He is going to Russia barring any mishap.
Goke7:
Iheanacho goal rate for the eagles is something to watch, may be having another Yeking [Yekini] in the horizon
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:32pm On Sep 01, 2017
Bench or not. He looks good for Russia. We need a great bench
edi287:
Yep I like that guy. Might displace one of Onazi/Ndidi if they aren't careful.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:31pm On Sep 01, 2017
How do you mean? Those that were subbed in?
Humility017:
that is sure...no automatic shirt for anyone.
did you noticed how robust the Super Eagles bench was...?
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:23pm On Sep 01, 2017
Iheanacho Na Iheanacho. With some space, he will definitely finish. I predictes he would provide the icing on the cake even before he was subbed in.

TheGoodJoe:
Iheanacho.

I have to start on a bad note. Looks overweight to me. I wonder if he is eating right and training hard. Nacho needs to understand that a lot of expectations rest in him. I hope he takes his career seriously. His first love should be football. It has brought him fame, success and great opportunities. He needs to show football loyalty and love.

Too early to rely just on his talent. It is time to move beyond positioning and finishing. Nacho needs to work harder on the training pitch and eat right. Speed and stamina is a big part of top class finishers.

Good side of today was his awareness in working with his teammates. That was nice to see. Made nice runs but could not deal with the pace of the Camerounians. Pressed well but lacked the stamina to press for long length with intensity.

Needs to work on his tricks. A big part of dealing with pressure.

However, the talent showed with his decision making, positioning, awareness, intelligence to drop deep and support build up. Sad Moses did not return the pass instead of going for the cheap.

Capped an okay performance with a well taking goal.

Yes it's perfectly okay, but they must work hard for a spot like everyone else.

Humility017:
watch how many of these foreign born and groomed Nigerians will begin eye the Super Eagles....
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:17pm On Sep 01, 2017
Cameroon will have to revamp their team after crashing out of qualification. We were in a similar position after winning our last AFCON, but the stubborn Keshi didn't read the handwriting on the wall before the World Cup proper.
phamarsenal:
I really enjoyed myself today, it shows d team is in progress. d super eagles really put up a solid performance the combo of ekong and Leon is really superb. they made aboubakar and bassong look ordinary. we just need to go to Yaoundé and avoid a defeat, which is very possible with wat we all saw today. I can categorically say we HV a solid team heading to Russia, with just some tweaks in d left and right bk options d midfield and attack seems to be brimming with confidence ryt hw.kudos to rohr
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:14pm On Sep 01, 2017
We can then run an add that reads: Do you want to go to Russia? Come apply in person at our camp in Europe.

Humility017:
that's my desire bro...
dessers, ebuehi,Aina and lots more....
let's get them capped
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:11pm On Sep 01, 2017
I think what we need to work on now is getting a bench as solid as our starters. And of course great options in the LB, RB and GK departments. If we can do these right now, we will be ready for Russia even tommorrow.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:05pm On Sep 01, 2017
tbaba1234 and I have always said he was more confident than Akpeyi.
ChrisKels:
Ezenwa just served u a hot humble pie. Hours to the game u were against his selection. I'm happy u are mature enough to acknowledge ur mistakes by rating him now.

The truth is we have always known how good Ighalo is when he is at his best. But what we've always wanted was for him to replicate it in SE. He did just that, for the first time, today.
TheGoodJoe:
Odion Ighalo. One word to describe his performance = Warrior.

This is one brave soldier. Took the war to the strong, massive, tough tackling and fast Camerounian defenders. The defenders threw their best shots at him but he kept on fighting. Despite the pains he was going through, he took down the ball Mikel sent his way with ease. He tried going on a run with the defender but he was too fast for him. He chose the right option by going for a fight. With a yellow card hanging in the defenders head, he could not tackle Ighalo and Ighalo took out the defender with a brilliant skill and buried the ball in a tidy fashion.

That was impressive and showed his Chinese goals were not fluke.

Someone give Ighalo some Chinese ching chong money cause he deserves it. Sad he went out injured and I hope he is fit for the next game.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 7:47pm On Sep 01, 2017
Ezenwa did well. But what if he was exposed like Akpeyi was against SA. That's the true test of a great keeper. I reiterate they are both average, but Ezenwa is more confident . Let's also give our GK trainer some praises.
joseph1013:
The first time Ezenwa kept for us, we got a clean sheet for the first time in a very long while.

Who is thinking what I'm thinking?

leathalbeast:
look who is talking, you are asking me to read the title of a thread that states that Nigeria 4-0 Cameroon. how does that involve Ghana? or you don't know the meaning of the title of the thread yourself? who is she to say Ghana won't qualify?
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 7:36pm On Sep 01, 2017
I agree. But we played very well as a team. They were suppose to cover up each other. And they did just that. Moses is my MOTM. I knew he would score as well
mumemma:
Dont celebrate Ezen wa yet....He was not really tested.

Leon covered well for him.

I think all our players have been pretty good so far. Even Moses Simon. can't wait for the 2nd half. I missed the first 10 mins. We've been doninatinmg since I started watching. Ighalo, that's the kind of number 9 we want. He needs to keep it up.. Iheanacho will be an icing on the cake
