He is already better than Collins, but hasn't kicked a ball for GWG. At club level how many games does Bassey have under his belt? I am not comparing both, I am just saying it's too premature to rate Bassey or to even compare him to any player. I have watched the lad and he does have potentials and that's it for now.
andrewbaba44:
Una just too like abroad grown up players

What is wrong with Collins starting

I can bet that many of you haven’t watch the bassey guy play before but you are all eager to see him because he is a new player

Did Ikpeba play as an AM, winger or striker for GWG?
IDENNAA:
The almighty Rashidi Yekini and Samson Siasia were Ikpeba's competition.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 3:31pm On Oct 07, 2021
I missed that he was referring to GWG. Someone remind me who was Ikpeba's competition in GWG.
Well I've said what I had to say.

IDENNAA:
You beat me to eat. The post you quoted was a bit disingenuous.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 3:21pm On Oct 07, 2021
What exactly did he say? I go like get the context before I comment.

And is your stats drawn from Club or national football?
There is no basis for comparison, but Ikpeba was not known as "Prince of Monaco" for nothing.
GWG speaking, Ikpeba had great competition he came against, unlike Iwobi. Iwobi still has many years and I am hoping he will add lots of goals and assists for club and country.

Whatever the case, our ex-players should never criticize current players in any shape or form. They should see the current players as family and only say things to encourage them.

zuchyblink:
Victor Ikpeba said that Alex Iwobi is not good forgetting that Iwobi has done more for the super eagles than him.
Iwobi vs Ikpeba
Iwobi- 48 matches,9 goals in six years while
Ikpeba-31 matches,7 goals in ten years

Nigeria line up vs CAR

Uzoho

Ola Aina, Balogun, Ekong, Collins

Simon Onyeka Aribo Ejuke

Iheanacho Osimhen

Good to go right? What do you think?

This is according to owngoalnigeria. And we all know that there lineup has always been accurate?

Very well said.
He's got everything going for him. All he needs is consistency. Very grounded and humble indeed. I admire humility.

AndSunGorilla:
I so much love Taiwo Awoniyi now, very well grounded!!! Left ome to be by himself at a very young age, whatever his challenges, he is still a star but the boy is extremely humble and also religious. Kog45 I am really impressed, I pray that the boy will become highly successful I'm his career.

I hope Uzoho grabs it with both hand never let it slip again. Competition is good!
humility33:
Just read Uzoho will start tomorrow
That Uzoho was chosen to start as punishment to Maduka for arriving to camp late more so the decision ws made to serve as warning to other players that choose to under rate CAR

Over here many Americans don't care to learn about other countries. They are brought up to believe the USA is the greatest country. Whether that is true or not, they have many things to back their assertion. Even in the light of that, dem still dey beg Foreign-Borns. Come and see the MLS here.

humility33:
And so many proud folks here wil kick against it even when it is obvious that Chelsea academy have decent facilities and coaches than all NPFL clubs combined

SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 4:03pm On Oct 06, 2021
It is not one before the other, because one does not affect the other.
You don't have to put in much effort. You just need to do it right.
CODMOK:
Let's make SE attractive first. Let's inject life into our grassroot football. Let's export player who will play in big clubs. Then, we might not even do much to persuade any FB to represent us.

The greatest nations have perfected this art -- knowing how to unearth, develop and attract the best brains and talents. Nigeria is getting it wrong on every front. In this day and age, people don't still get it.

humility33:
Bro you need to take a break pls

Sometimes it is not every time u reply a post especially when you posts likely will be off point

Iike I always say every reasonable football administrator shouldn't throw away gold simply because he got a diamond rather maximise both to your advantage.... we should aim to maximise the FBs and home grown talents to our advantage and not reject one simply because u have gotten the other

Countries that have been courting binational players for decades still have a developed domestic league, infrastructure etc. So what is our excuse really?

Modified
No be foreign borns dey make us no get am right. We have another problem. Face the problem.

12large1:
Please, enough of these low self esteem bull crap. We should do all of these for an English/France Reject simply because we don’t want to focus on football development and invest into grassroots football. Abegi, everyone should respect theirself. A country that produced world class talents like finidi, okocha, Kanu, and more recently osimehn, chukwueze, Ndidi, iheanacho should be kissing English rejects nyash.. please…

You need to get agent, parent, and player on the same page while packaging yourself. Why is SE more attractive? Show the history. Show the current vision. Where does the player come in? What does the player stand to gain in the long run? The agent needs to be sold as well. While the parents side is more about emotions, the agent is more about business.

humility33:
Well understood
But they need to do better
They should push more not enough reason to explain why a player like olise opt for algeria instead of nigeria

One position we are not paying attention to is the Right Back -- not Right Wing Back. I am not sold on our current options. And we do not have much options out there. Really we should be trying to perfect a 3 CB defence. I hope things change before the next WC.

Super Eagles Chief Scout, Tunde Adelakun:

“Nationality switch is very complicated. A player who was born in a country perhaps has been developed by the country where he or she was born to get to a point where he or she is being courted by one or two nations. It will always be difficult.

“Some of them only know the UK as a home for instance. Because that’s where they grew up. So they need to be softly convinced to jump ship. Makes it more complicated when they have played at one age-grade level for the European country where they were born. They need to write a letter unequivocally stating that they want to come to play for Nigeria, and that by writing that letter, they have given up their rights to ever play for their country of birth.

“That can be really scary for a young player. But they do. Then they need to prove their Nigerian citizenship. By having a passport of their own or at least for one of their parents to have a valid Nigerian passport. This proof of citizenship is key,”

“We also have to request from the nation’s FA (England and the home countries if the player is from the UK) asking them to give a no-objection verification to the NFF for the release of the player. Sometimes this is difficult because the said FA might still feel they potentially could do with the player’s services in the future.

“It’s when we get the no-objection confirmation that we can put it all together in a package and submit to FIFA for their approval,”

So na this squads dey bring all the arguments. my friends everything na context.

if we had a continent vs continent tournament today, and you were Continent Africa, Europe or South America coach, who would you start?
That na the crux of the matter. I think that's another way of putting the question daveP asked, because the following question is always who will win.

If all three went to play each other, which XI will come out tops?
