very well said.. But I for prefer Onyeka.. As long as Bonke no commit yeye fouls, I'm okay.. Looking at the latter's stats.. he is quite good in long balls..
safarigirl: Na wetin I dey reason be this in the midst of the meltdowns
It is not just Eguaveon making this decision, it is the entire coaching crew and they are closest to the action, so, they know who to play
I am sure after the Tunisia game, they must have worked on what failed in the formation, to try it again
Like someone opined, just because Pep failed with a formation, does it mean he won't use it in the next game? Did Rohr not stick to a 4-4-3 even in the face of failure?
I'm not very confident in the Bonke guy, but if they are starting him, it must be for a reason
Well said. But the tide can always turn in the second leg. I would love to have the advantage early though.
Icon4s: We know that Nigeria are favorites to win in Abuja and so Ghana's major hope is this First leg in Kumasi. If Nigeria wins tonight, then it is almost game over. If Ghana wins tonight, they will have something to protect when they come to Abuja. And if it ends in a draw, Nigeria takes the advantage.
That's one thing many of us are not taking note of. They are at a big disadvantage fielding players that have not been part of their set up. They have quality coaches no doubt, but the coaches have to strategise quickly in such a short time. It seems their strategy might be merely to neutralize the threat of our rampaging forwards and hope to score when they can.
Ppogbae: Otto Addo has never coached a game with these boys and has only been with them for a few days.
"We have a couple of players who can play in that position and they've been watching him [Ndidi]. The philosophy will not change, the style of play will not change, only personnel will change a little bit." -- Eguavoen
Why does the Ghanian coaches feel confident about beating us? Because they think they have the tactics to beat us. They are relying on what they saw in AFCON. There is a reason why the very first thing Amuneke did in training is make the boys focus on operating in tight spaces. I am happy Amuneke is in the crew. If Ghana is banking on our weaknesses, we have an answer already. With Amunke in the mix, we will be unpredictable. Of course, there is no secret that we have lethal forwards. But our defense will be stronger than expected.
We are underrating our defense. Our defenders will do a great job. Ghana will not come away with more than one goal — if they score — over the two matches.
safarigirl: Anyway, I expect Ghana to score at least two goals against us in both legs
But unlike some people here, I always expect our goalkeepers to concede, my confidence is in our forwards to score more than we concede.
Why is everyone here having wet dreams over Ighalo? You will not start Victor and Sadiq, Awo or Onuachu, but you will start him together with Ighalo? That's a waste of 4-4-2.
At least with Victor and Nacho in a 2 you know what each of them brings and how their skillset complements each other: you have Nacho laying through passes and pinpoint crosses for Victor to latch on to, then coming late into the box to finish from distance and mop up any loose balls while linking up with Victor. Ighalo will not do that, he simply doesn't have it in his skillset and there's nothing wrong about that.
komekn: Actually Ovie has just come back from long standing Injury , Tega is on his way to the EPL with Fulham and Chuks has played 5 games and 2 goals for Charlton athletic in league.
But once again Chuks is injured again he is unfortunately very very injury prone he was out for two seasons with injury at one stage.
Well as you know Aribo came ftom League one straight to the SE from Charlton.
But I actually be don't think league one players should be considered unless they are clearly best in league and club like Aribo clearly was. And by the same yardstick players in back street in leagues in Europe.
Amedino99: Na your problem be that ooo. Me wey I don dey think of which country apart from Argentina go dey our wc group. you dey dia dey think of impossible things
