LaIabobo: Inflation is around 33% while costs of goods have risen over 250%
Nigeria economy defeats the best economic policy/principles. The problem cant be solved using inflation rate or reducing the amount of money in circulation. Correct. Fundamental issues have to be addressed. No short cuts. |

higgs: Increasing MPR will actually make inflation worse by increasing cost of borrowing for businesses. Right now, inflation in Nigeria is caused by insecurity and the high, unstable exchange rate of the naira This take is correct, in my view. |

dododawa1: Will food stuff
Reduced
? No, not likely. None of the factors that should make food prices go down have been addressed. This announcement will only help bring in FPI, and even if that results in more dollar liquidity and some appreciation in the value of the naira, recent events tell us that will not lead to a significant reduction in food prices. |

giftbawa: This means if you are to get a short-term loan for your business from any commercial bank they would charge an average of 36% percent per Annum. this would kill your business because if you add labour costs, Nepa / generator, marketing, logistics, commission to get the job, and other local and government taxes, it would be hard to stay in business. Yes, it'll certainly be very bad for businesses that are servicing existing loans. |

Ebeano49: FREE money for FPI. They will flood in now that $ is nearly at 1500. Their inflows will lead to artificial appreciation of the naira to about 1200. Then they'll exit. Thus making a killing on currency differential + 26.25% ROI. Happy days!
YOU CAN'T RIG INTERNATIONAL FINANCE.
Give Nigerians power supply. Give them security to boost agriculture, trade and tourism. Cut down on wasteful government spending. Enforce rule of law no matter whose horse is gored. Allow free, fair and transparent elections..... then sit back and watch foreign investors flood in as the country prospers. It's really that simple.

The dad would ask the mom a question using a combination of English, Zulu and Tswana. And the kid would respond in Afrikaans while finishing it off in Xhosa. Non South Africans often find it intriguing. |

rantingpigs: UK as a colonial master treats NIGERIA with utmost disdain. Maybe that is the reason TINUBU aligns more with France, who incidentally are now trying to recapture lost African territory.
Get my submission. France doesn't mean well and UK is just extremely worthless.. My submission is that you have to choose one - it's hard to take your position seriously because it's running with two contradictory ideals. What some of you don't know is that after independence, Nigeria signed a military alliance with the UK. But UI students strongly opposed it and the Balewa government had to back down. The UK prefers to hands of its colonies–one of the reasons is that they're embarrassed about their imperial past. It's why you'll hardly see them sell arms to African countries. France, on the other hand, has never had any inhibitions about being involved and interfering in its colonies. This ought to have both advantages and disadvantages but it has not really worked out well for the people of those countries since France cares far more about regime stability than development. No, the UK is not worthless. If we get our act together, we could trade with them on equal terms. |

Reason why it's cheaper to just use estimate OR BETTER yet turn off the power after closing hours & Only back ON the next day around 10-11 am. staff quarters, shops should each have personal meters & pay for thier own power fees to the school I see. I think bolded should certainly be implemented. |

Lionessza6: LMFAO. Oh God!. ....unnecessary grammar .
I said you're a hypocrite and you are. So South Africa doesn't have too much going on in South Africa? . The bond between Palestine and South Africa is a decades long one, this is not a trend that was picked up by SA because it's now popular to do so; go back and research what has lead us here with them and what their stance was on us when they too were getting bombed even back then. The two places a binded by common history and present realities that we don't share with the rest of Africa. You cannot expect us to abandon a cause that we identify with more than any in this world because most of Africa is in turmoil . South Africa cannot be tied down to African issues when we also share a lot with others outside of the continent, and mind you South Africa is not a black country like most, we are a multi-racial country and that will always have us more talked about and involved with the outside world than other African countries. What you and other countries who share a lot of similarities should be doing is forming alliances that could assist your own causes instead of trying to black-shame us into doing the work you should be doing .
South Africa is the one that brokered the peace deal between the warmongers of Ethiopia , where was the rest of Africa? Is Ethiopia a warzone now after that intervention?
South Africa has been actively involved in the Mozambican and SADC terrorism fight, and we don't need credit for that because it's our duty and our region.
South Africa is has had its army in Congo for decades, and brought more soldiers this year.
The same SA army has been deployed in Burundi and Sudan, and we are accused of not doing anything by idle nations .
Who is the biggest champion of AfCTa that encourages internal African trade:who is doing more than us , whilst others are busy working with the West and East to destabilise the whole thing ?.
You're funny people. SA cannot carry the continent on its head alone whilst the rest are minding their own issues and critiquing our every move instead of being active. Rubbish!!!. Those who needlessly make snide remarks about “grammar” or those who use “Lmao” to try to dismiss arguments made by others usually don’t reason well. You’re both. I see you’re serious about pursuing your charge of hypocrisy, but calling Nigerians hypocrites for talking about Africa can only arise from ignorance. For every Congo and Ethiopia you cite, Nigerians can cite 9. But that’s not even the point here – as you fail to see. Goodluck though. |
