lawmani: Guy let's try and be truthful at times. The shoprite road has two visible sign post clearly positioned at the end of the road that hits awolowo way. One is written "Do not Enter" while the other has a symbol of a crossed road entrance on it indicating no entry!i was waiting for this, lagosians just pick up vehicles and drive without acquainting themselves with road signs. most people say the signs are not there simply because they don't understand the ones they saw. SMH |
rockafela: Ahhh na wonder my network is so fast dis evening...people have switched off their fones..I think dere should be cosmic rays everyday...lolu dey mind them? which cosmic rays worse pass PDP's Endemic corruption? Nigerians don't really know when to be scared. the most shocking moment of my life was when it was announced that PDP won by 22.5m votes, that was when i turned off my Tv and phones. |
lefulefu: na money i go first consider first oooo.if u no get money tell me wich babe go gree marry ua very ugly girl |
Godogwu: @OP This is a clearly a well written piece as it sheds light on the various places Nigerians feel downcast to be part of the country, nevertheless I would say this is a trying time for the country and frankly I detest it when people compare Nigeria to America. The fact is America is about four times older, more industralized and more developed than Nigeria. Nigeria is barely 52 years of age and we are bound to have problems, we cannot asin cannot be the perfect Nation as at now, No way!( just so people know... there's no perfect nation) ...please feel free to correct me if there's another country 52 years of age that is on the same level with the United Sates. Comparing both countries is like comparing a 40 year old man to a 12 year old boy and asking why the boy isn't as wise, as agile or as diligent as the man. I can and will never ridicule my Country ( I can comment on its problems but I can't write the country off) . Yes, Nigeria has problems; the educational sector isnt swell hence private schools, no sort of healthcare, electricity and security is not left out....but hey, Rome wasn't built in a day......you don't expect Nigeria to be as industralized as the US only after 52 years? Do you?, like is it magic? Each problem Nigeria faces as of today will be systematically dealt with in due time and that is for sure. I always say it....."Nigerian and PROUD!" and to me Nigeria is already blessed. Now quickly compare Nigeria with countries less than 52yrs with same ecological and mineral endowments, ur findings may shock you. |
werepeLeri: Its so appalling when you disagree with an issue on a public forum and dogs start to call you names because you dont share in their ill opinion. Rogues.you call that thing u posted an opinion? What then is madness? |
What do you do when there's really nothing to boast about and the failings of the government frustrates the hell out of the people? Still love naija to da bone sha.
sorry dude, but if you love Naija, then u re a masochist and there is absolutely nothing you hate |
Mekusnwa: Nice one. At times, we take most of these things for granted while harbouring the illusion that Nigeria has not done anything for us. All through my stay in the university, my school fees did not exceed 12,000 Naira each session. A friend of mine is going to pay over 4 m as school fees for masters in Scotland.considering the wealth and ecological priviledges of this country, 12k education is not what you deserve, countries producing less oil than Nigeria offer that your friend's 4m education for free to the citizens. Believe me, with that 12k education, will u say u re educated? Where toto can get an 'A', is that what you call education? For ur mind, govt is trying for handing you 12k education while minister for education buys a private jet with choice houses in europe SMH. |
Elueme: May I ask the OP of any country devoid of its own peculiar problems? Agreed Nigeria should be better than it is now but no thanks to the military, however, ironically Nigeria has its own advantages over some with better social system... In Nigeria You are not treated like a second class citizen, you can cut corners by refusing to pay your NEPA bills or under pay but expect a 24/7 power, in Nigeria many citizens evade taxes but want our social systems to be perfect, in Nigeria, You are virtually educated for free or with little token but you want our institutions to be like Harvard or Yales. I can go on and on. In as much as I don't brief for govt for having fail on her part but we must also look internally for some of te solutions to the menace plaguing our dear nation by changing our ways to suite a relatively perfect society and then we can hold govt responsible for failing us.all the above are possible because the leaders have failed to create a structure to curb it, why? Because they benefit from such malfeasance. Lemme use ur Nepa Analogy for instance, there are loads of streets that ration light due to unavailability of transformers or over loaded ones, remember that ministry of power has annual budget yet they squander the money, force citizens to purchase their own transformers. A citizen hangs illegal cable and gets arrested, a politician collects transformer meant for a whole street and Nepa fixes it for his personal use, who is fooling who? if the politicians were not culpable, the citizens will fall in line. i agree Nigerians evade tax but they have a justifiable reason for that, the politicians squander it with nothing to show for it, who is the fool? Do you think UK citizens will be paying tax if their govt is not responsible? Think again. Do you think you have more corrupt tendencies than Americans? How many yahoo boys have picked half of what madoff picked in America? The difference is that the structure created by American leadership handed him a life sentence while Tinubu and ibori were given titles. |
rakumiii: NIGERIA IS A BIG FAT JOKE..........and everybody in the world knows thisu dey mind these sons of political philistines in Abuja, that think that their father's stolen wealth is a favor the country has done for them |
Dollarman101: Shut up! Nigeria has not done anything for you but I'm sure you were born in our general hospitals, where almost everything is subsidised including ante natal. Inspite of all the criticism, teaching hospitals and federal medical centres remain the number one destination for health care delivery for a vast majority of Nigerians.Nigeria has finished your psyche, to attempt to absolve the gutter called Nigeria, makes you sound As!n!ne. You think what the Government offers you as tertiary institutions is what you deserve? You are comparing the cost with what is obtainable elsewhere lol, you need help, what about the quality of education? Quality of tutors nko? Academic institutions filled with morally bankrupt lecturers who give marks per round of co!tus? is that what you are passing on as 'subsidized' like the govt is doing us a favor? *spits and shakes head* can you phantom the earnings and potentials of this Nation? you talked about general hospitals, ur myopic reasoning didn't disappoint as expected, why was there a proliferation of substandard private hospitals if the General hospitals was something to write home about? Do i need to remind you that 60% of our General hospitals perform surgeries with rechargeable lanterns and i ''better pass my neighbor''generators. That is if the doctors are not on strike, general hospitals without dialysis machine of less than 5m, yet you are happy they are subsidizing malaria and polio drugs, which are donations from well meaning Americans. So that is what you deserve in a mineral rich and most populous black nation in the world? You called the failure of our health institutions ''subsidized''. I feel sorry for you. I saw where you mentioned NTA, your case is pathetic, as back as in the 80's and early 90's poorer middle eastern countries pay for western Tv channels leave it open for their citizens on Nile sat, with a C-band decoder, u watch European channels free courtesy of other poorer countries. ghana's ministry of information is doing same on Astra satellite free for west African countries, better foreign and educative channels free for its citizens and beyond, does bbc, cine afrik, joy tv etc ring a bell? and you think the Giant of Africa did you a favor with crappy NTA? I cant believe that someone alive will eulogize a Nigerian road or airport, are you sure you have traveled beyond lagos? Have you forgotten the number of citizens that died in those airports within the last decade? The blood of over 1,000 citizens, gave rise to those pseudo face lifts, the question a man with conscience should ask is; if people didn't die, then Nigerians perhaps don't even deserve a functioning airport? I laughed when you said Nigerian Govt was subsidizing electricity, are you not ashamed that Nigeria is one of the few countries in the world that has spent the electricity budget of Africa without light in the bulb, yet a prodigal son like you applaud that? and expect us to be grateful? if every govt failure is a "subsidy" in your books, what exactly do you deserve as a citizen? A country where every citizen is a local Govt of its own? Provide housing, electricity, road, water, security for himself? You sound like those politicians that offer Nigerians bags of rice in exchange for their votes. You think so low of Nigerians. You have reduced yourself to the lowest of the lows, rightly put, at the ebb of absolute existence of humanity. I wont be surprised if you live like a goat dancing n@k@d in festivities thinking that is the best you deserve. You are a scumbag that has totally lost his self worth, suicide will help you a lot . |
proflangdon: Instead of ridiculing the country more, Nigerians should think of how to make it better... not to always blame the Government!!!do you even know the role of Govt in a society? |
werepeLeri: I have seen a sick, bedridden American whose last words on earth were that he was proud to be American. I do not know any up-and-doing (perhaps the opposite of bedridden?) Nigerian who maintains that he is proud to be Nigerian!your naievity is growing to stup!dity, watch it |
combatmedic: She is a rare gem.sympathy marriage, the guy is an international preacher so most likely he will be rich, ![]() what if the girl's brain is disabled? i don't see any imbalance here |
People won't believe you. They don't seem to understand. They live in nicer parts of Lagos and ignore the slums. They've never visited the North or even the rural villages. They have no idea what life is really like.
they forgot that citizenship comes with rights and privileges, 90% of Nigerians have no such rights or privileges under black leadership. why will someone feel furious when the truth becomes obvious. |
i think you just woke up and really in a hurry to sound interesting, what you are brandishing are has no mirror reflection of what average blacks pass through in the hands of their fellow blacks. without establishing that connection and making comparisons based on facts, your enlightenment has a lot or rough edges 26 likes for such a statement "handing it over to the black man" How sad that people are so short-sighted.i didn't see your long sight either Assuming that the picture is accurate, what makes you think that nigg3rs were allowed to ride on that train? Yes, I'm using the derogatory term to get my point across - too many people forget their history (or don't know it at all).you cant prove the contrary either What does it gain you if all of your country is "developed" but you're treated as a second class citizen within it? And if you think otherwise, you really must be living on a different Earth). How many countries have thrived under colonization?your argument here is misleading because 90% of Nigerians that i know live as second class citizens even under their fellow blacks. let me enlighten you on citizen ship and a few of his rights. a citizen is bestowed the right of citizen ship as enshrined in the constitution, can same be said of average Nigerians? every American in Nigeria has position records with the US embassy and in time of crisis rescue comes promptly and adequately, is it applicable to Nigerian citizens under black leadership? the security of lives and properties in Nigeria is the responsibility of the police, defense against internal and external threat is that of the Military, does the average Nigerian citizen feel these obligations as enshrined in the constitution? how does the judgement from the judiciary affect the lives of the average Nigerians? the right to life is not only a constitutional right but a fundamental one, how has Nigerian citizens fared under the reign of the black man under this? talk about economic security, talk about education, health care et al, how has the Citizens fared? Most people like to point to South Africa. News flash - South Africa got its independence from Britain as far back as the 1930's so try again. And it might be the wealthiest subsaharan African country, but have you stopped to think were that wealth might be concentrated? Such short-sightedness; such blind acquiescence, swallowing everything you've been told about yourselves by some invader, and then wondering why the continent isn't developing fast enough? Look in the mirror.another way of trying to sound relevant, if the whites left SA in 1930 believe me, we may not be able to recognize SA on the Map just the same way Congo sounds like a musical instrument. the occupation of the whites till 1994 laid the foundation for their economic success and likewise put them on the map. talking about concentration of wealth, who created the wealth in the first place? where should it concentrate? (a)the black bystanders? (2) the whites that created it? you just shot urself on the foot because if you agree that wealth is concentrated with the whites, how come you couldn't figure out that the longer the whites stayed guaranteed their economic salvation? at least if you knew this, you wont remind us that they got independence long ago Yeah - a lot of things turned to shiat after independence; it tends to do so in most countries. Didn't the "great" USA have a civil war after its independence? You learn from your mistakes and bind together to create a better country using as much of the "freedom" you worked for. You don't keep whining about your former invaders. Stockholm Syndrome, anyone?that "shiat" you mentioned above when juxtaposed with the British rule benefited Nigerians more than PDP's cabalocracy, little wonder they are reminiscing in nostalgia. |
Chongaiman: Which British?guy, Nigeria would be better off without independence, can you compare Hong-kong and South Africa with Nigeria? yea!! that is because they enjoyed English hegemony longer than others but in the end, the English left behind unrivaled infrastructures. Giving Nigeria independence was a great mistake, Nnamdi Azikiwe and Tafawa belewa did a great disservice to us. racial discrimination is better than endemic corruption. come to think of it, do you know any indigenous company that has a better welfare than it's english or western counterpart in the same line of business? black man's slavery is worse than hell fire. Nigerians are already in hell, little wonder boko haram has nothing to lose |
blink182: Handing it over to the black man is what went wrong.black man with a black mind ![]() |
Ol boy!In every situation, you weigh your options ![]() if the option is skewed away from you, playing Jackie Chan is foolhardy ![]() Especially when you have a woman and kids in the car, at that level, thinking of yourself alone is unthinkable ![]() Of course, things can turn either way, and don't forget this is Lagos o ![]() A jungle where every man is for himself
perhaps if you have an idea the kinda terrain i make my money, you may think twice collecting it without a gun.listen, there are some things that are not meant for some people. you cannot rob me without a gun, its simple, whether there is a goat or ram in the car practically impossible, people that have tried have stories to tell, come with your Gun or get nothing. that's my motto!! |
fuke: You may be right.Read my lips, all the straight guys in NNPC at the managerial level are either dead, retired or dismissed. you have no idea what is going on there |
KokoBeware: You dont shutdown a service that is widely used indefinately (and twist peoples arms to open current accounts)..... Basic IT principles should have been followed to ensure minimum downtime, also there should be at least an estimated time where the service will come back up... GTB just proved unrealiable with this move...like the bank owns the technology? how are they supposed to determine all that? does the word "outsourcing" ring a bell? |
binger: And i will add, only in Nigeria will some1 write a post on a forum, and every sentence in it is filled with grammatical errors, wrong spellings and bad punctuation!only in Nigeria 22.5m people voted a d!c.k head without track record as commander in chief, yet expect him to tackle terrorism only in Nigeria people imprison themselves in their own house erecting fences and buglary proofs. |
sunky644: I think what they are really after is for customers to buy the token. I tried making an important transaction lastweek but all to no avail as the excuse was this security issue. I was forced to buy the token since it's the only solution to that present problem. So, if you want to ve a smooth internet banking with GTBank, then I advice you get the token. But, if you don't want to buy the token, it's either you close your account with them or forget internet banking as far as the bank is concerned.i think its all abt the token, of course there are a lot of worms on the internet and the token is a security device, had the problem too but immediately i bought the token voila!! Everytin was ok, mind u GTB token cost 1.5k while almighty first bank charged 2k yet first bank couldnt sync my token with my acct. Believe me sanusi is a waste championing cashless amidst poor infrastructure is very thoughtless of him, but comming from this administration, i am not suprised |
ikhile666: ;DKeystone bank is the bomb now.did a transfer their no charges from an internal account to another and also did a transfer from their atm to aanother bank hassle free.I ve already closed my gt accountlol @ keystone bank, even sanusi coulld not think of a better name? gTb to keystone? Lol Nigeria to iraq imho |
jorge1980: It seems the pretense is over with GTbank. I had issues using the internet banking platform for a couple of days trying to transfer funds from on gt acct to another. I did this without success and decided to call the customer service center.yea!! close the damn acct because u were so daft to read where they apologised that the upgrade will take a little longer. Account holders will complain, balance of 20k will complain, believe me, GTB wont miss you and i will see a reduction at atm queue by 1 so pls leave quickly. |
Beaf: Your argument is that of an enemy of Nigeria.arrant Nonsense!! When it comes to removing subsidy to fighting corruption he forgets patriotic Nigerians. When it comes to eating 1m naira bole, he forgets patriotic Nigerians when it comes to infarastructural development, health care etc he forgets patriotic Nigerians but immediately boko haram strikes, he remembers patriotic Nigerians. Mr beaf and Mr joboy, how many patriotic Nigerians did you consult before dashing our maritine agency to a millitant? See their heads like scrotal sacks |
mejai: Hey, uncle u can lie o!no mind the poropo, the GMD position he didnt get by merit, now he wants us to believe he works by merit. We know the man that is qualified to be GMD except that you lobbied the presidency wearing ur northern cap. Why is the GMD position always for the North? And why has MEND been quiet since? |
fuke: No I disagree with most posters.if they said a VC or someone in the educational sector i may believe by 20%. But NNPC? The seat of corruption in Nigeria? Guy the straight ones in NNPC dont make it to the GMD position, they have either been framed and dismissed or murdered. It takes a very dirty and 'okombo' tight person to make the GMD position in NNPC. Dont be fooled. Believe me, that girl is at home collecting NNPC salary, not until the next NNPC ghost worker scandal. Going by the law, is she supposed to apply in the first place? |
Acidosis: NIGERIANS! !guy don't be fooled, NNPC has 60% stake in other IOC's doing way better than NNPC, why should she settle for an NNPC JOB that pays 180k a month when her father's recommendation can get her a TOTAL job that pays 12m annually? Next tori joor |
Ol boy, u no know women! She wants me to pull a seal team 6 stunt ![]() What if the loon had bashed my head in? ![]() mtshew!
guy u dull no be small, ur wife was right, how can your fellow man rob you on a good day at 'slap point' or 'pen knife point'? What then is the diff btwn u and a woman? Those robberies are meant for women not men, try that in enugu and a banker in suit will give you the beating of a lifetime. What you forgot is that the power window motor can deliver a torque strong enough to cut off blood supply in an artery. One bingo threatened me with a pen knife to my face in traffic, i pretended as if i was reaching for my wallet and immediately engaged the power windows, guy, though i received a cut but my window held him till apologies started flying out. He dropped the knife in the vehicle, when he attempted breaking the glass, i zoomed off, his arm still stuck in the glass, when i got space, i released him with heavy blood stain on the head with his own knife. How can u be robbed without a gun? That's shameful to say the least, take a blow or a cut from that weapon and launch ur offensive, dats it. |
texazzpete: Lol.lol, a girl dat stole blackberry was stripped and disgraced, here a deluded Nigerian think its ok for a minister to divert 8plots of land. If we go by average abuja real estate value, that is btwn 20 to 30million per plot mutiplied by 8 gives 160m to 240m. Did i forget that d opinion attracted 4 likes, *shakes head and sings edughana* |
The fact still remains that the people and land which has always been under the care of the Nigerian nation was so easily given over to Cameroon, without denying that the relevant treaties and agreements declare to be inside Cameroon border. No one can deny French influence but OBJ is known to be more resilient than what he demonstrated during the IJC saga. My conclusion would be that the France/Cameroon coalition hoodwinked, blackmailed struck a under table agreement with OBJ . Reminds me of falkland islands, self determination is most important
bunch of craps, was Cameroon willing to give up bakassi? was Cameroon not the one that went to ICC first? what deal? was it a Cameroonian court that decided the case? what could OBJ have done? flaunt ICJ orders, mount a Naval base perhaps occupy by force and attract international condemnations and possibly invasion? does the gulf war come to mind? borrow a head if you don't have one. giving up bakassi to Cameroon was the best shot OBJ has, those f.u.ck.s should go get Cameroonian passports which i believe is of more value than dead Nigerian passport. |
