In reality if they can survive the league they would have done well.

When your in a poor club , surrounded by poor players in a poor league. The reason you are there is you also are POOR. So when you're performing averagely within such mediocrity it's not progression.

Look at weekly wage bill Ponferradina FC in this division and that in itself tells you a story of the level of players.

After 42 games in La Liga 2 Nwakali would have played against all or most of the teams. There will be no questions about it then. Which is why I said we need that top quality he has shown so far to be maintained.

If your team is well below mid table in the Segundo that's not a position of competence but failing.

You cannot then say you are doing outstanding in a low level league. And use that unit of low performance and competitiveness to determine quality thats mediocrity.

It's like saying Ndidi and IF C are doing exceptionally well when, they are at the bottom of the EPL table. After 7 games it's somewhat a bit too early to make conclusions but they've not win a single game yet and have lost 6, they look like candidates for be relegation.

In assessing players quality you need to look at the quality of club and league.

Ponferradina Nwakali club, is in Financial peril they cannot afford to buy players it's all loans, free players it's not a good benchmark for quality.

If we can mention Harland etc any naija player can be mentioned here o. Nwakali has started the season very strongly. He only needs to maintain it. Statistically, he has it, but we want consistent top performance for once. Truth is no one can argue for any other midfielder that is available and a regular, besides those already in contention for spots in SE.

Nwakali is rated the best player in his team at the moment. One of the top rated in league as a whole. If he can do this all season, he has finally arrived.

Aside his creativity, Eze's set piece abilities are another reason why we need him.. Currently,we don't have really good set piece takers .. Iheanacho is our best, but he isn't a guaranteed starter anymore due to his lack of game time and form at Leicester.. Simon and Etebo are decent takers too, and Bassey also .. But Eze is really better than all of them in that department...


Like I've said before, Rohr is the reason we didn't get Eze on time ..After the world cup, he was supposed to try new midfielders, bit he kept using Mikel, Ndidi, Etebo and Ogu. Iwobi was shuffling between the wings and the midfield until Mikel retired...

nwakali's stats are impressive, nice one. But I believe iwobi's stats should be more, considering his massive improvement in the midfield this season.

4.5 organization and kitting of the national teams improved under him.

Unfortunately for him football is all about success so based on that his tenure was very poor. Our national teams from age grade to senior level didn't win much. Even the ever reliable Falcons experienced a deep. Most of the coaches he appointed let him down.

League football is still so so.

Financially the NFF attracted a lot of sponsorship under Pinnick, but my hand on my heart I can't say if everything was judiciously used.

National team is not club as regards selling players. You pick your best at every moment. Competition makes every player push to be better while playing for the country at every given time. Nobody knows what will happen in 4 years.

In the next 4 the blackpool player will be 31 and may hv dropped to league 1 or 2 while Jenz will be just 27
