sanyaolurilwan: Hello Bosses,
Please for those who have been to USA on a Visit or Tourist Visa, do they give free sim-card upon arrival or visitors have to buy the sim-card to be able to make calls and use the internet?
Thanks Yes they give free SIM cards upon arrival. They even give you free iPhones at the port of entry. Most times they offer free hotels and free rides too |

UnaDoWell: Hello all, has anyone tried renewing their Nigerian international passport in the US recently? My passport expires in August 2023 and I want to know how & where I can renew it without much stress. I am currently living in Missouri. Thanks. Try New York, you will get your new passport in 2 months. Don’t even think of ATL unless u wanna wait for 6 months |

Posa: Good day all. I applied for B1/B2 visa in 2018 when I was in my penultimate year in the University and was denied on grounds of insufficient home ties. My Cousin in the United States Army is inviting Me for his Graduation in April 2023 which is less than a month from now. I have filled my DS-160 form and about to book an appointment. He said there is a way he would expedite it using The US Army link. Please is this feasible? What are my chances now and what do I need to put in place? Pleaseeeeeeeeee Also, he is the one sponsoring the trip, I am 31 years old. Ask yourself this question, why would they give someone who they denied previously based on insufficient ties to home, a visa to travel to USA for a graduation. I don’t mean to be rude but think about it. A graduation. They’ll ask why that graduation is so important to you. Do u have new ties to home? Travel history? Funds? |

To anyone planning to migrate to the USA, don’t let anyone discourage you. They will tell you all sorts of stories that the grass ain’t greener on this side, don’t get me wrong, America ain’t for the lazy, you have to work work work, but as long as you work smart? You will enjoy the fruits of your labor. I moved here in 2018 and my uncle discouraged me and told me to go back to Nigeria, I left, hustled and strived on my own, fast forward to today, 4 years later, I’m expecting my green card in the mail next week, I’m at the last stage of nursing school with a great GPA and I am living comfortably with a good paying job while schooling. Mind you I studied International relations in Naija with no knowledge of science but here I am today almost ready for nursing graduation. So if you want to come here, come! By the way, any student who is coming here, if u need a place to lay your head reach out to me I have a spare room! Someone helped me when I moved here back then so I am returning the favor. But after 1 to 2 weeks Biko find your way oh lol |

joeadex: Good day house, please I'm going for a Conference in U.S between August 16 -19. The Conference is Offshore Technology Conference in Houston Texas. Please I'll like to ask the following questions: >What are the likely questions the VO will ask me? >What are the documents I'm to take with me for the Visa interview? >Does this Conference also falls under the B1/B2 Visa category? *NOTE: I'm using a travelling agent and they have already booked a date for me in Abuja february 2* They will not give you. They know you are planning to stay and not come back. Why is that conference so important to you that you will fly 7000 miles to attend a 3 days conference. Why not rather apply for vacation, that is more realistic. |

horlahsunbo225: Thanks for the advice Is it possible to get a loan and be paying back gradually
My school allow installmental payment of 5k per each semester, so I'm thinking of paying each semester with money I'll makes from working
How possible is that International students don’t qualify for student loans. To qualify for student loans you need to be an Asylee/refugee, green card holder or citizen |

horlahsunbo225: Please what is the way forward.... I don’t think you will be allowed to work full time with a study visa. I think it’s 20 hours per week. I have friends here with study visa, they are allowed to work part time not full time. If your coming here for masters you have to prove you can ph your full tuition, if you get here and owe tuition or fees your school will contact USCIS and you’ll be deported. So my advise is that you have enough money for full tuition before getting here, as for work you can do part time, if u wanna do full tome it has to be an under the table job. I stand to be corrected, all these over sabi people please don’t come for me with insults |

Hey Daniel, I’m living in the US and I’m visiting Berlin this September for vacation. Any suggestions on where to tour in Berlin? Thanks Danielhouston: Hey guys, I just joined Nairaland. I’m a Nigerian living in Berlin, I studied here and have been living in Germany for almost 7 years now. I’ll be happy to tell you about life in Berlin and Germany in general. I’ve traveled around Germany and lived in Frankfurt, Cologne, Stuttgart, Dusseldorf, Kassel, Berlin.
I’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have. Just be ready to get some raw undiluted answers cos I’m not here for wishy-washy happy moments. I’ve seen it all and experienced a lot in Germany and Europe. Good and bad. I’ll tell you as it is. I will share my experience about being black in Berlin and Germany in general.
Pls if you have questions about visas, application, study requirements etc.... I will not answer them. There are available threads for those questions. This is strictly about life in Germany and the black experience. I also will not reply to any private messages, as I don’t believe in favoritism. My opinions will be for everyone to see.
I implore other black people in Germany to share their experience here as well. I have a busy schedule and may not be here every time but I’ll try my best. That’s why I urge other blacks living in Germany to contribute to the post.
Thank you all. |
