God bless that Philosopher guy who said we should be playing 3 strikers upfront!
Based on the talents we have right now, this is the era of strikers all playing upfront. The likes of Osimhen, Sadiq, Moffi, Awoniyi, are mobile and versatile. These players can provide both goals and assists and can switch to the wings and back at any point during match time. They can provide crosses. Something some of our natural wingers struggle to do.
For us to produce the very best results we should only entertain exceptional wingers. For me we have just one at the moment, and that's Chukwueze. And maybe Ademola Lookman if his switch is approved on time.

Need I add Iheanacho? What else do we want?

Tomorrow now if Uzoho makes a mistake, they would start calling for Okoye. If we had a keeper like that Liberia coach wetin we go talk?
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 12:05am On Sep 08, 2021
Everybody seems to be blaming okoye for that goal conceded. My take, that was a wonderfully executed goal, that any keeper that saved it would have been praised for wonderful reflex.

The truth is that we squeezed a win. A win is all that matters after all

Giving credit to Rohr for having no choice...

Saka will keep getting game time. Southgate has other reasons like letting the likes of Adarabioyo dream on. grin
Not taking anything away from the young lad though.

hatakekakashi:
So today's his birthday. Maybe that's why Southgate allowed him play full match. Normally 70 mins max

We have been crying for so long about our thin midfield. Now here we are! The likes of Bonke and Michael will only be having their first game in this important encounter.

Philosopher1979:
In his friendlies he should have tested muazum, nwakali, China akas etc to see how good they are but our oyibo man refused. We have a serious coaching problem. They should assign someone knowledgeable to him. He is limited.
By now he should know his second team. Not trying new players is a waste of friendlies. Friendlies are supposed to improve the team

Cape Verde's home record in the last 2 years:
2 win, 3 draws and 1 loss (to Guinea).

It will be a good test.. But once again, no be we day boast of depth?

Rohr has been tinkering this team for over 4 years now, and they have played in various surfaces and conditions. He knew ahead of time that we will miss several players for the Cape Verde tie, before naming his squad. He's been working with a large pool of players for all these years. We have depth that he should have tested well enough prior to this very moment. He has no excuse not to win in Cape Verde. I will take a draw ONLY because I do not have high expectations of him. I would be so glad if he surprises me.

I'm saying the same thing. If Teslim Balogun stadium is the best we have at the moment, so be it.

Keep the boys playing in the best stadium at all times.
We should always aim for excellence.

Ppogbae:
Uyo is excellent too, but Abuja was just renovated and we haven't been there in a long time.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 7:26pm On Sep 04, 2021
What's wrong with the nest of champions?
Ppogbae:
The Moroccan lad is right. Lagos, the megacity and economic powerhouse of Africa, should have at least 2 world class stadia. Every other major city like Ibadan, PH, Kano, etc. should have at least 1. I hope we play our next matches in Abuja to avoid further embarrassment. Teslim Balogun looks like utter garbage.

I am not mocking the players. They do not have much to offer this very moment. '
I have been a fan of Musa for quite some time now. At the moment he is a tired leg. We have players, even in the bench, that have more to offer this team.

Nostradamus1:
Your statement was clearly mocking.

You don't play in a pitch like this when you have superior players.
