She actually has a point. Americans will go anywhere to get their ways of life extended and have their markets extended so the Iraqis should be uniting against the common enemy who is the American soldier on the Streets.

What she has not factored in is the evil influence of the American propaganda and war machine. The Americans are there and some Iraqis will collude with the Americans for what they can get. Some Iraqis also have bitterness towards each other and since they are unable to fight the Americans who have superior firepower, they divert their anger at their other enemies.

if it happens in Nigeria, I dont think the result will be much different. Hausas will start killing Ibos and Yorubas; Ibos will start killing hausas and Yorubas and Yorubas will start killing Ibos and Hausas. There is hatred and jealousies in every country where there is multiple ethnicities and what keeps most of them from boiling over is chance rather than knowledge. Even some terribly tribally biased posts about tribes on the forum shows that there is deep-seated among Nigeria's tribes. If something was to be triggered, we would have massive chaos as well.

The American invasion made room for such in Iraq.

My Personal Opinion.

Murtala Muhammed laid the foundation for subsequent military dictatorships to THRIVE in Nigeria. He was definitely a focussed man who had a mission as Head of State. His mission was however ill-informed and he did many things without proper knowledge. Attempting to decree market prices was a recipe for economic chaos.

I admired his focus and determination. He was strong on discipline though I thought he went about most of those things in the wrong ways.

All said, I think his regime prepared the table for Nigeria's economic downward spiral

There is a lot of stupidity here from SOME those who have successfully obtained visas to go to America. The fact that a person criticises American ways or even criticises America does not imply that the person has been denied American visa. What a stupid way of thinking!!!

I have never liked Australians.

They have effectively destroyed a man's life because he happened to have passed his old sim card on to someone who turned out to be a terrorist. They also considered it suspicious enough that he had a one way ticket to his country.

How many times do Nigerians buy one-way tickets when visiting Nigeria? Does that make every such trip suspicious? would the guy have been so treated if he was a white australian?

They have also decided not to renew his work permit. Not that the permit would help the guy in anyway because i dont think any employer would be too keen to help him after that.

The doctors who were also arrested on the motorway in the UK were released without any charges, meaning that they did nothing wrong. Their lives are also blighted because they are unlijkely to find willing employers now. It's crazy that these governments are able to do such things and get away with them but if an African government was to do the same, they will be accused of human rights abuses.
