immortalcrown: If the management of UNIBEN is not corrupt and has not been using the electricity bill payment as a channel to steal money, why hasn't UNIBEN been using prepaid meters?
simpleseyi: In the first instance, it was Tinubu who influenced his appointment by Kwakwanso when the last Emir died. I remember that the FG lead by Goatluck Jonathan already congratulated the other contestant then , Tinubu was on Kwakwanso's neck to appoint Sanusi Lamido Sanusi the pedophille because Tinubu wanted someone who would work assiduously again Jonathan's reelection being that Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was at that time recently disgraced by Jonathan.
God1000: Very sad, this is where western help is needed but they prefer sending bombs worth billions of dollars to wipe out a population and ignore disasters around the world
Onyiiobi7735: Very unfortunate. The Western hypocrites should be channeling their assistance to geologically climatically troubled regions like PNG,but no,the Pigs prefer fomenting chaos and keeping conflicts alive by sending weapons in constant flow, just like in the ongoing Israel Hamas war. Western White Pigs are a curse to the world. BTW,New Guinea lies on the Notorious Pacific Ring of Fire which rings the Pacific Ocean. This tectonic belt is ravaged by earthquakes, hurricanes, typhoons volcanic activity and tsunamis.
In the end, it's the West that will go and help them (They're on their way as we speak). You two and your big for nothing (BfG) country will do nothing.
turmacs: shebi as the guy has successfully scattered the marriage now he is happy? Look at how he just scattered the years upon years of happiness and love they've shared together, just because of ordinance DNA test, shior 😒.. I wonder the kind of weak men we have nowadays.
Which marriage? This lady set out to rob him from the beginning, using marriage.
Obviously, peace left Kano State when Kwankwaso, Shekarau and Ganduje started fighting. Shekarau is out of the fight after Kwankwaso humiliated him in NNPP.
The solution would be to end the dominance of the other two behemoth.
Kano politicians are always very strong. From Aminu Kano to Abubakar Rimi. The current two need to be weeded out as their actions are retrogressive for peace and progress of Kano.
I still insist Sanusi should not have accepted to return. The rightful claimant to the throne is Sanusi Ado Bayero as he was chosen by the kingmakers. He should be given the right to say his brother should continue or Sanusi should be brought back. Him and not any politician.
Well, the kingmakers did unchoose SAB and chose SLS. How about that?
xtocom: Rip to them! Lightning always looks for a high objects mostly conductor to path through to the earth, living under high power line is more risky as transient can easily occur.
So apart from underneath high-tension cables, where else should we avoid?
Emyogalanya: I wonder why people still think they are not Igbo's its like saying that americans are still italians cos they Migrated from italy. Or that israelians are egyptians after staying there for over 400 years
Which "people" think they're not Igbos? Of course, they're Igbos.
Nonybb: Who says that Onitsha is not part of Igbo or Biafra? They have continued this propaganda perpetuated by Gowon during the war when he gave the Eastern governorship seat to Asika Ukpabi, an indigent of Onitsha in order to spite Ojukwu who declared Biafra. Ukpabi then rallied around his people and declare their non interest in Biafra
Since that time, some people rode on that ploy that was sanctioned by the northern oligarchs to divide the Igbos. They have successful brainwashed Ikwerre when Gowon visited Port Harcourt in solidarity during the war to distant them from Ndigbo. Till today, that propaganda still stood. They divide and they rule. I know you people might say that Nnaemeka Achebe is a custodian and should know the facts but cultural, linguistically and virtually otherwise, we are not the same with Bini people. If everyone claim to be Bini like Ikwerre people do, then where do Bini from? From the sky? (By the way, I don't even believe that Ikwerre people are not Igbos, because it's like saying, I am from Mbaise, I am not Igbos)
We call God Chineke, and they have theirs. Must everything be linked with the Bini people. Even Lagos State is proclaimed to be Bini original dwelling place, so Yorubas came from Bini too? What is so special about them that everyone else have to come from them? Then change the name of Nigeria to Bigeria
richie240: Your 10 year old pikin dey come home with items wey your yearly salary nor fit buy, u turn blind eyes. The day hand 'touch am' for market u come dey say u nor encourage am to steal. Den suppose beat u join.
We can deceive ourselves, but this is the way Nigerian politics is. There was nothing civilised about Jonathanians. The same applies to Buharists and BATists.
LibertyRep: If they like let them set Kano on fire, na dem sabi. It would have been better if he was reinstated by the court instead of the legislative gymnastics Abba and the house has done.
What this means is that another Governor that does not like his face might still send him packing in 2027 or 2031
He was removed by legislative gymnastics. In a serious country, no court will intervene to change that since the House duly exercised its powers. Only legislative gymnastics can restore him.
DeepSight: Can anyone ever try what happened in Kano in Benin? Removing and un-removing the king?
Yes. The British removed Oba Ovonramwen in 1897.
However, it's not as easy. The thing is, you can pick anyone from certain families to be emir of Kano. But in Benin, only one person, the eldest surviving son of the last king, can be king. So if the state government removes him, Benin would go kingless until he dies in exile and his eldest son is enthroned. However, the political cost of doing that will be such that no governor would contemplate it lightly. Of course, if he was removed because he was manifestly bad and everyone agrees, the traditional council might agree for a regent to reign in his place until his death and it's time for his son, the crown prince. But, again, even with primogeniture, regency often leads to disputes, as we saw in Ubiaja and other places.
HitlerWasRight: I love Obi for one reason only : he has exposed your duplicity and your selfish evil ambitions.
If anything, at worst case scenario, Obi will see to your further ostracism from the centre and best case scenario, will see you all get your Biafra and leave the rest of us in peace.
Hitler was right? Just when you thought you'd seen it all.
muhammaduyusufu: "I hope for the sake of the nation that he doesn’t express interest in the next election because for me as a leader, if there was any proof that he was unfit to lead that country, it’s in the conduct which he encouraged among his followers."- Professor Wole Soyinka.
Is this not what turned me against Peter Obi? Trolling me on social media. Threatening to kill my child. Leaking my address online. Coming to my home. Spreading lies that I asked Peter Obi for money.
If not for their behaviour, I would never have turned against Obi. And because of them, I will never stop exposing him.
May God never allow such a fellow and his odious movement to control the affairs of this country. In Yeshua's Name, I pray.
#TableShaker
I've always said "Obidients" will be the end of Obi.
No, it's not true that Obi, a gentleman by many standards, has encouraged this behaviour (neither has he discouraged it). Besides, this kind of behaviour is not unique to Obidients. But perception has its own way of working. It's what it is.
being: Wrong! Band A doesn't necessarily have grt hours of supply and everybody will eventually be paying 220/kwhr soon.. the band A rhetoric is just to reduce resistance to the increase.
But of course I agree it's likely to be a little cheaper than petrol.. Another thing is that an electric engine is more efficient than a petrol engine and has less maintenance due to fewer parts. The limiting factors are just the charging time, range and availability of electricity
You make my point. Well done.
I've listened extensively to people currently on Band A. They all complain endlessly about the fare but admit they have good supply. And, no, I don't believe we'll be on Band A soon. Even someone as obtuse as Nigerian politicians knows it won't fly. Even if that were to happen, supply would be better, which takes us back to my point.
Mindlog: That reminds of a similar incident that occurred in the late 90s, the landlord gave quit notice to the woman who converted the rented space to a brothel as she rented the entire compound while the landlord lived in the next compound. Landlords around were against the landlord renting the entire building to the woman for the brothel business as she was relocating from the other end of the street where the owners evicted but the landlord was greedy because the woman offered him twice he would have gotten from regular tenants and him being in his 50s, a randy single father with grown up children from different wome, the thought of having easy access to prostitutes was enticing and madam also offered him free pick of any of her girls whenever he desired.
Just one year down the line, regular police raids of the brothel from Area H in trail of armed robbers, regular fights among the girls and indecent exposure to the children in the neighbourhood.
By the second year, the landlord had enough and gave quit notice but the woman insisted she is going no where and stopped paying rent, this got the landlord frustrated and got carpenters to remove the entire roof of the brothel. The woman got the landlord arrested, claimed her money and those of her girls were stolen when he brought "hoodlums" to the brothel.
The case ended up in court, though the woman and her girls moved out and the court had the property sealed while the case ran its course for years, despite everyone knowing no money was stolen as it was a Church that wanted to buy the property that had the case withdrawn from the court and had a financial settlement with the woman.
Armaggedon: Who runs an electric powered commercial tricycle business when there is neither charging facility nor steady power supply. The time taken to recharge will cost you trips compared to fuel powered.
being: U can't be so sure on the top of yr head... u have to sit down and do the cost analysis.. remember electricity is N220/kwhr now. Also, where is the electricity to charge it ? Then, hw long does it take for a full charge- 5 hours? Which commercial driver has that time?
1. If you live in a place where electricity is N220/k, then you have more than enough electricity to recharge things. Right? 2. Nobody works 24 hours. So you can plug it in by 10 pm and remove it by 6 am. Right?
The only thing remaining to analyse would then be cost of electricity vs petrol. I doubt cost of electricity, even at N220, will come close to that of petrol.
Obi joined the Federal Capital Territory, FCT chapter of the Labour Party and supporters, who converged at the National Secretariat in solidarity with Abure, after the 2024 National Convention held in Anambra State.
Namaster: France seems to have their senses and dignity intact. Rest of them are spineless cowards dripping with hypocrisy.
First of all, I don't even have a problem with what Israel is doing to Hamas. The only way to deal with an enemy is to OBLITERATE them. That's what Israel is doing.
It takes RUTHLESSNESS and BRUTALITY to achieve that. Netanyahu supplies that in EXCESS.
Now the problem is that Israel, US, UK and their other allies keep insisting that Israel is a SAINT for doing EXACTLY what they've crucified other countries and their leaders for.
It's the height of hypocrisy.
If you don't have a problem with what Israel is doing, why do you condemn those who support it? Because you refuse to see or accept the nuances between different conflicts?
bemeruca: Nobody will get their act together. Soldiers are stupid, tribes are stupid, police are stupid, politicians are laughing all the way to the bank because they know our biggest curse is the multitude of tribes we have in this country and the selfishness that clouds our mind.
You talk bad about the situation, yoruba man will attack you because it is their tribal man in charge of the country, igbo do the same thing. The problem is there, we leave it and fight ourselves, causing more problems
Well, it's sad. But some societies have overcome similar problems. All it take is elite consensus. That's what we don't have at the moment.
