tahirabu: hello @Justwise

I'm about to apply for my student visa and I intend to use my personal bank statement and my parent's. The statements are 3 in total. All these statements have balances that have not been touched within the last 28 days but one. On the last one, there have been recent transactions within the last 28 days. However, the min. balance within the last 28 days has not exceeded the remaining balance to complete the maintenance funds requirements. Let me break this down so you would be clear.

Fees- £14300
Maintenance - £7200
Total - £21500

The balance of the bank statements
Personal - £4220 (kept for min. of 28 consecutive days)
Parent's Dorm account- £16000 (kept for min. of 28 consecutive days)
Parent's naira account - min. of 400,000 naira for more than 28 consecutive days (From UKBA, it states exchange rate is £1-N270)

Am I good to go?

Thanks in advance
Yes but don't forget to include birth certificate and letter from your parents indicating that you are allowed to use their bank accounts.
@Macheus - The N165k is it for a return ticket or a one way ticket? If its a return ticket, its quite cheap considering the fact that its an olympic season. @Justwise - You dont want travel agent to survive ni - I use a travel agent and he does not collect extra from me.. He gets @ least 8.5% commission from the airline and their software (Amadeus, etc) allows them to get cheaper seats than what airlines display on their websites. It all depends on how honest and sincere the agent is.
No travel agent can get me cheaper ticket than i can get for myself, the airlines will not sell at lost and will not do it for you for free. People may use agent if they are far too busy to use internet, but you can't use agent and still have the time to come here if your agent is cheating you.

If you want to promote any agent do it outside Travel section, any post that contains the name of that agent will be removed.

People do it for themselves here and it works.
There are things I need you to understand, firstly she didn't advertise her contact details because the private message on nairald can still work or didn't you read the from the post on the those who asked her to contact them through their email? Secondly I don't have a problem with anyone protecting their identity but I know when someone isn't honestly from were they claimed. Due to what happened with someone who claimed to be in the usa while still in lagos I asked the her to prove her location, please what's difficult from showing the location on your mere BB chatting profile? I have friends in Amsterdam and Rotterdam, let the wurajone prove she's not here to do some illegal businesses, I confirmed her been a scammer not only by the enlisted previously but when she started telling me stories that she travelled from Nigeria to Greece on 2years greece resident permit which the brother is running, that I should inform those interested, I then asked how did you travel to Netherlands, she then told me she went back to Nigeria and applied for student visa to Netherlands, I can ask her few questions here on nairaland for her to prove she's not here to indirectly convinve people into believing she's real to the extent of applying for her assistance, let her tell me how many doors does the Netherlands Embassy visa office have and the first question she was asked when she came for the MVV Visa.

Don't worry I will gradually bring it open how dubious that individual is.
She is not under any obligation to disclose any personal info to you, she know nothing about you and it will be silly for her to tell you more than she feel comfortable with. Why did you not wait until she asked you for money to process resident permit for you? Then you have concrete evidence to tag her a scammer.
Travel › Re: Students Coming To The Netherlands-things You Should Know by justwise(mod):
p.desmond@

I'm really disappointed that you made this allegation based on the fact that she refused to give you her number, Facebook ID or confirm her location, she did not ask you for money or advertise any fraudulent business here, she did not even drop her contact details here for anybody to contact her off-nairaland.

Its unfair to tagged anybody a scammer without any reasonable evidence, she has the right to protect her identity as much as possible, she doesn't know you in real life so why would she give you her number and facebook ID suddenly?

Please this is not the way of going about things and you would't like it if somebody does this to you.

I wanted to hide that post you made but i will leave it for others to read and see if there are any reasons to call her a scammer.

semid4lyfe: Team Japan all the way. . . .

The US don't deserve to be in this Final as they were helped in no small measure by the referee in their Semi-Final match against Canada.

USA has won Gold 3 times (Atlanta 96, Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008) in the last 4 Olympics. . . Haba! Shey na be only dem cry

Moreover, I support any country that stands in the way of the USA winning gold as I want the "Chinks" to win this Olympics overall wink

Go Nadeshiko, do me proud kiss
Its not US fault that other teams can't beat them, did ref help US win it in the previous 2times they won it? US will win even more golds

prisca1: i was just refused a family visa with my son, because i didn't add my personal salary statement but i added my husband's statement with larger deposites and no evidence to support them. my husband has a part time job which earns him that deposits and he has invoices to back them, i aslo have a personal bank statement but the money is not too much. do u think i should re- apply or appeal am not in a hurry to travel
When you are applying for visiting visa and submit bank statement, its always important to submit paper evidence to back up the source of that money, anybody can submit fat bank account but not everybody can account for every penny in that account.

Get paper evidence to back up your husband's bank statement, payslips, letter of employment...etc. Appealing will cost you more money and time but the chances of winning it is below average.

coogar: big time scam. everytime i see uk contact numbers that start with 070XXXXX, i cringe!
sadly, many nigerians would fall for this trap again. for a uk employer to employ directly from nigeria - they ought to have displayed job vacancies in national newspapers here in the uk for 6 months without success. with the rate of unemployment currently in the uk, it's not just possible for this hotel not to have interested applicants -

this is a mighty scam - efcc should be contacted!

grin grin bro i don't think you visit travel section often, there are even worst cases than this, EFCC got no time for a case like this.

Couple of weeks ago one bogus member here was adverting 2 colleges in the UK for sale, when he was busted he went off only to come back weeks later advertising hotel job in the UK, when i searched for the hotel address it turns out to be Milton Keynes's city council address.

temmytanny: @ just wise, i dont think it illegal doing such. Someone can help you get a police report provided its your finger prints. I stand to be corrected.
justwise: I want to believe that you are not an 'agent' or some sort of bogus individual but this is my issue with that specific advice you gave. . . . .No two person finger print are the same, your finger print uniquely identifies you, you can not legally use your brother or a family member's finger print for the purpose character identification.

If you live outside Nigeria and want to get police certificate in Nigeria then visit any police station in that country and get your finger print done then send it to Nigeria.

A large number of Nigerian police are corrupt and will do anything to abuse any system, lets not help them paint Nigerian image even darker.
I said the same thing

I really doubt they do that.
Me again cool But this one is SERIOUS And SOMEHOW

I was going thru the ukba website and I noticed that they have changed the General visitor form( the date on it is now July 2012)

Do u know that uncles, aunts and cousins are no longer considered family and u cannot fill d family visitor form saying u want to go and see them.( Has this been in existence since? Or did they just change it)I filled a family visit visa to see my uncle in June(my mums brother)does that mean I filled the wrong form?

Secondly in this new gen visitorhey asked do u have any friend in the uk and in d guidance note they described friend as 'my mothers brothers son'which is obviously my cousin' Does this mean that when iam filling the form I'm going to put my uncles name under friends rather than under family(because uncles r no longer regarded as family)or I'll put his name under bothhuh

This is sooooo confusing and I would appreciate an explantion! *whew*
That law changed last month, the real definition of family member by UKBA is your mother, father or brother and sister that is it. Uncles and anties are not regarded as family member again.

I don't know how mother and brother could be regarded as friends, i never read that part.
