lovingJehovah:You are still getting it wrong sir, there is a name for three of them together, one name, the same name of the Father is the same name of the Son and the Holy Spirit. So I ask again what name was Jesus speaking of? |
lovingJehovah:Jesus is not higher than YHWH, because He is equal with YHWH. He is the YHWH, He is God (1Tim 3:16). |
lovingJehovah:I never said you should pray to the Holy Spirit. ".....baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Jesus didn't say "in the name of the Father, in the name of the Son and in the name of the Holy Spirit" neither did He say "in the names" He said "in the name". Meaning there is a name for the three of them; one name. What is that name? The Christian Bible is the Old and New Testaments. |
lovingJehovah:His name is YHWH. But the name Jesus is higher than the name YHWH. The name Jesus brings glory to YHWH. The name YHWH cannot save you from sin only the name Jesus can (Acts 4:12). |
achorladey:To the glory of God the Father. Oga, I never said you should not sanctify your Jehovah's Name. The name Jehovah what are you using it for? Let me ask you a question: what is the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost? The Name of Jesus is higher than any name, if you pray in Jesus name, your prayer has only one destination, whether you mention the name "Jehovah" or not the name of Jesus is enough to answer your prayers (John 15:16). In your editing quest, you guys have run into diverse errors. Your beliefs are more of Judaism & Islam than Christianity. |
so the name "Jehovah" is what made you guys have your own bible when there is already a name that is higher than every other name, a name that makes heaven to bow, the name of the father, son and holy spirit: the name of JESUS, you're there looking for the other one. |
nice write up sir but can you please give examples of what you mean by good works? |
Jochabed:was there trousers in those days? men and women wore skirts (Psa 133:2). So if they both wore skirts, there must have been a way to differentiate one gender's skirt from another. The same thing now ma, men and women's trousers are different in a way. I love ladies on skirts, doesn't mean christians ladies on trousers are sinning. The key is moderation, there are some almost devilish trousers and some hellish skirts. Let our moderation be known to all men. |
harbjar I have given you what you asked for, do you have anymore doubts or questions? |
I saw this coming, when a governor is throwing his gates open to a group of angry violent people, it was only going to be a matter of time. May God grant the families of the dead the fortitude to bear the loss, and grant the governor the sense to rule the state. |
harbjar:Yeah; Luke 24:46-47. Sorry. |
The strongest instinct in man is the instinct of survival. Normally a man will give anything and everything to ensure the safety of his life. So when a person commits suicide, it is not normal, most times such a person is sick. Mental sickness is real, depression is real and sometimes it can lead to suicide. Even Elijah was depressed and asked God to kill him (1Kings 19:4). Secondly, there are also some silly sort of suicide like boyfriend/girlfriend stuff some, cowardly suicide. Now in the first instance of sickness, I (no biblical backup) believe that a christian will be accepted to heaven just as one who died of a physical ailment. In the second instance, probably hell straight. But suicide is NEVER the answer, people should learn to take their cares to God. And also God heals depression too, He healed Elijah. |
Gospel music has undergone an amazing evolution from blessing lives alone to both blessing lives and earning a reasonable living for the artistes. Through the years I have been blessed by a lot of gospel artistes and my top 5 in no particular order will be: (1) Ron Kenoly (2) Donnie McClurkin (3) Michael Smith (4) Kirk Franklin; and (5) William McDowell. If I were to pick a favourite song for each of them it would be: Majesty - Ron Kenoly; Great Is Your Mercy - Donnie McClurkin; Grace - Michael Smith; Give Me That - Kirk Franklin Ft. Mali Music; and I Won't Go Back - William McDowell. So there you go guys, those are mine. So who would make your own top 5 gospel artiste list? |
harbjar Luke 23:46-47 "Then He said to them "Thus it is written and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remissions of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem."" Matthew 26:28 "For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins." THESE ARE ALL JESUS WORDS SIR, NO PAUL HERE, STRICTLY JESUS. |
This Jesus is God or not is getting borderline funny, you will hear "Jesus is God but He is not the Almighty God". How many "Gods" are there? 1Tim 3:16. There is one God. He is Jehovah, Jesus, Yahweh and all. |
achorladey:haha, let me see where we will get to with harbjar first. By the way wonderful answer. |
harbjar:God did not need a Son, He needed a perfect sacrifice because without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. So He came down as a man (Jesus, also the Son) who was without sin who died, was buried, presented His blood in heaven and resurrected. Thereby reconciling God and man. God did not need a son but He needed a sacrifice in order to have many children. |
PrecisionFx:OK |
PrecisionFx:I am saying neither, I am saying Jesus is no different from God. To understand what you quoted, you'll have to read my other replies with the same guy. |
harbjar:You're almost there, but not like Eve from Adam. More like a branch from a tree. The tree has the branch and the branch is the tree |
it is not true, if you have a bible, read Genesis 8:3, Acts 10:9-15, eat what you want jawe. |
I will say coming to earth and dying on the cross. Showing mercy is not hard for God, He is rich in mercy but watching the sins of the whole world placed on His Son, that was hard that, He had to even look away. |
The Trinity tries to explain the different dimensions of God displayed. The dispensation of The Father (Old Testaments), dispensation of the Son (The Gospel) & the dispensation of the (The Holy Spirit). Jesus is God (1Tim 3:16). No difference. |
The reason is simple: If you know the bible, you'll remember Cain killed too, but why didn't God kill him? sin was not prevalent then so mercy was also prevalent. God detests sin and when sin became prevalent, man saw another dimension of God (Genesis 6:3-7)"...the God that killeth..." This was the turning point, understand that God is omnipotent, He can do all things good or bad. So, the wickedness of man brought about the judgement of God. God too did not like showing that side of Himself so He chose the Isrealites and showed them how to pacify His wrath; by sacrifice. But the sacrifice pacified Him only for a year, He needed a sacrifice that will pacify Him forever, so He came down as Jesus, died, was buried and resurrected as the one, true pure immortal sacrifice for sin. So now despite all the wickedness God will rather have mercy for the sake of the sacrifice of Jesus. God killed then because of wickedness and because there was no perfect sacrifice to appease Him. GOD'S NATURE IS MERCY. GLAD U ASKED. |
Jochabed:please ma, explain. |
BafanaBafana:this is just too funny. |
bunmishontelle:Luke 22:35-38,49-50 |
harbjar:The NIV you mentioned is perfect for what I am trying to explain to you. It uses "...one and only Son who came from the Father..." (John 1:14 NIV). Which is what I told you begotten here means "to proceed from" "to come from". He is the only Son to come from the Father. You would have understood this if you weren't trying to be so sarcastic. |
Junia what you call preaching was referencing. Jesus kept the law so we won't have to. The scripture in Mk 10, Jesus actually changed what the law said on divorce after referencing the law. All the epistles reference the law and explain the significance or otherwise, Jesus was not a preacher of the law, a doer, yes, but not a preacher. |
harbjar:Obviously, you're a muslim, that'r why you're starting with the blasphemy scream. Begotten in this case means "to proceed out of". Jesus is a man that proceeded out of the father, thereby becoming the only begotten Son of God. You could become a son of God too, if you just recieve Him (Jesus) into your life. |
Junia:so in essence Jesus preached two messages; The Law & Grace. Sir, if that's what you're saying I beg to differ "for the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ." (John 1:17). Whatever He said is the truth, even if it was in the law, it became the truth immediately He uttered it. Jesus fulfilled the law, and then left us with grace, He did not preach the law He preached truth. |
.. It only gets worse the more you try to prove that word "begotten "
