Written by Ukeyima John UKmoni. The way Fearless Energy Drink have ignored this young man Emmi Wuks cycling from Benue to meet Davido in Lagos and advertising them on his way is very irritating. Of all brands, this guy picked fearless and has been advertising, promoting and telling people that fearless is the only fuel he is taking at every step of his journey even more than their own ambassadors. Of all the people and influencers posting and tagging fearless as you can see in one of my posts here with 500 shares, fearless can not claim that they don't see this. Is it because the guy is from a poor background that his efforts are undermined this much by fearless? Is it because he is a different tribe that fearless has decided to look down on his efforts this much? Now let me tell you, the real people that drink fearless are poor people like we and this guy riding a bike here and promoting fearless. For the promotion that they pay people to give them without even getting half of what this guy is giving them. Emmy is doing it for free and not even a thank you?? You disgust me. If the whole Davido who is very busy on a tour outside this country can take his time and reply this guy two times, fearless has no moral justification for ignoring him despite all the people tagging and mentioning them. Rich guys deh drink Martell and the rest. Na we poor people deh drink fearless. Since fearless has decided to ignore someone showing love because of his poor background, I am going to remove everything fearless from my fridge today. Nothing will make me drink fearless again. You suck. I am also advising my brothers from Benue to stop drinking fearless. Let them take their ungrateful and class conscious behavior somewhere else. The late Man of God was elected the second Executive Governor of Benue State on 2nd January, 1992 under the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP). During his stay in office, He founded the Benue State University Makurdi on 27th December, 1992. He reactivated and upgraded the College of Education Oju. He conceived the concept of the Tarka Foundation, named after Senator Joseph Sarwuan Tarka and launched on 2nd July, 1992. The fondation’s building occupies five hectares of land in Makurdi and includes an art gallery, conference rooms, recreational centers and chalets. Other projects executed by the then governor include BENCO roof tile, and the Katsina Ala fruit juice company; however some of the projects remained abandoned owing to his short stay in office. Adasu was removed from office when General Sani Abacha came to power in November, 1993. Now just imagining what he was able to achieve between January 2nd, 1992 to November, 1993 when the military government of Sani Abacha took over. |

WHY TRANSPORTATION TO OUR VILLAGE HAVE INCREASED BECAUSE OF ILLEGAL TAXES FROM THE POLICE AND THE MILITARY It is no news lately that transportation fair from makurdi to our villages (LG) has increased by over 100% and this is due to some illegal taxation demanded by men of the Nigeria Police Force and that of the Nigeria Army who have stood guard to protect us, rather turned around to milk drivers who have no choice but to hinge the burden on innocent travelers with hike in transportation in the last years. For example, from Ushongo LG to Jootar you have about 40 check points and each demanding N500 per vehicle while the army collects N1000/N2000 each from truck drivers and N200 for small cars. In the far north where insecurity has been on the rise and daily, Yola to Gombe you have 4 check points, Gombe to Bauchi you have 2 check points and from Bauchi to Akwanga you have another 2 check points respectively. The government will need to look into this ugly trend carried out by our very own trusted security men who should ordinarily stamp their feet against this nonsense but have rather joined in to make life unbearable for us all. Life has been difficult lately for all and if this trend is allowed to continue, some day the worse will just happen and this should be avoided at all cost. DPO, 2 Policemen, five women, children killed in fresh herders attacks on Benue communities By Peter Duru, Makurdi The Divisional Police Officers, DPO, in charge of Gwer West Local Government Area, LGA, of Benue State, Mr Mamud Abubakar, two police personnel, two children and three women have been reportedly killed in separate attacks on Benue communities by suspected armed herdsmen. It was gathered from a source in Naka, the Gwer West Headquarters, who spoke on condition of anonymity that the murdered DPO and the two other police personnel were ambushed and killed Tuesday afternoon on Makurdi-Naka road shortly after alerting the military personnel on a checkpoint on the road of the presence of a large number of armed herdsmen on the axis and their intension to attack the communities in Gwer West. According to the source, “after alerting the military personnel of the presence of a large number of armed herdsmen on that stretch of road, the military personnel were mobilising to move into the area while the DPO who was accompanied by two other policemen moved ahead slowly. But unknown to them, the armed herders had already moved close to a particular spot at Imande community near a bridge where women sell roasted yam to travellers on the road. They shot and killed the three of them and a farmer who was at the time returning from the farm. “As we speak the people on that axis have all deserted their homes. Though before now many had packed away from their ancestral homes when it was noticed that armed herdsmen were moving in droves into communities on that axis.” Meanwhile the attack on the Makurdi-Naka road came after a similar attack on Udei and Torkula villages in Guma LGA claimed the lives of two children and three women. It was gathered from sources in the area that the two children aged between 10 and 13 were murdered by the marauders who stormed Udei at about 9pm on Monday while the three women were killed by the marauders in Torkula village at about the same time. “They came shooting sporadically in Udei vllage around 9pm; the people scampered but unfortunately two children were gunned down by the terrorists. “While that attack was going on, another group almost simultaneously invaded Torkula village where three women were also murdered. THE BENUE YOUTH FORUM DEMAND PUBLIC APOLOGY FROM IGP USMAN OVER CARELESS REMARKS AGAINST TIV PEOPLE  Police IG Alkali Baba Usman The Benue Youth Forum, BYF has read with utter disappointment, a statement in the Nation Newspaper of August 10, 2022 credited to the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali where he openly disparaged the entire Tiv nation over the misbehaviour of an individual. The IGP had in a parley with officers and men of the Nigerian Police in Gombe State made those demeaning remarks that were clearly disrespectful to the Tiv nation. He was explaining why the Police high command recently sacked three Police men, among them an Inspector of Police of Tiv origin who was serving in the Kogi State Command for various misdemeanors inimical to the image of the force and at different locations. It is curious that IGP Alkali mentioned the Tiv twice in two sentences without any mention of the tribes or ethnicity of the other two Police men that were also dismissed for unprofessional conduct. For the number one Police officer in the country to make comments like "one Tiv man" and "look at how he was dressed like a Tiv warrior" while referring to the dismissed Police Inspector is tantamount to hatred and ethnic profiling which shouldn't be coming from someone who is expected to be neutral at all times. Many Police officers and men from different tribes have been found wanting in the discharge of their duties but at no time did their ethnic groups so disparaged. A recent case in point is the allegations against DCP Abba Kyari and his colleagues who are currently standing trial for drug related offences. Their tribes has not been an issue. Why the Benue Youth Forum will not support any act of criminality by any officer of the state as exhibited by the inglorious action of the dismissed Police Inspector which eventually cost him his job, we, on behalf of the entire Tiv nation, takes exception to that blatant insult and overt spewing of vile towards the Tiv nation by the Inspector General of Police. We therefore condemn in totality, the attempt by the IGP to disparage the Tiv people and portray them in bad light. Such remarks coming from a man who has always stressed the need for people to avoid ethnic profiling of criminals shows that there is much to be desired from him if he must be seen as a professional himself. We therefore demand an immediate withdrawal of the careless comments from IGP Usman and public apology to the Tiv nation who have been insulted by that infamous outing in Gombe. The BYF has utmost repect for constituted authorities and government institutions; and we expect them to be in the forefront of uniting the nation, rather than making divisive comments or taking actions capable of creating mistrust among the people.
