Ukraine has used up all Europe's weapons. And Russia is winning. Against the whole world. You now think a naked Europe can stand Russia?
You funny
Survival of the fittest? Well, you don't seem very fit. You want to live in the Stone Age when people attack their neigbours at will, yet you're whining that you don't have bases.

I can paste a list of small neighbours attacked and ask you to paste those attacked attacked by Europe.

You know you can be a normal country – tone hat doesn't attack its neighbours for sport. Then you'd have friends and bases everywhere too. Or you won't even need them. There'e be no NATO because there'd be no worries about Russia

America exports little and Europeans exports all of her cars to the biggest market. The tarrif will crush the economy of Italy and Germany whose economy is the main driving force of the EU.
So crushing the EU's economy is the objective? Alright, green card holder.

And presidents have never got it wrong and so should not have their policies criticized. Genius.

So you think Mad Vlad will attack Europe tomorrow? Let him attack naa. I only mentioned 5 years in terms of re-arming, not in terms of readiness to tackle Russia.

Even if they don't have enough arms to fight Russia (which isn't true), they have money and can always BUY from America. But maybe you think Trump will just stand by and let Mad Vlad overrun Europe.

But in such an arrangement
America go still lose
So I wonder if trump will take it
In Trumpiverse, there's no scenario in which America wins on this tariff matter. The current system is not weighted against America, but Mr Trump just wants to see a trade surplus - because he has a kid's understanding of these things. If that happens, the price Americans will pay is not something you want to imagine. But let's see.

I have not seen a useless, toothless organisation like EU. Led Ukraine to war they can't fund nor have what it takes to defend Europe.

Which Russia? Europe is militarily far below it's potential, but that can be fixed in less than 5 years. Better believe they're on it now. As for Russia, which Russia?

And how did they lead Ukraine to war?

How Minna borders on being a hamlet.
* Nature
* Quiet
* All the modern amenities you'd find a city
* Good schools (private and public) for your kids
* Affordable qualitative life
I can see why anyone born or socialised into city life might not like the place, but some people do love the country life and Minna is a good place for that. I currently live in Lagos, yet every week I drive to my farm in Ogun State - it's like blood tonic, getting into the bush. Not having to drive to do that would be great. Note that Minna has an airport, so dashing to Lagos or Abuja for the weekend or shopping is a breeze.

That's what it amounts to. US market is virtually open while countries like Nigeria and China slap tariffs on imports
Trump is missing some basic facts. He fails to realise that the US economy has simply evolved beyond factory jobs to complex services. He doesn't understand complex global supply chains that see a car part crisscrossing the border between the US and Canada a few times before the car is made. He thinks a trade imbalance should be read like a profit and loss statement to determine which side is cheating the other.

jesusjnr2020:
Images of bibles surviving an inferno is one that's been observed to be celebrated by many Christians, because they believe that confirms the Bible as the Word of God and hence indestructible.

Hence when i recently saw a post here about a pastor and his members destroying the Bible publicly, and I knew that would come as a shock to many of them.

https://www.nairaland.com/8332457/pastor-church-members-publicly-destroy

However that only confirmed the stark reality of the Bible which I have been saying for a long time, that the Bible isn't the Word of God but a book that contains the Word of God.

Hence why I wasn't moved or shocked one bit any bit seeing the Bible being destroyed easily by men like most Christians would.

The Word of God which I believe in can never be destroyed by men.

The Word of God to me is Jesus and His Words that can never pass away but abides forever. Matthew 24:35.

God bless.
Wait, people thought a Bible can't burn?

You argue like you don't know what I am talking about. Must these countries clearly overtake the USA before you see clearly? They are doing very well because of U S policies after 1945. Europe was a mess after 1945. What policy would have helped them economically post world war 2 after their destruction, genius? I now wish Hitler won so you all can be ranting. You never want to see the good side, only to criticize and complain.

USA making their currency a global one was a win win situation at the time. Even Nigeria would have done the same. A country battered by war cannot help itself including currency wise, that was why most countries especially those plunged by the war used the usd at the time till they could stand on their own. Between 1945 and now, most of those countries are currently the top 10 economies in the world but peeps like you will still complain because you are bound not to see anything good.

The Canada you talk about has the 9th largest economy in the world, but your problem is they still use usd as exchange. The china you called which is the 2nd most powerful country economically, is poised to overtake the USA economically. This also include India for your information. But peeps like you still complain.

You will sure cry blood if Hitler had defeated the allies, if this is how you base your judgement.
I know what you’re talking about. That America helped save all of us from the evil Nazis. That’s why I said we’re on different subjects. But, yes, America helped save us – I, too, I have used that line of argument for America haters.

Now we’ve agreed on the subject you’re interested in, I’m sure we can go home.

Foreign Affairs › Re: Trump Calls Tariffs "Economic Revolution", Says China The Most Hit Country. by JuanDeDios: 6:06pm On Apr 05, 2025
cathodekazim:
This post from Donald Trump reflects an alarming level of hypocrisy, naivety, and a lack of understanding of the broader economic realities. First, the very claim that China has "treated us unsustainably badly" ignores the fundamental fact that trade relationships are reciprocal. If America has been taken advantage of, it's because of decades of bad policy choices that were made under his watch and by his predecessors—many of whom were his allies. Rather than acknowledge the mistakes of past administrations, Trump has chosen to scapegoat others and deflect attention from his own failings.

Moreover, his assertion that America is somehow "bringing back jobs and businesses like never before" rings hollow. In reality, the jobs he's referring to often come with low wages, unstable benefits, or are part of industries that are fundamentally unsustainable. The illusion of job creation ignores the reality of automation and globalization, forces that no amount of rhetoric can undo. The promise of "more than five trillion dollars of investment" is another hollow boast, as such figures often fail to address the underlying issues of income inequality and the deepening wealth gap that his policies have exacerbated.

Trump's rhetoric also ignores a critical point: the policies that hurt other countries will eventually rebound on America. The imposition of tariffs and trade wars, meant to "bring back jobs," often results in higher costs for consumers and undermines the very businesses he claims to support. If we continue down this path, the fallout will be a trade war that damages American workers more than it helps them—an irony that's lost on his supporters, who continue to cheer on policies that ultimately hurt their own economic stability.

The hypocrisy of those supporting Trump is just as glaring. They cheer on a president who touts his "economic revolution" while actively undermining the social safety net and reducing funding for the very public services that would help ordinary Americans weather these economic challenges. They blindly follow a leader who engages in crony capitalism, enriching himself and his allies, while leaving the vast majority of Americans struggling.

Rather than "making America great again," we are heading toward a future of increased division, weakened global standing, and an economy that benefits the rich at the expense of the working class. Trump’s promises are nothing more than empty slogans, and the reality of his policies will be a historic failure for America—one that his supporters will eventually have to confront.

What is important is for govt to ensure security of lives and properties across board

Incessant killings and kidnappings has made Nigerians especially in the remote parts suspicious and resentful of strangers

It's time for govt to make state and community policing a reality and stop playing politics with it
My thoughts too. I'd've loved to hear from him details of what transpired on that road before these horrible crimes were committed.
