I recently submitted an application with a total score of 493 on the 10th of August. However, with the new need for biometrics, do I need to get those taken now or wait till I get an ITA before going to get my biometrics data captured?
einsteino: I remember we had a discussion on this months back. The consensus was that banks dont disclose balance, we felt they could only verify an SOA when contacted by a thirdparty. Well someone just shared her story and it contradicts what we presumed. Maybe her bank does things differently. Eitherways, you should be mindful.
hayor2014: I copied the appropriate sections of PENCOM ACT 2014 and the link to the Act for the review officer to check, attached again the pension letters for the officer to view again.....but to avoid stories, I added 3k dollars and put it in T.bills, making a total of 23k dollars as POF, I have not heard anything from them since then, though they have acknowledged receipt of the new uploads
kopas: Hello everyone. Please I need your advise. I want to know if it's fine to add to my job title post ITA. I got my reference letter from my previous employer and I noticed they added a word to my job title. I hope it's fine to change it on my profile post ITA. This won't affect my CRS or NOC
On the issue of using PFA as proof of funds, we need people to speak up as regarding their own application. @hayor2014, can you please give us an update on how it went with the POF?
PrinceAdeAde: Great but just one thing. Is this statement applicable for both Federal as it is for provincial nomination. I haven't had anyone using it for Federal though i have very little pple i know that have used federal so it may just be limited information due to my network. please help clarify if you have info abt this
Not necessarily. The issue came up in Thread 4. I think it was @Guitarlife who noticed it in his gcms notes. The conclusion then was that case officers calculate other funds first. If the funds are adequate, the PFA fund is not included. No one has yet reported that POF was found inadequate due to PFA funds. Until then, we will assume it is still valid. cc @doppler06
Ifeoma77: Hi, I'm curious, did your PFA letter state that you're entitled to 25% if out of job for 4 months? I'm trying to understand why they refused the pension fund.
See bolded. You already have your answer. If it is different, WES will let her know.
dumprep: I reckon the WAEC requirement is ONLY for applicants who obtained the degrees (they want to have evaluated) in Nigeria as WAEC is not displayed when I select "Sierra Leone" in the Country of Education dropdown list.
I think you may be doing something wrong. Check notes in red.
ymarts: I tried using the CRS evaluation tool but couldn't comprehend some fields so the result was around 220. Watch this youtube video to help you understand the process: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWwX-4Hp6hE
And how does she proceed to start the express entry process, check here including for Australia and New Zealand try searching the Travel thread of Nairaland. DIY links are there if possible so I can give her comprehensive and correct information pls.
Depends on if the NOC you choose states high school or university as the minimum education required.
Under work history in the EE profile, you are asked: Date you first became qualified to practice in this occupation If the "primary occupation" is: a qualified trade (four-digit code begins with 632, 633, 72, 73, 82, 92), this is the date they became qualified to practice on their own in Canada. (For example, when they moved from apprentice to being a licensed tradesperson.) any other job, this is the date they first obtained the minimum education or training stated in the NOC description. (Note: if the NOC only states high school, this is the date they graduated.)
Note this too:No Co-op terms and apprenticeships completed before graduating do not count as skilled work experience. They are considered part of an educational program. Check here.
Oben209: What if the internship is pre-graduation and it’s a paid internship
Sorry, forgotten the details. Might ask him again. Maybe you should change from Liz to other teacher. Learn other models of writing and mix it up a bit. my 2cents.

TEF: Test d’évaluation de français French exam needed for migration to Canada. You and Nogen are the Canadian French speakers I know of. The others in the Living in Canada thread do not seem to be speakers (I hope I am wrong, the more help the better).
Quite a lot of people need to take French in order to boost their points for migration. I am asking for tips on learning French and encouragement for people.
P.S. @mazuide also wrote that he is learning though he has not come online for a while.
TheCongo2: I wish I could help but I have no idea what TEF is.
I had a discussion with a friend sometimes ago. He just had a 7 in writing after 3 or 4 attempts (don't remember which) after having 6.5 in earlier attempts. I was arguing that people were being marked down in writing. He said maybe not, maybe the examiners are on to something. While preparing for the last exam, he decided to change how he wrote. He said he noticed he used to write his introductory paragraph the same way and so decided to tweak it. He believed that was why his score changed. I don't know if he was right, but I'm posting this in case it helps somebody. Maybe we can assess how we have been writing and change it. Maybe the model we have been using is being screened out by the examiners. Maybe too many people are writing the same way. Just a thought. Btw, he did his IELTS in the middle-east.
hmm, tough bro... This marking down on writing is getting more and more serious... You can apply for remark... but ask yourself how sure you are of what you wrote...
