lol
you never know maybe these FB players watch our clips before they make a decision cheesy

typicalgamer:
I just can’t put my finger in it. But super eagles need a shakedown, many players are too comfortable and needs to be dropped for a match or two.

Now I see Eze made the right choice.

We’re playing a team with no known players on any f top division league and we’re struggling. Why ?

SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 5:36pm On Oct 07, 2021
Okay they are overrated in what basis? How they played together as a team, or what they brought to the team?
How were they rated in world football? Who did they play against at the highest stage, and how did they fair as players and as a team?

andrewbaba44:
I did not bring any debate comparing se of 94 to this eagles

All I said is many of our ex players where overrated

You just want to enter rohr team because he hasn’t won anything ,but person wey no no football go think say 94 team win World Cup with the way most of una Dey yarn

They won only the afcon ,don’t come and be telling me how teams use to fear them ,no be that one we wan chop

This is the team some want to compare with SE of 94. For me I am just waiting for the win. I don lose hope for Rohr playing good football.

Danielnino00:

oya set the yardstick na.
andrewbaba44:
The debate should not be like that
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 5:18pm On Oct 07, 2021
Who mentioned organization? who was better organized. Who mentioned titles? Who has won at least a title. Now you are bringing competition matter. Watch HOW Nigeria then played against greats.

charlesemeka85:
because African teams weren’t as good as they are today. The only competition we had then was Cameroon that comes up top whenever we face them
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 5:13pm On Oct 07, 2021
The debate is SE of 94 versus current SE.
Stay on the matter.
I told you that SE was feared beyond Africa. There is a reason for that.

Modified,
Only you brought titles matter. I did not even go there. You said you watched the team. Watch their WC matches and their nations cup matches. And if you conclude that team was only slightly better than this, I rest my case.

andrewbaba44:
They won the afcon ? What else

No be keshi use ekuke team win afcon

Una Dey make am look like they win afcon back to back like Egypt

This should be about super eagles as a whole and not just about rohr ,now you wan attack rohr because e never win anything grin
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 5:09pm On Oct 07, 2021
I can list what they won. Abi this team has one something? Rohr has been the coach for about 5 years now just like Westerhoff.
You want to stay with GWG now or you want to go back to club level?

andrewbaba44:
I have watched the eagles 93/94 a lot of times and they where good

But What did that team win ?

Many of them self weren’t playing for top European clubs
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 4:58pm On Oct 07, 2021
So as you dey watch this our team organization now you dey salivate? You say slightly better? I am not surprised you did not try to refute that SE in the mid 90s were feared beyond Africa.

charlesemeka85:
bro I no be pikin so no need of you referring me to YouTube to watch the teams clips when I had the opportunity to watch few of their matches during the 94 World Cup qualifiers, afcon of the same year and the World Cup proper

They have a better team and organization with few exceptional players like Uche okechukwu who was with bronby in Denmark then, a young oliseh from lierse in Belgium, jay jay Frankfurt, yekini setubal, finidi who I will say is the closest above average and siasia who was with Nantes then

It was after the World Cup performance that the door to bigger leagues and clubs were opened to few of the players

The team that showed alot of promise but didn’t progress as expected was the Atlanta 96 Olympic team that made up 80% of the 98 World Cup team
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 4:47pm On Oct 07, 2021
I think as a striker and a left winger. But I could be wrong. He also had Amuneke to contend with if I am not mistaking.

IDENNAA:
He played as a striker but was mostly overshadowed by the cult presence of Yekini. Amokachi and Siasia were also playing at their very best , and competition was stiff. The quality of players we had when Ikpeba was playing for Nigeria is very superior to current ones.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 4:46pm On Oct 07, 2021
First, I said as a team. There are Youtube videos out there for you to see what they brought to the team individually. Then you can conclude if it's hype or not.

charlesemeka85:
far better on what basis? Slightly better I will accept that but saying they were far better is just mere hype
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 4:34pm On Oct 07, 2021
we don already enter GWG matter, u dey rewind the tape. Follow the discussion. grin
andrewbaba44:
How I take detail

Na Epl I Dey discuss ?
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 4:32pm On Oct 07, 2021
Go and watch Super Eagles of 93/94. It's on YouTube. There was more competition then than now.
As at TEAM they are far better than what we have. Individually they are also better based on their performance in GWG. We are not talking goals and assists only. Super Eagles of that era was not overrated. They were FEARED even beyond Africa.

andrewbaba44:
Almost all our ex international where overrated

Most times I use to go and check their stats because of too much noise from people here and beer parlour folks ,but their stats are even hardly average
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 4:29pm On Oct 07, 2021
Why you wan derail now?
I have already treated the matter in the event that he meant GWG, which was actually the case.

andrewbaba44:
I think they are talking about eagles performance

So Wetin carry prince of Monaco come here grin
