ifyalways: That road is terrible,a nightmare.Ile epo to Sango ke? Iyana Ipaja to pleasure bus stop has it own palava oh, right now the hold up there is breath taking. |
Those why ply Iyana Ipaja to Sango will affirm that the road is in shambles, The gridlock caused by the total neglect of that road is appalling. I was even thinking the number one supporter of the GEJ government will be on this thread blowing his trumpet as usual am talking about no other than Nairaland's sincere 9gerian. Still I ask what will it take for some Nigerians to know that GEJ is just like OBJ and the rest of our irresponsible leaders who plunder the countrys' resources at the detriment of the masses. |
Afam4eva: I may die for humanity but not Nigeria. Nigeria is an artificial creation and imo is not worth dying for.So who are the people living inside Nigeria, APES I presume?. |
How come Oritsejafor is the man of God at hand! How come you see him in any PDP/jonathan function? Is he the only Pastor in CAN? Or has Nigeria started experiencing scarcity of clergy man? And yet some people here will say this so called man of God is not a sycophant! Hobnobbing with the high and corrupt just to gain political favour thus forgeting that the Jesus he claims to serve spoke lucidly against hypocrisy... I honestly want to believe that this man has derailed from his calling. |
Sincere 9gerian: I thought you'v said that before? I guess repetition of the same post or line of thought makes you feel high.Right back at you sincere 9gerian! Right back at you... |
taharqa: @OP, GEJ is definitely yr Nightmare. Problem is, he wud continue to torment you till 2015 at least, and possibly beyond.... That is d portion of BAD LOSERS, you know..So your saying his ineptitude and docile nature doesn't torment you as an individual? Well done bro atleast we now know your not residing in Nigeria. |
Ever the since the inception of democracy I'll willingly and vehemently say none of the President we've so far produced have lived up to expectation.e |
ibide: @ op can u die for nigeria ? Any way can't even pray for nigeriaI use to think that I couldn't die for Nigeria, but after my NYSC I discoverd that I CAN, and would gladly do so. If the purpose is genuine, afterall "its better do die for something than to die for nothing" |
tallfish145: Na person wey no get money for bb go talk say its not special. Get one today and enjoy d effizy dat follows it!Bro I actually use a bb and believe me androids are a lot better... |
People your reasons will be greatly appreciated! |
Sometime ago, I use to believe dying for ones country is the greatest honour a man can achieve. Owing to the believe that you gave your life so others can live. This line of believe can be seen in many countries, for instance the United States of America, where even the common citizen will willingly give up his life for the good of the country. Coming back home, I recently heard a man complaining bitter about Nigeria saying that Nigeria has raped, tortured and maimed him, he said he spent thirty good years of his life serving this country only for the country to return his services with hardship, neglect and total negligence. Another man also said if given the opportunity he won't hesitate to sell Nigeria! The list is endless... So I ask, how come many Nigerians are very unwilling to die for Nigeria? |
gunpoint:Also reading this on my blackberry and I will comment! Blackberry is past tense, can't wait to get me an android, no offense but i-phones are also useless owing to the fact that Apple are greedy sons of bitches! |
Come to think of it people, do we actually need a special day(feb 14) to tell or show our loved ones just how much them mean to us?... My point exactly! |
Afam4eva: I also hate valentines day to my bone marrow but i want to know if love is un-islamic.Why do you hate valentines day? |
I've since observed that majority of the country's employers of labour have now become obsessed with age!. Observe closely that most employers of labour will vehemently ask for a specific age grade when they want to recruit. So I ask, what's age got to do with it? I Am most baffled, is it an individuals age that will do what you ask that individual to do or the ability of that individual to deliver. |
Political parties are formed based on ideologies and with the sole aim of contesting and winning election! And yet to see a political party in Nigeria with an Ideology! It is a shame that the merger party or APC as they call it has no ideology, what else can these money grubblers offer the Nigerian massess apart from the status quo?. Be it PDP, APC or whatever name they want to call it, they are all ten and tempest, non have the genuine interest of the common man at heart!. Smh! |
Sincere 9gerian: Hmmmm!"Sharing" a word that was enshrine and promoted by the PDP with the sole aim off keeping some people satisfied and others dissatisfied! |
Some time ago, I posted a thread on nairaland and facebook equating football and religion, stressing the fact that football have achieved far move success than Christianity and Islam put together. That is the peaceful co existence of christians and muslims. The performance of the Super Eagles Of Nigeria in the just concluded African Cup Of Nations is testament to that!. During the entire duration of the competition, you'll have to agree that all elements of religious bigotry was thrown in the gutter and everybody was united by a common goal to the extent that christians and muslims didn't actually care if they were in the same room watching the match with an atheist or a marabout. Even those who still paraded their bigotry were instantly berated by people who share the same faith with them and made to see the errors of their myopic ways of thinking, should this bigots display this traits in areas associated with christianity or islam, they will undoubtedly have sympathizers, but as the case may be... If Muslims, Christians and Idol worshippers as well as atheist can sit down together as ONE people, United by a common goal with every sense of patriotism, perhaps it is time we know that we are not different from each other, we share the same joy, pain, sorrow etc. What affects a muslim directly or indirectly affects an atheist or a christian. Isn't it time we put aside our religious affiliations/sentiment and come together as a people, to forge a country united not by football but by something far more superior called Patriotism then we can truely be called "The Giant Of Africa". |
During the 1970's and 80's when corruption, oppression and intimidation was creeping its way into the hearts of Nigerians and Africans alike most of us who were around at that time would have to agree that it was rigorously and vehemently spoken against by not just will meaning people but also by Musicians of that era. Musicians like Miriam Makeba, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Sunny Okosun, Orits Wiliki and Co use their music as a means of fighting against these ills, to the extent that some of them were hated, ostracized and even exiled from their country! Names like Miriam Makeba and Fela Kuti readily comes to mind. So I want to ask, what are the present day Musicians using their music to do?, what sort of messages are they spreading?. When you listen to most of their music, you can't help but ask what on Earth are these people saying?, what sort of messages are they spreading? The same corruption, oppression and intimidation which the likes of Fela kuti and co laudable criticize and vociferously spoke against via their music is the same thing these our present day musicians are encouraging and praising! What I find absurd about it is that nobody seems to be blinking an eye lid over it! Infact many people have even embrace it to the extent that the amount of negative things a kid knows is not even up to the amount negative things we knew when many of us were kids. What a country! Corruption, Oppression, Intimidation, sexual perversion, lies, deceit and many vices are now becoming enshrine in our every day life and many of our present day musicians are aiding in the spread of it. God help us. |
Of course not, that is is exactly what my point is. We should not be wasting money on providing AFCON when that is the private sectors responsibility especially as the Federal Government has so many things it has to take care of. The kind of infrastructure investment required in Nigeria is so massive that the federal government even if they became diligent overnight would still not be able to fund the project and this is an issue of paramount and immediate importance then someone is talking about paying for AFCON, wtf are HiTV and AIT there for?
Point noted! |
the ministry of info. in Ghana few years ago launched 14 free satellite hosted foreign and local channels not just for Ghanians but the whole of west Africa,(multi tv) mind you that most of those channels are either live streams they spend money to broadcast or pre paid channels. Yes and they have denied somebody the chance to start up a tele business, no wonder so many Ghanaian's are starving, the governments takes away their options vis-à-vis doing business, kinda like China where the government runs everything and 700 million people are starving Now what is the ministry of Info. in the most populous black nation in the world doing with their budget? if you cant answer that then you are a stark m0r0n with inferiority complex. Obviously other things that are relevant to being a FEDERAL REPUBLIC as opposed to a communist republic. I have been accused of many things but having an inferiority complex is not one of them ^_^ Ghana is managing to export about 48,000bbls of crude daily with a tiny population and you think your Govt is doing you a a favor with corruption? The implication being that all Ghanaian's work on these refineries? Otherwise what does the nations population have to do with anything? are you aware that most pay tV channels in Europe and America are viewed free in the middle east courtesy of their Govt? same oil money like Nigeria? Look at my first response and don't worry when oil looses its luster they will revert to being barren deserts because they never bothered to learn to be self sustaining and diverse. Any dip in oil prices greatly affects their economies and if that is what you want you can always relocate there as opposed to countries like Germany that were completely unaffected by the recession and have actually been growing in spite of it truth is; most Nigerians have not traveled out to understand how real Govt work, we have subconsciously set mediocrity as a standard. I am not in Nigeria as I type this and I haven't been for the past five years, I have read up on governments and ruling systems, wars, management of today and general world history for as far back as the internet allows so put that in your pipe and smoke it. most Saudi Arabian and Libyan citizens have never worked in their life courtesy of oil money, yet Our Niger deltans, custodians of Nigeria's oil wealth are up in arms for a mere 13% that cant go round. At a GDP per capita of 5700 USD most Libyans are considerably poor people and if you want to be lazy you can always relocate there. Also Libya has a population of 5 million, such a population can easily be serviced with very little oil, Nigeria at 160 million cannot be handled by the government, the people need to drive the economy, Saudi Arabia is like Lybia albeit to a lesser extent and by Western Standards even the Saudi Arabians with their GDP per capita of 26,000 USD aren't very well off, they are more like Portugal and Greece at 22,000 USD and 24000 USD respectively who Ironically are begging Germans for money but you can always look to Saudi Arabia as your role model. you guys are shameless Better shameless than easily impressionable like you are, consider all sides and consequences of things before buying into it like sheep. We agree that Nigeria is fugged up but there is a place where a country like Nigeria must be headed, we are too big to be a welfare state like Libya, Botswana and Qatar, It is much easier and much more efficient for Nigeria to aim to be like South Korea, Japan, Germany and The US, it seems a lofty goal but with Nigerians population and resources it is the most effective way, government encourages, protects and supplies all that the people need to fly by themselves, it cannot work otherwise, there is far too much for it to micromanage the way the UAE and previously mentioned countries do, we are not setup like them.
Mr Crowe more than 80 percent of the countries you listed here have constant power supply, good roads, portable and pipe borne drinking water, accomodations etc. The evidence and presence of a functioning government, can you compare Nigeria with the countries you just mentioned?... |
Omexonomy: @op think well b4 you hit the submit button next time. Having said that.Wow bro am really impressed by your post! But riddle me this, you worked hard all your life to be where you are today without the assistance of the govenrment and I take it you now pay tax to the same government whom you've not benefitted anything from all these time, doesn't that mean your a FOOL? However way we tend to look at it, there are many responsilities which our present day government have shied away from Period!. |
Anime all the way! Believe me Anime protray a more positive message than most movies of today! I'd chose Anime over our so called home video any day, any time. BANKAI! |
It has become increasingly apparent that mighty words of wisdom like this has no positive impact on the majority of the Nigerian populace! |
taharqa: Bunch of Noisemaking Ijiots.... So again, what is a 'Mission House'? It is certainly not a Residential House (any body who blives that is a certified ijiot). B4 I condemn a thing I must know what I am condemning....Mr Man in case you forgot, "this is Africa" and here, a womans' place is in a her husbands house! So I actually don't see the basis on building a "mission house" for our beloved first lady!. You would do well to ask yourself if Michelle Obama has a mission house as well as other first ladies over the world! To me this idea is preposterous and inane, it causes one to lift an eye lid and ask if our President is indeed "Sane". |
Maxymilliano: Jobless lots...Who's jobless? The FG or Oby Ezekwesili? |
Let's keep our fingers cross hoping this won't get any worse than it is now! |
adexsimply: trying to understand uYou lack depth that's why your trying to understand me! |
adexsimply: how would u feel if he were to be ur dad?I would feel very proud to have a father who didn't keep mute in a country where everything is going wrong! Look beyond appearance. |
adexsimply: hmmnWhen you have immature people in politics, the current situation of things in this country is what you get! |
adexsimply: what has politics got to do with immaturity?Everything!!! |
Why are you guys showering insults on a man who's just trying to express himself? Atleast he didn't squander and loot millions like so many of our politicians do! His actions have not so far hurt anyone or make them live in penury, so instead of castigating and scolding him, you'll should leave him alone and focus your attention on our kleptocratic and irresponsible government.
