Ur freedom of speech ends where another person's own starts. And also where the law starts..
And that law is represented by the officer.
U can see the type of reasoning u r using. No wonder.

Be using google as ur Constitution there. Lol

Moreover the people u even captured seem to also be groaning like angry kids who were mocking the prophet and then complaining after they were punished.

Continue with ur google law and order.
what are you saying??
undecided I said it is legal to curse at the police but it is not advisable. Is that so hard to understand. It is way better in the United states though you can be harassed
Something that is in the first amendment

Moreover was disrespecting prophets not already part of the law?

If u like break laws and cry foul when the hammer falls on ur head.

And Please where is it legal to curse at law enforcement officers?
That must be a new one. Please enlighten me.
You are actually justifying murder cuz it was in Gods case. I honestly don't know what to tell you again

U can see u r drifting away from reality?
lol Are you for real?? Is murder the best punishment for mockery. There are other ways to serve punishments for such a trivial matter. You certainly don't deserve to die. It is legal to curse at the police but it is simply ill advisable to do so it's like you don't know that saying "Bleep the police to an officer" is not illegal. It is simply not advisable. In democratic countries it is legal. It is legal in the United states. And even if it is not legal you don't deserve to die for it

The Abrahamic God murdered 42 children for laughing at his prophet. A judge would not sentence somebody to death for something so trivial and unreasonable. That was why your comment surprise me

I've written something like this before. It makes perfect sense why would you be specially pleading for God?? When God does it it's okay. I mean if God was absolutely moral cuz morality was absolute and the nature of "right" and "wrong" surpassed space time and existance then why the Bleep where some things a sin in the old testament and not the new testament. It is not supposed to change

CURE 2: Ask a JEHOVAH'S WITNESS

In truth I would have become an Atheist myself if not for a 25 minutes discussion with these travelling preachers. Basically when I was small there was a Jehovah Lady that was studying with me thus I felt at ease asking one of them.

My greatest fear in asking in asking our Priest is that they wont answer you and may even report you to your parents. Worse it might be announced by the priest on Sunday......"BRETHREN WE HAVE A LOST SOUL IN OUR MIDST".

Basically among other things these Jehovah People showed me two scriptures that changed my life. I DIDNT EVEN KNOW SUCH VERSE EVEN EXISTED.

He stretches out the north over the empty place, and hangs the earth on nothing. JOB 26: 7 [King James Version]

Looking at the above bolded, JOB KNEW THAT THE EARTH WAS HANGING ON NOTHING. JOB LIVED BEFORE david AND YET HE KNEW.....HOWhuh??

Isaiah 40:22 -It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth.....

long before christopher colubus and Ferdinand Migellan, Isaiah [a farmer] knew that the Earth was circular. Even aristotle who lived thousand of years later did not know.

ATHEIST SHOULD DIRECT THEIR ANGER TO RELIGION AND NOT GOD
if you want to believe in talking snakes and that the fact that a man named all the animals in the world, a woman was formed from a rib and that the earth was created in 2 days but all the billions of massive stars in our universe was made in one day that's great
There are people that have passed that stage
Most unbelievers don't deny the existance if a supreme being I personally don't know if a God exists or not but earthly religion is so contradictory that it is only rational to think that if there is a creator then it is not the one from the religious texts in anyway atall
I don't if there's a creator or not but the Abrahamic God is obviously made up
It's called Agnosticism. Most atheists wouldn't say they KNOW the universe came from nothing. The only atheist I know that has been so explicit was Stephen hawking and although I respect him alot I was disappointed at the statement. We don't know yet how the universe came to be but we are finding out religion is irrefutable methodology. Science is not

You guys don't seem to realise that jesus was a JEW he worshipped in the synagogue, he observed Passover he went on Jewish pilgrimages and to make matters worse he openly said that he came for the lost sheep of Isreal and said he can't take the children's bread and feed it to he dogs. He instructed his disciples not to go to the town of the gentiles and Samaritans but only to the "lost sheep of Isreal". You guys don't like hearing you evolved from an ape like ancestor but your lord and saviour called all gentiles "dogs"
Hmmm seems legit
After he was rejected by the Jews because of his claim to be God he then decided to take the rest of humanity as a third wheel. A third wheel is a last resort. Like a friend you hang out with when there's no other option. This was what yeshua did for the rest of humanity. Donald trump says a lot of hateful things about Hispanics and other minorities. Now if he is not getting the European Americans vote he would turn back to the minorities he once insulted. Hmmmmmm seems legit. How many Hispanics or Nigerian Americans do you think would vote for him after such a move. You guys will be shocked if jesus' should actually come back. He would just evaporate the Jews "Gods chosen people" and then the gentile christians eyes will finally clear
Why the creator of the universe would have a "chosen people" is a mystery to me. God can't be racist . The a Abrahamic God is obviously made up
Agnostism is the best stand

It might interest you to know that the Big Bang is still a theory and will remain a theory for eternity. Why would you want to rely on a theory rather than fact? The Bible has held its own for centuries despite countless efforts to discredit it. The choice is yours, if you ever decide to chose Christianity in future, you will need to humble yourself and ask God to reveal Himself to you.
lol the big bang theory can be disproved it is not like religion and for the umpteenth time a scientific theory is not the same as a lame mams version of s theory. The big bang theory is not an irrefutable methodology. If someone is able to effectively disprove it today science would not complain. If someone was able to disprove evolution today science would not complain. The person would even get a Nobel prize. That is the beauty of science. It isn't afraid to revaluate. You are encouraged to ask questions you are encouraged to doubt it is falsifiable. Religion on the other hand is the exact opposite of this religion is like " the bible is 100% true " when it is clearly not it is an irrefutable methodology. It does not re evaluate it's claims when provided with evidence. A good example is what the church did to Galileo Galelei. A scientific theory is something that is widely accepted after a lot of observation, evaluation and experiments
A scientific theory is not a wild guess if you had said big bang is a hypothesis THAT is the scientific version of the laymans theory "a hypothesis

There's no consequence for not believing in athiesm, you die and everything ends grin
stop using pascals wager as a yardstick for your belief are you forgetting that Christianity isn't the only religion in the world. It also has a number of denominations so how are you sure Catholics are wrong or protestants. After all all other denominations broke out of the catholic church so it is only rational for a catholic to see other denominations as heresy. If you were alive during the inquisition you would have been burnt to the stake if you practised a different christian doctrine(heresy) what of Christianity is wrong, what if Protestantism is wrong What if Mormonism is right. I personally don't see how people can be Mormons but yet people still believe that doctrine that is the power of delusion what if the methodists are right or what if Islam is right you are failing to consider other religions and other christian denominations not to mention I am yet to understand how you guys are 100% comfortable with an innocent man being punished so you a guilty person can escape accountability. You are not even guilty cuz you weren't born during the time of Christ. Another immoral thing punishing people for the sins they didn't commit. You guys call it "original sin" or "adamic nature" this is total bull! How does this make sense undecided A perfect being would not advocate such an immoral flawed system. How would you like it if you an innocent person were brutally punished for the crimes of a rapist. Yet this is what the entire christian doctrine is based upon. I'm sure if we had a chance to save jesus Christ that you claim to love so much you wouldn't save him. Why? cuz that'll means you would be responsible for your own wrongdoing and yet Christianity claims to be moral. We don't practice that kind of barbaric law in our judiciary simply because it makes no sense and is not moral. The cross is a device used for torture and that is your holy symbol. If jesus Christ was killed with a Molotov cocktail that would be the symbol of Christianity. If he was killed with an AK47 that will be the symbol if Christianity. If he was burned to the stake that would be the symbol of Christianity
If God wanted to forgive our sins he could have just forgiven them. He didn't have to send his son to be tortured and killed. A perfect being would know better

Atheism isn't the disbelief of a universal God(Creator in this sense) it is the belief that all deities portrayed by human religions don't exist. So why most atheist will never argue about the existence of a universal Creator(God) they wholeheartedly reject any deity as real.

How did reasoning and spirituality enter this world, according to athiesm?
point of correction I don't think most atheists say nothing created something. Well me personally I'm agnostic I simply say I don't know it's honestly not hard. Maybe a creator worked though the big bang. I don't know. Maybe a creator planted the first cells that were able to reproduce and grow into a tree- like system with the branches of various life. I don't know However my ignorance on the origin of a creator would not make me subscribe to religious superstation and bullcrap. A woman was not formed out of a mans rib. if you believe in the Jewish myth that says Adam named all the animals, a woman was made from a rib, they were deceived by a talking snake, then the associated in so much inbreeding that they populated the planet only for the planet to be destroyed and then Noah and his family continued in the inbreeding then that is your problem. so atheists are confused as to how we came about? so why the choice to become atheists in the first place when the knowledge you have about the universe and it origin are inconclusive.
it's quite simple. Because the religious answers make no sense. I find it hard to believe that a woman was formed from the rib of a man and that they and deceived by a talking snake and engaged in inbreeding to populate a world that was later destroyed so then they engaged in inbreeding again with the surviving humans. It sounds like a myth infact it is myth. It is no different from the creation myths of other cultures. Adam did not name all the animals in the world. The animals all did not live in a garden at first and there was definitely not a boat that was created by 8 unskilled people that was able to harbor all the animals in the world. In other world histories there was civilisation during the time of the great flood. At the same time I can't say if we were created or not I'd have to know everything to outrightly say there is no God but I just feel that the religious versions of God is simply not the answer. The Abrahamic God is far from the definition of a perfect being. A perfect being is supposed to be better than humans. A perfect being is not supposed to operate on ego like the Abrahamic God. The Abrahamic God is just simply man made

...Gradually, I had stopped going to my church as frequently as before. They had nothing new to teach me. I also began to form my opinions using empathy, rational enquiry, logic and reason rather than religious dogma. I dropped all my superstitions in favour of evidence about the natural world and things in it. I sought to understand the cause of things rather than stare at them in awe and ascribe them to unseen forces. I accepted reality, made informed decisions about my life and took responsibility for outcome of these decisions.
I suddenly developed this 'strange' love for all of humanity irrespective of religion, culture and race, as much, I try to make it enjoyable for everyone around me. Afterall, what's the point in hoping for a blissful afterlife while living a miserable life. I never felt so happy with so much satisfaction. Unfortunately, I tend to disagree severally with religious people on some issues, especially family. It's quite disheartening that they perceive me as 'bad' & 'lost'. All these happened within the space of 3 years, just before my graduation.

I joined Nairaland earlier but recently stumbled on a post and to my amazement, I wasn't alone after all. I'd love to met some people here in person e.g Johnny, winner, sharon and Seun. You guys are great. Though the atheists make such sarcastic arguments, their points are valid most of the time, while many Christians know so little about religion. These arguments really did a good job in further weakening my belief in the Bible God. If He is there, he'd understand my reasons for doubting the Bible account of him. He should be a just judge.

well for one it will be clear. This is not the case in religion. Even in Christianity there are different denominations with their different belief systems, protestants, Baptists , Mormons and Jehovah witnesses just to name a few. We don't disagree like this on a math equation. If the creator of the universe wanted everyone to be aware of it's existence then it would have made it so clear to us so that we would all be in agreement and not allow it's message be spread by falliable corruptible humans that will twist things here and there for their own selfish case. I don't know if a God exists or not but with this confusion I think it is just better to be agnostic.

Classical example of an emotional appeal and FEAR OF HELL.

Its very obvious, even if theists try to deny this, that the main reason why many people remain religious that they fear eternal damnation in hell.

Not only is this saddening and pathetic, it is also pityable. Christains have tried severally to rationalize the concept of an all loving god creating hell , by stating that hell wasnt created for man.

However, which ever way you look at it, logically, the concept of hell alone betrays Gods Ominscience and Omnibenovelence.

Which ever god falls short of these two qualities hardly qualifies to bear the title "God".

As an agnostic , i dont know if a creator might exist or not, but of all religions in existence, the idea of the creator in which they propose usually turns out to be fallacious and self contradictory.

Besides apart from that the book is morally backward with a time frame of about 2000 years. Didn't the bible say it is a shame for.a woman to speak in the church. In the early church women weren't even allowed in the Choir. Plus the attributes sounds like he was made my man and not the other way around. There is a fundamental human desire to solve puzzles, and over the centuries of evolution and solving some mysteries, man has naturally assumed himself the superior being.

Since Superior beings must have infinite knowledge of everything, having an unknown becomes a stain on our ''glorious'' image and I think that vain resolve is the backbone of both religion and science. However, Evolution and science is inquisitive and has taught us that things change with time... people get stronger and more beautiful, plants are modified to become superior and scientific evidences are debunked by other scientific evidences as intelligence grows. This is the infinite pattern of scientific life - Growth.

Can we say the same for religion? does it allow for inquisition for growth?,absolutely not... It subjects you to 2000 year old texts as the standard of living a 21st century life. Obsolete texts that no longer apply to our modern life since we have already debunked some of those facts and we have already evolved to better and more intelligent people.

This i think is the fundamental difference between the two - The need for knowledge and the resistance to it.

Now, what religion has masterfully crafted though, is the application of fear to extract submission. This is the best form of resistance and this is probably why a real intellectual discussion may never be achieved by both parties.

Anyway, my point is we are driven by our quest for knowledge as humans but we do not necessarily have all the answers - at least not all the right ones. Science has advanced better because it allows for questioning while religion is stuck because it is fundamentally authoritarian. In the end, We need to sit back, take a chill pill and enjoy life one day at a time.
thank you dude you made soo much sense. It is sad this religious people will never listen. Science is not afraid of admitting it's mistakes and going back to the drawing board if it is proven wrong religion is the exact opposite
