Ameenahhh:Thank you so much, Ameenahhh🙏 |
NISIGHH:Hi, it seems no one is monitoring the association email. I also sent you a mail but no response, too 🤔 |
Please how compulsory are educational certificates for for family reunion visa? My wife has HND but she is yet to collect the certificate. She only has WAEC. Since she is not going for study purposes, Is it compulsory she submit higher level certificate? |
iListen:It depends on your location (how far/close you are to Lagos). You can use the link below for an estimate: https://www.dhl.com/ng-en/home/get-a-quote.html |
Wunme:Congratulations, this is really encouraging and your persistence is challenging! Hopefully, my spouse will not have to wait for more than 4 months, too🙏 |
Metronimos:Thank you. The cheapest I have found was with Turkish Airlines but the problem is that I have to pay with dollar card, which I don't have. I have asked my fellowship body to book it for me. |
MrAAA2:I plan to return in June 2025. Most return tickets are within 12 months. Do you think with the insurance I will be able to extend it till then? |
MrAAA2:Hello! I was told after applying for residence permit in Germany, I will be issued with the appropriate number of years I intend spending. But now that I only have six months on the visa, is it really safe to book a one-way ticket? |
iListen:You can download it from: https://www.bamf.de/SharedDocs/Anlagen/DE/Forschung/Forschungseinrichtungen/08muster-aufnahmevereinbarung-deutsch-englisch.pdf?__blob=publicationFile&v=6 I got the prepaid envelope from DHL at the park besides the Embassy. |
iListen:Hi, I guess this may be of help as you prepare for your appointment. Ensure you go with the following essential documents in addition to other required ones: 1. Hosting agreement. This is different from the award letter. You can download it and send to your host to fill, sign and stamp 2. If you will be participating in language training, print out the email information indicating your stipend details during the period. Good luck! |
iListen:Your booking and appointment dates are quite wide apart! Mine was just three days. Maybe mine was so fast because my departure date is fast approaching. My language training starts on March 6 and I should be there some days earlier. I have my passport with me already. Yes, I paid for DHL. It appears the option of pick up is not available. How do you guys book pocket-friendly flight to Germany? The quotes from Lufthansa are really expensive! |
daewoo2010:I didn't do anything to fast track the application. However, it appears the Embassy gives priority to certain group of applicants that, fortunately, I belonged to. |
iListen:When did you book your appointment? I got mine within three days. Have you checked your spam folder? The security guys asked all the applicants if they were with up to 35k so I guess the visa fee shouldn't be more than that in naira. I already got a favorable response! I have my visa approved now. |
MrAAA2:Updates I really enjoyed 'super-fast' express service. I received my passport today with the visa. The visa was approved yesterday meaning it only took 2 days! |
iListen:Well, not really. The security guys were the ones trying to cause confusion. They said I must have the amount with me even if it will eventually be returned because I already told them I was on scholarship. Actually, I tried to go with the amount but the lack of new notes couldn't allow. When they told me I must have the cash with me, I tried to get 30k from POS but the guys said he was going to deduct 10k as his charges! I just went back to the Embassy to see how things would play out and fortunately, I was eventually allowed in. However, another guy who wasn't with the cash was turned back in my presence although I'm not sure what he was applying for and if he has any scholarship. Are you also an AvH Fellow? |
iListen:Yeah, my postdoc is AvH sponsored |
MrAAA2:What I submitted was the NPC birth attestation. Only those born after 1992 can get NPC certificate; older people are to submit attestation from NPC |
justt:Hello! Just a little updates on my application. My appointment was 9 am but I arrived much earlier, was attended to and I submitted before 8:30. I went there early because I wanted to return to my base same day. I already arranged my documents as advised, so I had no challenge with that. I was however exempted from visa fees and interviews. The only challenge was the birth certificate. I presented NPC age attestation but the lady who attended to be said age declaration deposed to by the head of family is the acceptable one! Actually I thought they are the same because the NPC is also a form of age declaration but she later accepted it and said she would allow her boss to decide if my NPC birth is fine. Please, does anyone know how soon I can expect their decision since I plan to travel in first week or March? |
daviesblaze:Thank you, Daviesblaze! |
daviesblaze:I just saw the above post. Well, it may not be specifically addressed to anyone but you are apparently going overboard. What's the problem? This is a free platform for everyone to FREELY share his/her mind. No one signed an agreement let alone a covenant to post any information here. Whatever anyone decides to do is purely his choice, including anyone's decision to respond to inquiries ![]() It is good and of course, encouraged that people give back as much as possible but unfortunately, your unwarranted outburst will not bring the intended change. Yes, many may be here to make inquiries but everyone is not a kid that you can talk to anyhow. How dare you say someone is a bloke . In your mind, the word bloke is an insult, right?Calm down! what will be will be. Those who will respond will respond and those who will not respond will not respond. A better idea is to keep encouraging people to post useful information. |
daviesblaze:Dear Daviesblaze, I can understand your plight ![]() ![]() ; they are valid although I actually plan doing that later for those who may be in my shoes because I'm not a student.Since some people may need it now, here it's: Appointment booked in Jan 10, 2023, invitation to submit application received on Jan 13, 2023. Application will be submitted on Feb 7. I haven't posted this because I assume everybody is aware that category A applicants receive timely attention. I'm visiting Germany are as a funded Postdoc Fellow. |
Hello! I discover that the German application checklist doesn't include itinerary (flight ticket), account statement/payslip, yellow fever card, proof of accommodation etc as often request for other visa applications or are these expected to be provided as supplementary information? Even health insurance wasn't listed but from the information on this platform, I got to know it will still be requested for. My appointment is next week and I don't want to leave any vital document behind. Thanks in anticipation of your input. |
MrAAA2:@MrAA2, your actually deserve an award for your availability and prompt response to inquiries on this platform. Thank you! |
Please, how important is this primary school leaving certificate and can non-inclusion of it lead to visa rejection? |
megaxart:It's good you are gradually admitting that Nigeria or Nigerians are not native speakers and you are shifting from the initial argument. Your definition is correct but on the broader sense your argument is a bit faulty because being a native speaker, and in the context being discussed cannot be defined in isolation or based on individuals. It has to be based on your citizenship. In this context of a student seeking an admission, being native speaker or having English Language as your mother tongue means the language is well spoken by everyone in your home country. How many Nigerians speak in English Language, I mean as the main medium of communication? Although you admitted that more of the younger generation now speaks more in English Language but I also see that as an error of hasty generalization because the "younger generation" is not defined. Up to 30 years or under 10 years? So, concluding that "overwhelmingly large proportions of Nigerians are native speakers" may also be incorrect! Most people who speak in English and assuming we are using your definition of native speakers, are the children of elites or those whose parents can afford good private schools. The rest and I'm my own opinion, who are the majority can only communicate in English and cannot be described as native speakers! How many Nigerians can understand what is being said when the real native speakers talk? It's not only being able to speak it; can you understand the real native speakers? This doesn't mean he cannot get an exemption for his admission but claiming to be a native speaker may be far from being true. So, the conclusion is still that Nigeria may be an English speaking country but NOT a native speaker! |
megaxart:Well, this has been thoroughly addressed so no need to continue unnecessary discussion and repititons. Summary: Nigeria may be an English speaking country but NOT a native speaker. |
MrAAA2:Thanks! |
Please, can someone recommend which of the following two banks I should register with: 1. N26 2. Revolut I know they are both online banks. Thank you. |
xteem001:If you can't differentiate between English Language as a mother tongue and English Language as an official or second language, you may actually need to submit the requested letter ![]() |
Blessedmercy8:Exactly, he doesn't have this experience. If only he could humble himself and ask God for this joy! |
Kobojunkie:If what you have now is still what you have or have experienced when you didn't know God, maybe and just maybe your haven't discovered this God. Maybe what you have is just knowledge! Why don't you go back to God. God ministers to people through their emotions! Your experience to the contrary does not and cannot invalidate that! What you are experiencing is probably happiness. Why don't you ask God to fill you with his joy? I seriously recommend you do that before you continue arguing what you obviously don't have! |
Kobojunkie:It's either you are deliberately deviating or you don't understand what you are trying to explain! No one has argued that emotions are not temporary, the point is that God relates with his people through their emotions. The scripture, Ps 16:11, talks aboutm fullness of joy. This means, in some cases and in my own understanding, believers may not have that full joy. Why? The problem is not actually with God, but as humans, we are faced with difficult situations or challenges of life, which sometimes shifts our focus from God. At such moments, the joy may not be full. I believe this is the more reason we need to fellowship with God, to focus our attention on him and him alone. Again, this is another reason why I believe God relates with us through our emotions because if our joy has been drained by challenges of life, it's just logical for God to meet the need by 'refilling' what we have lost - the joy emotion! Though in the New Testament, we have God with us - Emmanuel, his presence is always with us but are always in his presence, I mean are we conscious of his presence at all times? Definitely no! And that's why our joy may not full. But the moment we let go of our troubles and challenges and focus on him, we have our joy full again. If we are not able to be conscious of his presence at all times, then the joy will be temporary. The fact that's is temporary doesn't means it's not from God or God is not involved. It only shows our capacity to receive. So, the scripture is valid - only in the presence of God is the fullness of joy forevermore. When we get to heaven we will enjoy the forevermore aspect but as long as we are still here, it may keep fluctuating. |
