patrickcollins: Can't the hotel they passed the night be tracked, since one of them posted his wife's birthday on the morning of the day, where are our intelligent officers
Cooleasy: Yes bros. I now get your point. The ones I was buying before were the smaller types and those ones got spoiled easily. It was so frustrating.
Imagine I was told one tuber of yam costs 6k today. Same thing I bought at #2,500 less than two months ago. I am porting to sweet potato straight, until further notice.
Right about potato. I wish it was well poundable - I'd've stopped buying yams long ago.
victorDanladi: Dangote wil not happy with what is happening in downstream sector.
His expectation while building the refinery was that he would be made the sole supplier of fuel to the country.
He was able to be licensed to build the refinery because the upstream sector was deregulation and decentralized but he doesn't want the same for the downstream sector so as to enjoy monopoly and exploit Nigerians
That was the reason he was spreading this adulterated fuel importation propaganda when he just commissioned his refinery.
We Nigerians are for LOW PRICE...Not for IPMAN and not NNPC and not for DANGOTE...No Nigerian will fight dangote fight for him
Let him continue dropping the price. But government should keep an eye on things and must step in when necessary to prevent a monopoly. If the NNPC refineries are not working (as they don't seem to be), I doubt government can really do much though. Let's hope BUA and other refineries come on stream soon.
davies: All to satisfy Akpabio and the Paymaster General.. This is a man that was handpicked to be a governor by fmr Guvnor Udom Emmanuel. This present crop of leaders are the worst of all.. I'm certain of one thing, Nigeria will be Great again and we shall be free from all this power usurpers
Umo seems to have managed to be close to both Udom and Akpabio so far. Not sure how's managed to play that game - and I wonder what Udom thinks of his cozying up to the APC and whether he's among those to defect.
Racoon: See them? And this is participatory democracy to these people? It has never gone this bad. But trust! Something is going to happen that will shake this nation to its foundation again.
As long as it's not a coup d'etat (which God forbid), it might as well happen already.
ifihearam: Zelenskyy is a selfish man, this war still lingers because he still curries favore from the West.imagine over the past 4 years over $500b has been sent to him both in cash and ammunition.how would he want it to end when over 5000 men die weekly. he does not want it to end for personal gains. he should send his immediate family to the frontline battle.
You audited him and found $500 b in his pockets or Swiss accounts? Has Zelenskyy ever been accused corruption? Or is this something Putin fans are just hoping will finally get the rest of us to agree with them that Yes, Putin (who's likely ordering the bombing of a school or supermarket as we speak) is the good guy and Zelenskyy is the bad guy?
And how exactly could Zelensky have ended this war?
ifihearam: Zelenskyy tackled who? lol It was Vance who dealt with him before Trump asked him to be thrown out. With respect to Ramaphosa, he played it well by being cool and respectful, with trump just stroke his ego by praising and thanking him then you are good. But his body language suggested he really didnt want anything to do with SA. Rama even appealed to him to attend the G20 summit in SA and take back the mantle of leadership.
You people will never agree Zelensky did anything right - just because you don't want the world to see he's Putin's father. Why hate a man so much for defending his family and country? What did he do to you?
StaffofOrayan: If only black people can't stand up for one another the way whites seem to do, imagine Tinubu asking UAE why they are sponsoring the genocide in South Sudan!
Broveens42: You were talking about South Korea and how developed it seemed despite its corruption challenges. But you forgot democracy was clearly non existent; as applied and ironically, Nigeria may have been more developed than it is, if Obj had served 6 terms or more.(Taking to account, Obj had a more inclusive government/fed character, though his disposition might have appeared autocratic)
I will never understand you people's fascination with dictatorship/undemocratic things. So if we let OBJ serve 6 terms because, IN YOUR OPINION, he was a good leader, what would have happened when the next guy comes and in your opinion, he's a bad leader? He will allow you to change the constitution again so he can only serve two terms?
And you suggesting that South Korea has done well because someone ruled them for a long time?
This Generation grew up on books, moonlight games, mud play and plasticInes. They experienced what NTA was and learnt how to pronounce words by watching Sesame Street. They are adventurous and very creative. One virtue they possess is an ability to fix things instead of discarding them as junk. The power of writing belongs to them as this was the Era of letter writing and under the mango tree romance.
Generation Y: 1980s to 90s
This Generation also experienced what the Gen X had but they grew up on books, computer games like the Nintendo and shows like Voltron. These are the children who love to meet up with friends at their house to play games on their computers and game Nintendo and Gameboy consoles. Unlike their older guys who were bookish and meet up to swap books, this ones meet up to swap games.
Generation M and Z: The Millenials.
These are the "Indomie" children. The ones who grew up on phones, tabs and the technology advancements. They are smart or so they'll have us the Older Generation believe but they have a flaw which is: They have zero tolerance level for patience. They believe in discarding things instead of fixing them. If they're stuck in a rut instead of thinking their way through, they rely on gadgets to do the thinking for them. Their inventiveness has led them to basardize the English language by creating words of their own and inserting those words in the English vocabulary such that they now sound sensible where they once wasn't Words like. Duh Baddo Baddest and a host of others.
So I put forward this question. Which Generation is the smartest?
For me I chose Gen X not because I belong to that Generation but because we are adaptable. We can easily adjust to whatever trend we find ourselves in unlike the Gen Zs.
I like Gen X - they do have some of the tenacity of Boomers. But Gen Z are my favourites. They're generally less cynical and try to make the world a better place. I think (hope) that Nigeria will get better when they start running it.
meobizy: Where una dey find them? Someone can ask if Jack was a boy, a poster will respond with a meme. “How was the morning?” is followed with a meme. Some are irrelevant. Some are dead on point. If one asks me, using them displays immaturity on the person’s part. How hard is typing a well thought response to a subject one finds interesting.
I actually like coming across them. Some make you laugh. I think it takes considerable creativity to deploy them well.
I also don't know where they find them though. I co-ask that one.
TimeManager: Elrufai is like a fly that is following a dead body inside grave. The combination of beating he will collect in 2027 will enter into Guinness book of world records. He said he wanted to teach Lagos how to end godfatherism but it is his own successor in his state that is showing the people of Kaduna how to end Elrufai's godfatherism in Kaduna. Another man in Kwara that said he wanted to reduce Tinubu to an ordinary citizen, we know how Otoge tsunami blew him away in Kwara. Even Atiku, in Adamawa, the Governor has divided the Emirate and cut down Atiku's influence. Talk is cheap, you can talk from now till 2027 but remember Tinubu no dey talk, he acts.
-Kiss the truth!
I have this vision of him and Dino Melaye, the only opposition leaders remaining in the country, screaming loudly on election day - after Bulaba has already been declared winner - before 12 noon.
Spursy: Edo and Ibadan, I don't even know the one with the higher number of Brown roofs
Brown roofs are a sign of early development – at least, in the area of building. Those ungalvanized corrugated iron sheets were the first to come to West Africa and replace thatch roofs. So these are mostly houses built in those early days before galvanized sheets, asbestos, etc. became the norm.
To illustrate, if you compare major Western cities and major Chinese cities, you will see that the building patterns are not the same - because the Chinese cities were built more recently, they have a different style and look.
Women traders at the New Market in Benin City staged a protest after government workers began removing the roofs of their stores without any prior notice.
According to an eyewitness, "They were suddenly asked to vacate their shops without being informed beforehand that the Edo State Government planned to ‘rebuild the market.’ The women were caught off guard when men just showed up and started dismantling their roofs under the guise of renovation."
Angered by the unexpected action, the women took to the main road, blocking it in protest.
Broveens42: Not me but nature betrays anything you call democracy. You can only sugarcoat it, to make it attractive through technology or media propaganda.
For instance, America can not claim to practice 'democracy' when electoral college voting system, favour a certain group of people
A system that favours a certain group of people has a flaw in its practice of democracy. So does the US system favour a certain group of people?
Suluhu-Hassan started well. But recently, she's been turning into something else. Elections have turned her into a budding dictator. Another one bites the dust.
Beremx: it was worst under Tinubu when he was governor. Fashola came and sanitized everywhere. Ambode's impact on sanitation wasn't felt because he took Fashola's glory. Sanwolu's administration is lagging behind on sanitation after starting well. One of the major causes of dirtiness in Lagos is open defecation. If you think I'm lying, take a trip to PPL bus stop along Lagos-Badagry expressway way just before Okokomaiko. The obnoxious open defecation going on in that area calls for emergency. The defecation is right on the open area between the two roads. The day I crossed the express road, I nearly died of suffocation.
Why was the driver running from a search? Are the police officers not trained to aim and shoot accurately? How will the family of the victim be compensated Hope the driver will rot away in jail and the police whose fire arm killed the victim, hope he will go to rehab after being released for voluntary man slaughter??
This is one of the reasons why it's important to have an accurate database of every vehicle in the country...
How i wish this was the case... No need to chase the fool or shoot after him... Na to go block am or alert other police officers in the area to look out for the idiot.... May the soul of the dead rest in peace..
It's sad to know that incidents like these could have been avoided... May God heal Nigeria.. Alot is going on that is beyond human comprehension and solution
I think they can do that even under the current system. We need a rule that makes it clear to our police that you can't shoot at anyone or anything UNLESS YOU'RE BEING SHOT AT OR SOMEONE IS BEING SHOT AT and so lives are in danger. As long as this is not done, these incidents will continue.
coleon: How many western country is richer than China apart from the US? He be like you don smoke Igbo abi. China is far richer than all the western countries combined once you remove the US.
I doubt you know anything about PCI – by which people in the poorest country in the West would be far richer than Chinese people. Pity you think you have the chops to discuss the subject.
