As much as I may not agree with the Op, what's your problem with her personal experience?

You delight in saying things that has no biblical basis.
Who cares about what you feel.
Your personal experiences or understanding should remain with you abeg.

If you feel you want to teach about what you know, create a thread

Imagine, God doesn't deal with His followers with emotion... Bla bla bla.
But He has emotions, in His presence is fullness of Joy and at His right hand are pleasure..
Wetin be Joy and pleasure?
Thank you. I totally agree with you. In the presence of God is the fullness of joy.

@
Kobojunkie, I will advise you come down from your lofty height whereby you are presenting yourself as an authority who can never be wrong.

It's ok to be wrong but very disturbing that you are not ready to accept correction even when shown relevant scripture. No one, except maybe Jesus has the perfect knowledge of God.

How could you say God cannot relate with his children through their emotions just because sinners claim they have such experiences, too? Who gave humans emotions in the first place? Are you even sure what they experience is joy or just happiness?

Maybe you also need to check the following scriptures in addition:

For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, Rom 14:17

In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said, "I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from [the] wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sigh, Luk 10:21

If Jesus himself rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and an essential feature of the kingdom of God is joy in the Holy Spirit, are you saying God is not involved in these open display of emotions?

You should beware of leading others astray with this your know-it-all attitude.

Why would you go for private health insurance? When there is public health insurance?

Go for AOK or TK.

It's cost around 210 € and covers every treatment.

If you are working full time, then the contribution would be made between you and your employer.
Thank you, will check them out.

MrAAA2:
You should only worry about yours for now, you can add your family when they arrive Germany.
You have an option of public/statutory health insurance as a VOLUNTARILY INSURED person but pays up to 200 EUR (TK, AOK, DAK, BARMER). If you have a fairly good health condition without any preexisting or risk ailment that you may require regular health care, a Private health insurance will be sufficient for a start. Mawista is the most popular among STUDENTS over 30 years. There are different coverage levels, however, as in every Private health insurance policy, when you visit the doctor, you will need to pay with your money, then you send the bill/invoice to your health insurance company for reimbursement. But they will not pay back the full amount; maybe 70-80 percent.
The monthly cost for Mawista and offers are on their website. When your wife arrives or you begin a full-time or hazardous job, your kind of insurance may change.
Thank you for this.
Mawista Expatcare comfort option (€109) seems to be ideal for me.

Depends on where you are domiciled, age, coverage type, family size.

Are you in Germany?
I need it for a stay in Germany next year. I'm currently in Nigeria. For now, it will be for me alone, later my spouse will join and we are both 41.

I already indicated that it should be a bit comprehensive. I actually thought I could get one between €100 -150.

Does anyone know about any health insurance company that's a bit comprehensive (NOT travel insurance) and pocket-friendly?

I'm looking at International Healthcare Company, especially the Flexmed Global Impat Tariff option (starts @ €189/month

and

Continentale Krankenversicherung a.G. (€190/month).

Has anyone used any of these before?

There's actually no place like home. I quite agree that some people are prepared to make the sacrifice of relocation but if most people had the benefit of hindsight they wouldn't have relocated.

From my experience, if you are not into partying/clubbing, womanizing and other ungodly acts, 'abroad' will be a very boring and lonely place.

Yes, the environment is neat and fascinating but after living there and seeing all the beautiful places for even as little as three months, they loose their charm.

The best option is to go there on vacation. May God bless Nigeria and make it a place of pride for the citizens.

Aareona:
Earlier this year, I went back in time to few years back when I was doing so well in Nigeria. The noises from friends and all nurtured the decision to move abroad inside of me. I became so restless till I finally leave. The first day in Canada was the day I knew this place isn't where I can be forever. Most of us would have come back before the time we had in mind except for the fact that I don't still have enough. If I want to travel to naija for vacation now, I will need up to $4k. If I take that away from my savings, I don't know how I can recover.

No one tells about the downside of this place. I feel lonely, depressed and empty most times. Because no one to talk to, just everyone in my workplace goin about their business. If I make attempt to talk to them, they just waive it with a smile. It's been 3years here and the people I still talk to on video call are friends from Nigeria. It's been 3years and my savings is still Short of $20k despite how much my friends in Nigeria do tell me how easy it is for me to make money abroad but I never tell them my situation. I can't wait to make enough and leave Canada for good. I know a lot will come at me with the usuall "come back to Nigeria na", please this is not an attempt to denigrate your abroad heaven, just for me to rant out and be fine

This is true but sad!

My fellowship body (AvH) also just got back to me that Nigeria German Consulate informed them that there's now a change in family reunion visa application and so they will not be able to offer my wife language sponsorship along with me since she needs to wait for a minimum of 12 months before she can join me.

But why are Nigerians treated this way?

Ahmed4002:
It would be just a waste of time.

Embassy not to do entertain such request be it for DAAD scholars.
They would ask you to wait for one year.

No harm in trying Sha.

Two friends just did last week, and it was a negative feedback (Daad scholar and a blue card holder)

Actually, I have initiated my passport renewal but the immigration officer said it will still take a minimum of two weeks before I can get it sad So in order to save time, I was thinking I could start with the old one while the renewal process in underway.

I will appreciate it if I can have the views of those who have had similar experience - using your about-to-expire passport to book an appointment and getting your visa in the renewed passport. Does anyone here have such experience?

Ahmed4002:
Do not book an appointment with the passport, kindly proceed to a nearest immigration office and get a new passport in Nigeria.

You can pay for instant passport, then you can book for the Visa appointment.

Normally, when your passport have within 6 months validity, you can renew it. So please renew it.

The pain and expenses in renewal of Nigeria passport abroad no here.

Do your passport renewal in Naija.

Thank you so much.
I will book for her as advised but the fellowship has a four month language (German) training before my research starts and we are to undertake the language training together.

Hopefully, she will be given visa with me so that we start the training at the same time.

Biggybee:
Book for her online, family reunion visa, let her start her waiting period. The one year minimum you referred to starts counting from the day you book. So book it and let the countdown begin.

When you resume your fellowship here, it could also help your fellowship body to offer some assistance when you tell them how long she's been on the wait list.

If you get to the interview and somehow the visa offered could cover your wife.. You simply give them the reference code generated when you did the booking.

This is just my opinion.

To your second question, I will suggest you schedule an appointment with your old passport and keep working on the new. When it is time to submit your passport for the visa stamping, submit a new one.

If you are asked to drop it off at your interview, let the interviewer know its about to expire.

Good luck!

Hi Biggybee,
I'm about starting my visa application because my fellowship application was just approved. Going through your last response, I discovered you said I should also book a date for my wife.

Is this booking done online also or at the embassy? I didn't really see any option at the online booking portal which will not cause her to wait for a year, at the minimum!

To everyone, my passport expires next February, is it possible to schedule an appointment with it while I commence the renewal process or I must use the new passport?

I'm trying to save time because I need to be in Germany early next year.

Biggybee:
Let your fellowship body give you a letter that covers her (you might not need this if your acceptance letter already states that). Or let them mail the embassy when you have gone for your own interview.

Book a date for her alongside with you.

MAKE SURE YOU DROP THE LETTER ALONG WITH THE DOCUMENTS YOU DROP OFF AT THE EMBASSY. If you interviewer asks if you have any questions... Tell them about your wife.

Good Day guys

We all heard the judgement of the Appeal Court yesterday and from the looks of it her verdict is final in this particular matter so no Supreme court and I guess FG played a fast one on ASUU.

So this brings me to this Falana should have known the court weren't gonna judge this in ASUU's favour and also he should have told ASUU disobeying the first order from NIC will have consequences but still he jarred them on.

I think ASUU should just calm down and negotiate this matter in peace instead of court here and there cause from the look of things ASUU faulted and FG used those loop holes against them.

Let's be sincere pride is one thing holding ASUU down, we all knows they deserved better from FG but they too should know the Buhari tenure is coming to an end very soon like he said he doesn't want to sign agreement he can't implement and for me it's reasonable few months from now Buhari is off and the next president might fault that agreement if he signed and then the strike continues, so why not wait till the new president comes and then go on a reasonable negotiation with him.

The case is not won by either ASUU or FG yet the court just wants the students to return to class since they are the most affected here.

It's my own opinion though I might be wrong in some places am opened to learning and corrections.
I think you are right although it's difficult to believe the FG doesn't have the capacity to meet the request of ASUU.

However, I expected ASUU to have analysed this issue more critically than just being stubborn. Buhari is not ready to do anything. This is obvious!

While ASUU request is noble and realistic, the stubborn approach, and now almost resulting to contempt of law is not helping and will not help. You live to fight another day, they say!

They should first of all call off this strike, at least to minimize damages/losses to members if eventually no work no pay will stand.

Complete gibberish and trash !!!

Imagine Jesus asking his disciples that one of them should impersonate him and take his place on the cross, and these same disciples still went to preach Jesus crucifixion and resurrection and, still paid supreme price, I mean died horrible death for what they believed.

Is that not foolishness ?

To die horrible death for what you know it's a lie ?

Who does that huh

I think Islam and Muslims are confused, and this happened in order to make Islam real. Should dey accept the crucifixion of my 54⁵55 to 55555555555545444⁵5, there won't be anything Islam today.
And should they deny crucifixion took place, then Islam will find itself fighting against history. So just like liars and hypocrites always sit on the fence when they realize they can't silent the truth, Muhammed decided to go with same tactics.

Islam is fake and lies !!!!
Good bless you!
I wonder why someone who said he would save me would request that I die for him or die in his stead!

Although the Bible says the Gospel of Christ is foolishness to those who are perishing but the submission of the OP is illogical. It would have been better to say Jesus didn't die than saying he asked one of his disciples to die for him!

I agree with you. Jesus told “I am the path”. Jesus did not tell “Jesus is the path”.
I will really like to know the difference between these two statements.

Jesus emphatically said, 'I'm the way' not 'one of the ways'. To further clarify this, he said, 'No one can come to the father except through me'. How clearer could it be?
Christianity EtcRe: Is Heaven Made For Christians Only? by justt: 1:00pm On Sep 11, 2022
Without trying to insult you, OP, you not yet a Christian. You are just like many who attend church but are still not saved. So sad!

Going by your confession that you are a Christian mainly because your were born into a Christian home, no, you are not yet a Christian but a church goer.

It is also obvious that you believe in Christ. That is great but mere believe and church attendance don't give salvation. You need to confess what you believe with your own mouth for you to be saved or to be a Christian (see Rom 10:9&10).

What you believe she which you confess is also very important. You must believe confess that Jesus is the son of God, that he came to die for your sins, that he actually died, that he rose from the death and through his sacrifice you have eternal life (John 3:16, 36)

You can only claim salvation by being born into a Christian home if only you are an underage (mostly less than 4 years) but since you are old enough to post on social media, you are old enough to take decision for yourself.

You need to give your life to Christ for you to be saved and be safe. See my profile for prayer is salvation.

Let no one decieve you, anyone without Christ cannot make heaven

Yungmil:
People are born into different family, religion, tribe and culture. I see some families with both Christians and Muslim in it.

My question now is that people who are born into a family of Islam, Hindu, Judaism, paganism and whatever, does it mean they can't make heaven.

Because I know I am a Christian basically because I was born into a Christian home, and I find it difficult to convert to any other religion no matter the amount of preaching, same goes to those born into Islam Hindu and the rest.

Please I need scholars in the house for more clarification

Hello!
Please, what's the prospect of getting the visa as couples, I mean submitting my application with that of my spouse at the same time?

I'm planning to be in Germany early next year for a research work, which lasts for a maximum of two years. While I do not have to wait to submit my application, I understand that my wife may have to wait for a minimum of one year before making family reunion application, if we do not submit it together!

For a stay of 2 years (max), I can't understand why she will have to stay back for a whole year before she could submit her application!

Has anyone submitted as couples, what was the outcome?

Note: I'm going there on fellowship, which is sufficient for us, but there are stipends for spouse and children also. So, finance shouldn't be an issue.

In fact, this is one of the reasons I will prefer to submit the application at the same time so that we travel at the same time also because she won't be paid the stipends for as long as she's away from Germany!

Are there things I can do to fast-track the appointment for her visa application?

I shall be grateful for your help in this regard.

Are you sure you understand the question and are you also sure you are not contradicting yourself?

This child is already in Nigeria! How's he going to explain himself to immigration officer about how he got to Nigeria if he doesn't have legal document authorising to be here?

miladelly:
He is good to go since he is British and he has his British Passport with him.

Ideally, when travelling to UK or any other western country you don't need to show your Nigeria passport WHEN you hold a Passport proving you are a nationality of that country.

But make sure you have his Birth Certificate handy...

He only needs his Nigeria Passport or Nigerian Visa inside his British Passport when he is coming to Nigeria.

Hmmmmm I will advise you quickly get his Nigeria passport for him before he leaves otherwise getting Nigerian Passport in UK can be daunting.

The way I have just explained to you is what is applicable to my children who holds Irish Passport.

OP,
Your best option is to start the application for Nigerian passport as soon as possible. Most of the people saying the child is good to go, will put you in problem. Unfortunately, they will not be there when your child is having issues with immigration officer.

And if at all, it will be possible to grease arm, be prepared to spend more than the cost of the passport.

Trajan:
Hello Nlers,

So, my 7 year old child recently had his British passport mailed to him in Nigeria. He now has a flight to UK coming up.

My question is, will he be allowed to board as he doesn't possess a Nigerian passport? Please, note that I paid the airline for chaperone service.
I would really appreciate answers from immigration guys or frequent travellers.

There's no show off here. It's either you have never traveled out or you don't understand the question.

It's either the child has a Nigerian passport with the virgin UK passport or he has Nigerian visa on the UK passport, else there will problem.

He/she cannot just present virgin UK passport!

einsteine:
show off.

see the question this one is asking. Instead of you to say you want to let us know your child is a British citizen.

You are asking if he can go to the UK while having a British passport? Ask yourself if that question makes sense at all. Is it not a no-brainer? Must be a slow news day for the mods to put this nonsense on the front page.

It is always good as believers that we learn from one another. When we are not ready to consider other people's opinions and we insist that we are right, then there may be problem. In fact I believe this is responsible for the different doctrines in the Body of Christ today.

I believe Rhips is right is his classification of the gifts. Yes, some people may have come up with these classifications, that doesn't invalidate them.

As much as you are going by what is stated in the Bible, which is great, it appears you are also making same errors by insisting on what is not stated in the Bible!

For instance, you said, 'Prophecy is not a vocal gift' because it is not written in the Bible but your statement, 'Events of the past, present and future become accessible to the prophet. That is the gift. 'The verbal narrating of what the prophet is seeing or hearing or saw or heard is not the gift' is also not written as such in the Bible cheesy So do we call that a fallacy huh

Interestingly and according to Paul in 1 Cor 12, what he calls gifts are the special abilities (tongues, prophecy, word of wisdom faith etc), which unfortunately, you said are not the gifts!

You need to understand that there is the gift of prophecy which Paul mentioned in 1 Cor 12:10, but there is also the office of a prophet, which the same Paul also mentioned in Eph 4:11.The gift of prophesy is something every believer could operate in but in most cases, this occurs only at special periods - during prayers, studying of the word, fellowshipping with other believers or so but office of a prophet is a ministry gift. People in this office don't need to be in prayer session or be engaged in any spiritual activity before they receive from God. They may even be eating or be in the toilet when God gives them the revelation. Those who have the gift of prophesy can be elevated to the office if they are serious.

Yes, it common to lump everything together, may be because the two often operate together, but revelation and prophecy have their distinct meanings, even in common grammar. Prophecy/prophesy = foretelling/speaking forth. This has to do with talking. That is why it was classified as a vocal gift! In most cases, there may not be vision. You are just empowered by the Spirit of the Lord to say those words. I have not heard or seen someone prophesying without vocalizing it.

Revelation on the other hand is from 'reveal'/'see'. Revelation involves you being shown things that other are not seeing. You are not necessarily speaking. This may include somebody talking to you or you just seeing/hearing things that are happening around or that is about to happen in the future. In some cases, there may be talking or speaking but in most of these, it was usually with the angel/God/Jesus who gave the vision whereas in prophecy, you would be talking to people or things (e.g Ezekiel, who was asked to prophesy to the winds); you will not be talking back to God. In the example of Ezekiel (Eze 37), I believe both revelation and prophecy took place together.

Again, you need to understand that in the office of a prophet, several gifts are often involved - prophecy, word of wisdom, word of knowledge, discerning of spirit, tongues and interpretation of tongues. It is an 'office' so you will find 'varieties'. I hope this is not a 'fallacy' because it is not stated in the Bible like that?

Prophecy is NOT the revelation (they are two different words)! Prophecy is that which is spoken forth...
Revelation is that which is shown or known

They are both abilities displayed by believers as they are empowered by the Spirit of God

It is inappropriate to have used the word 'nonsense'! We should rather inculcate the attitude of learning from each other when we have differing opinions on issue like this or at least make further research before flagrantly condemning others' views.

otipoju:
These are classification that one man thought about. No where in the bible is such classification made.
Its someone's erroneous opinion. Prophecy is not a vocal gift.

Stop saying nonsense. Its like saying talking is a gift and walking is a gift or eating is a spiritual gift. These are natural traits of humans.

Prophesy is the revelation of hidden things from God to man. The prophet sees or hears and then relays what he or she saw. The spiritual gift itself is the ability to receive revelations or access the spiritual realms to access information not know to the five senses.

Events of the past, present and future become accessible to the prophet. That is the gift.

The verbal narrating of what the prophet is seeing or hearing or saw or heard is not the gift.

Stop regurgitating what someone wrote somewhere and take time to read and meditate yourself on scriptures and pray to God to teach you spiritual things
