In Achebe's case, he has clouded Facts with his Opinion...... He is always a Fictional writer though and now He is among those elders who has toyed with the peaceful co-existence of Nigeria simply cuz he is frustrated.........!!!!!

Even though many people might agree that Nigeria is a bad country doesnt make it a Fact. its still an opinion

Facts are universally accepted true statements e.g Nigerian Flag is Green white green. Opinion is "Nigeria is a bad country"

Mind you, the controversial part of the book was clearly stated by Prof. Achebe himself as his "impression" which makes it less of a fact but opinion, which personally I find malicious and rightly angered by the senseless and unpatriotic way it is delivered.
Anyway, its all sentiments!

On the judgement day, God will not judge based on the fact that your president is corrupt but you will stand alone to give account of your life. Before God sin is a sin. So why don't you leave GEJ and RCCG alone and think about your own life. Remember what Jesus told the people that wanted to stone the adultrous woman to death. Same is happening here. You think God has condemned our president? No. I still strongly believe that God with him and in due season what God is doing through him for nigeria will show.
Our president needs our prayer, that is why he came to the house of God. So let's continue to pray for him. Our critisism will not solve any problem.

I would also love to know the church you attend.

Are you telling me that if GEJ visits he won't be given a sit in the front as a special guest and as the one in the helm of affair in which the church is situated. Also are you saying he won't be allowed to address the congregation.
I love the way you reason brother, and of course there's nothing wrong in GEJ addressing the congregation and there's nothing wrong in him attending the holy ghost congress.

But my bone of contention is Adeboye should have told him not to capitalize on the opportunity given him to campaign and further tell lies to Nigerians and also he Adeboye should have use this very medium to tell him about the lousy way he's been running the country and to drum it into his ears that "the wages of sin is death" not smother him the way he did....

For the records, I'm not a member of The Redeem Church, I'm furious at the way GEJ has handled the nation, Pastor Adeboye is not even one of my favorite, but honestly I see nothing wrong with GEJ sitting in the front pew and also addressing the congregation, He is the President of Nigeria.

Also about Jesus sermon on the mount, I can't find where he said honoring a President or King in church is a crime.
Also about James, looking at that verse critically, It's not really applicable. Honestly, GEJ is the president, even though he MIGHT be a looter and sinner, I still don't see anything wrong in Him sitting in front and addressing the congregation, though he tried to capitalise on the opportunity and made a small campaign(a typical politician), but the congregation will only demonstrate extreme stupidity by voting for him based on his presence and speech in their camp.

PointB: Anenih, Buhari, Tinubu, Obj, IBB are a few example of the shenanigans the Nigeria system tolerate. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. Hence, if we must condemn the Anenihs of this world, coup plotters like Buhari, and IBB should have been shot long ago not accorded seats and undue privileges at Council of State. Mega thieves like Obj should be cooling in jail, not junketing around the world in the name of 'envoy.' Tinubu, whose fraud is of both local and international proportion should be answering 'yes sir presido' to some scared-face inmate in Kirikiri maximum security, not allowed to steal Lagos State fund and install his stooge all over the place to cover the tracks of his criminal activity.

Picking on Anenih, when these other malevolent characters dot the corridors of power and wealth unhindered is simply hypocritical. We must collectively condemn them all when the opportunity presents itself. But since this is not the case, let each continue with the selective amnesia. Afterall, this is Nigeria.

PointB: Frankly I don't know what's on the mind of the majority. Their is no poll to ascertain that at the moment. But my argument is that CNPP do not speak for all Nigerians as I cannot recall when they were elected to do so. But that does not take away the validity of the position.

In anycase, why do all these parties approach issues with mentality of market women. Why can't they go to the court to argue their case rather than this crass approach of noisemaking ala Tunde Bakera.
