Firstly I'm a fan of the Super Eagles that's why I came here and will still be here, else I would have been in a premier league thread. I'm also passionate about our junior national sides. The context here remains the GWG. And if any of us here have a stronger affinity to any foreign club side MORE than the SE, they should already know they would find it hard to connect here. Naturally you go where you find people with common interests. I'm not insinuating anything. But really check where your loyalty lies and stop wasting your time in where u do not REALY belong.
Iwobi knows the high expectation whenever he dons our national colors. His uncle has already set a high bar. We cannot add more pressure on him. The more confident he is and the more support he gets from us true fans of SE, the better he would come for us.

Humility017:
to be honest with you bro...
some persons here are on a missed road
they are absolutely here to belittle super eagles players...and not to help promote this kids...if we could talk down our players this way just to show the little knowledge of football we have grasped....it means somethin is wrong...

me too never watched the match...but I repeatedly watched the highlights on YouTube just to catch a glimpse of his performance....
but someone who wanna show how objective he is...did not watch the match neither made use of the highlights prior pouring out his objective mindset to berate the lad....
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 2:16pm On Apr 14, 2018
it's only constructive when u indicate areas the player is doing well, and also highlight areas where he needs to improve.
Chrismario:
Not really. Criticisms goes a long way in helping players performance in most cases.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 1:14pm On Apr 14, 2018
your words speaks for you. you said "just one assist". How could you even comment on something you did not watch? And you didn't have to watch the game to know he made much impact in it. At least we have google.. There are still ratings on Iwobi's Southampton performance online as well. So where did you get that information that it was just one assist? What would I gain for throwing you under the bus? I clearly highlighted were you erred. So accept it, or just forget it.

goldfish80:
It will shock you to know that I didn't watch Arsenal play against Southampton. Saying I'm indifferent about his performance in the game I didn't watch is absolute nonsense. If I had as much as seen the highlights, I could have figured out that he was involved in 2 goals.
My comment was generalistic about his season not about Southampton. Anyone with clean mind could have seen through my message.
Your intent to throw me under the bus says alot.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 12:16pm On Apr 14, 2018
it's clear he's not had a good season compared to the previous. He would improve, negative comments from us will not help the player. We know what he brings to the GWG. Let's not forget that.

elyte89:
No joebie,am not talking abt d Southampton match,2 assist,he tried na but his performance for arsenal.dis season generally, I will prefer last season performance to dis present one.I expected him to consolidate on last season performance cool
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 12:10pm On Apr 14, 2018
I don't think I've called anyone a hater on this thread.. but when you make comments like those that's the tag you would automatically get. Your assumption is that Arsenal fans were indifferent about his performance -- not mine. What I know for sure is that YOU are/were indifferent about his Southampton performance.

goldfish80:
You've always wanted to tag me a hater. If you haven't, you would have noticed the intent in my post was to highlight that if someone who scored 2 goals could be criticized, another guy who made assist(s) won't be spared if the fans are indifferent about his performance.
So go on, call me a hater and get it over with. I don't care.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 11:48am On Apr 14, 2018
u dey defend person when imply say Iwobi had little contribution for Arsenal against Southampton. Now tell my why you cannot be tagged a hater as well? if you are going to give the young boy a knock when he performs badly, feel free to do it, but also praise him when he CLEARLY makes an impact.

elyte89:
U,and some few monikers re one of those who critically look at issues pragmatically when it comes to Nigerian players performance...its high time we stopped sugarcoating or exaggerating their performance on dis thread wout been tagged as hate..I don't even care anyway...but if we truly want d best from them, irrespective whom d player might b cool,u re spot on abt d rating on iwobi cool

Firstly, I never called him a flop.

But by your standards he should be lighting up the Bundesliga. Only you conceded earlier that you expected he would get more game time in the Bundesliga but he is behind some young Africans in the pecking order in Liepzig. So what are you still yapping?.. As usual, when you don't have anything to say, you just repeat yourselves.. this is probably the 1001st time you are saying the same things.
Yes we are talking Nigerian players, because the context has always been who to invite or who not to invite in the SE. Would you consider Umar not good enough for SE, and then turn around to say Lookman is good enough, just on the ground that he is an Everton player? Please say something new.

modified
why are you guys so similar?. try to convince me again you are not the same.

on your claim that far more players have been more impressive after moving to the Bundesliga than the reverse. I can do my research on that. we will have to look at the influx both ways and their actual performances before drawing conclusions.
komekn:
Your proposition assumption from which your indictment question emanates from. Simply makes no sense it's nonsensical. We are talking in general not in exception.

What's the unit of measurement that you create if you can call it measurement. Bayern Munich win everything in the Bundesliga so therefore Ademola Lookman a winger from Everton should be ripping the league apart.

You have singled out Ademola Lookman, whyhuh What's the point.

When looking at European league performance it's not anchored on individual players but clubs and thier leagues. So what exactly is your point.

You can not assess the European league and club ratings and performance on players alone and certainly not on the basis of Nigerian origin players alone . That is simply absurd.

There are general deductions that are largely proven, the EPL is regarded by many authoritative bodies as the best in the world. In my opinion the most competitive, the fastest and physically taxing. However, it is not the best technically speaking.

It's a one team league that is irrefutable and proven. the possibility that Bayern could win the league with 30 point lead still exists. That will not happen in any top 5 league in Europe. Add to that winning the league back to back 6 years running and nearly all the time over two decades.

Over the years far more players have left the English league and been outstanding in the Bundesliga than vice versa.

Ademola may not have set the league on fire but he is certainly not a flop.

When dem call you hater now you go complain. How could you be so blind to say the bolded? how could turn your head the other way to his all-round impact in that Southampton game? It wasn't just one assist. TWO assists, and he played a big part in the first goal as well. immportant contributions and a brilliant effort which was unfortunately saved -- it was far from a miss against Southampton. At least say it as it is.. Iwobi has had bad games, but give him credit when he performs.

goldfish80:
You're complaining about Iwobi after the Southampton game which he just assisted one goal. I can show you unsavory comments made towards Ramsey after he scored a brace against CSKA. There is a serious hate campaign against Ramsey because of his over ambitious style of play. A sect in their fan base want him out of the club, they believe the likes of Ramsey and and Wilshere have held back the club since their emergence.
I don't care about these players, I only care about Iwobi and we must be honest enough to say it as it is. Alex Iwobi haven't improved. If I'm to rate his season, I wouldn't give him more than 4/10.

komekn:
In actual fact his team Reading has been struggling to create the same level of performance as last season. They sacked thier Managers and have lost thier way.

Although Aluko has been a stand out consistent top player for Reading Fc. It has affected his rating you can't play for yourself alone it's still a team game.

His decision to leave Fulham was simply from a football perspective shambolic. However, from a financial perspective from a player who is 29 he pocketed a near £1million so he is laffing all the way to the bank.

But Fulham seem to be on thier way to the EPL after a long absence. But no worries there will be a number of Nigerian origin players in the EPL if they make it including a Nigerian striker.

Aluko has not been the topic of general discussion here. Reading are not in the Europe. So not too much too talk about. I use go to Fulham games a lot and still do in my opinion they have one of the best football academies in England. Reading Fc on the odd occasion.

So is he playing from the wings in bench? You already said players were ahead of him in Liepzig, so how am I speaking out of context?

komekn:
Consider the context

Ademola is a winger not expected to score that many.

Consider Batshuayi leaves Chelsea as a reserve player and tears up the Bundesliga from day one.

Please give us the UEFA ranking of League One and Two

komekn:
Whats your point huh

Danish league ranked near 20 in Europe so if you as a striker want to displace Ighalo , Ideye you need to show that quality not by speculation but by confirmed delivery. By being among the top goal scorers in that league.

However, you are right the biggest pool of potential Nigerian football talent outside of Nigeria is England that's an indisputable fact. That being the case should that not be your first port of call. huh Second question is a player in the Nordic leagues any better than a player in League 1 or 2 in England and should we therefore be looking at players in these leagues as we are now scraping the bottom of the pot looking for players.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 11:21pm On Apr 12, 2018
If he hadn't moved you would have rated him higher than all of them -- in a league that has Bayern winning it all.

komekn:
I expected him to get some good game time at Lipzig but its not happening. To be honest he is not better than the existing players who play in his position or possible positions. There are some very good African origin players with blistering pace you also have here Liverpool bound Keita add to that they are all young.

So it may be next season for him at Everton if the get a new manager.

Considering our need of strikers why has he not been invited huh huh

Is he the top goal scorer and or in the top 5 goal scorers in his league , how many goals has he scored, huh is he prolific he should be if he is to replace any of the current strikers huh huh huh the Danish league is far from top quality , however if Nwakali can be invited from the even lower Norwegian league , why not Paul.

I don't make deductions on a player from video clips it is too easily contrived, so I am not overly impressed by the video clips as well.

I know players from Nordic leagues who have come back to play non league in England.

ChrisKels:
The bolded has a simple answer if we were honest with ourselves. The answer is Sadiq Umar. Remember why we were hot on the hills of Tammy, now luckily to us, Umar is even an upgrade on Tammy, so why not give him that opportunity.

And to ur last paragraph, please Ighalo ain't the best, we have better strikers, only the technical crew know why they prefer Ighalo.

Ighalo, Agu, Simon and Musa wouldn't make my team.

tbaba1234:
Ox at Arsenal was terribly poor and inconsistent... Or is another Ox, we are talking about? Ox had been at Arsenal for a much longer time and did not show the improvement necessary. Like Henry said, he could not point out one good thing Ox did well at his time in Arsenal. His transfer had to do more with his potential than his actual results.

The same holds for Iwobi, Iwobi needs to work on his finishing no doubt.. When i say haters, i mean people who ignore all the good he does in a game and pick on that one mistake.

Iwobi has a lot of great qualities and would thrive under a better manager, who can help him work on his weaknesses. Wenger does not do that so players do not usually get to that next level.

Has Aluko not had bad games this season? Never seen you criticize your preferred players.. it's not like they show quality consistently.

komekn:
Why is it on this forum when a player is criticised the person is tagged a HATER, Why huh huh huh It doesn't make any sense, the very nature of football is characterised by a continuous shift between praise and criticism. When you play well you get praised when you don't play well and or below you are rightly criticised, this is normal.

So lets look at Iwobi , R Winger and or AM, how many games as he played, how many assists and how many goals has he scored , is it good enoughhuh for someone who we feel is at least on this forum is top class player. huh Is he the answer to our much needed AM options huh

Today he missed a sitter under no pressure, football is no longer about show boating, drag backs and step overs but effective end product. For this reason as AM i would say he is behind Ramsey, Wilshire and Ozil who are a lot older than him.

In my opinion he was just OK not exceptional in order for him to progress to the next level he needs to improve dramatically on hid finishing its simply not good enough. Donkeys ago maybe a year or more i had a a heated debate with TheGoodJoe and i told him the Ox was more efective and much better than Iwobi, i told him categorically that the Ox will go for big money and he will be a target of multiple clubs. On the othr hand Iwobi will struggle comparatively to generate similar interest.

I am concerned if he does not up his game and or Wenger leaves Arsenal he could find himself struggling in the Championship, I feel complacency may have creeped into his game.

Victor Moses crossed for an assist while playing for Chelsea recently.
He should be instructed to vary his play. He has it in him.
Kalu will be a good inclusion, that's if he would be able to outwit either Simon or Musa eventually.

How about forwards who can also use their heads? We need that option in our team.
