I have questioned before whether we want ghosts in the 35 man list.. made suggestions and they were turned down.. or do some of us here want Rohr to just call up 25 instead of the FIFA stipulated 35? We have enough room to accomnodate any player that is making a case for themselves.. they can come battle it out with the main stay players, then Rohr decides. Humility017: the 3 of them plus ajagun and umar should be given a look in.... they should be invited to make up the 35 man list.... |

"stop derailing the thread" and u dey add to the derailing.. are u not encouraging this discussion.. you guys should believe what u want to believe as regards those empires. if u need clarification go to the tribal threads. let's just focus on football here. Martz101: My friend calm down, you dont need such hate speech and insult, now to the festival our "Ofala" was influenced by the IGUA festival, you can investigate on that in your spare time.
for the kingship system, the western Igbo practice very similar one with the benin people, where royal family are recognised, I'm sure you've had about the saying "igbo ewe eze" it means igbo dont have kings but it only apply To the heartland igbo area which include the imo, abia and some part of ebonyi.
You tried translating the names I listed which even made you look more confused OLISAdebe you said means God preserve but you forgot to tell us that OLISA is a benin word for God, we all know what igbo call God, and in imo or abia that name should be CHIdebe or CHUKWUdebe.
Bros onitsha was not the only region greatly influence by the great benin empire, present day rivers, delta, bayelsa, ondo, ekiti and even lagos was influence too.
So lets stop derailing this thread, but if you really wanna talk more about it, we could continue probably via WhatsApp |

Torino Midfielder Joel Obi: I Rejected Italian National Team To Play For Nigeria
Published: April 14, 2018
Torino Midfielder Joel Obi: I Rejected Italian National Team To Play For NigeriaTorino attacking midfielder Joel Obi has revealed that he rejected an approach to play for Italy at international level as he wanted to represent Nigeria where he was born.
Five years after turning down the Italian Football Federation request, Obi was handed his Super Eagles debut by Samson Siasia in the national team's 2-1 win over Sierra Leone at the National Stadium in Lagos in February 2011.
''With my family we try to speak Igbo at home but I prefer speaking Italian. When I get to Nigeria I speak broken English and with my Igbo friends I prefer to speak Igbo,'' Obi told Kwese Sports.
''All my life, style was in Italian football. When I was 14 or 15 years, I had the opportunity to play for the Italian youth team but I waited because I believe I am from Nigeria and I have to play for my fatherland.
''Finally I got the call from the Super Eagles and I was very happy. I was only focused on Nigerian national team.''
Obi was recalled to the national team after a four-year absence for the pre-World Cup friendlies against Poland and Serbia last month and was named in the starting line-up for both matches.

yes I think we should have killed it at that point.. I tried to do that but I wasn't direct enough. Kog45: Thank you.I think we should stop saying a player is from particular part of the country, for God sake why saying a player is from Okija, what is our business with that, how many players do we know their states of origin talk less of villages. |

Today's best wingers are forwards in the real sense. They can operate anywhere in the front and usually roam depending on the opportunity that presents itself. Look at Salah's goal today, typical of a number 9. |

Good performance from the Nigerian, one of his best for months. Played a big part in the first goal and set up the second and third. Unlucky not to score himself with a shot that was saved. 8

I understood you very well from the start.. Like I asked you earlier, by you saying just one assist as regards their Southampton game, how does that sound? I never implied you gave him a 4/10 for his Southampton performance. goldfish80: You and who is arguing about the number of assists he made against Southampton? Where did you see me analyze or rate his game against Southampton?
Tbaba said he played well against Southampton and it was on this thread someone posted he got an assist as the game was being played. I basically referenced Ramsey's case who scored twice and was still slated by a sect. I don't know you're all over me with innuendos and hate suggestive tag. It's not like I rated him 4/10 in the Southampton game which I didn't even watch. Please excuse me. |
