dragunov: There are other less expensive sources of animal protein out there. It's not by force to eat beef. There are no less expensive sources of meat than beef. Only more expensive ones. The real problem with private ranching, though, is that they will be pushed out of business by cheaper imported meat–and we'd have a new problem on our hands. Don't get me wrong. I support the proposed law. I just don't think it can be implemented without robust government input/subsidies. |

malali: Potential Impact on Beef Prices Implementing large-scale ranching could significantly increase the cost of beef due to the high expenses associated with establishing and maintaining ranches. These would make Nigerian cows too expensive for purchase as cows from Niger and other neighboring countries practicing open grazing will be cheaper in the open market. These are the problems in the way of ranching that nobody is willing to talk about. This is why government has to step into this "private business", which has become a national security issue. Yes, open grazing has to go since it has become a vehicle for crime. But government has to put on its thinking cap if a solution is to be found. |

Lagusta: Hmmmmmmmm
This is a sad story indeed
Well, as a doctor, I have these points to drop
1. As a JW, he has the full right to reject anything blood, but he can still perform surgeries on his wife and allow blood substitutes like tothema
2. The so-called Gynecologist/obstetrician made some errors. Pre-labour rupture of membranes in a multigravid without any obvious sign of contraction, with an estimated birth weight of 3.9kg is a very clear indication of CS until proven otherwise. I am not a gynae bit I have entered theatre many times so I know this.
3. Never mess with medical personnel. Some of them DO know their onions. This anaesthetist nurse knows the fulk BLS protocol of resuscitation.
4. It's so painful that this young man lost both mother and baby on the same day. R-jolad should really scrutinize the kind of medical practitioners they employ. The bereaved should take the matter to MDCN disciplinary committee for further action.
5. May God comfort the bereaved. Ọmọ this one hit home Please I have a question. No vex. Can someone avoid all this trouble by opting for an elective CS from the get go - whether primi or multi? |
Health › Re: Prince Ovwiomodiowho Accuses R-Jolad Hospital In Death Of Pregnant Wife, Son by JuanDeDios: 7:50am On Jun 06, 2024 |
dontrulee: Management of prelabour and labour stage was definitely subpar... The hospital may be at fault, but it's almost similar in all other health care facilities in Nigeria if not worse.
Induction wasn't the best option in this case, oxytocin infusion was too long predisposing to a ruptured uterus from hyper stimulation.
A lot of steps and protocols were overlooked probably because she wasn't a Primi but that's isn't an excuse.
It pains me as an obstetrician and gynecologist hearing or seeing maternal mortality. The pain is great, and I follow standard protocols to reduce it to its barest minimum. Please I have a question. No vex. Can someone avoid all this trouble by opting for an elective CS from the get go - whether primi or multi? |

FYI .... Russia was the main arms supplier to Nelson Mandela and the Freedom Fighters that freed South Africa from the US and Israeli backed oppressive racist government. Underdeveloped China at that time and Cuba were also major supporters of the Freedom Fighters so when you see South Africa having close ties with these countries you should understand why. You didn't read carefully. Anyway, you make the point I was trying to make in that post. Very well. Ok, let me spell it out for you - I doubt you'll get it if I don't. With the prevailing conditions in the country, GOs need to up their pay. These pastors are crying and unhappy ! Many of them work full time and don’t have any other source of income! That's a low salary. But these pastors work part time, right? I mean, they hold regular jobs and only do church during non-working hours, right? Anyway, it's still small. |
