I don’t know about it being compulsory, but I tried to withhold my BMLS degree certificate on purpose, so I could reduce the verification duration, but I was asked by the interviewer if I had a degree. So there’s a possibility that she’ll be asked if she has any certificate from a tertiary institution.

Let her collect it if she can. Else, she may be told to bring it when she has it. That can delay the process.
Thank you so much, Ameenahhh🙏

Everything you need to know is right here: https://nisig.de/. There's an email attached for NISIG-GERMANY (Our parents organization). Email for NiSiG-HH is info.nisighamburg@gmail.com. you can also quote this moniker, again, you have to be coming or in Hamburg.
Hi, it seems no one is monitoring the association email. I also sent you a mail but no response, too 🤔

Please how compulsory are educational certificates for for family reunion visa?

My wife has HND but she is yet to collect the certificate. She only has WAEC. Since she is not going for study purposes, Is it compulsory she submit higher level certificate?

Please how much did you pay for the prepaid envelope? I don't want to be exploited/cheated.
It depends on your location (how far/close you are to Lagos).

Wunme:
Hello All,
Thought to share my update here as I’ve benefited from others here as well.
7/7/2022: My spouse(Blue Card)and I(Family Reunion) applied for an appointment/interview together. My Husband got a date immediately while I didn’t.
28/9/2022: My spouse arrived Germany on a blue card visa.
24/10/2022: My spouse wrote the German embassy in Nigeria on my behalf to appeal the 14 month waiting period for an appointment on health concerns. We waited this long so my spouse could attach exit and entry visa stamps in the email just so they know we’re no longer together in Nigeria.
25/10/2022: Embassy responded to the email saying the “embassy no longer grants priority appointments to spouses and children of researchers, blue card holders, scholars, students e.t.c
We were sad to say the least but decided to try again at a later time.
15/11/2022: My spouse reached out to the embassy again on my behalf on health grounds and they responded almost immediately with the same response as before. We were determined to try again, still.
16/11/2022: To my utter amazement, I got an appointment email from the embassy. This was after they rejected our previous appeal barely 24 hours earlier. They even gave me a date less than 2 weeks from when they responded.
29/11/2022: Went for my family reunion interview at the embassy. No hassles. Went with all my documents except 1 as my spouse was yet to get a blue card in Germany. The interviewer said my visa may take a while as I didn’t have my spouse’s blue card at the time but requested I send it once we get it.
16/12/2022: Sent my spouse’s Fiktionsbescheinigung to the embassy.
The rest of December: Waited with bated breath with no response from the embassy. Called their lines in Lagos to no avail. Was only told to wait.
18/01/2023: Got a mail from the embassy requesting my travel date.
19/01/2023: Submitted my travel documents to the embassy.
25/01/2023: Received my stamped passport.
8/02/2023: Arrived Germany.
In all, i was only separated from my spouse for 4 months as against the standard long waiting period.
Thanks to everyone who responded to my enquiries here. It’s a journey that requires a lot of patience indeed.
Congratulations, this is really encouraging and your persistence is challenging!

Hopefully, my spouse will not have to wait for more than 4 months, too🙏

Congratulations!

If you're staying for that long, it's better you get a one-way ticket. There is really no point in booking a return, unless you're sure you'd be returning at some time for vacation, for example.

Also, if you're arriving in Nurnberg, I'd advise you to check Turkish Airlines for a cheaper ticket, especially with the student discount. If you're arriving in Frankfurt or Munich, I'd recommend Ethiopian for a cheaper ticket. Qatar seems cheap too.
Thank you.
The cheapest I have found was with Turkish Airlines but the problem is that I have to pay with dollar card, which I don't have.

I have asked my fellowship body to book it for me.

Do you know when you are coming back?

You have a long stay visa, >6 months.
But what is the range for your purpose of travel? 6 months? 1 year ?
It will be safe if you are not certain otherwise, purchase a return ticket and insure it with about 15 euros for flexibility of travel date.
I plan to return in June 2025.
Most return tickets are within 12 months. Do you think with the insurance I will be able to extend it till then?

Search using lastminute.de and Google flight search. You should book for a one way or book a 2 way flight with insurance for flexible flight dates change.
Hello!
I was told after applying for residence permit in Germany, I will be issued with the appropriate number of years I intend spending. But now that I only have six months on the visa, is it really safe to book a one-way ticket?

How will you get your passport? Were you asked to pay for DHL or it's pick up?
Hi, I guess this may be of help as you prepare for your appointment. Ensure you go with the following essential documents in addition to other required ones:

1. Hosting agreement. This is different from the award letter. You can download it and send to your host to fill, sign and stamp

2. If you will be participating in language training, print out the email information indicating your stipend details during the period.

Good luck!

Your booking and appointment dates are quite wide apart! Mine was just three days. Maybe mine was so fast because my departure date is fast approaching. My language training starts on March 6 and I should be there some days earlier.

I have my passport with me already. Yes, I paid for DHL. It appears the option of pick up is not available.

How do you guys book pocket-friendly flight to Germany? The quotes from Lufthansa are really expensive!

The fee is 30k in naira?

Fingers crossed for you too...I hope you get a response in good time.
When did you book your appointment? I got mine within three days. Have you checked your spam folder?

The security guys asked all the applicants if they were with up to 35k so I guess the visa fee shouldn't be more than that in naira.

I already got a favorable response! I have my visa approved now.

I really enjoyed 'super-fast' express service. I received my passport today with the visa. The visa was approved yesterday meaning it only took 2 days!

Great, were you asked to present your visa fee before going into the building?

I'm yet to get an appointment date though.
Well, not really.
The security guys were the ones trying to cause confusion. They said I must have the amount with me even if it will eventually be returned because I already told them I was on scholarship.

Actually, I tried to go with the amount but the lack of new notes couldn't allow. When they told me I must have the cash with me, I tried to get 30k from POS but the guys said he was going to deduct 10k as his charges!

I just went back to the Embassy to see how things would play out and fortunately, I was eventually allowed in. However, another guy who wasn't with the cash was turned back in my presence although I'm not sure what he was applying for and if he has any scholarship.

Hello!
Just a little updates on my application.
My appointment was 9 am but I arrived much earlier, was attended to and I submitted before 8:30. I went there early because I wanted to return to my base same day.

I already arranged my documents as advised, so I had no challenge with that.

I was however exempted from visa fees and interviews.

The only challenge was the birth certificate. I presented NPC age attestation but the lady who attended to be said age declaration deposed to by the head of family is the acceptable one!

Actually I thought they are the same because the NPC is also a form of age declaration but she later accepted it and said she would allow her boss to decide if my NPC birth is fine.

Please, does anyone know how soon I can expect their decision since I plan to travel in first week or March?

I just find it annoying when a bloke can comfortably come in here to ask questions after getting an appointment knowing fully well that he/she won't even care to share with the group if they had everything covered without having to collect information from the group.

Y'all should do better. Sometimes I can't help but think that majority of Nigerians deserve the current Nigeria.
The reason I'm icked about this is because of the fact that I know I can't be that shameless to want to collect without giving anything.
I just saw the above post.
Well, it may not be specifically addressed to anyone but you are apparently going overboard. What's the problem? This is a free platform for everyone to FREELY share his/her mind. No one signed an agreement let alone a covenant to post any information here. Whatever anyone decides to do is purely his choice, including anyone's decision to respond to inquiries undecided

It is good and of course, encouraged that people give back as much as possible but unfortunately, your unwarranted outburst will not bring the intended change. Yes, many may be here to make inquiries but everyone is not a kid that you can talk to anyhow. How dare you say someone is a bloke grin grin grin. In your mind, the word bloke is an insult, right?

Calm down! what will be will be. Those who will respond will respond and those who will not respond will not respond. A better idea is to keep encouraging people to post useful information.

Why are you guys like this for God sake

You will get an appointment, instead of doing the bare minimum by notifying the group so that others who haven't gotten can track theirs, you will rather keep it to yourself except you have an issue or questions.

You and you likes in this forum likes taking without giving. It's the people that responds to your questions I blame. Because if you were ignored, it might have helped you grasp the concept of sharing to receive.

Hello!
I discover that the German application checklist doesn't include itinerary (flight ticket), account statement/payslip, yellow fever card, proof of accommodation etc as often request for other visa applications or are these expected to be provided as supplementary information?

Even health insurance wasn't listed but from the information on this platform, I got to know it will still be requested for.

My appointment is next week and I don't want to leave any vital document behind.

Thanks in anticipation of your input.

For the last time. A native speaker of a language is a person who has acquired that language inadvertently from birth as their FIRST language. If your argument is that not every Nigerian is a native English speaker you'd be correct however an overwhelmingly large proportion of Nigerians (especially of the younger generation) are native English speakers. And again, I'm not referring to heritage language or tribal language because they are not the same thing. The word mother tongue is a direct translation of the German word "Muttersprache" and both words mean the first language you learn as a child. If he learnt English as a first language he qualifies as a native speaker of English, that's the end of that.
It's good you are gradually admitting that Nigeria or Nigerians are not native speakers and you are shifting from the initial argument. Your definition is correct but on the broader sense your argument is a bit faulty because being a native speaker, and in the context being discussed cannot be defined in isolation or based on individuals. It has to be based on your citizenship.

In this context of a student seeking an admission, being native speaker or having English Language as your mother tongue means the language is well spoken by everyone in your home country. How many Nigerians speak in English Language, I mean as the main medium of communication?

Although you admitted that more of the younger generation now speaks more in English Language but I also see that as an error of hasty generalization because the "younger generation" is not defined. Up to 30 years or under 10 years? So, concluding that "overwhelmingly large proportions of Nigerians are native speakers" may also be incorrect!

Most people who speak in English and assuming we are using your definition of native speakers, are the children of elites or those whose parents can afford good private schools.

The rest and I'm my own opinion, who are the majority can only communicate in English and cannot be described as native speakers!

How many Nigerians can understand what is being said when the real native speakers talk? It's not only being able to speak it; can you understand the real native speakers? This doesn't mean he cannot get an exemption for his admission but claiming to be a native speaker may be far from being true.

So, the conclusion is still that Nigeria may be an English speaking country but NOT a native speaker!

A mother tongue/native language is the first language you learn to speak. If the first language he learnt to speak was English then English is in fact his mother tongue. There's no need for this jest.
Well, this has been thoroughly addressed so no need to continue unnecessary discussion and repititons.

Summary: Nigeria may be an English speaking country but NOT a native speaker.

Even though everywhere was silent, I was pouring out and vibrating with full force. I couldn't contain it even when I tried to suppress it.

Just stop arguing what you know nothing about.
Exactly, he doesn't have this experience. If only he could humble himself and ask God for this joy!

What you described, I have experienced numerous times back before I came to know God. It is no different from the experience of some of those who frequent nightclubs, strip clubs, and rock shows. It is all induced by brain chemicals and this explains why it does not last very long. Right after the show, you find yourselves back down from the high either seeking or looking forward to the next time when you can have such an experience again. undecided

The joy, peace, and gladness God gives are not that brain-chemical-induced kind. So telling people that is a slap in the face of God. undecided
If what you have now is still what you have or have experienced when you didn't know God, maybe and just maybe your haven't discovered this God. Maybe what you have is just knowledge! Why don't you go back to God.

God ministers to people through their emotions! Your experience to the contrary does not and cannot invalidate that!

What you are experiencing is probably happiness. Why don't you ask God to fill you with his joy? I seriously recommend you do that before you continue arguing what you obviously don't have!
Christianity EtcRe: May God Keep Daddy Adeboye. That Man Is A True Man Of God by justt: 5:14pm On Dec 11, 2022
Kobojunkie:
While you were busy pulling up meanings of those words as far as man's world is concerned, you forgot to include the most important definition of all which is that of emotions. undecided
Notice that emotions are brought on and regulated by neurophysiological changes which clearly indicate that they are temporal in nature. Now, compare that which the explanation of joy in the Psalm 16 vs 11 where you are told that Joy is forever more. Clearly, as I have attempted several times now to get you to see, the joy that is promised by God is not the same as the emotional kind of joy which only lasts so long. undecided
It's either you are deliberately deviating or you don't understand what you are trying to explain!

No one has argued that emotions are not temporary, the point is that God relates with his people through their emotions.

The scripture, Ps 16:11, talks aboutm fullness of joy. This means, in some cases and in my own understanding, believers may not have that full joy.

Why?
The problem is not actually with God, but as humans, we are faced with difficult situations or challenges of life, which sometimes shifts our focus from God. At such moments, the joy may not be full.

I believe this is the more reason we need to fellowship with God, to focus our attention on him and him alone. Again, this is another reason why I believe God relates with us through our emotions because if our joy has been drained by challenges of life, it's just logical for God to meet the need by 'refilling' what we have lost - the joy emotion!

Though in the New Testament, we have God with us - Emmanuel, his presence is always with us but are always in his presence, I mean are we conscious of his presence at all times?

Definitely no! And that's why our joy may not full. But the moment we let go of our troubles and challenges and focus on him, we have our joy full again.

If we are not able to be conscious of his presence at all times, then the joy will be temporary. The fact that's is temporary doesn't means it's not from God or God is not involved. It only shows our capacity to receive.

So, the scripture is valid - only in the presence of God is the fullness of joy forevermore. When we get to heaven we will enjoy the forevermore aspect but as long as we are still here, it may keep fluctuating.
