amaka4obiiiie:I remember I used an SOP draft I found on an older thread of this Canadian visa thread and a lot that I found on Google. I found them on mostly Indian Canada study blogs. I kept reviewing drafts, picking statements I liked and adding to mine. I also used grammarly and two other sites to check for plagiarism repeatedly and for better choice of words. It's tedious but you will need to do the job If you want an outstanding sop describing you and not someone else. Good luck. |
Snooky:Sale of properties, gift deeds, loans etc are a great part of POF for so many people on this thread if you backread. Do I personally know someone? No. Is there any challenge you want to address by knowing someone who did personally? |
Lixusheng:Congratulations |
Whitenaira2014:Don't be discouraged. It can be painful after the long wait. Repackage and refire. |
Winnerpoks:My bank statement - MBS. It's your bank statement sent to IRCC directly by your bank as against the traditional printed, signed and stamped statement. |
Thomsyne:Lol it's crazy I know. It's as expensive as you can imagine. I knew it barely covered 2 yrs and seeing People's POF and explanation here was a great discouragement so i explained the hell out of my SOP as regards that stating that subsequent years would not be a problem. It may not work for everyone but it worked for me. I even quoted their IRCC minimum requirement for POF at some point and explained that I had more than that lol. It's just God that did it for me. |
Princeofabia:Thanks bro. It still feels like a dream. |
7COLOURS:Your PPR will most probably drop tomorrow. Can't wait to celebrate you. |
breakice31:Yea, just be hopeful..My program is 3 yrs... Forgot to add that. I'm sure you packaged your best application, don't stress or worry cos you can't withdraw it. Just be hopeful and prayerful as well. Good luck |
GodswillBeDone:Thanks ![]() |
Snooky:Explain in your sop the source of the funds, attach proof and you're good to go. |
7COLOURS:I prayed it doesn't get to that for you ijn. Resume your emails and webform. Target when they will be resuming work. Don't send mails for them to see towards close of business if you get what I mean. I checked flights too and my jaw dropped. I quickly closed it lol. Will check later |
Yhn1:It will end In praises . The new portal was introduced during COVID or so, not sure, so it's quite new. My plan was to use the old Portal but had issues with payment back then so i switched to the new portal thinking it would solve the payment. I later figured it was cos I was using a naira card so I stuck with the new portal. If not for the 2mb thingy, the new portal was great, it saved me the stress of filing those numerous pdfs lol. |
amaka4obiiiie:MBS - my bank statement. It's your statement generated and sent to the embassy by your bank directly as against the signed printout you scan by yourself and upload. Once the MBS is sent successfully the bank will give you a receipt printout. That's what you upload as you POF. Good luck. |
pufframmy:Yes all accounts |
7COLOURS:Sorry about this. I sent 2 emails and 2 webforms every 6am Nigerian time for like three weeks with weekend breaks I couldn't give the webforms a subject but my email subjects were |URGENT| July applicant - Application past processing time. I changed the subject every week too, I also used |URGENT - APPLICATION PAST PROCESSING TIME| July applicant etc just to draw attention to the mail. |
Chechem:Thanks. Yes I snapped all the pages and uploaded. |
Babysoldier:No I don't |
amaka4obiiiie:I used MBS. I don't really know about GIC or what it entails. |
Oldfashioned145:Thank you @oldfashioned145 |
7COLOURS:Thanks @7colours. I recall our conversation when my application was still fresh. Yours in next ijn amen. |
pufframmy:I omitted that part. I paid first semester fees. I'm not sure about reviewing SOP cos I'm not a guru here, I simply wrote what I felt would present me in a good light. You can consult the gurus here to help or you can ask specific questions about any part of your SOP and I'll give you my opinion. Good luck. |
ANGELAFELIX:Was there a tracking number or something you cam use to contact DHL for feedback? Pls how did you send your passport. |
My timeline - First time self applicant - New portal. *Upfront medicals - 22nd June *Application - 5th July *Biometrics letter came 8th July *Biometrics appointment - 14th July *Medicals updated - 19th July Medicals update change from "we are yet to receive your request" to *we did not receive your request". I panicked and sent my e-medical sheet like 5 times via webform and email before it was updated. *Biometrics updated - 22nd August. Then the long wait *Eligibility started - Oct 26th after over 13 weeks I applied. *Bvl dropped - 14th Nov *PPR - 15th Nov. My documents: *My SOP - 3 pages *School's LOA *Letter of introduction from my office *Job appointment letter *Office ID *4 months pay slip *Birth certificate, NIMC slip and passport *POF - N1.5m *Pension certificate *Waec certificate *Nysc certificate *High school certificate *University certificate *WES evaluation report *Police clearance certificate. Sponsors documents (mum and bro) *Their passports *Their work appointment letters *Their work IDs *Their affidavits and ordinary signed letters of sponsorship *POF (N10m and N5m) *Irrevocable power of attorney for the only landed property we have *Birthday certificate of all my siblings *Several family pictures. This application was just God. My first post on thread 21 is attached to show you how nervous and scared I was. I made up my mind and started the journey in May 2022, got admission 3 weeks into the month and came to Nairaland for visa application advice. I went through several threads before arriving at thread 21 and I was immediately discouraged with the documents I saw people packaging. People had landed properties, business/personal/sponsors accounts with tens/hundreds of millions as turnover and balance, gift deeds here and there, affidavits of different kinds, scholarships etc, so I spent the entire June gathering the documents I could. I had over 30 supporting documents so shrinking it to 2mb was no child's play. I eventually did and uploaded without checking it. I checked afterwards and realized that half of documents were blurry and unreadable, I almost died lol. I just left everything. I'm not a spiricoco person but I don't doubt the God factor so I prayed the little I could every morning till PPR dropped. My take away: Your documents and packaging are important but at the end it's God so don't get carried away with self confidence and don't be discouraged as well, put in your best and leave the rest to God. I had up to 15 SOP drafts till I couldn't draft any more and used the last one to apply so don't underestimate the power of your SOP and do a good job with it. My POF didn't cover my total duration so I ensured that I explained that subsequent years would not be a problem while quoting their minimum requirement on IRCC website. How do I submit my passport, please help.

Esanson:Thanks a lot. Applied July 5th. Will update my timeline inabit |
Pace6:Amen.. thanks a lot |
Thomsyne:Thanks @thomsyne.... Yea First time applicant |

I'm shaking and in tears typing this. It's PPR fam Will be back with my timeline and documents.

Cadygosh:Payment via form A is to the beneficiary on your invoice. If the beneficiary on your invoice is your school then go ahead. The form A portal has three sections, one for your info, the other for the beneficiary's info and the last for your documents upload. Fill in and submit then the long wait for disbursement starts. Good luck. |
Elpromisa:Don't click the forms from the IRCC site to view them directly with the pdf you downloaded. Download the pdf forms from IRCC site, go to where you saved them on your PC and click on open with, select Adobe PDF and it will open. Good luck |
Bigdaddy001:Sorry about this bro. Take a break and refire. Don't forget to contact your school as regards deferring timely so you don't loose your admission. |
