Makindezak: From experience in terms of thinking you would arrive and start working to pay back, my response is NO. There's major Job finding issue. The student jobs available are not enough to go round, those with jobs and are able to work full time are taking up more shifts leaving the rest jobless for months, and when you do find a job, it's minimum wage and would barely pay rent and feeding. So don't depend on borrowing to pay tuition. 2 Likes |

Army2022: Depending on your location, check FB marketplace for student sublets, thats where I got mine after weeks of searching. If you're buoyant enough reach out to housing agencies around and get a private room in a shared apartment. Doon is over an hr bus from my city so I'm not sure about housing around there. 1 Like |

angie88: The challenge is they don't have enough housing for the number of people that arrive monthly. The few housing available for are mad expensive so not every new immigrant would be able to afford it. The gov is finding it difficult to just erect structures cos these things are done with tax payers money. 3 Likes |

It's been a while I've been here. The reality in Canada was not as I envisaged but we give God the glory for the last 8 months I've been here. There have been times I questioned if I did the right thing and times I was confident I did the right thing. Canada is designed to reward the SMART ones and not just the average HARDWORKER. Don't get me wrong, if you work hard you will surely be rewarded, however, you might continue in that endless loop whle the smart ones are soaring. Our social media content creators unfortunately paint a perfect picture of life in Canada and prevent people from preparing adequately before arrival. The housing crisis, the lack of student jobs, the cost of living (especially if you depend on the Naira cos of no jobs) etc, is not a joke. In all, it's a beautiful place especially in the summer and extremely cold in the winter. Basic amenities are present so you don't worry about basic things really. Comparing life over here with life back home, it's way better once you're settled and finacially equipped so don't be discouraged in pursuing your dreams. Feel free to shoot me questions and I'll gladly answer. Please don't send me emails cos chances are that I wouldn't see them. 9 Likes |

joefit4gur: So sorry to learn about the refusal. Good to know you have ordered your notes to get the full gist of the reason for the refusal. Personally, I might be mistaken, but it seems as though the application was rushed. If they want a particular document like your POF to be a certain duration, please obey all those requirements as much as you can. It's not a guarantee, but it helps to eliminate any chances of a refusal. Secondly, it's not enough to simply have the required POF or attach documents to state that you accumulated the funds from trading FX/Crypto; if you ask me, I believe that's the reason for the statement "Financial information is not supported with evidence of income tax paid nor pay slips, for the bank statement balances on file." Over here, documentation of income from any kind of job is a big deal. So if you work, get your payslips and attach them. If you own a business, get your business registration documents and attach them. If you're a freelancer, I don't know how you can declare that officially. You may want to get a letter of acknowledgement or something from Binance to show that you're a registered and official user. Cheer up, repackage and refire. This time, take your time and eliminate any chances that might lead to refusal. Thankfully the processing time is no longer 17 weeks like when I applied. 7 Likes |

FranklynJonin: Good question , I was hesitant at first cos I wasn't sure and didn't want to be scammed, but after getting familiar with their service I realised that it was safe. You will need to pay, Airbnb will send you an invoice to your email confirming the booking. You can even chat with the host via the app before and after payment. I did that and he was nice enough to pick me from the airport. |

GloriaBekee: What services are you looking to compare between the two? That might help answer the question better. If you're not comparing any specific service then you can simply use any of them as they both offer the same service at the same cost. |

danherb: Bank rate is about 340 - 345 CAD. Black market is going to be around 540 - 570 CAD, I'm no certain. IRCC rate is a bit higher than bank rate but not as much as black market rate. What do you mean by the rate payday uses? |

Cath1234: Can't remember the exact amount but it was a little over a thousand CAD for 1month. I booked literally 3 days to my departure thats why it was that expensive. If you don't have any one to receive you at the airport or to stay with, I'd suggest you book early for cheaper rooms. Get here, take an Uber to your Airbnb. |

Cath1234: The cheapest flights are African airlines. I used Ethiopia airline. 2 stops, one at Addis Ababa and the other at Dublin. Your last stop would be at Toronto Pearson airport Ontario. |

joefit4gur: This is a really detailed CBSA Note. In summary, it points to your POF as the reason for the refusal. If you declare that you are working and earning a living, you have to provide every document supporting that. If you are working under an employer, you need to provide your pay slips, a letter of introduction from your employer, your letter of appointment, letter of promotion etc, which I did. If you are self-employed (i don't know much about this), then documents relating to your job are required. Some people add tax certificates, CAC documents etc, to support the application. If you have lump sums, quoting from the visa officer's statement "Account summary indicates a closing balance that would be achieved by a bulk deposit of over 10 million Nigerian Naria", you need to explain it on your SOP and attach receipts to back it up. Also, the statement "]Last page (final day's entries) missing from PA's personal account" is unclear to me, but I'm sure you can relate. Try to ensure that any information on any document you upload is up to date i.e. up to the date you submit your application. My take on this, never leave anything to the visa officer to decide by themselves on your behalf. Provide all necessary documents to back any statement you make on your SOP. Good luck. 5 Likes |

Winnerpoks: POF is essentially a bank statement showing funds you have access to and not transaction history from online merchant sites. You're to obtain the bank statement of your sponsor as the primary POF. Adding your account statement becomes really important if you declared on your SOP that you work and earn a living. Your bank statement will only be treated as your main POF if you're self-sponsored. If your online business links you to an employer/client in Canada, that might place you in a bucket of applicants with ties to Canada and might also suggest that you may have reasons not to return home after your studies. So confirm before you indicate who your employer/clients are in your SOP You can go for upfront medicals anytime even before you apply for your visa. There is no requirement to meet before you go for it. Upfront medicals was the first thing I did before any other thing. 4 Likes |

Wsx2: The airline has a price for excess luggage. I can't recall how much it is but you would most probably sort them on the spot instead of paying the right amount for excess luggage. The sorting amount is dependent on your bargaining power. |

adefunkeadelaku: Well, except you have other documents you may want to attach before you upload, you can proceed to compress the documents and upload them. I did not do ielts so it was not part of the documents I used. However, if you feel it will boost your chances then add it and any other document you think of. Don't feel like you are adding too much especially if they are relevant to you. |

Ayomikun2820: Everything is dependent on how you explain your decision on your SOP. If it's reasonable and genuine then you will be fine. One can have career progression and still be rejected for several reasons. It is only advisable to show career progression to easy the scrutiny. Ensure you explain the reason for your career switch, what made you decide to switch (don't say it's cos u love IT, it wouldn't fly), what you intend to do with the degree afterwards (what value would it add to you), what value would it add to your country etc, I'm sure you understand. Good luck. |

RooPreme: Payment of school fees, all or part is at the discretion of the applicant. They are not a requirement for visa application. People do this to show commitment and genuine intentions to study as it may boost the chances of being approved. Schools will refund you any tuition deposit less any admin fee if you choose to withdraw your admission or if visa is denied. Good luck. |
