Before this my tenant paid for the house, there was a complete door net in good condition. Therefore she has lived here for more than 5 years, during the course of those years, she renew the door net which later worn out. Now this year, she decided to park and rent a bigger room elsewhere. I told her for removing the door net am going to deduct N5000 from the 8 month rent i need to refund to her. The door net is part of what she rents from you and obviously after some years it will naturally wear out.

Unless your tenancy agreement specifically talks about her replacing the net or any other fittings and fixtures ,she ought to have call on you to either replace the worn net or get your approval to replace same and have same reimbursed by you.

naturally after some years ,some fittings and fixture will wear out and it is the landlord duty to make provisions for fair wear and tear.

She did not damage the net,it wore out by itself and you have the responsibility to replace same just like u have the responsibility to replace the leaking roof.

The new net belongs to her and not you and in any event since you did not put the burden of replacing worn out fixtures and fittings on her in the the tenancy agreement,the burden remain yours.

I got married to my wife. I love her both with the kids but the biological father of the kids is a bit wealthy and left the whole responsibilities to my wife since last year.
