The Dunamis International Gospel Centre, on Tuesday distanced itself from an online Ponzi scheme called “Dunamis Investment Platform.”

The church, under the leadership of Dr. Pastor Paul and Dr. Mrs. Becky Paul-Enenche, declared that the ministry does not operate a Ponzi scheme, stressing that such was a “scam.”

This warning was contained in a statement signed by Pastor Victor Stephen, Head, Central Admin of the church on Tuesday.

The statement urged Nigerians against transacting any business with such platform because its owners are fraudsters.

It further warned that anyone caught in the act would be made to face the full wrath of the law.

The statement reads: “Our attention has been drawn to an online Ponzi scheme known as “Dunamis Investment Platform” where individuals are asked to invest a certain amount and get back double their investment within a few hours. THIS IS A SCAM!!!

“The general public is hereby notified that Dunamis International Gospel Centre does not run any Ponzi scheme either online or offline.

“The platform is apparently owned by fraudsters who are out to defraud people.

“Therefore, the general public is hereby warned not to transact any business with them as they are fraudsters who are out to defraud people of their hard-earned money.

“Report anyone involved in such act to the nearest police station.

“Finally anyone caught in this evil act will be made to face full wrath of the law. Blessings!!!”

The Ondo State Police Command has described the 'sudden death' of over thirty cattle in the state as "natural disaster".

The police also debunked reports making the rounds that they may have been poisoned by rural farmers.

A strange thunder caused apprehension at Ijare community in Ifedore Local Government Area of the state after striking the cows to death.

Some herdsmen were said to have climbed to the top of Oke-Owa hill in the community to graze their cows when lightning struck the herds to death.

The hill, according to reports, is a sacred place where the king of the community performs some rituals annually.

An online newspaper quoted sources in the community as saying the incident was the wrath of their gods on the herdsmen.

The source quoted the sources as saying that the gods were angry because herdsmen desecrated the sacred land.

The herdsmen were said to have been warned against grazing on the sacred mountain by the community’s chiefs, but that they were adamant.

Reacting, High Chief Wemimo Olaniran, the Sapetu of Ijare kingdom, said the incident was not strange to the community.

Olaniran said similar events had happened to people who desecrated the sacred mountain in the past.

But the spokesperson of the State Police Command, SP Femi Joseph, in a short text message, described the incident as a natural disaster.

Learn from my mistake! Fashanu wants Abraham to choose Nigeria

By Akeem Lawal

Former England international, John Fashanu has advised Chelsea forward, Tammy Abraham to consider playing for Nigeria instead of England, Sportinglife.ng reports.

Despite representing England at youth level and having featured for the senior team in a non-competitive game, the 21-year-old Premier League top scorer is yet to fully decide where his allegiance lies as far as his international career is concerned.

While sharing his experience with the English national team with TVC News, the former Wimbledon and Aston Villa striker who was in similar position many years ago and was capped twice by England in 1989, said the Chelsea forward should learn from his mistakes.

“When I got to Nigeria myself and I came three times, I realized that Nigeria football and English football are completely different. Nigerian football was taken from the Brazilians but football in England is rough, bullish and aggressive, completely different. That was many years ago.

Former England international John Fashanu.

“I realized that I could not play the Nigerian football. I was happy that as a black Nigerian, I would be able to break into the English national team. Possibly one of the best and biggest country in the world certainly then it was wonderful. To play with Paul Gascoigne, Peter Shilton, they were legends.

“So I say to Tammy, think very well. When I went to play for England I could have played 100 games for the Super Eagles. But I got to play only two games for England.

Understand that if you are going to play for England, you are going to play four or five matches only because competition is stiff.

Politics / Share Your INEC Continuous Voter Registration Experience. by justiz5(m): 10:33pm On Feb 03, 2018
Share your experience about the INEC continuous Voter registration exercise in your area.

You can snap pictures of the events in your locality for us to follow.

Note: Pictures will show whether those who are not eligible are also participating in the exercise or not.

Let's expose if there is any fraud in the process!!!

Lastly encourage others to participate fully. It's your right.

NATIONWIDE CONTINUOUS VOTER REGISTRATION EXERCISE.

INEC COMMENCES THE YEAR ROUND NATIONWIDE CONTINUOUS VOTER REGISTRATION (CVR) AND PERMANENT VOTER CARD (PVC) DISTRIBUTION EXERCISE

INTRODUCTION:
Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) is an exercise meant for the registration of citizens who turned 18 years of age after the last registration exercise; or those who for one reason or another could not register in the previous exercises.

The 2010 Electoral Act (as amended) mandates the Commission to carry out CVR nationwide and to make available to every political party within 60 days. After each year, the names of the addresses of each person registered during that year.

In pursuance of this requirement, the Commission has developed the modality for the conduct of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise nationwide.

The date for the commencement for the CVR exercise is Thursday, 27th April, 2017 at the INEC Local Government offices nationwide and remains continuous all year round.

CVR CENTRES: The Continuous Voter Registration shall be carried out in the Local Government Area offices or at such other locations within the Local Government Areas as may be designated by the Commission. The list of such centres for the CVR Exercise shall be publicized in the Local Government Areas.

HOURS OF CVR: The Continuous Voter Registration exercise will take place at the INEC Local Government offices and designated centres between the hours of 9.00am and 3.00pm daily, Mondays to Fridays, excluding public holidays.

DISPLAY OF PRELIMINARY REGISTER OF VOTERS (PRV): The Preliminary Register of Voters (PRV) shall be displayed for public scrutiny at registration Centres at the end of every quarter before printing of PVCs. The Registration Area Officers (RAOs) will print the list of registered voters for the quarter and display same at the Registration Centres for 7 days. The Register shall be clearly marked Preliminary Register of Voters.

The Commission has approved the redistribution of equipment for smooth kick off of the CVR Exercise and on the first day of the exercise, the Hon Chairman will flag-off the exercise in the FCT while the National Commissioner will flag-off the exercise at their various zones.

The main activities for the Nationwide CVR are:

Fresh Registration
Transfer of Voters
Distribution of Permanent Voters Card (PVCs)
ELIGIBILITY FOR CVR

To be Eligible for CVR, a person:
Must be a citizen of Nigeria
Must have attained the age of 18 years, on or before the registration day.

Is above 18 years and could not register in any of the previous registration exercise.

Is resident, works in, or originate from the LGA/Area Council or RA/Ward covered by the Registration Area Centre.

Not subject to any legal incapacity to vote under any law, rules or regulations in force in Nigeria
Must present him/her self to the CVR officers for registration and is able to provide proof of identity, age and nationality, if requested;

Has registered before but his/her name/photograph/fingerprints were not captured; such a person must provide his/her Temporary Voters Card (TVC)
Has PVC or TVC but names not on Register of Voters.

CVR GUIDING PRINCIPLES
The registration process is based on the following:
CVR is done in person and not by proxy: Anyone who wishes to register must appear in person at the CVR Centre of registration. There is no registration by proxy.

Multiple registrations is not allowed: A Voter can only register in one registration Centre, if the voter resides in more than one constituency, he/she must choose only one location to register to avoid double registration, which is an offence punishable by law.
Registration is a pre-requisite for voting in elections: Registration is a pre-requisite for exercising the right to vote. Those who don’t have PVCs and whose names are not in the Register of Voters will not be allowed to vote on the Election Day.

CVR is inclusive: Voting is a constitutional right for all eligible citizens. The Register of Voters must include as many eligible citizens as possible and registration centres must be accessible to all qualified persons.

Registration is conducted in the INEC Local Government Offices or in public in order to be accessible to accredited National and International Observers, Party Agents as well as representatives of Media Organizations

There are INEC officers who undertake the supervision of the CVR exercise. They include:

Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC);
Administrative Secretary (AS);
Electoral Officers (EO);
Assistant Electoral Officer (AEO);
Registration Area Officer I (RAO I);
Registration Area Officer II (RAO II);
Registration Area III (RAO III);
Registration Area Officer IV (RAO IV);
Distribution Officer (DO);

The CVR Officials play very important role in the electoral process. The manner in which they discharge their duties will affect the confidence of the citizens in the electoral process and the electoral authority. They are expected to be courteous, polite, helpful at all times, treat all persons equally and with respect. All their actions and activities should be characterized by the highest professional standards including:

Integrity
Impartiality
Transparency
Fairness
Professionalism
Gender sensitivity
Priority and support to vulnerable Groups including the aged, infirm, pregnant women and nursing mothers.

Temporary Voters Card (TVCs) will be issued to registrants at the point of registration, while the PVCs of those registered in Quarter 1 (Q1) should be ready for collection in Quarter 3 (Q3), and Quarter 2 (Q2) will be ready in Quarter 4 (Q4) etc.

The last week of each quarter will be for display, hearing the Claims and Objections and housekeeping (Data backup, Consolidation, Reporting etc).

The Preliminary Register of Voters (PRV) shall be displayed for scrutiny at Registration centres at the end of every quarter before printing of PVCs. The RAOs will print the list of registered voters for the quarter and display same at Registration Centres for 7 days. The Register shall be clearly marked Preliminary Register of Voters.

TRANSFER OF VOTERS
Every Nigerian has the right to live in any part of the Country. An important part of Voter Registration is that an eligible person is advised to register at the centre nearest to his/her residence. This is to make it easy for the voter to access the Polling Unit (PU) and vote on Election Day. Meanwhile a person who has relocated to another place outside the unit in which he/she registered cannot vote in his/her new location unless he/she transfers his/her registration.

http://www.inecnigeria.org/?inecnews=nationwide-continuous-voter-registration-exercise

Let's encourage our people to go out aggressively to obtain their PVCs against 2019.

I urge parents, guardians, teaches, pastors, to enlighten their members/followers on the need to make this a must.

Don't be foolish, for it's your right to exercise your right.

Fani-Kayode Reacts After Tiv DPO Is Interrogated Over Killing Of Fulanis In Gboko.

by Thandiubani

A former Minister of Aviation has taken to his social media handle to wonder why a police DPO of Tiv extraction was whisked to Abuja following the death of some Fulanis.

Femi Fani-Kayode

Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation Minister has reacted after the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, of Tiv extraction was summoned and interrorgated in Abuja over the killing of some Fulanis.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chieftain accused the Federal Government of addressing the issue of killings in the country for too long in a selective manner.
Read what he wrote below:

"Thousands are slaughtered by Fulani terrorists yet Buhari has refused to arrest even one of the killers.

7 Fulani are killed in Benue and not only are dozens of Tiv youth arrested the next day but the Tiv DPO is summoned to Abuja and accused of helping his people to kill Fulanis!"

Crime / Benue Belongs To Fulani Herdsmen By Right Of Conquest – Prof Muhammad by justiz5(m): 12:54pm On Jan 18, 2018
Benue belongs to Fulani herdsmen by right of conquest – Prof Muhammad

Seun Opejobi

Professor Umar Labdo Muhammad of the Faculty of Humanities, Northwest University, Kano has alleged that Benue State belongs to the Fulani by right of conquest.

The University Don predicated his claim on the fact that half of Benue State is part of the Bauchi Emirate and also half of the Adamawa Emirate.

In a post on his Facebook, Muhammad stressed that by extension, Benue is “part and parcel of Sokoto Caliphate” as such nobody has the right to expel Fulani from the state.

Muhammad also stated that Fulani are the largest single nation in the African continent and they have “remained unbeatable throughout their history.”

The post reads, “Benue State belongs to the Fulani people by right of conquest. This is because half of the state is part of the Bauchi Emirate and the other half is part of the Adamawa Emirate. Benue is therefore part and parcel of the Sokoto Caliphate. So no one has the right to expel the Fulani from Benue under any guise.

“Second to the Arabs, perhaps the Fulani are the most benevolent and merciful conquerors in history. If they had applied the Nazi final solution to the natives, or if they had treated them the same way the European settlers treated Red Indians in North America or the Aborigines in Australia, the story would have been different toady.

“The Fulani are the largest single nation in West Africa and, perhaps, on the whole continent and they have remained unbeatable throughout their history.

“You can hate the Fulani, you can call them all sort of names, you can blackmail their spineless political leaders, you can conspire to wipe out the entire Fulani leadership in a single day, you can stage a coup and “orkarize” (excise) the core Fulani states from Nigeria, you can hate them to he’ll, but you can never beat them.

“Fulani’s main problem remains their meek, spineless, incompetent leaders that have lost all sense of responsibility and abandoned their people. But this problem, thank God, is not insurmountable.

“The Fulani are capable of changing their leaders: traditional, political, religious and cultural (I mean by cultural those so-called Fulani socio-cultural organizations that eat fat on the Fulani but cannot champion their cause or defend their rights). They have done this in the past and are capable of doing it again.”
