I am to give a presentation (topic: Good things about Nigeria) to some folks here in the UK about Nigeria and after writing down weather as my no.1 I just can't figure out anything else.

No Nigerian is among my audience but couple of them have worked in Lagos, ph and warri infact on of them gave a presentation about the bad of Nigeria. They are all aware of all the emails scams, corruption, kidnapping, religious/ethnic wahalas, infect the last presentation on Nigeria was on dead bodies on the street on port harcourt.

So I am kind of short of ideas on what to preach to these guys.

Much as I do not see anything wrong with compensating the biafran soldiers with 1.5B naira, I think the average Igbo man will prefer that money to be used to dredging river Niger than some pack of people just dividing among themselves.

On the whole based on this budget, apparently year 1 is gone without anything that will be shown for it, if the trend of execution of project is same then we should just be waiting the next three yrs of GEJ.

If GEJ is actually going to pick his ministers from this list then we are just in the same business as usual, But what do we really expect when all we do is get our leaders by selection and zoning.

Zoning, selection and all form of nepotism will only lead to mediocrity

What baffles me is that it took Libyan's rebel about 3 weeks after the first protest to get themselves all armed, syria, bahrain and yemen have been protesting for months now and they do not even have "knives". its obvious the whole stuff is pre-meditated. The Egypt revolution was for over 5 weeks before mubarak was removed, a lot of people died but the masses was not armed.

Its like we do not seem to get the problem, we have never lacked the ideas of voting, the problem is that the senate and federal house of rep are the ones that do not like any mode of voting that can't be rigged. their reason is:

Enjoy your PDP and everything that comes with it and stop complaining or is it BUHARI and his religious fanatics that are operating in Delta now?. It is too early to complain, just a week out of four years.

Do we have to go through all these poo to get it right? No. GHANA is a case study where election is now truly free and fair. In GHANA no more movement restrictions, no all these nonsense measures and their election is free and fair. Nigeria is a failed state.

@all if you have been voting PDP, go collect your vote o o o o.

Ghana paid the price before they start enjoying, until we are ready to pay the same price then nothing will happen, the wrong set of people are the ones being sacrifice by our national criminal.

I think this is what happened all across the nation, where the number of votes declared were totally doctored either by consent or coercion by the NYSC and other INEC officials, I hope they will be bold enough to say what they went through.

We need a total reform in our electoral process that will give no room for result manipulations, we must start using technological backings to achieve this.

The simple question is who will enact of pass the bill, the same set of crooks that will use the rigging to get to their political office. I don't think a thief will pass a law that will put him in jail. We will just be going round and round.

We really need to break away from tis trend. I just do not know how yet.

Regarding your questions above, I will try to answer them just in the same sequence it was posted.

1. The reason is simple, every other religion/belief has been diluted with the conventional life style (a.k.a civilization), Islam is the only way of life that has tried and still trying to keep its pristine nature. As you have rightly noted the Islamic ruling of someone denouncing his faith is hard punishment and sometimes death, Sincerely, I can't remember anywhere in the Quran where the law said the person should be killed but[b] i know the rules and laws in the Quran are meant for an Islamic state[/b] and for our personal lives. Another part of the Quran actually categorically say "There is no compulsion in religion" which means we can do ours and you can do yours.  The question is who are we (muslims) that we want to go against the Quran teachings, if the Quran say you should do something and then you have to do it as long as you are a muslim.

2. There are no churches in Saudi Arabia and that simply because of their laws, i can't tell you what to allow in your own house, but remember there are no mosques too in the vatican city, it is also a country. (There are mosques in Rome but not the vatican)

3. Concerning the marriage, The Islamic law is that a female Muslim is discouraged from marrying outside the religion, but the male is permitted to marry a Christan or Jew, this is also frowned at but allowed legally. This is the ruling and we are bound to abide by it.

4. We are not obliged to fight for God, but we are commanded to go against tyranny, oppressors and all forms of evils. in the Quran, there was a particular set of people that wanted to demolish mecca but God himself fought them and not the people. Most muslims today try to fight for God because of martydom, i personally believe a lot of them got it wrong (it is against the teaching os islam to kill innocent/civillians of any community irrespective of the rationale). Also the supposedly muslim leaders today are the tyrant and oppressors but thats not the teaching.
A short story here, Ali (one of the Prophet disciples) was fighting during war, with another man, after he has disarmed the man and was on him,  the man spat on him. he stood up and told the man he couldn't kill him because if he had done so, it would have been because of the man's spitting on him.

5. Why Martydom, It is part of the teaching of Islam that if someone dies as a martyr, he wont be questioned about  how he spent his live on this earth. so people tend to translate this as a short cut to heaven. I personally think this belief has been turned upside down, because the people the Prophet actually told this are people that are already upright and keep to the teachings of the Quran, these days we see people that hardly say their 5 daily prayers but want the short cut to heaven, so they do anything any sweet tongue (so-called) imam tell them to do.


The truth is that today:

1. Islam is totally different from muslims, but the unfortunate thing is that Islam will continue to be judged by the actions of muslims.
2. Islam can't be practice without knowledge, today's muslims don't even know the basics of their religion.
3. Islam is against Monarchical system but all supposedly islamis states are using the system.
4. Islam is the only way of life that is struggling to keep its pristine belief just the way it was 1400 years ago, because of this it has gotten all form assaults from the west, it will continue because we believe that God's teaching are not suppose to change with time, we believe that those teachings are still relevant to our present issues and we must continue to folow them.

The challenge is that the Muslims must find a better way handling the situations rather than bombing and violence. I can't see this happening as long as the love for money is in the equation.

Regarding what the Hausa's are doing, they are not fighting for God or Islam, they are just another set of ignorant, jobless and uneducated set of youth. product of our visionless leaders and victims of their regional local teachers/society.

whats the difference between mend's bombing and these set of ignoramus bombin, the simple problem is that we have insecurity issue which must be addressed.
