The Northern Elite are on a mission, Benue Elders should fund militia to defeat the agenda of the Northern Elite

"Atiku Is The Chief Financier Of Fulani Herdsmen" - Paul Unongo, NEF Chairman

The Chairman of the Northern Elders Forum, Paul Unongo, has accused former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of being the chief financier and most influential member of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, the apex body of Fulani herdsmen in Nigeria.

He, therefore, called on Atiku, who is a prince of the Tiv Court, to caution the herdsmen, who have been slaughtering hundreds of people in the country.

Unongo said this during an interview with one of our correspondents on Friday.

The NEF Chairman said, “I am aware that the most powerful person in Miyetti Allah is Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who wants to be the next president. If they are fighting for power and Atiku wants to create problems for Buhari, I don’t know. There are so many possibilities.

“The most powerful person who finances the Miyetti Allah is Abubakar Atiku and he is a prince of the Tiv Court. The Tiv gave him a traditional title, meaning ‘the biggest shade of the Tiv people’.

“This implies that the Tiv people should be able to run to Atiku who will protect them.

This is the man who heads Miyetti Allah and is the greatest financier of this organisation.

He has more cattle than anybody in Miyetti Allah.

“It is an establishment of the big people, a very rich group of Nigerians and they pack small boys to take their cattle all over the place and then buy all these arms to give herdsmen to go and kill people, and the government is doing nothing!”

When asked if he was sure that Atiku was the most influential member of the Miyetti Allah, Unongo said the former Vice President told him personally that he was an influential member of the association.

He added, “I know, I got my facts partially from him regarding Miyetti Allah when I used to talk to him.”

When our correspondent asked Unongo if he had met with the former Vice President recently over the issue, the NEF boss said it was very difficult to see him.

He said, “Have you tried to see a ‘big man’ before? I don’t like to wait at people’s doors. If you’re in government, yes, but when you’re not in government, it shouldn’t be so hard to see you.

Atiku is my younger brother and he should come to me.

“Anytime you go to his place, the people around him think you are there to collect money that they are sharing. So, I decided that I would not disgrace the NEF. I am not belittling him, but he is no longer in power and I deserve some respect.”

Unongo also berated the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government for treating the Fulani herdsmen crisis with kid gloves.

He said he had been warning the President for nearly three years about the crisis but that the President’s “insensitive” advisers had been deceiving him into thinking the matter was a small one.

The NEF chairman said that many of the President’s aides had been preventing him from seeing the President and telling him the truth about the issue.

Unongo, who is both Tiv and Fulani, said, “The President is not happy about what is happening, but his insensitive advisers have deceived him into thinking this is not a serious issue, which they keep saying they can handle, but it has now festered to a level where it is difficult to take care of.”

The NEF chairman said it was unfortunate that despite the several threats made by the Fulani herdsmen after the antiopen grazing law came into effect, the government failed to take action.

He said, “Miyetti Allah threatened and said upon the implementation of the law, they would attack in January violently and force the withdrawal of the law. I don’t understand. It didn’t make sense at the time, but it means that perhaps the Miyetti Allah wanted to prove to the people and the government of Benue State that when they make a promise, they keep to it.”

Benue and Ekiti states had both enacted anti-open grazing laws to check the activities of herdsmen, while Ondo, Cross River, Ebonyi and Akwa Ibom states have also moved to have anti-open grazing laws to check the activities of the nomadic pastoralists.

However, the former Vice President said that although he is a Fulani, he was not a member of the Miyetti Allah.

Atiku stated this in his reaction to the allegations levelled against him by Unongo.

As shared on his facebook wall......

Christmas Package

This morning at about 8:00am, I graciously received a call from the Office of Secretary to the State Government that I should proceed for a Christmas package given by the governor to all political appointees to the governor.

I told the caller to extend my appreciation to the SSG and Governor but informed him that I left the services of the State since October, 2016 as SSA (Administration) back to my duty as Assistant Registrar in the University.

Curiously, in December 2016, I did not receive any package or salary since I last met with then SSG—Dr. Bem Melladu. It could be a mistake but it also shows how and why the wage bill keeps surging. I advised that the money be committed into clearing of workers salaries. How did my name appear on the Christmas Budget?

For the Christmas, The Lord has been good all the time. Last year, as a member of Jammie's Bam owned by Swandecoal's father, 60 cows were butchered and I got cow head and cow lap. Tomorrow, I hope to get again for this Chrismas. Therefore, I don't need to chop Chrismas from the magnanimity of misappropriation of public funds.

But I sincerely thank His Excellency and wish a Happy Christmas. Halleluia.

Goat logic

Honestly I might not key into this idea but some questions need to be answered with serious honesty. "Before Buhari came to power:
I was buying a bag of rice N7,500 but later N23,000. Now N16,000. They said its for my own good, that local farmers are now very rich!

I was buying a bag of Semo N1,550 but later N3400. They said it is just to ensure food sufficiency!

I was buying fuel at N87 per liter, but later N145. They said it is just a temporal hardship for the nation to move on!

I was paying 1,000 NEPA Bill, but later N5,000, they said it is to ensure steady electricity!

I was buying a pack of sugar at N250 but now N500. They said I should thank God for this government!

Sanusi raised alarm about missing $20 billion during GEJ administration, later reduced it to $10 billion, the nation was agog. Under Buhari Kachukwu raised alarm of misappropriation of $26 billion, no reduction but he was asked to go and reconcile with Baru and story ends!

Naira was 178 to $1 under GEJ administration ,but under Buhari administration it went up to N500 to $1 and now exchanging for over N306 to $1 and we are told the economy is the focus of this government!

HoS raised alarm that my president was aware of Maina's return but choses to be quiet, no denial, yet, no reason was given to Nigerians for that!

We used to have presidential media chat in which d president keeps citizens abreast with what's happening, we only had it once under this administration and no reason is given for the alienation of the citizens!

My president went to Abia and Anambra on two days working visit and no single inmate was freed, he went to Kano and 500 inmates were left off the hook!

Almost 3 years gone, no single project has been commissioned under a government that has the highest history of budget in Nigeria!

I can go on and on...but, my challenge is that, people keep saying that PMB is the best thing that ever happened to Nigeria, even when this is not his first time in government. I am yet to be convinced."

We will not use military force against Fulani herdsmen – FG

Published on June 6, 2016

By Seun Opejobi

The Federal Government has ruled out the use of military might to subdue the attacking force of rampaging Fulani herdsmen.
Minister of Interior, Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau, retd, while featuring on a Channels Television programme, “Question Times” on Sunday night said deployment of the military to combat the Fulani herdsmen menace was not an option because, the situation has not overwhelmed the police yet.

According to the Minister, “We must protect the country which is the main function of the police. The Civil Defence are there to complement them too.

“This is a non-military issue that borders on law and order. It is not every security issue that you call in the military. It is the responsibility of the police to maintain peace. I believe that if we put the police in proper position in terms of discharging its functions, then there would be no need for military option. The police are equal to the task. If you have to deploy the army, then you are going above board.

In any case, I do not even have the power to deploy the military for anything. It is only when the situation gets out of hand that you invite the military.”

Recall that Fulani herdsmen have in recent past attacked several villages across the country, killing scores of people.

Court Remands First Violator Of Benue Anti Open Grazing Law

BY HEMBADOON ORSAR, Makurdi

A Makurdi chief magistrate court presided over by Isaac Ajim, has remanded in prison custody, a herdsman Gambo Mohammed, for violating anti open grazing law, criminal conspiracy, causing grievous hurt, culpable homicide and illegal possession of firearms.

When the case came up, the prosecutor ASP Imo Edward, told the court that on the 2nd November, 2017 at about 0730hrs, the DPO Logo Division received a distress call from the unit commander, Police Mobile Force 13 Squadron, on special duty at Ayilamo that some Fulani herdsmen stormed Azege village shot and killed a 40 year fisherman Ortse Kwaghdoo and also shot one Mr Akaa Hingir, in the chest and he sustained serious injury.

According to him, during Police investigation, one Mallam Gambo Ibrahim Mohammad, was arrested and a locally made pistol was with 3 live ammunitions were recovered from him.

The prosecutor informed the court that Mallam Gambo committed an offence under section 97,248,222 of the Penal Code Law of Benue State and section 19(7) of the Anti Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law of Benue State 2017 punishable under section 3(1) of the robbery and firearms act.

No plea was taken for want of jurisdiction.

The chief magistrate ordered the accused to be reminded at the Makurdi Medium Prison and adjourned the case to February 9, 2018 for further mentioning.

It would be recalled that the Anti-open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law was signed by Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom, on the May 22nd, 2017 but went into effect on November 1st, 2017.

Mallam Gambo, who committed the offence on November 2, 2017 is the first offender since the law came into effect.

When contacted, the Attorney General and commissioner for Justice, Micheal Gusa said the law is made to protect both herdsmen and farmers and it would not spell anyone who breaks it.

He urged the public to report trespasses to security agencies and the Livestock Guards and warns against people taking laws into their hands.

Crime / FRSC Marshal Killed, Two Others Abducted by justiz5(m): 9:54pm On Nov 21, 2017
FRSC marshal killed, two others abducted

A convoy of FRSC Officials used to illustrate the story

The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has confirmed the killing of one of its marshals by suspected armed kidnappers on the Abuja-Kaduna highway.

Sources had earlier told the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, that the attack occurred on Tuesday at Sabo-Wuse Area on the Niger axis of the highway.

NAN learnt that the deceased was traveling in a commercial bus alongside other passengers when the hoodlums struck at about 6.30 a.m.

The Corps Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, who confirmed the official’s death to NAN, said two other marshals were abducted by the gunmen.

Mr. Kazeem identified the deceased as Ardo Njiga, a Marshal Inspector 1, and one of those kidnapped as Garba Bello, a Senior Road Marshal Assistant.

He said the identity of the third victim had yet to be ascertained as of the time he spoke to NAN.

“The marshals took permission to be with their families in Kaduna at the weekend, and were on their way back to Abuja when the attack took place this morning.

“Njiga was killed at the scene, while Garba and the third marshal were taken to an unknown destination alongside the other occupants of the bus.

“The matter is now with the security agencies, and it is our hope that our men are rescued and brought back to us alive,” Mr. Kazeem said.

Meanwhile, the Corps Marshal of the FRSC, Boboye Oyeyemi, has expressed sadness over the incident and commiserated with the families of the victims.

Mr. Kazeem quoted him as calling for calm among men and officers of the corps.

The latest incident came exactly two months after unidentified gunmen invaded the Tsafe Command of the FRSC in Zamfara, killing an official and abducting another.

Falconets Must Be Wary Of Tanzania - Danjuma

www.nairaland.com/attachments/5963843_edwinokon_jpeg64f45ca3ce712938eecc993d96189102

By Augustine Akhilomen

Nigeria's U-20 team coach, Christopher Danjuma has warned the team not to play to the gallery against Tanzania in Saturday's 2018 U-20 women's World Cup qualifier at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.

The team failed to cross the group stages of the last edition of the World Cup that was hosted in Papua New Guinea, however, Danjuma believes qualifying first remains the main priority of the team and they need to win well against Tanzania.

“We have players who participated in the last FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup and few others who are still within the age brackets from the last U-20 World Cup. I believe their experience coupled with the good training we have had in Abuja before coming to Benin City for Saturday’s match would
certainly give us the edge against Tanzania,” Danjuma told CAFOnline.com.

“We have told the girls how important it is for us to win very well on Saturday. The good thing is that Nigeria remains one of the strongest teams at this level and we hope to continue with the
same tradition of winning our matches come Saturday,” he affirmed.

Nigeria/Tanzania: Nigeria's Falconets Eye Revival Against Tanzania

After a shock first round exit at the last FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Papua New Guinea, Nigeria's Super Falconets will hope to bounce back in style starting with this weekend's First Round first leg of the France 2018 qualifier against Tanzania at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.

The Falconets failed to go past the group stage in Papua New Guinea despite their rich pedigree after finishing runners-up in 2010 and 2014, and also quarter finalists in 2004, 2006 and 2008, and the semi-finalists in 2012.

Head Coach Christopher Danjuma has inherited few players from the Nigeria U-17 squad that participated at the global championship in 2016 in Jordan. In the new-look Falconets are the like of Rasheedat Ajibade, Cynthia Aku, Oluwakemi Famuditi, Joy Duru; Gloria Ogbonna amongst others and Danjuma is equally confident they would add quality to his side.

"We have players who participated in the last FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup and few others who are still within the age brackets from the last U-20 World Cup. Nigeria: Falconets Arrive in Benin After 12-Hour Trip

By Alemma-Ozioruva Aliu and Fidelis Ebu

Benin City and Abuja — The national women U-20 football team, the Falconets arrived Benin on Tuesday night after a 12-hour tortuous journey from Abuja to the Edo State capital by road ahead of Saturday's U-20 World Cup qualifier against Tanzania. The match will hold at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium. The journey was said to have taken so long because of the dilapidated state of the Abuja to Benin road.

But even with the fatigue occasioned by the journey, the Edo State Government yesterday challenged the Falconets to beat their opponents in Saturday's march.

Speaking through the Commissioner for Youth and Special Duties, Mika Amanokhai, Governor Godwin Obaseki while welcoming the players and officials, said they should see Edo as their state and go for total victory against the Tanzanians on Saturday.

"We are indeed elated to receive you and want to urge you to see yourselves a part of us. Please feel very comfortable and at home during your stay here.

"Benin is a slaughter ground for all Nigerian national teams and thus, we are challenging you to go all out to secure victory for Nigerians.

"On Saturday, we expect nothing but victory and we must be at our best to defeat our opponents," he stated.

In their response, the players assured that nothing would be left to chance to emerge victorious on Saturday.

Speaking through the team captain, Oluwakemi Famuditi, the players said the warm reception accorded them since their arrival is a moral booster that will spur them to victory.

"We want to assure you sir and the entire country that come Saturday, we will not disappoint. We will beat our opponent to secure qualification for France in 2018," she stated.

The second leg would take place in Dar es Salaam on Sept. 30 September, with the winner, on aggregate, to tackle the winner of the Morocco/Senegal clash in the second round in November.

Meanwhile, the Tanzanians are expected to arrive in Abuja today by 1.00 p.m. today aboard an Ethiopian Airline flight. They are to leave for the Benin on an Arik Airline flight shortly after arrival at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.

Also expected in the country today are the match officials from the neighbouring Togo and the match commissioner from Liberia.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Director of Communications, Ademola Olajire said yesterday at the federation's secretariat that arrangements have been put in place to ensure the safety of the visiting Tanzanian players and officials as well as the match officials.

Olajire said nine of the Tanzanian delegation is the officials, while the rest 20 would be the players.

"We have received message from the Tanzanian Football Federation of the team's arrival in Abuja tomorrow and we have subsequently arranged for their immediate airlift to Benin City where the match would be played on Saturday", Olajire said yesterday.

Nigerian has played in every edition of the FIFA U20 Women World Cup since it was launched as an U-19 tournament in Canada 15 years ago.

The team reached the quarterfinals in Thailand 2004, Russia 2006 and Chile 2008, before finishing as runners-up at the 2010 finals in Germany and at the 2014 finals in Canada.

The Falconets reached the semifinals in Japan in 2012, but failed to reach the knockout stage in Papua New Guinea in 2016.

Edo Dep. Governor Trains with Falconets Ahead Clash with Tanzania

Philip Shaibu

Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, was in his elements as he went to the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium to train with Nigeria’s Women Under-20 national team, the Falconets wednesday evening.

Shaibu, who has been a major light in the saddle of Governor Godwin Obaseki, said he came to train with the team on the orders of Obaseki, who has promised that state matters permitting he will be physically present when the Falconets take on their Tanzania counterparts on Saturday.

Before the deputy governor’s training with the team, the Commissioner for Youths and Special Duties, Mican Aimonokhai, had visited the team and assured them that the Edo State government was all ready to take very good care of the national team ahead of the World Cup qualifier.

Also the duo of Edo FA Chairman, Frank Ilaboya and Nigeria Women’s League Chairman, Aisha Falode, say they have been mobilizing at all levels to ensure that the team win and win well the duel against Tanzania on Saturday. “The team is staying at Prestige Hotel in our capital city and they are enjoying the best of Edo hospitality”, Ilaboya declared.

Falode on her part, said despite her tight schedule with the Aieto Cup championship, her team was already on ground to ensure that the Falconets get all necessary support that will give them victory on Saturday in Benin City. “We have decided to do this job selflessly and here we are on the brink of another World Cup, coming to be done in my home state, all the support the team need will be provided on all fronts and I have been assured by Governor Obaseki”, Falode stated.

The Tanzania U20 side is expected in the country today and all logistics have also been provided for the team to ensure their easy stay and the usual Nigerian hospitality during their stay in the country.

Nigeria U20s Having A Torrid Time: Four Per Room, Served 'School Pupils' Meals

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands Nigeria Women's U20 team, the Falconets, are having a torrid time ahead of their 2018 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Tanzania this weekend.

The Falconets, who arrived in Benin City late on Tuesday night from Abuja by road, were paired four players per hotel room yesterday, and the officials were paired two per room.

That accommodation arrangement was unsatisfactory and the teenage girls had to be reshuffled to two persons per room when they complained bitterly on Wednesday.

Another sticky point is that the Commissioner of Sports Edo State instructed the hotel staff at Prestige Hotel and Suites that they must collect money on the spot from the players who are not satisfied and demand for extra food, despite the 'school pupil' meals being served.

The Nigeria Football Federation have been blamed for the way these female players are being treated as this is not at par with the male players when they are on national team duties.

Nigeria will face Tanzania at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Saturday while the second leg is scheduled to take place in Dar es Salaam on September 30.

The Nigerian side play hosts on Saturday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium Benin City. The return leg is scheduled to hold on September 30 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania to conclude the first round fixtures of the Africa qualifiers.

“My best wishes to the team. It’s a home game. They have to win it and win well,” Ebi told Completesportsnigeria.com.

“In women’s football, Nigeria still lead in Africa, but other countries are developing at a great speed. So the team must take the Tanzanians seriously.

“Super Falcons have not played any match this year, so I hope they (Falconets) will make us proud. The Falconets have good players and I expect victory come Saturday, ” Ebi concluded.

Nigeria have participated at eight FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup tournaments, coming second at Germany 2010 and Canada 2014.

Falconets will face Morocco or Senegal on the weekend of November 3-5 and the return leg in the weekend of November 17-19 if they beat Tanzania over two legs.

Dar es Salaam. Nigeria’s U-20 national women’s soccer team coach, Christopher Danjuma, has unveiled a 30-member provisional squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Tanzania.

The Tanzanite, as the national women’s youth team is popularly, are now undergoing intensive training Chamazi Complex on the outskirts of the city ahead of the qualifier set for September 16 in Abuja, Nigeria.

Reports from Abuja had it yesterday that Danjuma, who took charge of the Nigeria team, Falcons, last month, is assisted by Wemimo Matthew, Mansur Abdullahi and Abdul-lateef Yusuf.

According to fixtures released by the Confederation of African Football (Caf), two–time FIFA World Cup silver medalists Falconets will take on The Tanzanite on the weekend of 15-17 September, with the return leg in Dar es Salaam two weeks later.

The winners over both legs will then confront the winners of a fixture pairing Morocco against Senegal in November, before a final round of qualifying matches in January, next year.

The Falconets have played in every edition of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, since it was launched as an U19 tournament in Canada 15 years ago.

The team reached the quarter finals in Thailand 2004, Russia 2006 and Chile 2008, before finishing as runners –up at the 2010 finals in Germany and at the 2014 finals in Canada.

They reached the semi-finals in Japan in 2012, but failed to reach the knockout stage in Papua New Guinea last year.

The Tanzanite head coach, Sebastian Nkoma, admitted yesterday that Falcons are among the most feared women’s youth outfits in Africa, but remained optimistic that the September 16 clash will produce positive results for his side.

Nkoma says he optimistic his team can upset the formbook in the Nigerian capital and beat the hosts.

He said his players were aware that The Falcons will have home advantage and that they will be seeking a home win so as to have one foot in the next stage of the qualifiers.

“It is a match we must win to remain in contention for a place in next year’s FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup finals,” he said.

“I just want the entire nation to focus on the game. It is a winnable game, we have what it takes to shine in Abuja,” he insisted confidently.

Players making up the Falcons squad include Monle Omini (Abia Angels), Tola Adeniyi (Sunshine Queens), Chioma Okoye (Sa’adatu Amazons), Nelly Ekeh (Pelican Stars), Blessing Ezekiel (Rivers Angels), Margaret Etim (Delta Queens), Oluwakemi Famuditi (Confluence Queens), Gloria Ogbonna (Ibom Angels), Joy Duru (Nasarawa Amazons) and Feyintola Mabokanje (FC Robo Queens).

Health / Some Disgusting Things We Do In The Public That Seem Normal, But Not. by justiz5(m): 11:12am On Aug 25, 2017
SOME DISGUSTING THINGS WE ALL DO THAT SEEM NORMAL, BUT ARE NOT.

1. Picking your nose.
2. Scratching your genitals around people.
3. Popping pimples.
4. Not washing your hands with soap after peeing.
5. Farting in front of people and then trying to act like it doesn’t smell.
6. Using the same towel for over two weeks.
7. Get so close to your pets that you end up sleeping with that cat or dog. This is nasty.
8. Peeing a little on your panties but staying with it till the next day.
9. Not showering because you are not leaving the house.
10. Talking with your mouth full.
11. Checking the toilet paper after pooping.
12. Just think about it, your bed is super disgusting. You do the nasty in there, sleep in there with your dirty clothes.
13. Peeing in the swimming pool.
14. Burping out loud, yes it is natural but surely we don’t need to hear that.
15. Using the phone when in the toilet is definitely unsanitary.
16. Peeing while showering.

Don't even pretend you are not guilty, just repent! Goodmorning this morning.
