The only mistake air peace made was to have over 50% difference in price tag from it's closest rival. As a newbie in the business and less powerful, the price should have been between 10-30% for a start, then they can continue to adjust the price accordingly. The drastic slash in price poses a threat to these 'big' airline carriers, though air peace is expected to be cheaper than the rest because, it is our local airliner but not too cheap. Most of these airline have enough resources and experience that keep them running at a loss on lagos-london route for a full year non stop and still make profit. The only remedy is the government standing up for air peace. Create policies that encourages the like of air peace and other local airliners. >Make their charges cheaper, >sell aviation fuel to them cheaper. >Make them government approved airline on that route, such that every official assignments undertaken by government officials have to be via air peace >they may also get extreme by setting air peace and others as priority airliner on certain day(s) of the week such that on that specific day air peace must have boarded before any other airline can be allowed to |
Bro it's no hate, I bet you will do the same when faced with opportunity like what happened last month. In fact if this trend continues, the month of march will also experience similar inflow. It is sad to say, but what we experienced last month was people simply taking advantage of the predicament we found ourselves regarding exchange rate. Naira fell from about 900/$ to about 1,900/$. This presented a huge opportunity for people to gain more naira with fewer dollars and of cause as expected Nigerians in diaspora pushed in more foreign currencies to earn more naira. Ideally, this move was supposed to cause the naira to appreciate, but we never witnessed such. Government didn't do anything tangible, this was just one of the good side of a bad situation and it happens almost every time. seunmsg: |
We know He spoke off point in an attempt to please his boss and political party. However, I don't think it calls for abuse. He is a good man, we can attest. But we all know that farmers headers crises is not peculiar to south east and the issue persists all over the country. So if he claims it has ceased in the southeast, we are not there. However, we expect same measures be implemented in other palaces if this is really an initiative from the presidency. I actually didn't expect such flimsy point from him. It either he was ill prepared or he doesn't have much to say. As a politician I expected him to claim Abia power plant as Tinubu achievement to the southeast, he can add airports in view, and even claim that tinubu is considering a seaport for southeast and many other audio premises, then he will conclude by saying that tinubu plans to conduct a very free and credible election in 2031 that will see a southeastern becoming the president. But the truth is that southeast not joining the protest is simply because they want to prove a point. I just wish that in all these, Nigeria gets better. sweetjohn: |
Your option is great, we all advocate for a producing nation, but it is not feasible at the moment, as we still have a long way to go. Nuzo1: |
I am of the opinion that this story is not entirely complete. It's either He's hiding some vital points from you or you don't want to say that part. A lot of things might have gone wrong which had elements of his fault that is not been said and I wouldn't want to preempt. Please dig dipper, ask about their intimacy before, was it free flowing, ask about his relationship with other ladies, has any instance he cheated and she playing a revenge game? Also ask about situation surrounding their getting married? There maybe certain guilts that is making him not to take decisive action in this case. Guilt or no guilt may not stop his wife from her whorish attitude, but it will make him have a definite stand seeing he is a matured man. Haven said that, I will advocate that men marry ladies that are at least matured at heart. I am not specific about the age here, because I have seen 19 years old lady that is a graduate and reasons maturely, so when she makes decision you know it wasn't out of her limitations and nativeness. I have seen a lot of marriage crash in this manner and the ladies come to later claim they were deceived or naïve. Please this should stop, the man is old enough to know that. EreluRoz: |
The thing you should understand here is that the Government has already made it porous, leading to disbelieve in the system. Otherwise why will people want to shore up dollars when it is not gold nor precious stone, not even a land. why will there be artificial demand when if there are tendencies that it may fall. This is simply because people have seen it that it will rather raise than fall against the naira. Their method is a short term, and every economics knows that and simply waiting for dollars to come a little lower, and they will rush to buy, pushing the price higher again. To curb this, the government need to keep feeding the naira with her dollars reserve consistently for at least 6 month, and then create a rugged policy that no dollar should lie in an account for more than six months. Meaning that any dollar in an account must traded with or converted into naira in a 6 months cycle, thereby frustrating the effort of those who have the means and intention to hoard for a longer period. Then, we must go cashless especially with the naira and other currencies otherwise a lot of loopholes will be created. waveman2: |
This is highly disrespectful to the Christian folks, especially the Catholics which was clearly depicted in this music video. I will urge them to do the needful, follow legal and other appropriate means to seek redress. The CAN can also help out in this case. Some of our musicians are actually testing waters by crossing boundaries. The last time it was Davido music depicting mallams and now Asake depicting Catholic priest. Respect is reciprocal, we should respect people's believe, even when we don't believe in that. After all, there are other things we believe in that they don't believe. I will urge the Christian folks not to be quiet until the video is pulled down or scene expunged. That it doesn't affect me is not enough not to say something when a line is crossed. |
This method is not a lasting solution, as it is not sustainable. Naira will still come crashing. The CBN should deployed better means of stabilizing the naira, rather that this method that I call the backdoor approach. You promised them $20k weekly only to end up giving them $10k for this week. The advantage with this method is that it is a corny approach, so may not be easily predictive but that's only for a short while. The easy way most government stabilizes their local currency against the dollar is buying out their currency. They make dollars available and their currency will naturally appreciate. This is simple law of demand and supply. Scarcity breeds price increase, 'so by using the dollars from your export to buy the naira', the naira increases in value when fewer naira are chasing the dollar |
Bros, sometimes we shouldn't engage in some argument, because we only makes matters worse when you do. In an attempt to prove a point we give ourselves out. Now these countries you mentioned US, Canada, and Kazakhstan. Please Google will help you, just find out their average earning per day. Canada is the lowest with average of about 20cad per hour, yet their fuel price is 2cad max. The other 2 countries earn higher Kazakhstan own even reach $50 per day. Nigerian minimum wage is around #33,000 per month, that's about #1000 per day, you can obviously see that we buy 1ltr of diesel much higher than we earn in a day and fuel just a little less than our daily earning. Bru, you are yet to provide any actionable evidence against this man. You call something as video yet you couldn't identify who is in it. He is unpopular, yet over 400 people was detained regarding his matter. Nb: I am neither in support of Him, nor the Russian, not even the American. I hate bullying, no matter who is involved; America, Israel, Russia, China, India and even some elements in Nigeria. And don't ask me why I kept quiet in one and attack the other, I can't fight everyone. petesunday: |
Cost of production affect everything in a 'dollarized' economy like ours, and the cost of transportation due to increase in diesel price also increase the cost of goods, not just cement. However, the over 200% increase in cement price is grossly caused by scarcity of raw material, reduction in production by some manufacturer and artificially created by distributors influence. For instance company usually announces cut in production few weeks before implementing it. Distributors rather than continue their normal buying and selling will instead buy to hoard hence breeding artificial scarcity of the product, which is actually available but distributors are not selling. Putting price control in the hand of the distributors, hence both the producers and consumers are at lost. Of cause businessman with stocks in his warehouse will not order for more goods but still won't sell to the customers needing this goods because he wants to make huge profit from it, even when companies are still producing or have started producing at cheaper price. Hence, we have a situation where the manufacturer have goods wasting away in the factory while consumers are out there crying for scarcity and high cost. This will also force manufacturers to halt their production, further creating scarcity, all in favour of the distributors (dealers). And this is why dangote and other companies are recently making arrangement to have warehouse and stores in towns and cities managed by their marketer and staff. This is to minimize the influence off distributors on price control. BluntCrazeMan: |
A lot of things are responsible for high cost of living. It has nothing to do with the religion of the people but so many other factors. For instance Abu Dhabi(Islamic Capital) and Washington DC(kinda Christian capital) have higher cost of living than Abuja. Things that combine to alter the cost off living may include; cost of food, cost of transportation, cost of doing business, standard of living i.e average earning of the people in the environment, basic amenities, and other natural or artificially created factors. The north produces most of the food and meat we eat, so food is cheaper there. There are fewer businesses and industries in the north so cost of running a business is low. The Government are looking for ways to encourage investment hence, they are lessee tax, less competition, pays little and this also affect the living standard of the environment, we have poorer people there. Transportation and others expenses that are artificially created will normally come low There's no time nor space to elaborate on all these. LoveLeadsLand: |
I don't know how Lagos electricity work. But getting prepaid metre alone may cost over 100k. I will suggest you get the metre yourself and in your name if you have the money. Work with eedc guys so that if you are moving to a new place within the vicinity, you can go with it, some may not allow you to move with it anyway. Metre is like your major concern, I also feel you pay too much for a residential house with over 13 users. The other one can easily be handled by the landlord, of cause that will be increased rent to you. Lagos landlords can easily create toilet and kitchen from your room. Men are going through a lot. Many are passing through things like this on a daily bases and they simply bottle up or let go. He can actually seek for and obtain redress in court, if he have evidence that he trained her with intention to marry and there was no evidence of domestic or other form of violence against him. There are cases like that both by the man and even the lady that got a favourable judgement. Like the popular case of Natasha Akpoti vs Emmanuel Uduagha and lot more. Even without written agreement he can still win the case and obtain compensation or lady risk going to jail. dangermouse: |
Dear, sometimes you just let things go when they are not fully understood, rather than talk down on someone, just make your comment and let go. Haven said that. There's no government organization or directorate not even a small unit that operates a single obligor. Meaning there's no none that operates as single signatory to an account and in most cases directors are not signatories, so any financial fraud committed by a director must have accomplices. Payment as huge as that must be confirmed and crosschecked before it is approved. Confirmation and approval is usually done by the office of the AGF. The truth is that the both AGFs are aware of it(Accountant & Auditor). Even Emefele's personal allowance go through approval process. Sentiment apart, to get Emefele, many heads must roll, otherwise it will be seen as a pure case of witch hunt. emilo2bad: |
This is funny and at same time a life lesson. In as much as I blame the guy for training the lady with the aim of marrying her. I mean that era is gone, you don't do that to ladies of today unless you are being philanthropic without any string attached otherwise na heartbreak. I will also blame the lady for allowing him to train her when she have no feelings for him. It is inhuman, what is his compensation for doing that. In an ideal case in most churches, this allegation is capable off putting the wedding on hold until the issue is resolved. Why I find it funny and blame the man as well, is that He shouldn't have waited for wedding day to disrupt. All he need do is to report to the church wedding committee or so and they would have issue resolved or put the wedding on hold pending resolution. |
They are really making a huge mistake, thinking they are solving the issue at hand. What they are unintentionally doing is creating artificial scarcity for dollars within the country which will boomerang in no distant time. Because, dollars in cash will not be available to those who needs it for their business and other activities. People must need dollars and other foreign currencies in cash for their business and travels. Nigeria being practically impatient in nature may not be able to wait and follow the long process of obtaining BTA or PTA for their travels and even when they do, it is usually hardly enough for the purpose it intended for, so they normally resort to black market dealers. Of cause they need to make that journey,or do that business which require dollars in cash. Now, here is the twist; CBN has prevented banks from giving out cash in foreign currencies, our bureau de change will lack cash to give out and people will definitely keep demanding for cash, so those who hoard dollars will start bringing them out to sell at exorbitant prices, so don't be surprised when you hear that dollar hits 2,000 naira or more for one dollar.( Just like when Nigeria had cash crunch then). When this starts happening, some bank managers looking to profit from this, will start giving out dollars to these black market dealers through the back door, at high prices thereby further gradually depleting the dollar within the bank(we all saw this happen in during the cashless policy period) that was intended to use to cushion the effect, and also keeping more cash in circulation for longer than expected. We know Nigerians corrupt nature, once people start benefiting from that they don't care who suffers, they keep doing it, and you will come to find out that someone in government is involved making it difficult to police. What this government need, is competent hands. If they will let go of their ego and nepotism in appointment, it will go a long way. Look for someone like Ngozi Okonjo, or people that really understands how this economy works It will go a long way. Even if it takes inviting opposition to a round table and discuss how to move this our country foreword it will go a long way in salvaging the situation. Ngozi was used by Obasanjo and when Jonathan saw that she's an asset, He invited her over and she helped the economy during His tenure. This woman is non partisan and is always willing to help when called upon. There are others like her if only Tinubu is willing to spread His tentacles beyond party lines. The part has failed and continue to fail. He should work outside the party sphare and get results. Namaster: |
I believe that if Nigeria could take this steps, it would have been done, so long ago. Remember that He was reported sometimes back, but after questioning by the Finland authorities, He was released. In my view, I think that they don't have sufficient evidence against Him and may also lack the jurisdiction to prosecute him over crime levelled against him here in Nigeria. Not also ignoring the fact that this is just an allegation, no court has found him guilty yet. Now, he cannot be repatriated back to Nigeria just like that. He is a citizen of Finland(He might have even denounced Nigeria) and every country has right to protect her citizens. Just the same way Nigeria refused to deliver Abba kyari to the US when they requested. Now, Nigeria cannot not just go to UN without convincing evidence against him. In fact not with allegations. But courts (not just in Nigeria) must have found Him guilty of terrorism. (Also, having it in mind that even ipob proscription by Nigeria government is not recognized internationally). He will also have his lawyers who would argue that He's not safe in Nigeria, He can also cite the case of His brother Kanu who was illegally extradited from Kenya and still in custody despite several court order, and haven not found guilty as charged till this moment. He can add that Nigeria is lawless and does not obey rule of law. He may also further allege a plan by Nigeria government to commit ethnic cleansing of people from his region. In fact he has more reason to walk freely in Finland and nothing will happen to him Chinjo2: |
First lady of Kenya is constitutional as you can see even from your post, although I feel the allocation is outrageous. Similar to our purchasing of SUVs for law makers with outrageous amount and the presidential yatch project. But this case is different. This is assigning a constitutional role and state allocation to a completely unconstitutional entity. This can be equated to Mr president declaring office of the minister of food, or minister of social media without making provision of such in the constitution. No matter how good His intentions are, it will be kicked against. plaindealer: |
I am not in support of war of any kind. And I don't take side as long as war is concerned. But Russia has no moral justification to take sides in this war. Though, I see this as a move to garner support from the Arab nations, to enable them continue with their invasion of Ukraine, as every other region is against them. I believe it's a gamble in an attempt to woo the Arabian to their side. See eeh, those people calling on EU, UK, and or US to keep away from a particular country's affairs, have not gotten the basic knowledge about how things are done. Let's take for case of Nigeria election, where people were calling EU not to meddle in our election. I just laughed. You mean, you asking a body that contributed about 35% of the total cost of the election to keep off? You went to them to practically beg for this and after using their fund, you are saying they don't have right to talk about the election? That's just funny. And to the middle East. Over 80% of countries in the middle east depends on aid for survival. And over 60% of this aid comes from UK, EU, US and their agencies. Mind you, they don't just send aids to you, you have to ask for it or complain to a world body who act as intermediary to deliver such. And even when it is delivered, they don't force it on you. You would have to accept it and in turn accept their terms and conditions. No aid without terms & conditions. So it's hypocrisy to accept their terms in secret, then come out openly to be shouting "leave us alone". Well, for your last statement, just kill it. Because US doesn't fight alone. Not even a small country talk more of Russia and China. US has more formidable allies even in the corridors of this two countries that, Russia & China wouldn't try open confrontation with US. Do you not ask yourself, why is Putin always displaying his nuclear war head box? He's afraid, so he uses that to wade off US & NATO from direct involvement in Ukraine war. They openly sent Ukraine arms and ammunition and even sanctioned Russia to show you how powerful they could be. ken6488: |

Well, you have a point and that point is the need for proper implementation of federal tax, which would generate more revenue which would be used to for our budget financing. However, this your theory and assertion is marred with certain level of lack of proper information and also totally impracticable, with this few points. 1. Where did you get the figure for 42 million houses and if your figure is correct(which is not) how can assume 60% is in urban area knowing that Nigerians are urban dwellers. If just 60% are in urban areas then its no longer urban but semi rural. 2. How do you value an average house for 20m. How much does an average Nigerian earn? Though this may still be feasible when we put to consideration houses and estates owned by the government and corporate bodies. 3. This 3% tax can only be effective for houses owned by well meaning individuals and corporate bodies. The masses are already suffering and vast population of the country are either living in rented apartments or squatting with someone somewhere. 4. You talked about 12 million cars. And you went ahead to do your calculations including tricycles and motorcycles. I mean is the 12million figure for all? 5. You expect a motorcycle rider to pay you at least 20k per year..? Where is your emotions? You proposal is devoid of proper data. It is not practicable and therefore not implementable. mrvitalis: |
Well bruv, let me start by saying that using your phone to research is one thing, but making an accurate research and obtaining the right information is another. Let me take your point as you itemized them, though many of your point are not completely rational but I would try to get what you are trying say. 1. Israel never caged Palestine, by the truce of 1948, two states where created (Is real & Palestine). But the Palestine and Arab world at that time refused and resisted the existence Israel among them which caused Arab war by then and Israel won. This resulted to Israel occupying more territory than the initial agreement( this is common with war over territory, just like the case of Armenian that happened recently, land will be conceded in most cases. In this Ukraine war, if Russia should win, Ukraine will definitely be conceding some of her territories). Despite, Israel proving to be more powerful over and over again. They were willing to sit at the table of discussion for a lasting solution. But the Hamas and other terrorist groups refused any form of peace talk. We have the recent Arab league brokered in the UAE and even the Egypt agreement of which Israel have always kept to their own terms just for peace to reign. Now for your statement that Palestinian were the original settlers. That's a lie and we both know it but you may want to tell yourself what you feel you are OK with. Israel has undisputable historical fact and evidence to show that majority of the land they occupy were originally theirs. However, it's a lot more complex than just coming to claim their land, they were exiled by Roman empire, they fled and other people took over, living there for generations so it difficult to tell someone whose great grand father bequeathed a land to, that the land is no longer their" though the truth is that the land was never theirs". Just like Nigeria engaging say Biafra in a war, defeating them and then exile all Igbos. After many years with the help of world power Igbo decided to come back to their land, but are being resisted by the occupiers(which of cause is expected). 2. Israel is not fighting with Palestine but Hamas. Please do you finding. In fact Palestine is weak and Hamas can easily hijack that state without the intervention of Israel. Just like the Taliban did to Afghanistan. 3. Please make proper research. UN has always been in the fore front in peaceful resolution. Many of the agreement were signed in their presence. Israel has no issues with having the state of Palestine. But has always insists that the Palestine honour their agreement and expel Hamas from their land which they have not been able to do till now. 4. In war, when properly investigated there will always be evidence of human right abuse. But it must not exceed certain threshold. There human right abuses from both sides. I mean there are practical evidence that Hamas were using civilians as human shield while they fire at Israel. How do you cope with that if you are in their shoe? 5. If really Hamas is just a resistance organization not terrorist, why did they attack now, killing innocent civilians, wounded many and also kidnapped hundreds of others. This is unprovoked as there no threat, maltreatment nor incitement from Israel. In fact many of the Palestines goes to work in Israel and security allows them in and out, through the boarder. This was how they infiltrated Israel that enable the plan and launched a successful attack. Personally, I do not see the need for all these war and fight over land. Both Israel and Palestinian (Hamas) are right, in their claims over the land. Israel sees that land as their long heritage while Palestinian had long occupied the land having feeling of ownership. But peaceful resolution is always the best option. We can get all we want but we should come to an agreement. Badassniggga: |
What Reno don't understand is that Atiku's lawyers are well knowledgeable and knows quite well that Tinubu graduated from the said school, in fact they have the record as well, but their record cannot be tendered as evidence in court. Also, CSU and common to schools abroad maintain high level of integrity and keeps proper record. So, for CSU to come out to repeatedly defend that Tinubu studied and graduated from CSU, He actually did. But, here is the catch; Tinubu friends and lawyers had repeatedly stated that His certificates were destroyed by the military when they burnt down His house and he doesn't have those documents anymore. Then, where did He get the result he presented to inec. The truth is that he wouldn't need to present any result to inec to run an election. Just a court affidavit that He has such qualification is enough. That's according to supreme court judgement between Atiku vs Buhari in last election. But presenting a false result or certificate is a serious crime and Atiku knows that. In fact I believe his team actually made mistake of submitting a degree result. Now, what Atiku's team wants to do, is to get copy of the original documents from the school compare them with the one submitted to inec,(which of course would differ, and both teams know so), then use it to present at supreme as evidence that Tinubu actually presented a false document, then allow the supreme court take their verdict. Now, on why most politician don't just stop at appeal court is because appeal judgments can be overturned, but whatever judgment given by the supreme court becomes a law. So supreme court judges are usually careful not to make shabby judgements. They take their time to study and follows due processes. okoro: |
Now I really feel her pain. Family like this can easily run her to early grave. They should also understand with their daughter, and put their minds off her winning temporarily in order to get it. I am somewhat saddened that the father didn't say anything much about her welfare but was more concerned that she ghosted the family and refused to pick their calls for one year( of course it clear exaggeration). This is one year and already sounding like it's forever. I don't know if she was calm enough actually sat them down to deliberate on this. I believe that this could be a typical case of 'rushing' such that she couldn't have time to think and decided to ghost so that she can at least breathe. This his statement revealed 2 important issues. 1. The family is not financially buoyant. 2. They have hopes on the money. The first point is not ideal for any lady going to BBN. Since her family cannot sponsor her, she would need a sponsor to get into the house & fund her PR team and that cost a lot of money. Of course sponsor will not just throw in their money, they invest and must get it back. I won't be surprise if she got less than 20m from that money and a family like hers won't believe that. In fact they mostly bank on their popularity to business deals after the show not the winning par se. The second point must have triggered her panic (fright or fight mode) and she just had to run to save her head. She told him to stop what he was doing, meaning she had intention to do something about that. But I believe she couldn't deliver, because she overestimated her earning. My question for the Dad is; why go ahead to sell all your four cars when you are yet to get anything from her? At least you start from one before you count four. In conclusion, this is strictly family issue. Every family with their own. They should just sit down and understand each other. They should give her time and little space, everything will be alright. At least they didn't die this one year and they won't die and things will be normalized nlfpmod: |
This is not always the case. In fact in most cases this is not the case. Generally, we human go for what they don't have. So you will usually find a man with slim wife admiring curvy and chubby women and vice versa. I wouldn't want to share my personal experience here, but you will see men with full packaged wife still going for some ladies you'll tag "ugly and dirty". However, the choice of loyalty as well as manipulation in relationship are personal decision that is not gender specific, we still have men and women of integrity that can't compromise their stand. However, his major flop came after he missed a full semesters with so many of the CSC courses. Which could imply that he must have dropped those courses and decided to add then at final level. Which is not advisable. He could have just used an extra year. But, what is worth investigating is why he missed both CA and exams for the entire semester. Something could have happened to him or he just decided to abandon his studies at this point, due to reasons best known to him. emmy512: |

There are certain questions you need to answer by yourself before you can blame any of the parties involved. 1. Are there agreement/arrangement in the church that people must contribute certain amount to help an ailing member of which you and your family has been judiciously contributing to? 2. Have other members been involved in this situation and the entire contribution surpassing their request was given to them? 3. Is the balance put into the church account or pastors personal account? If church account as stated, then is the pastor having full unaccounted access to the church account to do what he like with it, without monitoring? 4. Is it mandatory for the church to raise money for hospital bill for all sick member of the church, and you have been contributing to all of them? 5. Is your family highly contributory to bringing this to a significant amount as it is. ( I mean, is it due to your family influence that they were able to raise that significant amount)? If answer to any of these questions is NO, then you have no right to demand for an extra to what you asked for. It was a good will to help your family and it is what you asked for. In fact it would be dishonest of you to ask for more. I mean what for, to buy food or buy clothes for the sick relative? No, you didn't say those were your issues na. Let's take out all these entitlement mentality we place on church and look at it, like organization where people give freely to what they believe in. If the pastor refuse to raise fund for you, or people refuse to contribute, you will come out to blame the pastor & the church for abandoning your loved one, forgetting that you no give anybody money hold for you. But, if you answer to all of the five questions above is YES. Then let the pastor do the needful. |
