HopeAtHand: So you mean saying Amaechi did all you listed in his first term??..get your facts right.
Again remember how Rivers allocation was deliberately reduced by ceding oil wells to neighbouring states and also the presidential witchhunt by GEJ and his loyalists including the police in person of Mbu making the state practically ungovernable for Amaechi.
BTW, are you from Rivers? I must come from Rivers to have common sense yea right!! the Soku wells that was a bone of contention between Rivers and bayelsa were mostly gas wells and few oil wells, can you tell us with figures how much was lost to that furore at the time? What was Rivers state making from each of the wells abinitio compared to when it was reallocated. If you don't have the figures just Shut up and read the comments!! Amaechi is not clean and a huge moral burden on Buhari, Amaechi is a true test of Buhari's anti corruption paraphernalia.

The US chose to take the freed slaves to West Africa just like Britain who took freed slaves to West Africa (Freetown, Sierra Leone). byrron: His questions are valid and the reasons giving so far have not addressed the questions rather it paved the way for further questions.
The FGN has failed in its responsibilities, it is either a deliberate act to limit the economic growth of that region or a systemic failure on the part of the FGN to do the needful.
Despite the high level of pirate activities going on at the sea, ships are still sailing so why will such a flimsy excuse be giving as the reason why the port is grossly under utilized?
What is the rational in going to clear goods in a seaport in Lagos when the final destination of that goods is located in a state that is closer to the PH seaport? It is economically senseless because the cost of transporting such goods from the Lagos seaport is much higher when compared to the cost of moving same goods from PH seaport.
Look at the rate of dilapidation on the high ways in Nigeria which is also as a result of the impact/pressure from the steady movement of goods as well frequent road hazards from the trucks conveying these products.
The economic disadvantages of under utilizing the PH seaport outweighs the reasons giving so far.
IT MAKES NO SENSE. This nonsense you wrote can only make sense to an ignorant person like you, the time I spend here has opened my eyes to the reality that very few Nigerians understand how this country works. The very few who denied themselves knowledge are still not ashamed to throw around buffoonery with pride, of what use is your Geography if it did not outline the limitations of PH port?
A m0r0n like Nnamdi Kanu is yet to tell his minions that Biafra is land locked, perhaps they are still hoping to dredge the River Niger beyond shallow waters, shouldn't it be more worrisome that a lunatic like that man is taken seriously because the country is packed with empty hollow heads roaming the four cardinal points of destitution in this country.
Why do you think that oil companies allow only offshore going vessels to berth at onne, while all the oil they extract from the Niger delta are routed to be sold through Bonny? Has any of these ethnic lunatics ever seen a serious oil Tanker in any jetty in and around Abuloma or reclamation? why are they everywhere in Eket and Bonny but not PH?
If oil companies avoid it and importers avoid it as well, the least shred of common sense should tell you that something beyond ethnicity or Government inefficiency is amiss, some of you don't deserve a brain. BTW those who understand the limitations and have real need do clear from there, the school drop outs can continue whining all over the internet.

If Amaechi stole anything, it is left for the EFCC to investigate and prosecute him accordingly..Ameachi being branded a thief by Wike is a joke best served on April 1.
Ameachi is clean enough( Nigerian standard), and Buhari has duly confirmed that with a ministerial nomination. I care less how low your moral standards are neither do I care if you are sniffing Buhari's boxers three times daily, Amaechi is a suspected thief because some some things don't add up.
How can a Governor who built 109 health centers, dualized over 6 major roads in the heart of PH that attracted enormous compensation, built African class hospitals, renovated over 200 primary and secondary schools in all the nooks and crannies of rivers states, equipped them with a computers & a functional library with internet facility, and the huge woji - Akpajo bridge in 4yrs. Boss13: People who have no knowledge about things, wake up, don't brush their teeth and start writing. Children do not really know what they want even Adults. It is a difficult thing. Only matured minds can actually sit down and determine what they truly want. It is important for Parents to guide their children on the path they should choose. Now what I would critique is the approach parents indulge. Some use force, mere folklores or insultive words. On the other hand, Children in their ignorant nature can choose some ridiculous fields probably being influenced by the media or friends.
I read something from Ngozi Okonjo Iweala. She said her dad always gives her economic books to read and made it exciting for her. Thus, her interest in economics grew. I also had a female friend, whose dad, in his effort to encourage his kids to enjoy maths, made it exciting by using word plays and games whilst promising them cash gifts if they could solve puzzles. All her sisters including herself are Engineers.
Parents can guide their children and assist them with making a good decision with career choices. It is not just by telling them, it is important to show and guide them. Draw their attention to role models, important people and I don't mean wizkid et al. Exactly my point, you can not expose a child to be seeing Davido's USA tour every weekend and expect him or her to make great choices for herself. I have friends whose parents had Libraries, my dad did at some point too, there you can read about Physiology, anatomy at a very tender age, loads of mind boggling questions will make you to discover how the real world works, people like Albert Einstein and Isaac newton were the real role models. I remember a childhood friend whose father crested E=mc2 on his bed, for years he had no idea what it means, you need to see his excitement in class the day he was taught that the inscription on his bed was the formula that inspired the Manhattan project that eventually won the second world war, those things inspire kids, those activities shape the mindset of kids, this generation of barney and whizkid is a disaster waiting to happen.

Laitesmart: Whether educated or not... This post or thread is directed to all parents and even the intending parents can learn one or two things from this while those who were victims may also share theire experiences. . I was in SS1 to introduce the newly promoted students to Physics as a subject... I felt there is the need for me to ask them why they chose the science department even when some of them know how demanding the department could be... I was taken aback with some of the response i got from some of the students. A female told me categorically that her passion is to become a writer in the nearest future as she love reading poems and Novel but her mother was against it. I asked her what was on her mother's mind when she said no and she told me that her mum told her emphatically that there is no Nurse in the family and as such she has to be a nurse to fulfil her mum's wish... I was left dumbfounded as the girl has no other option but to obey her 'dear mum'. As if it wasnt enough, another told me he loves designing but his dad want him to be a Pilot and he doesnt have any option.
The matter above is somehow sensitive as even the so called educated fellows make the mistake of 'departmentalising' their kids if that Word exist in the english context.
The scenario reminded me of the movie 3 idiots that i watched back then and i had to prescribe it to the students to go watch with their parents...
Imagine what disastrous effect it would have had on their careers if MOHAMMAD ALI's father had forced him to be a musician and MICHEAL JACKSON's father had forced him to be a boxer...
I Shared my impression with a friend and he stated point blankly that this is one of the many reasons why our educational sector keeps falling beyond expectation... It isnt about what they want, rather, it is about what we the parents want.
Parents have totally forgotten that they are suppose to CHOOSE WITH their Children and Not CHOOSE FOR them when it comes to their careers...
We might be vastly experienced but we still need to respect the passion of our children...
Let the children know that they need to follow excellence and success will chase them pants down as stated by Ranchoddas Chalmadas Chanchad...
I have spoken... You see why it is wrong for Graduates who have no background in education to be sent to the classrooms, the mental development of a child is a function of her psychological well being, peer influence and immediate microcosm. At the developmental stage of a child, psychologically his or her brain is like a sponge that allows anything to filter through.
The child who loves mathematics is a function of their exposure at that level, the child has no idea what it takes to become anything as such his or her preference is inconsequential.
During our days, we grew up to be watching different debating societies on screen every saturday, we are thrilled to listen to Kalu otisi on NTA doing his thing, because we watch the network news, we hardly fail current affairs. Science debate, jet club etc was the order of our era.
fast forward to date, our screens are saturated with irrelevant programs, if it is not starlite contest, it is project fame, family dance etc, those lousy programmes have a lot of influence on our kids, it is s!lly to think that a kid exposed to Tuface USA tour, or Premier league will wish to be an Engineer, that will never happen.
I could remember in the late 70's a programme called "Guilty or not Guilty" shown on Tv, after watching the programme, we had the flair to argue like lawyers in our bedrooms, I am certain it is not unconnected to the love I have for Boston Legal till date.
In summary, Children's choices are borne from the exposures they get, when a child says I want to be a writer, she has no passion for writing neither does she know what it takes to write, however, her inspiration is coming from the exposure he or she is getting somewhere, may be how nice her teacher in school is and some other factors that expose her.
Nigeria has degenerated to where nobody wants to create a job but want to work, that mentality will take a toll on the next generation, what the parents are trying to do is to give their kids a safe landing where they can, why should your child be applying to drive Dangote's truck as a graduate when he could have been indoctrinated into "Ogbuenyi and sons" (the family business), what are Dangote's kids doing? Mike Adenuga nko?
This Generation is not motivated, they barely have good teachers, their media is a mess, the parents are dumb, how do you expect the child to make the right choices? how can a parent sit with kids watching big brother Africa at 3-5yrs of age? what message do you want them to get?
Start taking your kids to your various offices and repeat that question in a year's time, you will be amazed what you will hear.

http://nairanotes.com/lead_story/lead-story-4/
The Nairanotes free market petrol price The Nairanotes free market petrol price shows what the free market price price of petrol in Nigeria should b e, if the government did not distort the market with current regulated price-setting regime.
Petrol or Gasoline prices in the United States (an example of a free and efficient market) are a good starting point. The petrol prices are made up of four components:
Crude Oil Refining (Costs and Profit) Distribution and Marketing (Cost and Profit) Taxes Currently (September, 2015), the open market petrol prices in the US range from about $1.90 to $2.50 per gallon, but removing taxes (which account for most of the variation), we have a tax-free price of about $1.50 per gallon. This translates to $0.396 or N78 per litre.
N78 is what we expect the open price of petrol to be based on current market conditions in an efficient and corrupt free setting, even when accounting for expected operating profits. As such the Nigerian citizen and consumer pays N7 per litre more than what the fair market, tax-free price of petrol should be. The daily national petrol consumption is estimated at between 30 and 42 million litres per day. Using the lowest estimate, it means Nigerians pays at least N210 million more than necessary per day due to the existing regulated and corrupt subsidy regime. Adding the N890 million that the government reports that it spends on subsidies daily (based on PPPRA’s pricing template result of N103 against the fair market price of N78), it means N1.1 billion naira is lost daily to corruption and inefficiency from petrol pricing, even with extremely low global crude prices.
Ignorance and lack of economic knowledge cannot be an excuse anymore. Failure to immediately end the subsidy regime amounts to complicity in the corruption in the sector. That will be a shame for a government that loudly touts its anti-corruption stance. You think that United states free market equals Nigeria's? the Purchasing power of $ equals Naira? Have you pause to ask where the products sold in America are sourced from and where Nigeria source hers? Believe this and you are no different from the woman selling Kunu on my street. Even if you were created without a brain, you should have learnt to reason properly by association.
