12large1: There seem to be lots of low self esteem individuals on here because I can't seem to fathom the worry on this olise case. In a country that recently produced world class talents like ndidi, osimehn, chukwueze and iheanacho. And have the likes of ejuke, moffi, awoniyi and Sadiq on the sideline - our goal is to focus on grassroots level and keep applying pressure. We have lots of osimehn waiting to explode. Nigeria should never ever beg anyone to play for us because we're a football country and aggregating our population, talents are bountiful. Personally, I will pick Chidera ejuke over Olise but that's just my opinion
Same reasons many here gave why he would never consider Algeria.
12large1: Dreadlocks + Blackman + Micheal akpovie olise (full blooded Nigerian name) its weird with those combinations and playing for Algeria. But we have iheanacho, osimehn and ndidi
Oga sir. Why does it matter? The issue is that you are not getting the player. To me it makes no difference. He could feel more strongly towards Algeria. These things are subjective.
Well, his mom is Algerian. Although the report says it's the agent leading him in that direction, I still doubt that. He still feels strongly connected to the country of his Mom. If na Nigeria we dey, it's easier to identify with the father's side. Let's wait to hear something from him. Let's not forget, this guy walked out of the press when he was asked after he was name to our standby list.
edi287: I no fit sleep man. This news don kill my moral finish. After all the mouth way I make with this guy
The irony of the matter is Iwobi scored against England. Football can be funny. These players start to appreciate the country who gave them a chance more and more as they mature with the team.
Danielnino00: Realistically, both Iwobi and Aina with their present form and the competition in the English team won't have amassed up to 5 caps together with England.... They picked the easier option....
you are right. Time is about to run out. He is almost 24
Danielnino00: He should have gotten out of Porto long ago... He got too comfortable there! He was one of the most talented player in that U-17 class of 2013... I'd put him behind Iheanacho self...
Musa Yahaya needs to get out of Portugal QUICK and relaunch his career. How a midfielder with incredible ball control ended up as a defender still baffles. Today, he is now struggling to get game time in the Segunda Liga. In life one needs to know when to reset.
Well the FIFA rules are clear. Olise is not yet cap-tied. By now we should have perfected a system of engagement with these players and follow up, without losing sleep over where they will finally end. It should never be a do-or-die affair. Make do with the options you have.
TFLASHOGEE: Let see him play for Algeria before concluding we lost him already and if he does good luck to him in his career and you all should stop blaming rohr or nff because ones they reach out to this guy's you don't expect them to go back begging, choosing their national team is on them and some already made their decision and some their parents influence it so no amount of talks from a country they don't wanna associatiate them self with will change it, let move on with what we have and others that are willing to play will come we shouldn't be surprised anymore as we did more romance with Saka and Tammy more than even oliseh before they decided to opt for england
There are lots of factors including those you stated.
humility33: Yeah Think the way NFf treats this players contribute Owning players for months even at that NFF need set up a special scout aim at recruiting this good foreign born players right before they come to limelight and at the same time set up system to harness home grown talents at a very tender age
The truth is many of our football administrators are corrupt with no intention to develop the system but to loot and enrich themselves
When Algeria becomes first choice. And France second.
edi287: Looks like we've lost Olise to Algeria like Humility33 said. How disappointing What are we paying Rohr for sef? He should've been hounding this guy with his French connection.
Me too. I hope he continues in this fine form and maintains his fitness level.
AndSunGorilla: So happy for Awo, I remember he and Osimehn had that break out season in Belgium but Awo's nemesis of injuries caught up with him. Hopefully he ends this season well injury free and break the perennial injury jinx
Now just for the sake of our AM position, let's throw in Olise and Eze into the mix. You can't take it away from Rohr and his scouts. They definitely know what Super Eagles NEED. But the missing piece of the puzzle still remains a sound tactician in that coaching crew.

Now consider Etebo (green) vs Ndidi (blue) Somebody in SE's coaching crew is most likely looking at the stats. On paper, no pairing can get more balanced than this.
Alhassan Yusuf may be the real deal partnering Ndidi. But he is not tested yet at the biggest stage. Photo 1. Yusuf (green) vs Onyeka (blue) Photo 2. Yusuf (green) vs Ndidi (blue) Photo 3. Onyeka (green) vs Ndidi (blue)
Maduka Okoye having a massive showing. In a few moments from now he would have the highest rating amongst his teammates, He is ready for international duty.
considering Rohr once named him to the standby list, I am surprised that he wasn't invited for the CAR double header. And I am saying this sarcastically.
drDoom3: He's actually a CM. He was the guy that frustrated Napoli and stopped them from making UCL last season. Very good player.
I watched Olise today. Class. Guy is destined for greatness. He will be a solution to our AM problem. Good passsing, good set pieces, good crossing, powerful shot. Also a good dribbler and strong despite his lankiness.
I love this striker right from the U17 days. Very stubborn and tricky. I do not know who to compare him with. Isaac Success was supposed to be the next Eto'o. Unfortunately, I've lost hope in him reaching that potential.
