Omo DHL didn't tell me this o. They collected money for two-way from me.
Any update on your passport yet?
I contacted VFS via chat after ppr dropped and they sent me a mail detailing the ppt submission process so I knew before going to DHL, I didn't even know people did 2 way DHL service till I stumbled on it here after submission.

No feedback yet, wanted to chat them today but change my mind because their last email update was in Friday.

Hello guys,

I did my biometric in lagos but i want to send to abuja for visa stamping through DHL.

I also saw that DHL cannot return the passport once its stamped.

Which documents am I going to put in the envelope? I saw something about consent forms, I don’t understand that

I saw that i’d need to pay transmission fee & sms alert fee since I didn’t do biometric in abuja

Since DHL cannot return my passport once it’s stamped, i read that VFS has their courier service, how can i go through with that? What’s the amount?

I’ve tried searching nairaland for the above information & and even called VFS but they said they’ve closed

Any assistance will be appreciated
Consent form is attached.

Thank you for your response I have tried 2phone numbers one from their website and another one I found here on naria land but they are both unreachable quote author=johnstan post=118745744]

I'm not certain about this stage but VFS always state that they usually return ppts through their own courier service and I don't think it's DHL.

Why not contact VFS to know the courier service they used so you can track the package and retrieve it timely.
Don't call, chat them on their website they respond in minutes. That's how I contact them.
Hold your tracking number handy tho.

I submitted my passport on the 15th of NOV got final correspondence on Friday that passport is Lagos … Counterfoil and letter of introduction already on my profile problem is DHL stated that they have a new policy and do not process return anymore and I should wait for VFS to contact me … it’s so annoying because I paid 2way
Any one in this boat ?

Tanks bro..
For d medicals, am I supposed to take it with my spouse since both of us are applying 2geda.
Then should I start filling my online application now or I should gather my documents first b4 I start filling d forms.
If your spouse is accompanying you then he/she will have to take the medical exam.

Application on the portal is time bound and the portal will auto delete any application your start without submitting before the timeline expires. Gather your documents and apply when it's complete.

Good luck

Hello everyone, please I need your help. I just got my LOA and I want 2 start my application. Pls where do I start? Wat should I do first?.
Secondly should I go for my up front medicals b4 I start my application?
Thirdly, pls I need someone 2 guide me through d entire application process abeg.
It can be overwhelming so take a deep breath and start with the required documents you see on IRCC.
After that try to gather any other documents that can support your application.

You will need a good sop so start drafting one before you apply.
Upfront medicals is a good option, check qlife & iom websites to book a slot - cost is about N46500 or so.

The rest will follow after you apply.

Before you apply, ensure you understand the conditions on you loa and meet them so you don't loose your admission while attempting to apply for your visa.

Good luck and congratulations on your admission.

Hi,

Please, I would appreciate advice from the gurus on the usage of 2 sources as POF,

1. Employer - Using my employer's statement of account and additional documents

2. A lump sum from a relative and supporting it with a gift deed.

I would appreciate any insight into if this can raise any red flags
Using your employer's account as POF is not ideal. Instead, get a letter of introduction from your employer confirming you to be an employee, get a verifiable scholarship Letter/certificate from your employer, add your employment details (your work ID, offer letter, promotion letter etc), add personal photographs of you and your employer, study leave approval letter if possible.

Explain your lump sums in your SOP with receipts and you will be fine.

Good luck

Pls guys which documents i need to carry for my biometrics at abuja
Your biometrics request letter from IRCC
Your international passport
2 photocopies of the biodata page
Your VFS biometrics booking confirmation letter.

Book on VFS website and note your time slot. Don't go without booking or they will bounce you.

Please i have the following questions...
Is it compulsory I use my siblings pictures in my study permits application?

Is it compulsory to use their birth certificates?

Please I need answeres to these
It's advisable and not compulsory. This helps to prove your relationship with the individuals and strengthen your home ties if they are not going with you.

Birth certificate helps to prove they are related to you based on the details therein. You could use their valid IDs showing these information if you don't have their birth certificates.

Good luck

just curious, how does this affect pgwp?
They expect that you will remain a full time student throughout the duration of your program. I think if you take leaves they can prorate the days you were out of school and deduct it from your pgwp (not sure) that's why you need to be careful.

Please I’ll like to know when you travelled, cause I read the arrive can isn’t necessary anymore and I’ll also like to know the documents took along, I’m leaving December
He stated that he had the arrivecan with him but for some reasons he had to fill another declaration form at the immigration because it couldn't verify his passport.
Arrive can is no longer compulsory from 1 Oct 2022, it's on IRCC.

Omo I’m just so confused. From applying to UK universities now to canada. UK is too expensive. So I have a b.sc/Ed in education management and planning. Applying to Trent university, masters in educational studies. Now the issues is, 1) must my sponsor be related to me? 2) Do I have to pay the complete tuition fee before applying for visa. 3) I really do not have much personal assets, just that my husband is back here in Nigeria. How can I prove that I’ll come back home or how do I create more home ties?
Anyone can be your sponsor if you can prove your relationship with the person and his/her genuine readiness to finance your studies (this is the reason parents, siblings or spouses are the easiest options)

Financial commitment is regarded as important because it shows your commitment towards actually immigrating to study genuinely. You must not pay for all your duration. Initial dep, First semester fees, 1 full year fees etc is enough.

Your family (husband, kids, siblings, parents), tangible and intangible properties all serve as home ties so gather as much as you can.

Good luck.

Good day everyone, how possible is it for someone who is already in Canada to defer his admission from January intake to like a September intake.
Does this pose any issue?
Once you notify your school of your visa approval and arrival in Canada, you're expected to resume once your classes resume.
Any attempt to differ will need to be backed up with reasons.
once you notify your school of your reasons and it's genuine, they will approve and notify IRCC.
Now I'm not sure of the maximum duration you can take - read it on IRCC once and can't remember.
I'm not sure if you're eligible to work during this period.

I think it's called study leave on IRCC and it can affect your pgwp too.

You can read it up to be certain.

(My take on this) ..... You can also wait for other insights.

Check their website, streamline the search to their Lagos/Abuja office in Nigeria - from their website to avoid scam.

landing gist!!!
Hey guys,
So my parents, sibling and cousins all followed me to the airport. The drive to the airport was hectic, my flight was actually on Monday and as y’all know Mondays traffic are quite heavy in Lagos. I went with Ethiopian airline and the flight was scheduled to depart by 1 pm but classic Nigerian time we didn’t depart until about 3pm which in turn affected me at Addis Ababa, but I’ll get back to that later in the gist.We left home around 8 am and got to the airport at about 9:30.

There were a total of 6 People with me so we had to bribe with about 3k for all of us to enter. We got to the check-in queue for Ethiopian Airlines which was a bit long but i was finally attended to, pro tip: make sure you weigh your baggage before leaving home to save yourself from headaches and also in as much as you won’t need a power bank in Canada I’d say you should keep one with you cause it might come in handy at the airport. So my bags were finally weighed and I had an extra baggage of which I was supposed to pay 106k but I eventually paid a total of 60k because my uncle was able to speak to the guy at the counter and within 30 minutes I was done.

Saying goodbye to my family at the immigration was the actually the hardest part of the trip because non travelers were not allowed beyond that point. we all cried and said our goodbyes. I manned up and swallowed my tears while reminding myself I’ll see them pretty soon.

As I had said at the beginning of the story, My departure time was 1pm but we didn’t start boarding till around 2:40 and by 3:00pm we had taken off. This was actually my first time traveling by plane so I was very nervous but then I met a very nice lady who was heading to Malawi turns out she came to study in Nigeria UI to be precise and in my mind I was like who leaves their coin to come study in Nigeria lol. We arrived Addis Ababa by 11pm of which we were supposed to land by 9pm and have a layover of 2 hours before boarding the flight to Toronto but due to the delay in Lagos there was no layover, so it was off the flight from Lagos, down to the flight to Toronto.
Finding the boarding gate wasn't hard, but there were a lot of stops before getting to the boarding gate, like I had to pull off my shoe, open my carry-on like 3 times.
The second leg of the trip was longer like 13 hours or so but I entertained myself with some movies. for me I don’t know about others but the food on the plane was wack I was lucky enough to had snuck in pieces of meat onto the flight, this was what sustained me till we finally arrived safely on Tuesday morning 7:45am Toronto time everyone clapped for the pilot because there was a lot of turbulence of which I though was gonna die lol.
As soon as I came down from the flight I followed the signs and quickly rushed down to arrivals, I already did the arrivecan stuff online before leaving Nigeria but the self decoration machine wasn’t acknowledging my passport so I just had to proceed to one of the officials at the counter and she filled a new declaration form for me. Please obey all the instructions you’re given and kindly ask questions on things you don’t understand.
It was my turn to be attended to, the officer was actual looking beautiful so I told her then she smiled she then proceeds to ask for my international passport, my tuition receipt and she printed out my permit, stamped it and handed it over to me then she wished me goodluck, pro tip: try complimenting the officer it really makes the officer feel more comfortable with you.My cousin was already waiting for me at the arrivals and we were able to get a SIM card for me.

Thank you so much to everyone who had contributed to my journey by relentlessly answering my questions.
I’ll be resuming at centennial college this coming January and also it’s cold in Canada oooo make sure you are prepared.
Congratulations and thank God for journey mercies.

I booked Ethiopian airline as well and coincidentally it's same departure and arrival time. Lol

Pls how do I weigh my bags or is there a trick to it, you know a weighing scale is not something people have laying around the house, You understand.

Applied August. Got a medical request November.
Did my medical on Monday...and waiting for my ppr. Coming soon to share my timeline. How long do I have to wait before my ppr land guys?
Processing time is 12 weeks (could be more or less, they are unpredictable)
If your medicals and biometrics have been updated to passed and your eligibility review started, then your PPR could drop (not certain) within the next two weeks. Like your positive disposition.

Good luck.

Hello everyone,

So I got my CBSA notes today and I saw they wrote "RROC mission support application pre-check completed. Nothing else aside medical and bio passed and updated. My application is 14 weeks plus. No notes or other information
Most times people order their notes after a refusal to know the exact reason for that, other times it's out of curiosity. It does not have an impact on your application.

If your biometrics and medicals are updated to passed on your portal and your eligibility is yet to start, start sending enquiry/request emails/webforms for a favourable decision to made on your application.

Good luck

Thanks a lot. My processing time has already passed the 12 weeks processing time, this is about the 13th week. How long does it take for some to get responses from them if webforms are sent? Thanks
Responses are not certain, I sent over 20 when mine hit 15weeks (3 emails/webforms daily at 6:00am excluding weekends) and I never got one response, on the 17th week i got a decision while I was preparing to send another Webform/email as usual.
If you get a response, it will be the generic "we are reviewing your application blah blah blah".

One thing I did notice was that after several Webforms/emails my eligibility review started. This was at 15 weeks and some days.

Keep reminding them.

Good luck.

Good afternoon guy, so after multiple emails and webforms to Nairobi and other IRCC offices about the delay on my study permit application which is roughly 16wks old, i got this somewhat generic reply, i don't know if there are some other measures i can use to get them do something about my application, my agent says there has been no update on my portal since day of application.
This is the response anyone gets when making these kind of enquiries. Only an MP can specifically tell you the stage of your app if they wish to otherwise they will give you same generic response like IRCC does.

The best you can do is to keep reminding them, change your write ups, email subjects and with time a decision will be made and updated on your portal.

Good luck.

I did my biometrics on 22nd August, I did upfront medicals too. On 23rd of September medical was updated to passed. I haven't heard anything again. What should I do?
The processing time is now 12 weeks..You have no control over the processing time/stages so all you can do is wait.
Mails/webforms you send within the processing time may not get a response but you can send them if you wish.
If your app exceeds the processing time without a decision, you can send emails/webforms as often as you want for feedback.

Good luck

Wow!! Lucky for you. How many hours is the trip duration plus layovers?

Also, any idea how long it takes to get the passport back from now?
Plus layovers it's roughly 22hrs

It took them a week to receive the ppt so I'm thinking it may take another week to return considering that it may go through Abuja before it gets to Lagos.
Hopefully it comes straight to Lagos and not through Abuja and save time.
