He is holding on to a higher bench. The closest to sitting on it. grin

tbaba1234:
Alampasu does not even sit on the bench these days
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 1:58am On Dec 05, 2017
Bad example
It's not like Alampasu has posted a solid performance in the recent past.
Uzoho is AHEAD. Is Alampasu as good or better? He can't prove that if he is not playing.

forgiveness:
In this case, Francis Uzoho is ahead of Axel Werner and Eduardo Carvalho.

I see.

oh lovely!

safarigirl:
and if he can't?

You are not saying anything different....if Enyeama does not sort out his club issues, WHAT NEXT?

You are talking as if I said we should carry Uzoho as first choice undecided

BTW, World Cup is not for kids, how old was Enyeama when he kept at his first World Cup?
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 1:52am On Dec 05, 2017
Uzoho is ahead of Enyeama at the moment.. Fact!
Too many IFs with Enyeama. Will he find a club? Even if he does, will he play? Even if he does, will he agree to come back?

safarigirl:

Ezenwa? grin
My friend even you yourself will not be comfy seeing Ezenwa between the sticks at the world cup. Uzoho brings the kind of confidence I've been looking for since Ikeme. I don't care about age.
Just show me what you got. And he has.

Icon4s:
Sis calm down. This is a goal keeping position and not a striker position.

Those boys are not World Cup materials. I rather fall back to Ezenwa if Enyeama does not make it.

Keyword: IF

Icon4s:
The goal keeping position for the world cup is not for kids.

Rohr has even stated he has plans for Enyeama if he can settle his cub issue well and early enough.

Goal keepers don't lose form like that.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 1:38am On Dec 05, 2017
Dragging ke.
Uzoho is clearly ahead of Alampasu as far as SE is concerned. Who got invited, and more importantly who actually got the chance to keep between the sticks? And how did that person perform? It's as clear as daylight.
Despite Alamps several invitation the gk coaching crew never gave him a nod to feature. And all of a sudden someone breezed in and kept against ARGENTINA. And what did Rohr say after that?
Let's go back and watch Uzoho in that 2nd half.

safarigirl:
na condition make crayfish bend.

If Ezenwa was up to it, we would not be discussing any of those three, would we?

All these IFs no mean anything. The fact on ground is that we are having a crisis in the goalie area and anyone playing regularly should be ranked highly.

We just need a goalie that plays well and right now Uzoho is ahead of Alamps because:

1) He plays regularly

2) He had a comparatively better debut

Uzoho and Alampasu are dragging one spot as far as I am concerned...Maduka is not even in the mix
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 1:35am On Dec 05, 2017
Ikeme still played in the 2nd-tier

We had only Enyeama smiley

Kog45:
My man it's a pity that we have to go for keepers keeping in division 3 and regional league in Europe for super eagles,no thank to Ikeme health and lack of class in Akpeyi and Ezenwa,if not we will not be discussing who is better among the trio who are keeping in team B in their various clubs.

Oh my God,Uzoho playing regularly in division 3 is now a thing of joy abi and Maduka keeping with Fortuna Dusseldorf team B is now a pride for our national team, also Alampasu a bench warmer, honestly Akpeyi and Ezenwa really fall my hand.

Let me ask you this,if Uzoho find himself in Deportivo main team back as second keeper and always on the bench would you pick Maduka ahead of him due to his playing time in regional league with Fortuna Dusseldorf team B cos you are rating the same Maduka ahead of Alampasu now, this is a guy nobody mentioned here but now a beautiful bride just like the way some guys were defending Nwakili invitation whereas we have better performing midfielder in the same Norwegian league.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 1:19am On Dec 05, 2017
Very valid point. But it's still an assumption until Rohr comes out to tell us what exactly he saw in Nwakali.

TheGoodJoe:
Chidiebere Nwakali and Ifeanyi Matthew have contrasting style of play. So you can not expect Ifeanyi Matthew opted ahead of Chidiebere Nwakali if the coach is looking for a player with the attributes Chidiebere Nwakali has.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 1:18am On Dec 05, 2017
Has Alampasu played in Liga NOS yet?

forgiveness:
Yes, Uzoho plays regularly for his team B in third division regularly while Dele Alampasu who at one time was a second choice with the team A in the second division three seasons ago had played regularly in the third division last season before he was promoted to the first team in the Portuguese first division. You can see he is progressing and he is in a better position than Uzoho.

The difference is clear.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 1:16am On Dec 05, 2017
Deportivo B is in the third tier still. Don't let the lettering deceive you. However, for a keeper it is a good thing that he is playing regularly regardless of whether he plays top flight or not.

MetalJigsaw:
Uzoho plays regularly for his club. Such is not the case with Alampasu.

And Uzoho plays for Deportivo team B, not C. And he's first choice.

Oga so Onyekuru's, Iheanacho's, Bonaventure's, Martin's etc class will not outshine Ogbeche's when they are all in camp?
Oga i've only maintained recent performance is enough reason to invite a player.
When you add other criteria like what they did 15 years ago etc, then I'm afraid we can't even start making a case for emerging players that are largely unproven. I've canvassed for performing young players as much as I have canvassed for performing oldies. What does that tell you? Never change the goal post.

Icon4s:
Recent stats.

What has he been up to 2-15 years back?

We have refused to learn. The same mistakes we keep making over and over.

Form may be temporary but class is permanent.

I would even rather have an Obafemi Martins who has class and is in a decent form.

Ogbeche kwa?

Tomorrow when they say you are an advocate for the oldies you will be arguing for Africa.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 1:50am On Dec 04, 2017
Ogbeche's recent stats:

In the order of pics:
1. Current 17/18 stats
2. 2nd half of 16/17 marred with injury
3. 1st half of 16/17 with only 336 minutes played
4. 15/16 season

if you no know dem dey hold hands dey pray together every night for SE call up.
But when Dessers score last sef? The last couple times dem bench am.

she already said you lose form you lose invite..
But if Rohr thinks you are still valuable, then so be it.

martins is in form and is consistent many of the players in form now may lose form come june so it's all about consistency

Yes, Bonaventure has been in the SE fold!

You're channelling this question to the wrong innocent person mam.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 1:14am On Dec 04, 2017
That's the point. Are you now with me -- #TeamPerformance?
Or you are just #TeamPerformanceWhoMustBeYoung

safarigirl:
did Martins qualify us for the world cup?

If he is a prospect, why can't others who are putting up good performances be? Why should he be the only person Rohr should look at? Is he the best prospect we have currently? Is Dennis Bonaventure not posting great numbers in a better league? Is Ogbeche also not doing same? Why should Martins be the only player Rohr should bring into the fold? A fold he is not even part of,

Every eligible Nigerian doing well for his club, should be considered for the World Cup team, not just Martins.

It is only a player's agent that will come online and blatantly say that someone playing in China is the ONLY one worth being called up. An aging player at that, not even a young one.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 1:12am On Dec 04, 2017
I fear oh!
Joel Obi nko?.. I find this amusing

Certitude:
Perhaps... Why is inviting Ogbeche seen as disrupting team chemistry but Martins inclusion perfect. They ve been away and same rules apply to them.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 1:03am On Dec 04, 2017
smh.. winning team.. how many players in this team have been in the past SE teams before Rohr?
You are really wise.. I gbadu u!

PurpleHouse:
Yes! My reasoning lacks logic. Maybe your mumuness merits logic oga philosopher. So You want us to distrupt a winning team to create space for your fantasies? You guys are not the coach and you won't allow him do his job! It was logic that qualified us for the world cup ba? Apart from a goal keeper and maybe one or two defenders, we are good to go! We are moving forward and not backward. Someone scores, call him! Another dude scores, call him... Why don't we just call the gods too? Ehn mr logic?
Anyway, I know your IQ is too small to decode my reasoning. So you can go ahead with your Fallacies!
And do me a favour... screw yourself!

Dude your reasoning lacks logic.
So when has being part of the fold or not become a requisite for a call up?
Do me a favor. Punch yourself

PurpleHouse:
Martins? Ok! Been part of the fold, so well deserve if he gets a call. But Obgeche? Boy!!! Wish I can really punch folks here.
How about Rufai and Aghahowa? Filty agents.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 4:43pm On Dec 03, 2017
Early 30s is not too old in football.
From 35 onwards, then we can start talking about the age factor. It's not like Ogbeche is an age-cheat suspect.

Certitude:
I'd say we call him. His stats are getting hard to ignore. Forget age, as far as he is performing, then sincerely he is good to go. How many of our strikers is scoring hatrick and brace?
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 4:41pm On Dec 03, 2017
Moses can play upfront in a 3-4-3

jihday:
me think Moses is too important for us to use him as a wingback, he could pair with whoever up top and have the licence to roam, just my thought tho. but I don't think we'll use that formation unless situation calls for it
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 4:37pm On Dec 03, 2017
@bolded, forwards (wingers) who can play as wing-backs will come handy.

Humility017:
Do you know that almost all Nigeria strikers have similar blazing highlights when coined from YouTube...? even Bartholomew Ogbeche self...

so highlights can be deceptive....

to be honest wit you...if we are going to adopt that 2-5-3 & 2-3-5 formation...

then we will have less need for too many forwards...
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 4:34pm On Dec 03, 2017
ok no need to confirm then.
tbaba1234:
Joebie is correct, he got relegated in the playoff game.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 4:33pm On Dec 03, 2017
That was Eliteserien or whatever the spelling is.
Nwakali was in bench.
Take not that Sogndal finished 3rd to last. I think the last and 2nd to last have been relegated automatically.
That team plays in their second tier. probably the the team that finished 3rd in the second tier.

My guess is the that the 3rd best team in the second tier takes on the 3rd to last in the first tier, home and away to determine if Sogndal will get relegated or not.

I can check to confirm this.

Dedebanky85:
I don't think they played today. I saw a game involving Songdal online, but that was an adecoligan league game whatever that stands for. His team plays in the tippelegan league. I never get to watch some Norwegian league games cos the only streams you see are never available in my country. But if for some reason it's true that his team is relegated we can take some solace that he's not their true player. But that would mean he and Awoniyi are struggling for the title of playing for teams that always get relegated. Lol
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 11:02pm On Dec 02, 2017
We can call both. How about that? lol

Humility017:
I think he should be the one we need to call up to the super eagles and not Martins....

the Dutch league is no beans and should be ahead of the Chinese league

It's looking like Chidiebere Nwakali's Sogndal has just been relegated.
They lost the relegation play off to Ranheim, after a penalty shoot-out.
