Fetengrn: Hello My people,
I want to thank you all for the assistance so far.
I submitted Oct 14 2022 Biometrics completed Oct 17th Upfront Medical Oct 31st Medical exam Passed Nov 23rd
I thought Eligibility review should be before the Medical? But it seems to me that Eligibility has not started yet.
Please I have attached an image, I'm not sure of the phase I'm waiting an update for, or what can anyone say about it generally.
Again I appreciate you all. Eligibility review is the last phase after your medicals and biometrics are updated to passed. All this under a month and a week, that's great speed. Good luck . |

Lamika24: What would you advise seeing as gcms takes over a month to respond and my UK school resumes in January?
Should I request the notes while I move on to the UK? If yes, do I have to mention it in my application and how?
Or I should not apply to the UK till I get the notes There two things you can do, wait till you get your notes to confirm the status of your application and save the cost of moving to the UK and resuming classes, paying tuition and all OR Order your notes just to be certain about the status of your application, move to the UK and resume your classes, pay tuition and all. You can't have both so you gotta choose one. What are the chances the application is still being reviewed considering the delayed response and your not so compelling SOP. What if it is still being reviewed and a positive feedback comes out of it. If you have time then go for option 1, if you do not have time then go for option 2, this is where you make your choice. Good luck |

gideon19: payment to secure admission.
does that mean i will need to create a new account or i can use the existing account? Thank God it's not tuition deposit. If you're doing this on ocas, login with same details on ocas, select the ongoing application and cancel or withdraw it. The application fee is non refundable. Choose another intake and reapply. Good luck |

gideon19: Good evening all, i just newly started with my application and i was so sure i selected Sept 2023 for HUMBER college but after making the payment and getting an acknowledgement from the school I saw Jan 2023 which i know is not near possible.
We've tried writing to the school but the response is that we might need to create another application since that is another academic session so I will like to know if that means we should just ignore the application already created or if there is still anything possible that can be done, pls. Are you referring to payment to secure the admission or payment for fees after securing the admission? Which ever is the case, you nearly would not be able to change the Intake except you apply afresh. If it's tuition dep you made, you will need to check their refund policy and proceed. |

Conte144: PPR Alert!
2nd time applicant.
1st application was denied based on financial assets. I was very disappointed as I thought my profile and financial history was good enough to get PPR.
My guru @Makano advised we order for GCMS and quickly re-fire. So we ordered for the notes, it came back and we gathered that the VO had issues with lump sum on my account statements.
So we quickly adjusted my SOP and provided explanations plus verifiable receipts for the lump sum, and reapplied again.
As God may have it, application was approved.
My Timeline; Sep 18th - Application submitted (Biometrics was done on the 22nd of April, 2022 so it updated) Nov 15th- Eligibility Review Nov 16th- Medical updated to passed (I did upfront medicals on the 21st of April, 2022) Nov 16th- PPR
I attached below documents
• Letter of Acceptance. • Academic and Professional certificates. • Academic Transcript. • NYSC certificate. • Birth Certificate • Police clearance certificate • Bio-data page of International Passport • Drivers' license. • NIN slip. • Updated CV • Staff ID Card. • Letter of Introduction from my employer. • Promotion letter. • Pay slip
CLIENT INFORMATION • Land Documents (Receipts, Sales Contract, Deed of Assignment, Survey plan) • Particulars for 2 cars. • Siblings Birth Certificate and Photos • CAC document for registered company.
PROOF OF MEANS OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT • SOP (6 pages). • Statement of account (Individual and Company) above 20m. • Salary account Statement. • Documents showing business presence in Nigeria.
Big shout to all the guys doing great work out here and special shout out to @makano for being my guide all through the rainy days. And of course to the hopefuls, y'all will share your own good news on this very thread.
Remain blessed! Congratulations is in order. |

Pls is that a tangible reason? That can come as a secondary reason. First highlight your love for the career, the things you may have done with IT in the past, any thing that kinda affects your ability to explore the career to your full capacity in Nigeria and driving you to pursue the career in Canada, you understand. After this you can highlight how it will positively impact you in terms of your career growth, your brother's business and then Nigeria as a whole. Hope you understand. |

toyin03: Good day everyone. Thanks for all y'all do I have read many times people say getting admission is easy et all. But I applied once to Durham College but somehow my application was closed.
Now, I'll like to apply to a uni...I graduated with a 3.56. I have narrowed my search to sch such as uni of Manitoba, Ottawa, etc cos I intend using mpower loan. Is this advisable? I don't want to waste money on application fee. I need advise.
Thank you. True, Application fees can be expensive. The easy admission stories you read are majorly to colleges/universities for PGD, PGC studies. I'm guessing you intend to go for masters cos of your good GPA, however, masters is not an easy program to get into considering the tough competition and requirements. Now the trick I learned is to apply for intakes ahead of the current intake, for instance, winter studies resume in Jan so the next intake is in May, the intake following that is September. Now applying for may Intake is still fine, however, that's the one everyone will be applying for at the moment and that automatically makes it competitive but if you apply for September intake with less rush, the admission will get to you with 3-4 weeks. (I applied for Jan 2023 intake in April 2022 when everyone was advising me to go for September 2022 intake and the admission got to me within 3 weeks) Mpower loan is fine, but ensure your also have funds of your own to show as POF. Good luck. |

Ishola2002: Good morning naira landers pls I want to know the probability of my visa approver on my program of choice. I am an HND holder of Computer Science and I graduated in 2014 but after my graduation, I joined my brother's business and am currently his Manager but I have chosen to take a switch back to I.T which I applied for Mobile Application Development graduate certificate program for May intake at Fanshawe College and I had been given admission. Pls what r my chances of visa approval as I have worked in the business field for almost 8years but am a Computer Science HND graduate.
Thanks in anticipation for reply Tho not an advice from a visa officer as we don't have visa officers here, Your best option is application to further your studies based on your under grad qualification or your current working experience. Your undergrad is computer science so you're off on a good start, however, because you do not have working Experience in your previous degree but with your brother's business and also considering the study gap, ensure to explain in your SOP why you chose your current course, the benefits you stand to gain from studying the course etc... If it will benefit your brothers business don't forget to mention that as well and you will be fine. Good luck. |

Lamika24: I tried to order the GCMS notes, but I could not pay with my naira card. I only heard about the GCMS notes in July anyway. By then, I had gotten admission to the UK and was already nursing that. If I am being totally honest, from what I have seen in these chats, I don't think my SOP was compelling enough. It was barely 1 page long, but I just discovered on this group after I had applied that people had 8 pages long SOPs. I had not paid the tuition deposit, and my POF was not so bulky. It was about 10 million then in my mum's account. Also, I was applying for a bachelor's degree with a 10 years study gap, I explained though. The explanation sef no carry weight.
So, all in all, it wasn't my best foot forward. I don't want them to deny me the visa and have rejection on my records.
I don't know what more good can come out of the application anymore, that is why I am opting to withdraw it.
And you are right. No one is processing a visa from a year and half ago. It has definitely been abandoned. Aii. I have seen someone here with SOP of one page, I think its the thread before this current thread and he was approved while someone with SOP of 5 pages with several hyperlinks init got rejected so the length isn't a determinant but the content. I'm not certain the content of yours but if you are confident that it was not compelling then I'm sure you must be right about that. Someone here too have gotten PPR without paying tuition deposits, if I remember, they explained that it was not compulsory by the school to do that, so not paying though a risky move is not a certain refusal determinant - they showed good POF tho. Some days ago someone got PPR with a fixed deposit account as POF. In the previous thread a 45yrs old individual got PPR at the second attempt so you can imagine the length of study gap there. In all its your SOP that can make or break the application and you are certain you did not do a good job with it. In the previous thread ( I'm mentioning this a lot cos that's where I joined and migrated to this current thread) someone had a long processing time like yours, orderd his gcms notes only to realise that he had been refused several months before his request for his notes so request for yours and be certain of the situation before you act (withdraw the application). You are also right, you will need a dollar card to order the notes not a naira card. Good luck |

Prosperkossy: Pls sir while uploading ur bank statements or ur sponsors bank statements, is it advisable to explain with short note of the lump sum made in the bank under the bank statement or u have to include the short note where other documents re being uploaded like sop, landed properties etc Your SOP is a summary of your application. You would typically have paragraphs explaining different things and POF should be one of those paragraphs This is where you explain the source of funds with receipts where necessary i.e. if it's from property sales, salary build-up, business transactions if it's a business account etc, the available amount set aside, any lump sums with receipts to back it up (in cases of gift deeds etc) Don't try to conserve space with that SOP cos it can make or break your application, however, be direct and straight to the point with your explanations. Remember to use a third party site like grammarly to check for wrong grammar and plagiarism. Good luck |

amaka4obiiiie: Hello guys....@johnstan do you guys know anything about building family tree in the SOP? How do I go about it please? Thanks I'm not sure what you mean by building Fam tree on your SOP. Do you mean describing your fam members and relevant details about them? If yes then it's not difficult, simply mention them starting with parents first then siblings according to seniority. Mention, their relationship status (married or single), their academic qualifications (if they are graduates or not), their job functions, if they are dependants i.e. still minors. You only need to state the relevant information about them. You could also Google how to describe family members in an sop and pick from different sources. Good luck |

Lamika24: House please I need help.
Dear Gurus, ema wo mi niran.
I applied for Canadian Student Visa in April 2021.
I used an agent and got PFL because he recalled the fees twice.
So I paid the money myself in December.
Since then I have not heard from IRCC. I have submitted web form too.
Anyway, I am moving on with the UK. I don pay deposit sef. My CAS will be out on Thursday.
I am planning on withdrawing my Canada application.
Would you suggest I do that or I leave it running?
Also, when they ask me if I have ever had a visa rejected before, what will I say?
Keep in mind that UK and Canada share immigration information.
Also, how do I withdraw and application? Who can point me in the right direction? My pof will mature the first week in december. The processing time for Canadian study permit is not for the faint hearted or for someone who is working tightly with time as it can take a toll on the individual's mental health. Your application is over a year and i am surprised you did not order your GCMS notes or have you done that already? that would let you know if your application is still being processed or not instead of drawing conclusion if you know what i mean. Asking for previous visa rejections usually is an information you provide at the point or application and not after application (it is important). Again your application is roughly 19 months (76 weeks) as against the 12/13 weeks processing time on IRCCC and its almost/nearly impossible that it is still being processed, however, as i mentioned above you should order your notes to be certain. The withdrawal of your application option is available once you login to your portal, its a one click option and the application withdrawal notification email will be sent to you once it is processed successfully. |

Please can someone advise me on what to do. My Form A application was updated to ADB rejected because I didn’t submit letter of authorization to debit. How do I attach this to my current application? And does this mean the process will start all over again? For Access Bank, all you need to do is go to the trade Portal, click on the refused application, there's an option to amend your documents, upload your letter to debit and contact the bank with the application number to review. If you apply afresh you will start from the bottom on their queue. Good luck. |

MrDam: Good morning my people I will like to share my gcms cbsa note here and if I can see people who can put me through in my next application and so other people wont make the kind of mistake i made. Here attached is the copy of my note Please I beg you all gurus come to my aid GOD BLESS YOU ALL. Sorry about your refusal. First start with the reason statements made, tackle them and the add other supporting documents before you reapply. *There's a reason people pay all or part of their tuition fee, this is to show you're genuinely going to study. *Submitting POF without proof of how the account holder managed to amass such amount is a no no, that's why people attach employment letters, promotion letters, letter of introduction, business registration documents etc. *Having a sponsor without proving how you're related or connected with the person is a no no, that's why people upload family pictures, sponsors int'l passports, birth certificates, affidavits of sponsorship etc. *For POF it's preferable to use MBS as against the printed and stamped statement, this is so that it is sent to IRCC directly and not the one you print, reduce its size and it becomes too blurry to read. Repackage and refire Good luck |

Cheebu: I think it's better to send to VFS Abuja. Sending to VFS Lagos is a lot of stress. First, they'd send to VFS Abuja, then VFS Abuja sends to IRCC Abuja (embassy). And I don't think VFS Lagos sends these passports to Abuja on a daily basis. They probably wait a few days and then dispatch in bulk.
I may be wrong though but that's my observation.
Submitting without paying the SMS fee has its own challenges too, I think. VFS rarely updates the message you get when you type in your tracking number unless it's almost ready for collection. Most times, you have to chat with them or send a mail before they update. It's quite frustrating. I've sent to lag vfs already jare, was trying to avoid any long processing time cos that's where I did my biometrics, didn't know they would forward to Abuja. Thanks @cheebu |
